I watched the last debate between Rivero & Mitchell on channel eight tonight and all I have to say is WOW! Anyone who has doubts about Rivero should watch it. Rivero makes perfect sense and Mitchell stinks and is nothing but a hater. As for the CHP BS it's a little too late as many citizens have already voted, myself included.

Yes 9:40- several of us watched once again the debate on TV last night. We sure are going to miss the shows when the election is over. The free, and hilarious entertainment by Mitchell will last us for quite sometime. Wonder how it feels to be the laughing Joke of Lake County. For all of you that back Mitchell. I only have a few problems with your views. First you would condemn officer Rivero on the word of a person that would put another one in jail for one of his own. secondly that is insane. That could be anyone of us Then could you bet for sure what he would do? That is what you would have me do. "Bet". No thank you. I will vote for the unknown over the one I do know. The wrong man

I am writing this letter to address the death of Lynn Thornton occurring on Clear Lake on April 29, 2006. As many of you know, the sailboat she was a passenger on was hit from behind by a speedboat operated by Deputy Russell Perdock who was traveling at a very high rate of speed between 45-50 mph on a dark night. The sailboat was slowly moving toward shore at the time of the impact.

Sheriff Rod Mitchell and DA Jon Hopkins made the decision to charge the wrong man for the accident caused by Perdock, which resulted in Lynn's death.

In my opinion, they did everything they could to protect Perdock and go after Bismarck Dinius. Despite repeated, numerous statements and letters to the court by Lynn's family, friends and me stating that the wrong man was being charged, Mitchell and Hopkins still moved forward with charging Dinius. Their whole case was based upon their belief that the sailboat did not have its running lights on.

In the Sept. 29 Sheriff's Debate hosted by the Lake County Bar Association, Mitchell made a statement that alluded to people making mistakes. He should know because he made an egregious mistake with the Dinius case by not seeing that the responsible person was charged, Perdock. Hopkins made the same mistake and I believe that strongly contributed to him being voted out of office. In one of the interviews conducted by Dan Noyes, Hopkins was asked about the fact that there were several witnesses who saw running lights on the sailboat

before Perdock crashed into it. Hopkins adamantly stated, "No, no there were not!"

The jury didn't ignore that fact and they got it right. They unanimously acquitted Dinius because they knew the wrong man was being charged. Perdock should have been charged so that Lynn's family and friends could have received justice. What makes it even worse is that Lynn was also a peace officer and it was, and continues to be an insult to her family and friends that there was no justice for her whatsoever.

It is for this reason that I fully support Frank Rivero for Sheriff. I learned about Rivero from people who live in Lake County and because of what I heard about him, I contacted him toward the end of the Dinius trial. Frank has the character, morals and ethics to be sheriff of Lake County. Lynn's family is in support of him because he had the courage to stand up and tell the truth about the case, when his job was in jeopardy for doing so. He knew the case was being handled wrong, and he spoke up. He is a man who will do the right thing for the county, not play into the good old boys club that is in control right now. I believe that he will succeed as your sheriff where Mitchell has failed.

The good people of Lake County have the opportunity to make a change for the better. It started with voting Hopkins out of office and now you have the opportunity to end Mitchell's job and vote in a man who will work very hard for you, your families and all of Lake County.

What a great day of posting yesterday, LCN and the RB were both exposed for the Mitchell shills they are and the bogus CHP endorsement was exposed big time. We have the SCARS non-reporting ongoing with Mitchell, and the hammering keeps going. Mitchell is like a punch drunk fighter saying hit me again hit me again, and of course we are obliging him at every chance we get, he sure is an easy target though!!

Wow what a great article by Dante, it is a good qustion; "who is we" when the talked about a meth lab, there are many in the county who know that Mitchell has used code to attack those he is in disagreement with and there are many examples of this, not going to go into detail at this time, but we need to get Mitchell out of here and stop the misuse of public entities for him to do his bidding or other of our government officials. Thanks Manifest again for showing your self to be a true investigative paper, not a instrument for Mitchell's use like Liz and Gary.

Hi post 229. Thanks for your complements. I was a volunteer for almost 8 years before getting kicked out due to an unfortunate incident that I allowed to happen. I do accept the blame for that, but the verbal treatment that I got from several individuals who I felt were true friends, was really overdone and very negative. It's a long story so I will not go into it any further at this time or at any time in the future on this Blog. All is OK now, but it was a long and frustrating time before things got sorted out. I sure would have appreciated the assistance of an impartial review board or a neutral arbitrator at that time. Now it's just wait and see who the next Sheriff will be, and to read the posts for their entertainment value. Have a fun??? day.

Hello this is the Lovelace group and this has been a busy day of information gathering, There are several individuals within the SO who are now coming forward and feeding us information, as you can tell by the SCARS posting of last night and this morning, we now want to if you will open a can of worms if you will and ask the following information of Mr. Mitchell: Mr. Mitchell why did Capt. Brown fail to take action on Lt. Garzoli for sexual harassment. Evidence Tech. Elona Porter complained to him that Lt. Garzoli said she could not do her job because she was not a man. Is this the reason why no female on your management staff supports you? This is significant and totally credible information being presented on this to us. We would like first to ask this question as a starter Mr. Mitchell would you like to start with an answer to this question?
 

I know nothing about signs, but I just bought me a brand new number two pencil and all the voters in my house will be filling out our ballots and sending in our votes for Rivero tomorrow. We don't really care what the deputies want, since they don't really seem to care what the citizens need. We need to feel that the LE is done in an unbiased way without favoritism. You still don't seem to understand, that we know that has not been the case in Lake Co. and if you didn't want to take the consequences of that you should have done something about it before it got to this point. Now it is too late to do anything other than pray for mercy.

Information was received today that Mitchell is going to pull out all the monetary stops in these last 10 days till the election, and that there is funding associated with this that are hard right wing neo-conservatives. Well you corrupt boys are going to be surprised, individuals and groups of citizens are setting up and will execute a hammering of significant information, which will offset any gain Mitchell is thinking will be a result from these hateful actions.

Mitchell did Ianyone you know try to walk around with photos of Mr. Rivero taken off of his own Internet page showing him on a bust in SFPD, and did those people try to tell citizens that this was Rivero in Florida dealing drugs?? You should watch you step you are being watched.

To the person who wonders where all the signs supporting Rivero are in Lakeport. There are an abudance of LCSO living in Lakeport. Mitchell lives here. Many of these LCSO's have signs and have gotten their parents and other relatives and neighbors to put up signs also. They have also gotten their wives to walk in the parades and hand out balloons, even if they didn't want to. And many did not want to. There is no way I would put up anyone's signs. Wouldn't put up Mitchell's because I wouldn't vote for him. Won't put up Rivero's because if I did the reprucussions will be swift and hard. Nothing is worse then a ticked off LE who thinks his job is in jeopardy. My vote will speak privately for itself. I won't run the risk of vandelism and harrassment by putting up a sign of Rivero's. Some People, many people, who have been asked to put up a Mitchell sign have done so out of fear. That is what Mitchell has brought to our county. Fear.

Just read Dante's article on the Manifest. My question is why is John Del Signore involved in code enforcement. He is a health inspector for the county. This guy is a real piece of work. He once ran the license plate of one of my workers. Who did a Health Inspector call, to be able to get DMV information? Del Signore's Holy than thou, power mad, arrogance is just the attitude that I want voted out of Lake County. Starting with Hopkins, Mitchell and next, Rob Brown.

Del Signore has an almost 30 year history in the Health Dept. You won't hear much good about this guy. We need to hold these people accountable. Soon you will have a link to "The Lake County Government Watch." We need to keep an eye on people like John Del Signore.

I have always been of the view that if I had meet a person that was a Mr.Smith in this government.That not only knew what a oath is but why there asked to take it. My faith in our system would not be shattered And maybe just maybe the tone to all employees would be you do not lie, cheat nor do you try to hide the lies up, would be fostered and the Dinius case would not have shook our County to its core. Ten years ago that is just what I met,bureaucrats that not only took a oath but were of the view they could lie and cover the lies up of others in our government. Those that knew and started to act as Mr. Smith knowing their government should not lie fell to the pressure of getting along , the status quo. Mitchell was one I would talk to and with his status as the sheriff could have see the Board of supervisors and said them no one is allowed to lie and need to find away to correct my complaint with employees with out covering up for those that would lie. I say to you that the Dinius case is only the tip of the ice berg. Where or how the lying started The bureaucrats have that view.
 

Al B the reason your posts were removed was not only the profanity by the Caps you used at the same time. We have several times given the overview of what is allowed and not allowed, at times we will leave profanity but no caps, not Cut and Paste, and or a constant whining at Lovelace by the corruption supporters. We have to apply the rules fairly in this area, and so your post were taken down we also explained that you could re-post and take out the caps and profanity. If a very profound post goes up yet the individual chooses to use profanity in a limited but intelligently effective manner we may choose to leave the post up. An interesting point from another hotly contested sheriff's race in Sacramento County. Here too the press demanded the candidates open their personnel file and these people stood up and declined also stating legality and precidence setting. Just another ploy by the media to get around the law and the rights of peace officers for their own purposes.
 

Another bit of new from Sacramento Co. Here too a candidates signs have been stolen but someone got a license number which came back registered to the Sac Co. SO. That thief has been suspended, will be terminated and prosecuted for theft.

The LCN run by jj and his wife are Mitchell lovers because he considers himself an influential GOB.

Once Rivero is in they will soon come crawling asking for his cooperation and they'll get it. Why? because Rivero is committed to openess and cooperation with the media where they know all to well Rod will block them out. They know what a vindictive little man he is.

Something to think about. Rivero said he was harassed by the Florida cops, but you pro Mitchell supports seen to have forgotten something about law.

The US Supreme Court in 1983 ruled against the City of Oakland in a "loitering" case. This invovlved a black male who was arrested for loitering (not near a school or public bathroom, just in a neighborhood). All judges agreed the arrest was unconstiutional and overturned the conviction.

Mitchell supporters want to state that Rivero was arrested, but failed to look at the basic fact, THE CHARGE. Although loitering is still in the Penal Code, it has been found unconstitutional.

Was these arrests made to SFPD and LCSO? It is simple, yes and does not mean a thing on two grounds (1) No conviction (2) unconstitutional arrest (illegal). Thus Rivero even has ground to sue Florida for those arrests.

In a flyer, Mitchell said Rivero took "diversion" in lue of being charged for a felony. Mr. Mitchell, if you are such as great of a cop as you say, you would know that Diversion was not part of the judicial system when that illegal arrest was made in the first place.

So what do we have:

1. An unconstitutional arrest.
2. A legal problem that had not even been developed yet.

These so called arrests 30 years ago in Florida had no charges filed and no convictions so they don't mean squat. This is just Mitchell's way of tryiing to scar the voters. This coming from a man with his own record of wrong doing.

California law enforcement does not hire people with a criminal record. Checking on a prospective employees background is a very simple process even in Lake County. SFPD, USCG and LCSO hired Rivero even though he told them about the incidents when he was a kid. This was never an issue until Mitchell lost the primary so he decided to use it as a smear. He knows it is nothing but in his sleezy way he uses this and other lies.

The reason I voted for Jack Baxter in the primary election was that it seemed he would best able to restore public faith in the LCSO and have the respect of the entire staff as well, but since Baxter isn't an option I've wondered what would happen if Rivero or Mitchell won. No doubt either man will have his work cut out for him if elected, but who has a better chance of success and what will the measure of that be?

If Rod Mitchell is re-elected things will likely stay pretty much as they are, his staff will be the same, and there will be a large segment of the law-abiding population here that will look at incidents involving the LCSO with a skeptical eye as they do today not because they don't trust an individual deputy but because they have doubts about their leader. This is a type of trickle-down effect that may not be fair or logical but the bottom line is that it isn't helpful to have a very large segment of the public thinking "Will I be the next Dinius?" when they have a contact with a deputy, our faith that we'll be treated fairly should be automatic and usually was here until recently.

If Rivero wins the public trust and support will be vastly improved on day one, there is no denying that as the primary race proved that by a large margin the voters were not satisfied with the status quo. There may be a few deputies who either decide to retire or quit, and there will certainly be a period of adjustment as changes are made meaning for a time the

department will likely not work as smoothly as it does today-plus there could be some additional costs to replace deputies. Mitchell's supporters will still trust the deputies but have doubts about their boss, and the rest of us will have trust we lost restored, that seems like the best outcome we are being offered.

Voters should also understand that Lake County's prosperity is directly tied to our image in the eyes of Bay Area residents, with a slew of high-profile lawsuits facing Mr. Mitchell that image is going to be threatened again and the best way to reduce the harm is to have Mitchell referred to as "former Lake County sheriff' in news reports. As it is the perception is that Lake County is some sort of legal Twilight Zone for visitors, there is no faster way to change that than to elect Frank Rivero and show the people who are thinking of bringing their vacation and investment dollars here that we have cleaned our own house.

Thanks Phil for that reasoned and articulate opinion piece. For many many months the Lovelace group through the Blog have exposed the idea of the citizens loss of trust and confidence in sheriff Mitchell. We have said that the current relationship between Mitchell and the citizens is an antagonistic model not a cooperative reality. We have said we are working toward the time when the citizens will be working in concert with local LE. Walking hand in hand in a mutually beneficial effort to identify crime, to set priorities and execute developed plans for dealing with those mutually identified problems on a priority basis. These concepts are lost on Mitchell and some of his supporters. They are to the detriment of Lake County and its citizens stuck in a paradigm of status quo business as usual, and we don't need to refine and evolve, we don't need citizens group, oversight committees, nor anything different then what we currently have in place. This is an old world mentality that does not serve the county and it's citizens in a mutually beneficial approach to crime, growth, and tourism. Mitchell's autocratic approach to police work, is aged and out of date and does not equate to positive change and transformation to the aforementioned cooperative approach to the public, LE relationship.

Behind the scenes in a hidden agenda that has and is being executed by Mitchell and some of his old world followers terrible attacks and character assassinations have been taking place for many years. So as to not stir up the "you guys are just conspiracy theorist" bantering we will leave it at that.

Your approach is a reasoned response to what is needed in our county if we are to heal and prepare ourselves for the future. Mitchell has indeed hurt our county and he will continue to if left in place. 10 federal civil rights lawsuits are pending with Mitchell's name as a defendant listed on them. This includes the Dinius lawsuit which will bring state and nationwide attention to our already tainted image. It would be impossible for Mitchell to effectively run our sheriffs department(not his) with so many legal issues on his plate. Thus the continued destruction of our image to the state, surrounding counties and the country will continue. Indeed it is time for change. Your opinion piece correctly points that out, despite what will be the continued diatribe of whining and no, no, no head in the sand crying some die-hard Mitchell fans will exhibit.

This elitist network of all for me none for the others cannot continue to hold the high ground, the emperor has no clothes is the perfect analogy to this current situation. Electing Frank Rivero will be the first step in our healing and movement to a more refined execution of policy based on mutual trust, transparency, and cooperation in our county.
 

We the people don't take the law into our own hands, we use the judicial system. Are you now telling me that the entire judicial system is to flawed to work properly? That just becuase Rivero is running for Sheriff he shouldn't be legally authorized to use the judicial system? If you are a cop, you need to give up your badge.

Frank stands up to corrupt politicians. He proved this in his suit against San Francisco. He fought the corrupt Coroner over a 15 year battle, sacraficing his business and family so that others would not be in the same place. He did not take the law into his own hands, he used the judicial system and it proved that the SF Coroner was corrupt.

I spoke with an officer yesterday, who told me he sent in his ballot for Rivero. He also told me there are many others. They are afraid of their boss, who will fire them if they speak out. If you don't believe me, just ask Deputy Gregor. You know he's on admin leave, but you can't even say it or you will be fired too. You have no courage and soon I hope you have no job too.

Not all Lake County Deputies are intolerant racists. I am no racist and I have always tried to treat everyone fairly no matter who they are or what they have been accused of doing. I do not go along with our DSA and their support of Rod or the way they have handled this election.

Mitchell and his gang have slammed Rivero for filing a civil suit against the City and County of San Francisco. Why? it is his right to do so and that's why the system is in place to review and correct wrongs where found.

What happened with the hair shop in Lakeport?
 

The hair shop was broken into. The money from two cash boxes were dumped out but not taken. Nothing was taken. Equipment was destroyed. The contents of all the drawers and doors and closets were dumped out and thrown everywhere. It was cleaned up and operating later that day. It will remain open. mitchell suggested that Frank resign? perdock was "ON" the payroll while on "leave"? and mitchell didn't ask him to quit. Why did perdock leave the dept. Did he go out on disability?
 

Perdock was eventually fired for lying, it was what Mitchell finally figured out he had to do to cover his own ass. he he he he he he...another deputy and their families who are not voting for Mitchell because he only cares about himself and on one else.

Attorney Masson is the premiere civil rights attorney in the country, he did not take this case on a chance. Both Mitchell and Hoppy are toast, the real question will the the criminal actions once it is reveled how Mitchell covered up for Perdock illegally how much jail time will he get when he is prosecuted by state and federal authorities based on the evidence that will come out in this trial. The polling on the election on the Manifest is looking quite good for Rivero, he has such a huge percentage lead that even if we cut it in half, for the Rivero factor via the fact the poll is on the Manifest he still wins. This is looking very positive, but our job is not done, it will take a long hard effort these last 10 days, knocking on doors, getting the word and the vote out. Knowing Mitchell is going to try last minute hate ads and being ready to counter them are all important aspects of this last 10 days. We do not want just a victory we want a landslide mandate!! We cannot rest right now, everyone you talk to everyday is important, make sure you turn any Mitchell voter into a Rivero voter, no resting yet the finish line is in sight but we still have a hard battle to the finish line!! Yes, I disagree with Paarsh's CHP endorsement. Paarsh however does not screw with people and seems to have a good balance between the letter of the law vs the spirit of the law. He stops people and checks them out, but lets them go if they are cool. He seems pro active but not too letter of the law.

For those of you who work on your own car and maybe a sports enthusiast stand up for your rights and register with SEMA. They challenge CARB and all of the executive orders that lately have had little if anything to do with the environment. also; stand up for your rights, and vote yes on prop 23. Let's get some jobs back and add a little rational thinking to California's paranoia. (This is my own opinion and has nothing to do with the Sheriff election-but has everything to do with justice and fairness).

A portion of assets ordered returned in relation to a 2009 raid of Alternative Solutions Collective in Clearlake Oaks was received by business owner Dave Moses this week.
 

"Before the preliminary hearing the DA's Office dismissed all charges against the collective and its members and the judge ordered return of all property and funds seized during what ultimately has been determined as an illegal raid," Moses said. "Now we are negotiating compensation for all property lost to destruction as a result of the illegal raid."

I subscribe to the Record Bee, and have for over eleven years. I definitely noticed over the years that the RB is biased, and that they play favorites. Since the beginning of the upcoming elections, I have noticed that the RB is very much on the side of Sheriff Mitchell. If a Newspaper takes sides, we can be certain that the reported articles will be favoring their choice, and that they will do sly negative reporting on the opponent when possible. There is no question as to whether this has been happening. I have in the past written several articles that I wanted posted in the My Opinion section, but they never made it into the column. When I personally questioned them as to why they were not published, I got several answers that to me were not acceptable, but having no say in the matter, it ended my further attempts at getting any articles published. Gary was very pleasant and understanding when we spoke, but my articles were never published. The average citizen has no control over what they decide to publish, but they have total control over what they tell us. It's not a fair way to do things, but that's the way it goes at this time. I will continue getting the paper since there is no other paper available in the area at this time. Other than the obvious biase, the Record Bee is an OK paper. Will the RB be as fair to Rivero as it presently is to Mitchell??? I will judge for myself after Nov 2nd. Anonymous me.
 

1213 I cancelled my subscripton after getting it for the last 11 years because I won't support them and their bias reporting. Read it for free online and if you see a bias article, do like I do and send a copy of it to the parent company and tell them why it is bias and that is the reson you won't pay money for the paper.

Last night someone asked if the Record-Bee would treat Rivero fairly when he's elected. I believe they will eventually.

He will be the only game in town with Mitchell gone and they need his cooperation for the news. Rivero has pledged to work with the media not against them. There are people in the local media who have acknowledged a lack of cooperation from Mitchell but they need him now. Mitchell uses them like he uses everyone. If he wasn't running for his job he wouldn't give anyone the time of day and everyone knows it.
 

Does racism rule the LCSO especially when it come to promotions? I believe racism has a part in it but I also believe the primary qualification for promotion is to be a yes man and one of Rod's gang. He wants people who will not argue or disagree with him and who will toss rose peddles in his path when he walks in. He cultivates butt kissers and back stabbers which is evident in the people he has surrounded himself with.

Because of this these same people are fighting to make sure he stays in office. He is their meal ticket and path to success. Someone new may require themn to do their jobs and treat everyone fairly and with respect.

Making a wise crack that someone is a wetback may be inappropriate but it's not a big deal if made in jest. Unfortunately in that office these remarks are made with hostility and evil intentions showing their individual racism which mirrors that of Mitchell himself.

There is no place for these attitudes in 21st century law enforcement and public service. These people must be purged from these positions of trust and be replaced by professionals.

This discussions is quite interesting and one critical fact that is pointed out is the governments assistance that in the last leak of 70,000 documents given to Wikileaks a few months ago that the exposure of those documents would cause the deaths of military and civilian operatives. This propaganda exposed by our government to stop Wikileaks turned out to be untrue and not a single mission or individual was compromised due to the exposure of this information. The Rivera is filled with Mitchell cronies who are running a very despicable system of overzealous rampage on some of the property owners there. John Stoddard has been battling them for many years, So it would be assumed that it would not be a friendly environment. However we have just received an overview from a person attending the event. The event started with some of the people running for the open positions on the homeowners association board, Frank Rivero sat right up front and listened intently to what they were saying showing respect and interest in what they had to say. During this time, Mitchell was sitting all the way in the back of the room playing with his blackberry paying no attention to what was going on. Mitchell was then introduced and no one said a word, Mitchell gave us usual diatribe, and stepped down using the word specificity only once. ;-) Rivero was then announced and the whole place applauded for him!!!! He talked clearly and with passion and received great applause when he was done. So the night went quite well and Mitchell looked and acted like an uncaring participant in the event. Great job Frank, and as usual way to cut your own throat Mitchell.

As a side note, there was the mentioned confusion as to this being a public event or just homeowners, Becky Mitchell tried to blame the Rivero campaign for the information getting out that it was for the public as well. This turned out to be a lie on Becky's part as the announcement that it was a public event was found on the web page she runs for Mitchell before she could remove it!!!! I guess when it comes to Mitchell and Becky it is dumb and dumber.

Mitchell Campaign Claims False CHP Endorsement

Local Media Complies with Obfuscating Truth

A phone call to the California Highway Patrol commissioner revealed that the recent headline in the Record Bee and Lake County News showing an endorsement from the “CHP” is a bogus headline and is a demonstration of the campaigning and collusion between Sheriff Mitchell, Lake County News and the Record Bee.

Contact has been made with the CHP and we have contacted several associated agencies. First each of these CHP outlets, which includes the Northern Division of the CHP, and the media officer of the Redding division Officer Hutsell who said this “ I suspect this is just associated with the local Clearlake division of the officers union and is only those officers at that office”.

The California Association of Highway Patrollmen (CAHP) has confirmed that this is not an endorsement of the CHP's but only the local union president of the Clearlake office, Erick Paarsch.

Officer Kelly at the Sacramento division echoed the comments of Officer Hutsell that the CHP never endorses any political individual in any race for any office. We contacted officer Tanquay of the local CHP who is the media contact but he would not comment on it, and said this was a letter from the local union in Clearlake. When asked if he thought the headline was misleading he would not comment.

Just to set the record straight, the untoward and terrible attempt at fooling the public with the "CHP" headline piece in the Record Bee and LCN. Was an attempt by Erick and Mitchell and the Record Bee along with LCN to post a phony headline trying to fool the public on the minor local endorsement which was really what the letter was Erick created. The actual letter of Erick's was indicating it was a union endorsement, in fact it was just a local Clearlake office endorsement, of which by the way they never reveled how the endorsement was agreed upon, i.e. vote etc. However the crux of the issue is not the minor endorsement letter or how it was come upon to be an endorsement, but the fact that there was collusion on the part of the above entities to post a phony headline acting as if it was a full blown CHP endorsement. They were caught red handed and they don't like that. This is what transparency is all about.
 

The polling count is increasing on the Manifest poll, Rivero is now nearly double the vote count of Mitchell, if you have not gone to the Manifest and cast your vote please do so. The system is set up so you can only vote once so it has the Mitchell supporters a bit upset. However this creates a real and accurate accounting of the vote possibility, with the exception that we realize the vote will be geared more positively toward Rivero, with it being on the Manifest, however with a double the vote county lead it does tell a story of the potential in the Nov 2nd election, as even if you take away a 1/3 of the votes accounting for bias it still leaves Rivero with a strong lead. Now the time has come for everyone to put out a massive last effort to secure the vote for Frank and we must work hard on this, hit everyone house we can, knock on doors, talk to people, grab every vote you can and turn as many Mitchell people to Rivero as possible we want a mandate from the election and a big one, let's go time is running short.

Over 80% that I asked who they will vote for, have said Rivero. Except for the phony 'arrests' thirty years ago, Rivero's record is not only clear, but exemplary. His record with SFPD shows that, with many awards over his tenure there. Mitchell's background as Sheriff is so tainted, only gobs, and people not paying attention, will vote for him. Why don't you look at Rivero's website. It clearly spells out his past. Also, do you know that the crimes Rivero had been arrested for were unconstitutional? Don't take my word, ask any deputy if you can arrest a person simply for loitering. Unless it's near a public bathroom, school or hospital the answer is "NO".
As for what Mitchell said was Diversion, Diversion was not part of the criminal justice process in the 1970’s and didn’t even get to Florida until the 1990’s. Feel free to Google it and you will see.
So who is telling the truth? Is it Mitchell who lied to the Board of Supervisors about the helicopter program? Or is it the Mitchell who allowed a mechanic access to evidence on a homicide case. Maybe Mitchell’s compassion when he refused to comfort Lynn Thorton’s family (a fellow peace officer)? Maybe the Mitchell you like is the one who publically admitted to “being asleep when it comes to supervising his managers.” Of course there is always the Mitchell whose personal life makes you feel good. Well that would be okay if Mitchell had not been publicly chastised for cheating on his wheelchair bound wife!

Mitchell was a sergeant who supervised only three deputies and a detective for only a year. Oh and a paid prisoner transport deputy for Sacramento.

Rivero was a police officer for SFPD 8 years (top of his class too)and four of them as a detective involved in high interprise drug offenses. A temporary sergeant for LCSO.

TEMPORARY SERGEANTS:
For the past 10 years, several deputies were made temporary sergeants including Samples and Perry. Do you know Mitchell made all of them full time sergeants except Rivero? So who is the racist?

RACISM
Mitchell claims no racism in LCSO, but no minorities in the deputies chain of command. the only minorities in management is two females and both refuse to endorse Mitchell.

RIVERO
Showed the racism at LCSO (Right Dutra?) and battled racist politicians in San Francisco over 15 years with his own money. He also won.
 

The thing that is most amazing to me as I have watched this campaign unfold is the people who despite the terrible record of Mitchell, the lawsuits, the illegal activity the attacking of citizens the complete lack of leadership, Dinius, Garzoligate, Beland, wright moreshed, the total failure of human resources in regards to Bryan Smith. the jail deaths, the preventable suicides and the list goes on and on. The list could go on and on. Now based on that and from a truly intellectual perspective you cannot even think about voting for Mitchell. How could a person knowing this record, and I did not even include the 10 current federal civil rights lawsuits with Mitchell's name on them as a defendant in San Francisco, how could a person actually destroy their own credibility by saying hey I am voting for Mitchell. It is a total admitting of ones own ignorance and well for lack of a better word stupidity. Now for months I have watched more and more swing over to voting for Rivero and talked many into it with this very reasoning. But there are still some odd die hards out there who appear willing to destroy any semblance of credibility they have as a clear thinking intelligent person. I asked my self what could the reason be for this. Is it a lack of education or is it because they have some connection to Mitchell in contracts or no-bid connections that provides them with some of our significant tax-payer money? No other reasons can fit this level of ignorance and the persons desire if you will to hurt their own credibility. Imagine each time Mitchell is on the witness stand each time he is in court which is going to be a lot, he will be in San Francisco more then in Lake County, and each time you would be willing to say oh ya I voted for him. LOL sorry it is really laughable.

Wikileaks has reveled terrible and horrible acts committed by our government, perhaps you did not see the helicopter attack on innocent children by our gunships in downtown Iraq our government tried to cover up? You know the incident where when the marine walked up to the van that the helo gunship destroyed while the gunners and pilots congradulated each other for the fine shooting, and when he walked up to the window of the van it was children in it and he watched them die. It broke this Marine down to tears and he feel to his knees in disgust and anguish. War is sometimes necessary but it is to be conducted in a far more humane manner then the killing of innocent for the sake of target practice. Remember Gates said the original release of documents was going to cause death to the military and operatives in the war. Turned out nothing happened because names and other sensitive information was redacted. Let's also remember the the NY Times the Guardian and other papers are accepting these documents as their release point from Wikileaks. Wikileaks has cooperation across the world, and so they should. Hail Assange, and Hail Wikileaks for transparency and the exposure of these terrible crimes of war. I know this is not a forum for this discussion but we must not walk around with blinders Red C, don't let the government propaganda fool you, Julian Assange says he will continue to fight for the innocent killed by the act's of military powers in the world. In this latest release of 400,000 documents today which will begin distribution tomorrow, our government was aware of 100,000 civilian deaths 70% of those by torture from the Iraq Military under the watch of the US military.
