Cops gave several reasons why medical marijuana dispensaries should be banned in the San Mateo County city just south of San Francisco, according to SF Weekly. One is that 25 indoor pot farms were discovered in Daly City in 2011, according to police. Another is that cannabis patients can drive to San Francisco -- or get their medicine delivered. The cops mentioned one service by name.

"There are numerous locations where Daly City residents can purchase medical marijuana within a short distance," police wrote in the report. "The Purple Dinosaur Delivery Service is one of several dispensaries that will deliver to Daly City for free with a minimum purchase of $60 dollars [sic] or there is a $5 dollar delivery fee."

It seems dispensaries were never going to be allowed in Daly City without a fight -- or some kind of violence, according to City Coucilmember David Canepa, who said that dispensaries would only be allowed "over my dead body."

The recommendations by police to go north or to get marijuana delivered also bodes well for San Francisco: three new dispensaries in the Excelsior District recently won approval, and that's just a short distance from Daly City. San Francisco is reaping huge rewards in the growing Marijuana business and continues to open and regulate thriving dispensaries.

It is not a crime to get married to provide your partner health insurance. So even if all these things you are saying about Anderson are true (which seems unlikely to me, but whatever) then so what? As long as his marriage is valid, then there is no crime. The fact that you got a form letter from the insurance commissioner doesn't change that.

It begins by locating the traditional nineteenth-century annulment-by-fraud doctrine within the realm of contract fraud, observing that in the family law context fraudulent marriages were voidable solely at the option of the injured party. The Article then explains how, in the twentieth century, a massive expansion of public benefits tied to marriage prompted new marriage fraud doctrines to develop in various areas of the law, shifting the concept of the injured party from the defrauded spouse to the public at large. It proposes a framework for understanding these new doctrines by demonstrating that courts apply different tests for finding fraud depending on the value of the benefit sought compared to the cost to the individual of using marriage to obtain it. Furthermore, the Article argues that marriage is an ineffective means for distributing public benefits that serve specific objectives; in other words, marriage is being asked to do too much work. As a possible response to this problem, the Article concludes that lawmakers could disaggregate the components of marriage to which they attach public benefits. There really is no reason to try and debate the issue of "Marriage of convenience" the term is used widely from immigration cases to murder for insurance cases to exactly what is being reported in connection with the DA. If in fact it is agreed that a marriage is done for the sole purpose of providing health or other public funded insurances to a spouse but then determined that it was only for such purpose and facts show a living condition not generally agreed to be of a "husband and wife" traditional setting then the individuals involved can be in serious trouble, the jeopardy is increased in regards to public and or elected officials. How much is objective and how much is subjective in regards to the investigation first lies with the fraud investigator, his determination will hold great weight with the courts as well as the importance of witness's who confirm the allegations of "bragging" or describing what they have done and the purpose of such an arrangement(marriage) by the one accused(in this case Anderson). However this is a government agency, so them doing nothing would not be surprising and them throwing the book at Donny would not be surprising. One never knows.

There is also another interesting situation in this changing Lake County political environment. Can everyone agree that each and everyone of our elected officials is beginning to understand what is happening via the success of this site in its exposing of everything from the bias of LCN to the actions of Rob Brown etc etc. You can bet each one of these supervisors is checking their 700 from real real careful. You can bet that many wrong or illegal actions that would have normally happened are now not happening. If you don't think this increased public scrutiny, investigations, and reports to whistle blower agencies has not had a dramatic effect on these elected folks then I got a 1950 single wide in Clearlake for 100,000 to sell you.

If the marriage is valid under California law, there is no further inquiry into how the parties conduct themselves. If Anderson had been married to his wife prior to the "cancer" issue that would be one thing BUT the cancer issue is what will come back to bite him/them. The county's insurance provider is NOT going to want to pay out the big $$ that goes along with cancer once they hear about this and look back and see the date of Mrs. Anderson's cancer diagnoses and then compare it to the Anderson's date of marriage. I would suggest that someone contact the county's insurance carrier and let them know of these suspicions IMO!

P.S. To the bleeding heart who said "who cares if the taxpayers are paying for this, at least it is doing some good". Cancer is sad for anyone BUT I don't see the county paying for my loved one's cancer treatments! So we taxpayers shouldn't have to pay for Mrs. Andersons,,,,,

There are those that grow for the purpose of using the seeds of a pollinated female plant, distance from the grow area is important to stop cross pollination, and many countries such as Canada are in the process of having to work through where Fiber only Females are grown and where and if seeded plants can be grown, MJ in Canada the THC kind is a multi-hundred million dollar industry in Canada, harming it would really hurt the Canadian economy.

Other factors to consider in the growing of Hemp are.
1. High water requirements (negative)
2. Self weeding...positive
3. crop rotation to prevent disease only every 4 seasons....positive
4. Rapid growth maturity means very little pest issues as they cannot establish themselves....positive
5. Clay soils need a lot of conditioning as Hemp responds to well drained loam soils....negative

LCN and the RB fully supported the street tax measure in Clearlake that was rejected. LCN and the RB fully supported the BOS wanting to increase the sales tax. All failed terribly. The citizens of the county understand the bias, and they understand it well. The problem is that none of you nor those media outlets want to grasp this reality. Thus your theory is flawed. You must remember that Mr. Martin has a ton of baggage and none of it has been used against him yet. You really are out of touch with how this campaign is going to go down. Slow down and understand there is a lot coming the GOB's way in the next election and for Martin none of it is pretty. Plus when you look at the sheriffs record of LE enforcement judgment criteria, crime stats, public confidence, deputy customer service, crime eradication, budget control, Not to mention slamming the people the public hates most the BOS, you have a tall hill to climb to take him out of office. Not sure whom you are talking to 610 but there is a record of performance here on the Blog that is quite stunning and impressive over the past 4 years, you should read the front page overview and you will have better idea of how the process we use has worked. One perfect example is our major attack and exposure of LCN, they were the darling of Lake County when we came on the scene. Lizzy was contacting us on a daily basis to get information, for a short time we assisted her until we realized she was covering for the GOB network and was a GOB herself, thus we cut her off and began to investigate what she was up to. Once we were finished with LCN they no longer were running the debates, they were totally exposed to their bias, and began to lose readers and credibility. Remember vote NO on measure L or any attempt to raise our taxes by the BOS, they have proven they cannot handle our money nor make solid progressive decisions. Measure L is just another version of the measure defeated last election. Several recommendations were made to Scott DeLeon who liked the suggestions and relayed them to Anita Grant who was going to place them in the revised measure. However this was never done because they were BOTH afraid to upset the BOS. They are both at will employees and can be fired with no cause! The recommendations were to drop the half cent tax to a quarter cent tax after one year,and drop the special interest groups as part of the oversite committee, and to having regular citizens representing the different parts of the county. Obviously as stated, this was never put into the ordinance. In addition, excess funds are to be placed in a reserve to be spent on projects which have NOT been identified, and there is not 5 or 10 year plan for any of the projects that are named in the measure. Last but not least, no where in the measure does it say what happens to the the excess funds when the measure terminates based on the sunset rule in the measure? Will the BOS spend these funds just to use the money? Will it go to the general fund? Or will they just disappear never to be seen again......lol....This measure is no better than the previous one and MUST BE DEFEATED!

1157 it is action that has been filed with the courts. It was to be expected. Rivero is named because he is the sheriff. Unless proven in court, he has no direct liability for the Deputy's actions. Actually it is the County that will be sued since the Deputy is a County Employee. As far as I know, the final report on the event has not bee released, if even finalized, by the Highway Patrol. Your post should have been more specific than just saying Frank is being sued.....
