This Blog is dedicated to getting rid of Sheriff Rodney Mitchell by voting him out of office on November 2nd. From the beginning it has made no bones about supporting Frank Rivero for that office. After a lot of hard work by Frank and dedicated community members Frank suceeded in winning the primary election. Now it's between Frank Rivero and the incumbent Rodney Mitchell to determine who will be our next Sheriff.

Frank won the primary and sent a clear message to everyone. That does not get him in office and this election could still be lost if we get complacent and don't stand up and work to make it happen. It's good to continue discussing the issues on this Blog. We laugh and fight and argue but that is not enough. We must stand together in support of Frank Rivero for Sheriff by volunteerng to help out, donating money to his campaign and contacting out friends, family and neighbors, co-workers and strangers to convince them to join us in supporting Frank Rivero. We must encourage those who are not registered to vote to get registered and to get out and vote. If necessary we must help those who lack transportation to the polls. Write letters to the Editor of the Record-Bee and the LCN and let your voice be heard. Please do whatever you can to help Frank Rivero be elected and to get rid of the corrupt incompetant sheriff we now have in office. Do it for yourself, do it for your family and do it for your community.

If all were to come to pass then it's quite obvious, we the tax payers would pay for re-certification which would be money well spent if we could save on law suites against the county and the LCSO. Why won't Rodney Mitchell send his Captains or Lieutenants to the FBI's National Academy. Is it because he never went or because he doesn't want them coming back trained in leadership and supervision. An entirely new concept in that department.

Oh the Mitchell boys and girls hate the idea of Baxter's support don't they. Well they should because that endorsement and his participation in the campaign is the death nail for Mtichell. This is the reality, and they know it. We expect many dark and low attempts to come from the Mitchell camp between now and November. However they have exposed themselves to soon, and did not realize that they should have held their hits for much much later in the campaign. Now the terrible attempts at discrediting Rivero are turning the citizens away from him. What could he do now that the citizens would not see as just another desperate attempt at holding power. As we posted earlier this morning you can see why they are so desperate. All of the collusion, and connections built up over the years are going to come to an end, we think the thing that is scaring them the most is that they cannot cover it all up. This is going to be like Nixon trying to shred all the damaging information and connections during the time he was in power. Imagine the contracts that some business's won't have anymore as everything comes under review. Imagine Cecil Brown's dad not being able to use the sheriffs resources for his business anymore. All of it is finally going to end, and the exposure when new people come in and start looking at things is going to be scathing. As well imagine the heat Brown is going to take, as all his connections to Mitchell are uncovered, imagine having two or three bail bonds men listed on the jail wall by the phone. In all reality this is one of the main reasons they are so scared right now. The GOB's of Mitchell's clan, are scared, the way they have had it for so many years is ending, and many of them will not survive it. They all know it, this is why they are so angry, this is why Borgi, is so angry. Have you ever noticed the houses that have the Mitchell signs in front of them, they are not the average citizen, they are the ones who by receiving favors and assistance from Mitchell have been doing alright in the county. The common man has been trod on for 15 years and they do not want it to end. Well we are happy to say it is going to end, and their control of the county is going to end, and all will be much better off for it.
 

27.2% of the votes cast in the primary election went to Mr. Baxter. Many of those people were former Mitchell supporters including his own Chief Deputy. These people did not want to see Rod Mitchell returned to office and they were well aware of his corrupt ways. If even half those people vote for Rivero it would be a landslide. I predict we'll see a lot more then half especially since Mr. Baxter himself has come out to support Rivero for change. Obviously Mitchell was not able to earn his support just as he has failed to earn or keep the support he seemed to have when he ran unopposed.

Remember this the only time Mitchell did run opposed he lost in the priomary then came out with his usual slander, spin and out right lies about his opponent. He used the old scare tactics that he continues to use today and unfortunately for us he won. People now see what he has done and what he continues to do and they have had more thenenought of Rodney Mitchell.

Rod was worn out his welcome in Lake County and the people want a new department, change and a new sheriff. The people will have their way in November.
 

Jack Baxter is a stand up guy. He ran and open and honest campaign free of viscious attacks, slander and lies. He asked people to listen to all the candidates not just him and to make up their own minds. Even when he came out third in the primary he continued trying to be fair to both and asked both to stick to the issues and avoid the personal attacks. Even Mitchell; himself admitted he was a gentleman and ran a decent open campaign.

Mitchell just couldn't do it nor would he come up with any ideas or acknowledge the fact that things could change for the better. He lost Baxter's support which went to Rivero who was open to new ideas. Mitchell continues to sling mud at everyone. His supporters do his dirty work trying to plant suspicion, fear and doubt in the community just as he did in 1994. It worked then and we lost the change of having a good sheriff in Joe Totorico and got stuck with Mitchell. I don't believe it will happen again. Keep it up Rod, you just lose votes with everything you and your pals do.

Why can't you stick to the issues Rod. Why must you sling your mud and have your stooges do your dirty work. You are a coward and a crook and everyone can see it. I hope Rivero stomps you in November and you'll get what's been coming to you for years.

We haven't really gone there, and see no need to at this point in time. We are going to be reinforcing our original commitment to the goal of this site which is the removal of Mitchell and of course Hopkins which has already happened. In our planning and as you can tell we have been hitting Mitchell and the GOB's very hard, and we will continue to do so up to the November election. We want to try to really keep the heat on them and therefore a lot of our time is going to be given to that end. Mitchell violated this in Perdocks boating accident. Policy says: always get someone else to investigate a member of the Department involved in a major incident. (Mitchell supporters that's the boating accident) and who did the investigation, that's right the Lake co. Sheriff's department. A clear violation of Departmental policy. Mitchell and Perdock brought disgrace upon the Department and Lake Co. both should have been fired period. Is our time to fire sheriff Mitchell.

Baxter coming on board the train for change, and the Rully incident has cost him votes, Beland, Wright, Moreshed, Smith, Garzoligate, FPPC investigation, Homeland security investigation which are both ongoing, Dinius, Lynn Thorton, Tribal relationships, Hispanic relationships, association with Rob Brown, the Kip Ringen secret meeting in Brown's office, with Ford and Mitchell. Those are some of the recent ones, just to display that the trend continues. Isn't it time? Can you really try to justify anything, about Mitchell without losing all credibility. You can continue your attempt to bring Rivero down to Mitchell's level but you must be intelligent enough to realize that it simply cannot be done.

You know it is time for change, and most of all it is not the change to a certain person, it is the controls, the input the oversight the citizens will have. Though Frank will be the individual putting the system in place, it will be with a huge amount of citizen input and oversight. The only thing that is an absolute requirement is the removal of Mitchell, he is to much of an old world thinker, not able to break out of his paradigms.

I have to laugh, I was at Rivero's shooting. Rivero's shooting was within policy. He received no punishment what so ever. The guy jumped out a second story window and could not be found until the next day by SWAT. Brown, Hall and even Mitchell arrived later and had no negative comment about Rivero's shooting.

We had to take a bit of time to look into this situation, but what we have found out is terrible, and it has cost a man his life. We have been contacted by people at Robinson's, we are quite concerned on this one and we will be pushing this further to see exactly what level of crime the LCSO has committed. Here is the situation, as many of you will recall, there was a death of an individual who was in a wheel chair and he was struck by a car on hwy 20. As usual no on has the story right and here is the truth. The Tribal force at Robinson's called the sheriffs department, when this man was leaving the casino, he was drunk and they feared for his life. The response when they called the sheriffs office was this "Call the CHP it is not our problem!!!!" In the process of trying to contact the CHP and then during the time of waiting for them to arrive because the sheriffs department would not respond, he wheeled himself onto HWy. 20 and was killed. To us at the very least this is manslaughter and worst this is another case of murder by the Lake County sheriffs department. Your thoughts and input?

As for a wheel chair drunk, it is the policy of LCSO to arrest someone for Public Intoxication. Sorry but a disabled person in a wheel chair does not meet the definition of a vehicle. Numerous case laws have stated this. That is why they can drive on the sidewalk and other areas not authorized by a vehicle. I'd love to see a CHP officer due FST's on a paraplegic.

I must step in here. From what I have read Mr.Rivero was arrested three times and convicted of nothing. You add how many times Mr Carter has been arrested, which is irrelevant since Mr Rivero is not responsible for the behavior of his supporters. We all know, especially Mr Dinius that being arrested does not mean that you are guilty. My concerns are that if I am not a Sheriff's employee or friend that I would be treated with the same disdain as the man in the wheelchair, if I needed to be protected and served. Why do you think the citizen's pay you guys, just so you can serve and protect each other and either ignore or harrass the rest of us?

Post 6;48. Not true that I hate all officers or all county employees. you are in error and what you said is from lack lake of understanding. I did all California and this county ask of me. They took my money and assumed that they would take charge to make sure all work was done to code. My government is not to lie when things go wrong but to correct and not become dishonest. So what do they do? Start to lie from the start then it would lead to cover all the lies up. The contractor had a license from California. How was I to know if he is honest or not? The State did in time took his license from him. My point is and has been all these years, The our government should lot lie. Then gave their problem to me. I say no thank you. I say again the Dinius case was no shock to me.
 

Now we find out that it was Rivero's own background investigator who made that inflamitory one page article in the RB.

Here is a man who is a retired lieutenant, conducted 100's if not 1000's of backgrounds and now says Rivero is a criminal. Rivero had no problem passing a background check done by Bob, done by SFPD and done by the Coast Guard. No conviction on Rivero's criminal history and any arrests were done back when he was a kid.

Mitchell on the other hand can't even supervise two out of four command staff members. He could not control Perdock from a simple thing as accessing the Dinius report to allowing his mechanic access to evidence. Mitchell couldn't control Garzoli's sexist actions in the office to his famous helicopter stunt costing the county a lot of money.

Now Mitchell has four EEOC complaints against him, the law suit by Dinius and a soon to be suit by other deputes. The DSA states they support Mitchell but I have to this date not seen any article from the DSA stating how they feel about the above incidents.

Remember, Mitchell was nothing more than a sergeant supervising only 4 deputies before becoming Sheriff. Rivero owned two businesses, had contracts with several counties and has shown a history of standing up to corrupt politicians.

This one for sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment for one of the female employees. This one directed at Rod personally. What did you do this time Rod? Another week has gone by and we are closer to the election. I know you are all doing your part to see that Mitchell gets the bums rush and Rivero is voted in to office. What shakes me to my core is that so many would keep Mitchell after they know what was pulled on a citizen. Then call us names because we would like our bureaucrats to be honest.
 

Another EEOC for is no surprise. What is a surprise is that he still has so many employees and former employees intimidated so they fear coming forward with the truth. There are a lot of people out there that Rod has treated unfairly and they need to stand up and speak out. His time will soon come to an end but you need to do your part to make sure it happens.
 

James, you are right. I think some if it is that these people are intimidated by the little twerp. Others are just complacent and have no clue as to what's going on here. Still others have business interests that depends on Rod to sent business their way while others feel guilty for their own past sins that Rod knows of.

What's the story on EEOC complaints? I understand how and why one might be made but once it is made what are they supposed to do with them? Who do they go to, the Sheriff or the county and what's the time limits? Who investigates these complaints, the sheriff himself?

Hey corruption supporters I hate to tell you but there has never been a documented election, where the outcome was said to be determined by the number and sizes of signs. It was estimated that in the primary Mitchell had twice the numbers of signs then Rivero, and of course he lost the primary. So hate to burst you little corrupt bubble, but it just doesn't work, never has. One effect it does have is it turns off the public and to many signs dulls the citizens to the point where they simply do not even pay attention to them. Only the small minded think that you win an election by putting up signs, which must explain why the Mitchell kids get so excited about signs...LOL

Next interesting note, anonymous sources are indicating that a disinformation campaign has been started by the Mitchell gang, including Joe Ford, this campaign is such that they are trying to get LCN and Rivero mad at each other. What they are reported to be doing is feeding LCN negative information such as the problems with their web site is coming from the Rivero supporters, when in fact the hacking and attacking of the LCN page is actually coming from the Mitchell camp, and they are trying to spin Elizabeth and John to think it is the Rivero side. We know the Joe Ford method of operation quite well, and this would fit perfect into that kind of a scam. What Mitchell Ford and the boys don't realize is we have seen this way to many times, and we will be sure that the record is clear on this and their little attempts go no where. More to come on this at a later date.

We are still looking into the death of the wheelchair victim who the sheriffs department would not respond to. This is not a pretty picture, and we believe that call can be gotten as part of public records. More to come on this at a later date as well.

Good morning Lake County that is our morning update, yesterday was another huge day of comments and posting, and the only thing we can add to that is it appears the Kip Ringen is attempting without using his name to discredit Rivero. As all of you know we blew his "Write in" plan out of the water by exposing he secret meeting he had. Now it may be that he has cut a deal with Mitchell, not on the record, but behind the scenes that if he does do some dirty work for Mitchell, and Mitchell were able (which he won't) to pull off a victory he would take care of Ringen. We will never see that come to fruition, but the exposure of the attempt is what we want to put out there to the citizens.

Perdick has testified at least six times and has yet to tell the same story twice. He was never charged with any thing thanks to his best friend Mitchell's investigation. Not one of the nine witnesses who testified to the lights being on is listed in the Witness list turned over to the DA yet they were on the list obtained by BoatUS days after the investigation. perdick boozing at Konocti also was not mentioned in Mitchell's investigation. Until perdick and those who helped in the cover are prosecuted no I will not give it a break!!

You can continue your attempt to bring Rivero down to Mitchell's level but you must be intelligent enough to realize that it simply cannot be done.

With all the disasters within the Lake Co. Sheriff's Department. I have to question Sheriff Mitchell integrity as well as the Departments. Police Corruption starts at the top and goes down. Officers watch how the Administration treats fellow officers doing the same job. Does the Administration favors one Deputy over another, can one Deputy can get away with something, that others will be punished for?
Law Enforcement officers, observe the Administration. Just like they do suspects and the General Public. They watch how the Administration deals with an incident and the officer(s) involved. If the Administration fails to take corrective action within a reasonable time period, that becomes an acceptable behavior.
The Administration sets the "tone" for the Department. It took Sheriff Mitchell years to fire Perdock. This sent a clean message out to all employees within the Department. Being a close friend to Sheriff Mitchell, you will have years of protection. If your not close to Sheriff Mitchell then you will feel his vindictiveness very fast. Garoli's incident shows how Mitchell protects his close friend for months.
Look at Morshed, Beland, they felt Mitchell vindictiveness ASAP. Both may file lawsuits against the County. Vote for Rivero

It seems The counties insurance company will not pay punitive damages but by suing as individuals the individuals would be liable. I recently started reading this blog and I must say alot of it is true and I agree with alot of people. I wanted to state something in all fairness. Regarding Derek Navarro. I firmly believe that not all deputies are guilty and my reason being that I personally babysat for Derek and his family for many years. I am almost 30 and never once did Derek do anything that would make me think otherwise. He was always kind and nice and always was very respectful. Many people do not know exactly what this 16 year old and her family were about. Derek had signed to purchase a place from these people and when it fell through and Derek backed out and him and the family moved these charges popped up. for one every time they tried to interview the girl she was never available. when they went to talk to the friend she denied everything. the girl has a history of drug abuse which other people wrote statements about. If these charges were so serious why have so many been dropped and why can they still not prove anything. Just like with rivero they are keeping things tied up because rod mitchell and certain da would have to admit a mistake. I understand where alot of citizens and parents come from but as a parent myself i can stand up and say that mitchell is wrong on this one (not like it's his first screw up) they charged navarro before ever investigating I personally saw reports and allegations and I stand up for Derek just as I stand up for Rivero. Love this sight i am glad people can voice concerns and facts.

i know that everytime they try to go to court the da has put it off and postponed asking for more time to put the case together. as of now i am not 100% on an exact date i know that about 6 trial dates have been set and postponed so far. havent heard a date yet

Good morning James. I disagree with you in part about the Grand Jury in LC. I believe most are good citizens who want to do their duty and do things properly. They dedicate a lot of their time to this task. The hang up is the DA controls the Grand Jury and they seem to stear them to just what they want them to see.

At times it seems the GJ is stacked by their own special people or at least in a leadership position. This can be done since a Judge picks the names from the hat. Many of the recommendations of the GJ over the years have been received and ignored by the county especially those critizing Mitchell. It has become a GJ in name only. What it boils down to is Mitchell's wanting some input from his GOB's only, not much and nothing critical. He ignors what the public has to say and he is not open to constructive criticism in any way.
 

Rodney has not held a Citizens Academy in over three years yet now that he's running for office he decides to hold one. He ignors the valuable work done by the few volunteers until he's running for office. He has nothing original going until he's running for office then he drags out the old tired programs he's claimed whch exist in name only. Politics as usual.

Frank Rivero and the LCSO Deputies both have some major fence mending to do. Both need to reach out to oneanother and set aside past differences and learn to work together.

Rivero needs to let the Deputies know what he expects of them and assure them he does not plan to come in with a big broom to sweep everyone out the door. He needs to show them that his plan for change is a good one and will benefit them as well as the community. His goals and expectations are not unreasonable and they can be made to happen. I believe he will help make that office one we can respect and be proud of.

I hope the top commanders at the LCSO will also reach out and talk to him. You are going to have to work together because I believe Rivero will soon be your boss. You may be able to stone wall for a while but even you can be replaced if you are not willing to do your job. This is something that should not happen and it will not happen if both sides are willing to come together as one.

Just think you may even be able to speak freely in the office and not be looking over your shoulder for the sheriff or checking under the stalls for feet before opening your mouth. You may even be able to submit constructive criticism and share the good ideas you've had that Mitchell has ignored because they were not his own.

Work together. Call Rivero and talk to him, no one is going to know and we will all be better off for it.

All used to cover up if need be. I do not think the citizen is the problem but the bureaucrats seeing to their good over what is right. A wrong is a wrong only they will make it right for them. Perdock did not retire on a disability he was terminated by Mitchell when he wasn't able to cover it up. He bacame a political liability so Mitchell dumped him like a hot potatoe which is what he always does. Pay attention Deputies, you could be next.
I believe Perdock can claim his retirement aftrer a certain age just like anyone else who has worked and paid into the system for many years.

I mentioned earlier that I thought Rivero needed to mend fences with the Deputies and I believe that to be true. That's still a two way street and I think there are some deputies who need to mend fences also. You will all need to work together after January so it's time to get along and stick to the business at hand which is reorganization and community service. If you do not feel capable of serviing the community who pays your salary then maybe you do need to start job hunting.
 

It looks like Mitchell and his mob are back to their same old tricks they pulled in the primary, stealing, knocking down and defacing his oponents signs. These people do not learn that lies and deceit just don't work here anymore. People are wise to you and they don't like it. You lose votes and alienate more people with every underhanded trick you pull.
 

Mitchell is now trying to wrap himself in the American flag by placing one on his campaign signs. What a joke. A draft dodging non-veteran and corrupt politician using the flag. I guess Jesus didn't work when you tried to reinvent yourself not the flag.
