This is the Lovelace Group of Lake County and this is our Blog page. This Blog is dedicated to the good citizens of our county and with their help and dedication to change and transparency. This site now has 6 years of existence. It started several years ago dedicated to the removal of two public officials holding office in our county. Sheriff Rodney K. Mitchell and District Attorney John Hopkins. As our group began to look at the actions and incidents of corruption, elitism, and crony-ism that was entrenched in our local governmental system it became clear that something must be done to change the course of the past 15 years. Lake County is one of the lowest rated counties in the state from health criteria to water quality. Meth is still a severe issue, tourism is dying, and housing value is stagnant. Our lake is dying due to total government mismanagement. Change is needed. A model was created, this model was based upon the use and concept of social communications and Internet dialog to promote public awareness and further the cause of radical change in our community. By various means we brought our site to the attention of the citizens and public officials in our county. Now approaching one million comments, several elections, and an amazing county, state and country wide audience we are pressing forward for even greater social change and policy restructuring within our county. Environmentally and from a governmental failure, our county is dying.
What has been accomplished thus far would have been hard to imagine 48 months ago. Sheriff Rodney K. Mitchell has been removed from power, District Attorney Jon Hopkins has been removed from power. One of the driving forces for the exposure and removal of these two corrupt individuals is a terrible incident involving a boating accident on our local lake when a sheriff's deputy named Russell Perdock drove his speed boat at high speed in the middle of the night over the top of a sail boat just leaving the docks with running lights on killing at a far to early age a beautiful women name Lynn Thorton, at the helm of the sailboat was Bismarck Dinius. What followed is hard to imagine. Then sheriff Mitchell and DA Hopkins charged Bismarck Dinius with the death of his passenger Lynn Thorton and protected their deputy Russell Perdock, charging him with no crimes. During the course of the criminal trial cover-ups, illegal actions, jury tampering, and a host of other issues spelled the doom of Mitchell and Hopkins and the total unanimous jury acquittal of Bismarck Dinius. A federal civil rights trial of massive proportions has been settled in San Francisco federal court with several million dollars going to Mr. Dinius. Both Mitchell and Hopkins were key individuals in the attempted prosecution of Bismarck Dinius and cover-up of the truth of the accident. With this incident in mind we launched the sheriff Mitchell Watch Blog, of which our URL remains the same but our Blog name has now changed to Lake County Government Watch. During the adventures of our first year we were able to elect Sheriff Frank Rivero into the sheriffs position. For 4 years running the GOB network has attacked sheriff Rivero. A phony Brady process by DA Donnie Anderson, a Trumped up recall attempt by Brian Martin and Rob Brown, and a vote of no confidence by the BOS were some of the constant attacks by this elitist network. Now in the recent election, the local media showing no journalistic integrity has assisted in taking our sheriff out of office, he is being replaced by a Good Old Boy who is directly connected to former sheriff Rodney Mitchell. Although we will have one or two new supervisors in district's 2 and 3, we are saddened with the loss of sheriff Rivero. Sheriff Rivero was of Cuban blood. The severe racism still embedded in the power brokers of Lake County and their family and friends remains a major issue. However we are steadfast in our dedication to you the people of this county and of furthering transparency, honesty, and government integrity in our county and beyond.
What we have found during the course of our own investigations in the county is stunning to say the least. It was discovered that a local Internet paper called Lake County News run by Liz Larson and her husband John, in our opinion were in collusion with local government officials. We then exposed this paper for its biased and fascist operations discrediting their reporting and any semblance of credibility they once had. The Record Bee has done no better and due to a massive amount of pressure local editor Mandy Feder is leaving the paper. Both papers outright attacks on Sheriff Rivero scraped the bottom of journalistic integrity. One of the more significant discoveries also exposed several of our local Board of Supervisors to the citizens scrutiny. Most significant is Rob Brown, whom we continue to bring the light of transparency and exposure to his actions and Neanderthal approach to governance.
As together we continue our Blog and our efforts towards community awareness and change we want to thank the many citizens from deputies current and former to just good folks helping and offering assistance.

Those that have the power and control will not give it up easily. Does anyone find it rather sad, that after 20 years of total failure and the LC being the lowest ranked county in the state that the GOB's someone keep saying Rob's our man, and we are the GOB's you would think they would be ashamed and want to improve our county. It is in the grape growers interest to keep the county stagnant.
When the prime land has been planted in grapes and the lake is destroyed only the grapes will survive. If grape growing depended on tourism they wouldn't allow the lake to die but as the lake dies property values will stay low and promote more grape growers.
A dead lake equals a dead county but what the heck they sell their wine all over the world not here so why should they care?

LCN has two articles next to each other, one is the yes on N people and the other is that Lake County's unemployment rate is more than 30% higher than the State average. Yes, 8:25 AM, the unemployment rate could have something to do with crime. However, those who grow MJ for profit often don't work and are part of those unemployment statistics. Good morning Lake County and the citizens of. This is the Lovelace group with a short morning message. We want to thank everyone participating on the Blog this past week. As we anticipated the numbers would increase dramatically centered around the elections, and they have. In fact we are now averaging over 1000 pageviews a day for the past week. No other communication system for the citizens as close to this number of comments and pageviews. We are grateful for such support and it points to the extreme concerns the citizens of our county have for our future and the necessary change our county needs. As all of you know the GOB network has been in charge of this county for beyond 20 years, and in that time they have taken this county down to the lowest rated county in the state. It is impossible to grasp, based on this record of performance how any individual associated with this network (such as Brian Martin) can attempt to justify asking the citizens to cast a vote in their favor. The reasons — cancer, stroke, drug abuse, accidents, heart disease, liver failure, suicide, guns — reveal a constellation of ills at rates disproportionate to the rest of the state, reflecting the county's rural culture and geography, as well social determinants like poverty, unemployment and substance abuse.

Yes it is sad that these mutant malcontents have destroyed the peoples county and ranked us at the lowest of the low yet for some reason feel the deserve to remain in power. I was sitting in the row fairly close to Don's crew, can I just say what a bunch of rude aholes. The most prominent ahole seemed to be Borg, he sat there scoffing and laughing when ever Andre was speaking - I'm sure he thought he was cute but some of us didn't appreciate his rudeness. I heard him say at one point that Ross is an idiot. Did anyone else notice how late Brian Mitchell was? And how breathless he looked when he came in? My guess is when his buddies from the DA's office saw that both Rivero and Chalk were there they must have texted BM and told him to get there pronto so the other two couldn't hog the limelight. I felt at the end that Ross did do a great job hammering Don and Don looked rather stupid at times. Funny how it wasn't front and center on the LCN or RB this morning - do you suppose they thought it didn't go well for Don either? It was especially funny when Ross told Don he may be popular with his office staff but he ain't so popular with the general public. I was sitting on the other side of the room and also saw which DDA's came to support Don, sure didn't seem to be too many of them and the most glaring missing one was Hinchcliff. What was up with that? When Don mentioned that he had one of his female investigators in the room then he sat smiling at her - was it me or did he look a bit long with that desperate smile - it kind of looked creepy - then a short time after that a woman from his group got up and left with her two kids. Was that his investigator? And did she leave because Andre had mentioned that he planned to find out what the investigators have been doing and why. If the RIMS contract belongs to the county why did Lakeport Police or Clearlake PD have to purchase their own which can be connected with the Sheriff's RIMS. It's no different than any other contract made by any department - it is paid for with county funds - in this instance - allotted to LCSO - and administered by the Sheriff's Dept. or the PDs depending on who paid the bill. If Anderson wants RIMS so bad why doesn't he just purchase his own system instead of bitching so much? Would Anderson and his bunch like it if every agency had access to his data base system and if he would like others "updating" aka changing info? I doubt it. From what I know, no agency should be altering another agencies records without their permission as how would the record holder verify in court that the records are accurate if they had no control over what was altered?

Well the fact of the matter is your correct 450. In the long run a few plants will be grown for anyone who wants their own MJ. In the same manner as tomatoes are grown now. Their will be complete freedom to grow as you want and what variety you want. Being a federal schedule one drug now, is only because the powers that be cannot figure out or want to figure out how to make their own money off of it. The complaints you here about smell or other "neighbor" complaints are very very few when you look at the total amount grown in the county. The supervisors and other GOB's simply use that as an excuse to attempt to monitor it. If it gets taken off of schedule one, which it will then the flood gates will open and all this will be a moot point. Once totally legal, the cartels and anyone else who is growing for a profit will be gone. The irony is the only reason it is an issue now is the very fact the stupid feds keep it as a schedule one drug!!! Now that is funny. In the mean time, the LC would have been wise to embrace this economic opportunity to help the county. Of course their old world way of seeing things has not allowed it to happen. The ability to grow ones own MJ takes the largest quantity lowest price out of the equation, as the low pricing will make in nonviable to attempt to grow for a profit. Both of you should remember I have been growing my own excellent weed for over 15 years, I have in those 15 years never once paid for MJ. Not once. Now the other factor is you haven't a clue how it is grown. For example I can grow 5 lbs worth of MJ and not have it any higher then a foot off the ground. and take no more room then a few tomato plants. You see your simply out of touch with reality. For myself and many others already I could care a less about the laws, and governing statues on MJ, none of it effects me nor has it ever. P is a fantasy that will never hold up in court, O is a compromise that allows anyone who needs medicine to grow it in reasonable numbers. There are no fees for non-collective grows, there is no restrictions on how big the plants can be grown, and you can grow a plant as big as a volkswagon bug these days, so that is plenty for anyone. If the P people had left pot out of it, they might have a chance, but as long as it is illegal on a Federal level, it will NEVER stand a chance! LOL @ the fools who fall for P. If you walk the streets from Upper Lake all the way around to Clearlake and Lower Lake, then parts of Middletown, and you really look at the majority of the population, you see a down-trodden demographic, difficult to reach, and very low information. Thus the sadness of Lake County is those are the vast majority, one would suspect 65% at least. Combine that with a group of poor quality government entrenchment and you have failure in the county.

I was given an appointment in two weeks. I showed up for the appointment and was met by P.D.Deputy by the front door. I gave my info on the sidewalk in the cold. Here is some sad news, which of course you will not find in our local media as with most all we post here on the Blog. Many of you will remember the name Bob Chalk who was running for sheriff during the last campaign. Bob and his wife Barbara were in a motorcycle accident recently on Cobb mountain. They crashed their harley and are both in a Vacaville hospital with head injuries and in very bad shape. Our thoughts and prayers go out to both of them and their family during this very difficult time. We hope for a full recovery and extend our heartfelt hope for them and their family... Should anyone have any further information or future updates please post it here and keep everyone informed or their status.

Uhhhhh out of respect for the Chalks we held off on the reporting. Next since LCN is not media and pretty much dead in the county their announcement of such has no bearing on reality and 99.9% of people thus would not have read it there. We certaintly would not have of that you can be assured.

We were saved by this crazy weather we are having? Had the heat and wind stayed that fire would be rolling still devouring this county! We got luck! Hopefully the fools in charge will start control burning the areas in this county that fire bombs are waiting to go off next year?

Study: Teen Marijuana Use Does Not Cause Depression, Lung Cancer, Other Health Problems
Chronic marijuana use by teenage boys does not appear to be linked to later physical or mental health issues such as depression, psychotic symptoms or asthma, according to a study published by the American Psychological Association.
Researchers from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and Rutgers University tracked 408 males from adolescence into their mid-30s for the study, which was published in Psychology of Addictive Behaviors®.
“What we found was a little surprising,” said lead researcher Jordan Bechtold, PhD, a psychology research fellow at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. “There were no differences in any of the mental or physical health outcomes that we measured regardless of the amount or frequency of marijuana used during adolescence.”
Marijuana use has undergone intense scrutiny as several states and the District of Columbia have legalized the drug, prompting the researchers to examine whether teen marijuana use has long-term health consequences. Based on some prior studies, they expected to find a link between teen marijuana use and the later development of psychotic symptoms (delusions, hallucinations, etc.), cancer, asthma or respiratory problems, but they found none. The study also found no link between teen marijuana use and lifetime depression, anxiety, allergies, headaches or high blood pressure. This study is one of just a few studies on the long-term health effects of teen marijuana use that have tracked hundreds of participants for more than two decades of their lives, Bechtold said.
The research was an offshoot of the Pittsburgh Youth Study, which began tracking 14-year-old male Pittsburgh public school students in the late 1980s to analyze various health and social issues. For 12 years, participants were surveyed annually or semiannually, and a follow-up survey was conducted with 408 participants in 2009-10 when they were 36 years old. The study sample was 54 percent black, 42 percent white and 4 percent other races or ethnicities. There were no differences in the findings based on race or ethnicity.

Oregon governor OKs early sales of recreational-use marijuana
"The bill ... passed with significant bipartisan support in both chambers after a great deal of work by an implementation working group," said Brown's spokeswoman Kristen Grainger.
In November, Oregon and Alaska sanctioned the use of marijuana for recreational purposes in state-regulated schemes that will usher in retail pot shops similar to those already operating in Washington state and Colorado.
The votes reflect the shifting landscape for a substance that remains illegal under federal law.
The new Oregon law lets adults 21 and up buy marijuana for recreational use at medical dispensaries that choose to sell it starting on Oct. 1, said state representative Ann Lininger, a Democrat and sponsor of the bill.
Lininger said early sales will help begin to curb the black market for weed.
State Senator Floyd Prozanski, a Democrat and another bill sponsor, said the state will keep the medical and recreational marijuana markets separate once the recreational shops are up and running.
The law contains a provision that ends the sale of weed to recreational users at medical dispensaries on Dec. 31, 2016.
The purchases will be tax-free until January 2016.
Dominic Corva, executive director of the Seattle-based Center for the Study of Cannabis and Social Policy, said Oregon's short-term fix is more radical than the regulated approach taken by Colorado.
"It starts legal sales without a seed-to-sale tracking system. It gets people used to the idea that they can go and buy cannabis," Corva said.
