If I was a corruption supporter I would become very familiar with The RICO Act and how it could be applied to Rodney Mitchell and his coherts. You guys are in for a long battle that not many have won.
 

It is true 1037 the Rico act may be evoked in regards to the connection of Rodney Mitchell and Robert Jordan. Again this is no small situation, this is big, and carries the potential of huge criminal felony conditions. This is not looked on lightly by the FPPC and other political control agencies. This information is being forwarded by the Lovelace group to a number of organizations. We will keep you updated as information develops.
 

Once there was a list of the employees of Lake Co Investigations on this blog. Could someone re-post it. Jeff Markham is one, is Bob Jordan one? Someone needs to investigate Lake Co. Investigations.

My understanding of Mitchell was long before The Dinius case. I found him willing to lie and cover up for the board of supervisors and lesser employees. Get him out of office. He is truly a despicable person.

All crimes committed by Mitchell would fall under the Rico Act. They would prosecute all crimes under the umbrella of the RICO Act. Under the Rico Act each defendant is charged with each crime committed. If perdickis charged with Murder then Mitchell, Hopkins, Ostini, Wells, Slaybaugh and the rest are charged with murder.

We had one of our fine members doing some amazing research through the department of consumer affairs. Well well here are the results, and yes there are some real problems on this one. Many listed are running investigative services companies while employeed with the Lake County sheriffs department!!!! This is another bad bad situation, we will be moving forward on looking into this situation, and forwarding this to Anita Grant, and others. Lets see how they explain this one away.

No that can't be, and now does that mean that public funded sheriff's equipment, and resources are being used by the likes of CB to run their little side business's. Well it will be interesting to request the business records, and of course he will show a lot of expenditures afor investigations, you know record searches etc. Cause if he didn't then how did he get it done? On a minor footnote I just need say the Deputy who drives the SUV down in Lower Lake. What a cool guy! He was just there chillen. Not busting peoples chops, but just there. Today marks nine years since the terrorist attacks. It's also my birthday. Where were you on Sept 11 2001? What were you doing? What were your emotions then?

Just take a moment to reflect on things. This is America. We have the right to vote. That's what this is all about. No one can take that away.

Were voting for Sheriff. This is lake Co. Were a small community. I have seen people pull together here. In fires, car crashes etc. Wherever you are just take a moment to reflect on were you were on 9/11 at the time of the attacks. Put the mudslinging on hold for a few moments.

This is the west coast. New York is a long ways away, but on that day many of our countrymen died. If you go to New York about one in five people lost someone close to them in the attacks. I cam remember listening to, I think it was Howard Lutnick, chief executive of Cantor Fitzgerald describe how 658 (two thirds of their workforce) burned to death in the attacks; tears streaming down his face. All young executives in their prime. Cantor Fitzgerald occupied the 101-105 floors of the north tower in lower Manhattan.

As Americans this is a special day. We can vote. Exercise your right, but be good to your neighbor.

If you serve on a Jury, try not to listen to the media and try not to discuss the case with anyone. Bad juju.

There are allot of fine officers in the LCSD. I do not think "cleaning house" like Karl Marx would best serve the public. If the people vote for a change in administration, so be it. Sure; go Rivero! Franks a great guy. If and when Frank takes office I think allot of people will grow to like him. Change is difficult. Anger is more difficult..

I've been reading this site for well over a year.This is my first time making a comment. It seems to me that no matter what side you take someone gets angry. I believe the purpose of this blog is to expose the wrong doing by the current sheriff. I wish that all of you would stop confusing your frustation and anger with the real issues at hand, that of getting the current sheriff out of office.
Mr Mitchell shows all the signs of a person with no consequences for his poor choice of management behavior.He is not the only poor manager but perhaps is the most visible. I hope that when this election is over that you would contine to focus your attentions to the other people in government that misuse their cloak of authority for their own selfish needs.
These people were elected or appointed to be the servant of the public, and it is their responsibility to keep trust with the public. I don't really know if Mr. Rivero will necessarily be the perfect choice but do suggest that we would be sending the message to all public officials that we are watching and expect them to do the job we trusted them to do, as we did with Mr. Hopkins. If we oust The current sheriff for his misuse of the public trust and give Mr. Rivero the opportunity we keep the power as a populus to guide our own community toward a more just place to live.

In a rash and terrible display of our human potential, 2 planes crashed and thousands died for a cause deemed by those perpetration the act as justifiable. Post 1014 we know that this has been an ongoing situation, here is where it stands. Bryan is terminated. However the reality is he was terminated by a post dated set of termination papers that were dated the 3rd and asked him to sign on the 6th. We know what Mitchell did, and why he did it. He cast this guy aside, and this individual asked for help from the HR representative Ferguson and Mitchell both only to be cast aside. Based on the termination it is doubtful that we will see the results for "personal reasons". However we believe it is imperative that actions such as this are questioned and that who ever is in charge is held accountable to answer for the reasons for their actions. We do not have that condition in our county right now. That, is the thing we are trying to remove, and create transparency. There is an old saying "When the student fails the teacher is at fault". From that perspective Rodney Mitchell is a complete failure.

Good morning Lake County, our morning note is to put the question out there concerning the huge ugly, looks like poo-dunk ville display Rob Brown has up across from the Perko's. Really now that is the ugliest political display we have ever seen. In looks trashy, we have a giant truck stuck in the corner of someones front lawn. If visitors come here and go to Safeway they are going to see that mess and leave go straight to hwy 29 and drive away, never to come back. Isn't there some code enforcement rules about driving semi-trucks on front lawns and parking them there then displaying these gaudy ugly signs? Gezzzzzzz Rob Brown keeps making this county look like the most unsophisticated place in the state. No wonder we have the reputation we have with Neanderthals like Brown in our midst. ;-)

Well, the election season is upon us again, and sheriff's candidate Rod Mitchell has come out with a highly negative full-page ad against Francisco Rivero.
What a sickening sight, the vilifying and demonizing of his opponent makes one wonder what kind of sheriff Mr. Mitchell is.
The office of Lake County sheriff is one of high public trust and should be held by a person of virtue. Mitchell's innuendo, allegations and accusations are a highly charged attack on an honest man, a man who has served the public and has many decent people supporting him.

Sheriff Mitchell asserts that ALL of law enforcement is 100 percent behind him as he wraps himself in the flag and implies a vote for Rivero is a vote against good law enforcement.
Well, the issue isn't law enforcement, it is candidate Mitchell and his performance. I, for one, have given an oath to uphold and protect the Constitution, have worn a Class-A uniform and worn a badge, and I see Mr. Mitchell's attempt to cast himself as the sole champion of law and order for the garbage it is.

It is about respect, Mr. Mitchell. If you cannot treat a political opponent with simple respect and civility, then how can we trust you with a badge and a gun? If I am arrested, will you trump up the charges, exaggerate the circumstances and make me look like some kind of enemy of society? When your friend or political ally is arrested, will you cover up, lie and make the circumstances seem like nothing? You've certainly demonstrated your ability with your ads.

And what about the voters? Why can't Mr. Mitchell trust we voters enough to conduct an honest, positive campaign?

The old saying goes, "Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely." Mr. Mitchell has been Lake County sheriff for longer than any other sheriff in our history, and his conduct over the last four years has demonstrated his disdain for truth and law. If you, the reader, believe in term limits as I do, look at Mr. Mitchell's tenure as sheriff and see why term limits were, and are, a good idea.

The time has come for a change from the good-old-boys, cling-to-power-no-matter-what, no-rules-or-limits-on-civility mentality that Sheriff Mitchell exemplifies. This is not the South of the 1950s. The people of Lake County want a sheriff they can trust, that provides honor to the office, and knows he is there to serve the public, ALL of the public.

I will be voting for Francisco Rivero because I believe he is a good man with good ideas and he is sincere about his principles of duty and service. I hope other voters can see behind the veil, and see Mr. Mitchell's character for what it is: vile and unworthy of such an important public office.

There may or may not be an ordinance concerning the parking of large vehicles inside the city limits, but that is a truck, not a semi-truck. It also happens to be on Rob Brown's property.
 

It is a simple Code Enforcement question, if we want to present a clean revelant presentation to those visiting our county, that kind of ugly gaudy display is very very bad. It looks like combination of a yard sale, swap meet, and trash dump all in one. It would seem strange if that is allowable under the code enforcement guidelines. A terribly ugly display.

What did Mitchell promise Markham for his endorsement? Does Markham know why Sacramento Co. Sheriff Dept. refused to hire Mitchell? Markham has bad mouthed Mitchell for years and Mitchell has bad mouthed Markham for years.

I saw Rob Brown-Mitchell's truck yesterday and I agree it's gawdy and inappropriate. Wouldn't one sign be sufficient to make your political statement of support? Jeff Markham has proven himself to be a fool and has now joined the likes of Kip Ringen in the credibility department. Poor company.
 

Does Sheriff Mitchell, an Supervisor Rob Brown own property together? Have they every used County Code Enforcement or the Sheriff Dept. to obtain Property? Someone needs to follow the money.
 

Markham is a little man who thinks he's a local big shot. He was nothing special when he was in office and we are probably better off now that he's gone. If he thinks Mitchell should be returned to office knowing what he knows about him then he doesn't have the best interest of the people at heart.
 

I find it so amazing that a few people are actually willing to ruin their own reputation and be thought of as so ignorant, that they would actually cast a vote for Mitchell. After all the corruption and problems, how does a person do this??? Arn't these people concerned about the negative impact displaying support for Mitchell creates. I mean when I drive by a house with a Mitchell sign, I look at think to my self, well there is someone who is not to sharp, what a shame. It must be that these people are in the elitist network and getting some form of kick-back or bennies via their connection to Mitchell. Because it is hard to believe people would actually be willing to display their stupidity in this manner.

What he is saying is that if he can save the county $10,000. if he buys a car in Ukiah he will go to the more expensive car sold in Lakeport. I would think our local businesses would want to negotiate a good deal for the county to keep their business. Of course then why should they when they had Rod in their pocket and vis versa. This is known as corruption.

I read no news media, watched no TV, and discussed it with noone, including my husband during the trial... I also was allowed to keep my notes, but what will really be telling is the transcript of the court case when the Dinius Civil Rights trial comes to court. Then you will see, that this is only one example of the probable others of misuse of office by our elected officials. In my letter published by the Blog above after our local newspapers refused it (because I believe they are, or were offering preference to Mitchell...I heard LCN may be coming around because it affected their business or some other reason) I did not say Mitchell was guilty of all of those things...I said someone withdrew from this race due to threats (which is true,it was published) and that Mitchell was accused of many things (as evidenced by news articles and complaints and lawsuits). It will all play out eventually, I just want to ensure that voters pick a Sheriff who will be able to focus on the future, and treat all people with dignity and respect. That's all I'm sayin". Perdock was shielded by his very own officers and by Jon Hopkins.
Had Rivero been sheriff then, I know he would have prevented the collusion within, he would have called in another agency to do the investigation. He would have put a stop to Perdock having any access to the boats, reports or other officers. He would have put him on administrative leave until the investigation was over with. Rivero would never have restricted an investigator to, who he could or couldn't speak to.

Every Law Enforcement member of the Lakeport Police Dept. is a member of PORAC, just as is every member of Clearlake Police Dept., every member of the Deputy Sheriff's Assoc. and all but one or two of the Correctional Officer's Assoc. Also, all of the probation officers in Lake County belong to PORAC, a 63,000 member strong association.
 

Rod Mitchell should be more concerned about avoiding going to jail then being elected again. I think the changes are quite good that he will see the inside of his own jail one day quite soon. Remember the Orange Co. Sheriff who didn't pull half what Rod does and he's enjoying his stay in the slam.

With a new Attorney General with a strong record of prosecuting corrupt political officials from Rod's own political party coming in soon he is skating on very thin ice.
 

The California Peace Officers Association and PORAC (Poeace Officers Research Association of California) and two separate organizations. Most California police unions such as DSA or POA's are now members of PORAC. They are not necessarily members of CPOA which take independent membership. Check their web sites to learn what each does.

Bottom line is that Rodney Mitchell is not supported by all county law enforcement. That's just one more of Rod's false statements to fool the community just as he does with his mud slinging and scare tactics.

Doesn't Sonoma Co do that for non-violent possession cases, first time offenders? I'm not sure if they have a diversion, or the DA might put them in drug court. Still it's a burden on the DA.

It takes county money to process and try these people. It's a waste of time. A diversion would free up the DA's office to pursue other cases, like domestic violence. Also, instead of having half conscious battery victims who can't remember their name, can't count the fingers on their hand from violent head trauma-(I'm talking non domestic battery victims found bloody along the road, at the scene of a fight etc...)- who somehow don't want to press charges.. Now you can arrest and charge a suspect! Or at least write a report and forward it to investigations,maybe the DA.

Remember the kid who was beat with an ore at Konocti Harbor Resort and spa several summers ago? Beat with an ore, head caved in. Left for dead. In the water down at the docks. He was asked if he wants to press charges. He was not coherent. The suspect is known. No arrest was made. I have tens of examples of crap that this.

Back in the day I can remember being told not to arrest a few domestic violence suspects simply because "these people have problems they need to work out" "were not paying the booking fee". 13710 Blown off. "Un handcuff em"..

Take home cars has nothing to do with res[ponse times deputy and you know it. It's a perk but based on the poor pay and benefits you receive I see no problem with it. It must be a controlled perk and not just a free ride.

Rivero did say he was considering eliminating the take home car program then he studied the issues further and changed him mind. He talked to Baxter who pointed out a number of positive features that could work better while keeping the program. He's flexable and open to new or different ideas when they make sense. I don't think you have any worries about losing your car deputy but I do think you will find yourself held accountable for your actions. A good thing and in the long run you will agree also.

Baxter came out and said he was supporting Rivero since he was the only one of the two willing to consider change. Mitchell wants business as usual and to be able to continue what he's been doing, lying and cheating the public. Rivero asked him to consider being his Undersheriff if the position was approved by the BOS. If he takes the job it would be for the same reason he ran for office to give something back to the community. He has ideas, experience and good connections around the country. He is a respected professional LEO with a proven record of leadership, much more then Mitchell ever had. We would be lucky to have him and the deputies would be much better off for it since he is reasonable and openminded and not a vindictive prick like RKM.

Ringen speaks for himself. His history and statements say all we need to hear from the likes of him. Even Mitchell had no time for him and dumped him the first chance he had. Why he is really back sucking up to Rod in a mystery.
 

We all hope an evil sinner like Rod Mitchell would come forward and ask the Lord's forgiveness and accept Jesus as his Lord and savior but that's not the case. He's used those words to cloak himself in religeon to cover his many sins. He says he's a new man and has learned from his former ways then continues with his lyes, slander and negative campaigning. I had to laugh recently. I was driving in a residential neighborhood the other day and noticed a LCSO patrol car parked in front of a house. Obviously a deputy lived there and that was his take home car which would enable him to spring into action and respond to fight crime at a moments notice. Two doors down in the front yard of one of his neighbors was a bell on a hook and right in plain sight where everyone could see it. It was a lawn decoration. Now, that's no big deal until you looked and it said "El Camino Real" property of the California State Historical group that has set them up along the old ECR (Hwy. 101). I'm sure we've all seen them many times and paid for them too. They certainly have not been issues to the citizens of California as lawn decorations. Now these bells aren't sold to the public so what do you think it could be? Stolen property perhaps.

Now I'm really not saying the deputy should go next door and bust his neioghbor. Perhaps he could suggest to him that this bit of stolen property may have been dropped from a flying saucer and he could offer to return it to its rightful owner. Us, the citizens of California.Thank you Rod Mitchell for moving your crime fighting deputy into the neighborhood to keep an eye on another criminal in case you need to take action. How many years has he been watching it? LCSO under Rod Mitchell is a joke.
 

Ordinarily I would agree Red but sadly Rod Mitchell has embraced Clint Fitzgerald aka kkklint as a valued member of his campaign. To allign himself with such a character discredites the entire LCSO and the office he holds. Don't you agree?

We pay him to know about everything in his department. I'm just a little protective of the deputies and officers. I'm pro law enforcement.

Frank has allot to offer and changes should be made, I will grant you that. However if a cop is attacked I go into watchdog mode. It's what I am.
