Mitchell only opened Pandoras box. We should thank him for showing what is going on in this local government. The board of supervisors are in that box along with all that took a oath and sided with those that lie and covered the lies up. I tell the truth. If you do not start fresh It only gets worse.This lying to me started ten years ago and you see what you have now the mess with Mitchell.The lying,cheating and covering the lies up just get worse. Those that are to see to justice look the other way.
 

Good Morning Lake County, what a day yesterday was, a great job of crime fighting by the citizens and the exposure of Mitchell's antics and his GOB supporters was amazing.

Burton: Why I support Don Anderson for district attorney

When it comes to deciding who to vote for, my wife and I believe everyone should vote based on the best information they have on the candidates. The candidates in our local elections do a good job of getting their information out to the voters with debates, Web sites, campaign signs and such. But for my part, knowing the true character of a person is equally, if not more, important because I want to know that the person I vote for will truly serve the people and seek justice.


Knowing the true nature of a person can be a challenge if you don’t know them personally. I think that’s where character references can be important. And that’s why I decided to share my reasons for supporting Don Anderson, candidate for Lake County district attorney.


Don Anderson is the kind of person who will always be true to his nature and his nature is compassionate and giving. Recently, he provided my family with some legal help at a time when we were grieving the loss of our son while at the same time needing to make arrangements for the proper care of his son. Don was there for us and he asked for nothing in return.


There are many ways to serve your community. Some people join clubs, sit on boards or volunteer to help organizations that exist to help the less fortunate. Don is known for helping youth as a mentor and coach. I found out he does so much more. Over the years, Don has quietly donated his legal services to countless people in need. I understand attorneys take on cases on a pro bono basis from time to time, but with Don, it’s a way of life and one way he’s chosen to give back to his community.


Don is one of the most standup people I know. He can be counted on to seek the justice we all expect from the District Attorney’s Office, to keep the public trust and to serve the people, 100 percent of the time.


The job of district attorney won’t be an easy one, that’s for sure. Our community has seen some of the toughest cases come through our court system and, sadly, there’s surely more to come and at a time when resources are getting more and more scarce. That’s where one’s true nature comes in. With a person like Don Anderson in charge, I know he will give it his all, each and every time.
 

Rivero's ad in the Bee was a great piece, talk about nailing Mitchell how could anyone vote for this guy with as much trouble he has coming his way and what he has on this plate now. Mitchell is done, and the Rivero Ad nailed him hard. The 10 civil suits plus Dinius and to read the details on how the Dinius trial is going to go, with Mitchell and his side kicks being nailed even harder the Hopkins is amazing. Through this whole incident Mitchell keeps trying to blame Hopkins and yet the lawsuit is nailing Mitchell is great.
 

ellent letter Mr. Burton and it sums up the real man, Don Anderson. I was trying to think of a word, which describes his and shows the difference between the two candidates. The thought that came to me was "humanity." Anderson shows his humanity and compassion. He's not a stuffed shirt or arrogant and he doesn't see himself and superior because he's a lawyer. He comes across just like the rest of us, no better or worse and with human flaws and frailties. He seems to care, which is why I too am voting for Don Anderson.
 

I viewed the KGO7 I-Team article and found it both disturbing and disappointing.

Sheriff Mitchell did a song and dance and when it was over I was left wondering. Where is the accountability we expect of our law enforcement officials? What kind of an organization is this?

The Sheriff ignores or refuses to respond to legitimate inquiries by the media. I thought the Sheriff worked for the community and is responsible for answering to that community. Why do citizens concerns or complaints go unanswered?

There is something radically wrong here and I see nothing being done to correct it.

I’ve had the privilege of meeting a number of Lake County Police Officers and Sheriff’s Deputies. I’ve found them to be reasonable, caring and professional. At the same time I can’t say that all the concerns expressed are not valid. A community with this much animosity for its public officials is something we need to be concerned with and wonder why that is and what’s being done to address the complaints real or perceived.

I’ve never been a proponent of civilian review boards which I feel are political or biased and generally not qualified to evaluate police work. If you have not done it how can you understand what the job entails?

Community policing came into being several years ago. Initially the rank and file resisted it as they often do change. Many police officials failed in their attempts to promote it because they could not or did not explain it properly to their staff, their officers or the community. As time went on officers determined that community policing was nothing more then most officers had been doing routinely for years. To protect and serve the community. To help make things easier for everyone. To solve the everyday problems faced by people who didn’t know who to ask for help or how to get things done. To direct people to those who could help solve things.

Where is community policing in Lake County?

There is more to police work then pinching dopers even though that too is part of the job. Who is to blame? Is it the officer or deputy on the street or the commander who has failed to properly train and supervise? Shouldn’t law enforcement’s senior command be responsible to dictating policy and seeing that policy is carried out while holding subordinates accountable?

At the same time the community has a right to hold their officials accountable for their actions or lack of action.

I'd like to say sorry, sorry for exposing you to pornography as children and for problems it caused afterwards. I'm sorry for the anger and abuse and drunkiness I showed you most of your young lives.
I'm also sorry for how I treated mom, she always took my crap but kept on loving me. I abused her even more once you were all out of the house and still she she took it in even bigger doses.
My addiction to porn, alcohol and abuse got worse and worse then, I was crazy. Mom took it until she couldn't any more. Then she fought back I got even worse. Then something happened, I had the accident with **** *****. I realized mom had been right for a long time about my drinking.
Mom saved my life. I finally realized what a drunk I was and started to get my head out if my ass, it only took 20 years.
For most of our married lives I've bullied, belittled, and betrayed mom. I've lied to her and everyone else including myself. If it takes the next 25 years I'll make it up to her and you.

Dear Alice

First of all, I am so sorry that you are going through all these problems with Micheal. He has just brought you to your knees. I feel so badly when you call and you are so upset.

But, I just can't understand why you can't let him go. You said the reason you are leaving him is because of the child pornography. What about the verbal, psychological and physical beatings that he has given you? And the womanizing.

Paul and I are not making up what we said about Mike and his movies. We have no reason to lie. If you remember, I told you that I was present the day that Mike brought the movies to our house on Morgan Valley Road back in the early 1980's. You need to go on with your life, and leave him in the dust. He has done everything to make your life miserable. That is not what love is all about. You have the right to be happy in your skin. He has definitely not made you happy through the years. He is a selfish liar and has only thought about his needs and his happiness. Paul was called in by a Chief Deputy at the Lower Lake Sub (by you we presume) to make a report about the pornography. Paul told him that he saw the child pornography that Mike brought to our house. Paul had to go down 2 hours before he went to work to do this. That is in writing and that's all you need. It sounds like you are finally putting out reports on Mike. We didn't appreciate it, but, guess you have to do what you have to do. Also, your attorney talked to Paul about this.

We are not making this up, and don't want to hear about it again.

What we have in lake County is those that believe that its their duty to protect the status quo. The others can be abused to serve at their pleasere. For you that thing not then what is the Dinius case about. Perdock is not the only one that they have saved. You have a whole board of supervisors and others that were Mendacious to protect other employees. The system is truly for them, then they think their not dishonest.
 

Yesterday at 4:30 sheriff's boat patrol was seen running a slow and deliberate line along the shoreline of Lakeshore Blvd. in Lakeport. If someone can identify the individual manning the boat please post here. Deputy was roughly 6 foot, gray hair, medium to large build, anyone knowing who was operating the boat yesterday please post it here. When Binoculars were brought out by several residents, the individual quickly jumped to the controls and sped off across the lake towards Nice at a high rate of speed. No one was on the lake, and appeared to be no reason this unit would be there. No known calls were called into the dispatch. I have lived in this location for many years and find this curious. Anyone with information please post so we can document.

I have seen much of Mia's documents. I only knew her for a short time, but I knew her long enough to know she spoke the truth. She was a little scattered, you would be too if you would have experienced what she went through. I saw the handwritten letter from her husband Paul (LCSO), apologizing for his alcohol abuse and the porn. She told me her husband started by driving to San Francisco to retrieve the child porn and distribute it to the other deputies involved. Did you ever wonder why Wiley only got home detention for the child porn on his thumbdrive? If any normal citizen would have been caught they would have been locked up in the slammer for years.
I had known about the "Gemini Club" for years, but it was Mia who told me the name. She told me who started it and who many of the members were. She told me about the founding Doctors house that was built by a CHP officer. The officer supervised the house building while on duty.
She told me about when they shot her up with drugs and dropped her off on Mt. St. Helena without any clothing. She told me about when the LCSO had her committed to a mental hospital for 15 days of observation. (a doctor finally released her when he realized what was up) She told me not to tell anyone what they did to her daughter.
With the help of her own lawyer, (a Gemini Club member) they took her dog. They took all her belongings. They took her money. They took her house.
I have some documents that I will pass on to Lovelace. If you have some please do the same. Use their G mail, it is secure.
Mia has passed, but her memory and her work will live on.
 

Mia's lawyer was Micheal Freilo, a member of the Gemini Club. When the county took away her dog Micheal ended up with the dog and then moved next door to Mia.

It is directly connected to Mitchell and his Human Resources department that has been asleep at the wheel for so many years. An individual who worked for the sheriffs department has been given the news that he is going to pass away, as is the case with many officers who have gone to Mitchell and the at least by name the sheriffs department human resources head who I believe is named Ferguson and been refused help over and over, this individual did the same and was offered no help and cast back on to the street, the individual that asked for assistance personally indicated to us that he needed and asked for assistance and it was refused we have documented this conversation. Again the Mitchell regime holds significant connection to what will be another lost individual in our county and this one is a former deputy Please even if you are guessing the name of this person do not post at this time. We will say that the requested assistance is directly related to what will be the cause of this person passing. We will post further when the situation allows, we are saddened and stunned by this news, and we pray with all our hearts for him, and for the end to this terrible regime called Mitchell. Please to all the citizens of our county, get the word out to all you can that they cannot cast a vote for Mitchell, that they must look to their hearts and see the reality of what this man has done to individuals and this county for so many years. I was a volunteer with the Marine Patrol for several years, and put a lot of time in on the water. Most of the time our days on the water was boring, but when a call for assistance did come in we responded as quickly as possible, and at a high rate of speed. Could that have been what occured with the Sheriff's patrol boat that you were observing??? Most of the calls that we responded to were of a minor nature, but we always traveled at a high rate of speed to get to where the call directed us to. Lets not create any more incidents than what we are already going through in Lakeport at this time. We all appreciate individuals being observant of their surroundings, but please do not make something out of nothing. AL B, Lakeport.
 

That is an awful long post Al B, if the reason for the inquiry leaves you, then I don't want to take the time to remind you what we are dealing with in the Mitchell regime, all bases must be covered, all situations assumed to be wrong doings of the Mitchell con game. You don't need to defend the boat patrol no one is beating them up, just making sure they know we are watching, there is nothing more then what should be made of it and that is just making sure all the bases are covered.
 

I have been able to see a copy of the original note that is being stated to have been authored by Janet Simpson. It has a hand written signature on it. I know Janet and Paul very well and that IS NOT Janet's signature on the note.

More information than I want to share. I'm sorry that Mia's children have to go through this, however as I said I was asked by Mia. It is not necessary for other children to go through this.
If you really are their good friend, if they really do think Alice was a beautiful and caring person, ask them to consider what Mia was trying to expose. Ask them for their help. Ask Paul, who did he make the report too? Ask him why nothing was done about it? Ask him to do something about it now.

The real travesty is that for the last 12 years the public is represented by a sheriff who is not fit for the job we elected him to do. I guess he feels the frustration created by him and is now trying the blaming game. He is totally burnt out. The blunders are finally catching up with his mismanagement. There is nobody else to blame for his money waste and racist hiring as seen the last 12 years under his regime. As you can see nothing is going to help or solve the problem as long as Rodney is running and ruining the Department. Rodney is a master of cover ups and back scratching. Don't forget this was written Oct. 25, 2006, stop the dictatorship, vote Frank Rivero!

You will be asked that on oral boards and it's also just good to have an answer for your own moral well being,

Also I used to ask candidates the following question;

"Are you familiar with the use of force ladder of escalation"? "Otherwise known as the use of force continuum?"

Candidates would or should answer yes.

Then I would hold a pen firmly in my hand. I would ask them "Get the pen from my hand".

Some would actually try to wrestle it out of my grip. Sometimes the pen would break. Once in a while someone would (in a conversational firm tone) simply ask me for it.

I would hand it to them and smile...

Watch out the Mitchell group doesn't like it when people talk another language different from the special police rap they seem to know and talk. you know like "specicfity" or " Jon Hopkins made the decision" or "Rivero is making it up" or Ive never been over budget" anyway you cut it Mitchell only likes the GOB'S way of being , no minorities except for Clint. He is in the true minority of super scumbag.Most of the deputies are well meaning ,however are being mislead by 16 years of lost leadership and no real training on differences that make up the melting pot that the U.S.A. is made from. please don't be mislead by the "stategic deception" that has and is being forced on us by the Republican Mitchell machine.
 

To Jim Burton, Anderson may be a nice guy but I don't want a "nice" guy in office as D.A. I want a competent guy who knows something about criminal law and fiscal responsibility. Every Deputy in the office right now knows 100x more about criminal law than he does and I don't think declaring bankruptcy to get out of paying a valid debt is responsible. Why does he inflate his record? He claims he has done over 1,500 trials when all but 50 of those are non-criminal, non- jury trials. Nothing more than brief court appearances in front of a judge. The county is in for a big shock and not for the good if Anderson is elected.

Did anyone see Dateline NBC last night. The title of this episode was " what are you thinking" In brief it was about how people make decisions when they are in a group vs individually. The show went back to some old studies and experiments that a person named Milgram did back in the 1950's in which he asked participants to shock someone at higher and higher voltage, but the truth being known no one was really being given a shock at all , the sreaming that was heard was done to see just how far they would go with the implimentation of the shock for the authority figure that would tell them that he and only he was responsible for the outcome and that they would be not liable for their own actions.The showed talked about why someone would do behaviour they wouldn't normally do because an authority figure they believe in wanted them to. First the person was held in high esteem then was manipulated at a later time in order to have the authority have that person do their bidding. Just look at Mitchell and what his hinchmen do for him--- the show went on to point out there our some people that do have the ability to with-stand the pressure to follow a bad leader like Frank Rivero and Jim Beland but then the authority goes out of their way to "destroy them" does any of this sound familiar. Mitchell is the bad authority and the person's involved in breaking into Tom;s wifes business are the mis-guided followers of a bad leader.-- think about it.

I posted a link earlier that probably went into spam. I didn't have time to as a comment, but it was about the Feds still coming down on pot, even though it would be legal in ca with the passage of prop 19. My question would be, what then? To be honest there are pros and cons to that issue. I don't use mj myself, but understand that medically it produces good results. What do we do in this situation? Is the passage of prop 19 a moot point? I would think from an le standpoint, they probably will leave it alone, and not enforce the fed issues, but I wonder what the Feds will do... I would love to read some feedback on this.

Hey Xar, everyone should also remember that the passage of 19 would require all state agencies to cease and desist in any cooperative effort with the DEA/Federal enforcement agencies. This is one of the reasons the DEA does not want this to pass, as they get manpower and investigative assistance from local authorities. This is very big for Lake County as Rodney Mitchell is in collusion with the DEA to attack citizens of this county and he use's are taxpayer monies to do his bidding with them. Everyone know's the Feds are not for the passage of Prop 19, that of course is not news. As was posted earlier the reason we cannot get the feds away from private 215 legal grows and into the forest is there is not ability to grab assets if they are just killing a couple of illegals and cutting down plants, the money is in Mexico and they want the money and the cars and the houses etc. Also Prop 19 is just one of the many steps that will slowly take place as full legalization happens. This is not the final step, just the beginning. The passage of 19 sends a message to the DEA that we want you to cooperate on the bigger issues. The DEA does not like that idea, the same way the Feds did not like the idea of legalizing drinking back in the day. It is all about the money no matter how you spin it. Remember our own Federal Government has taken out the patents for THC, oil, bud production and processing, you can find this on the patent office web page, literally behind the scenes the federal government has taken out these patents. They too are interested in the money.

I don't know anything about Deputies interrogating anyone. I was commenting on the body language I observed. The Sheriff did not appear to have any enthusiasm for campaigning. His attitude reminded me of the twelve year old newspaper delivery boy, who can't wait to get rid of his last paper so he can do something else. The Sheriff and none of the deputies know me from Adam, since I have never encountered any of them before;therefore, I would presume that I would be viewed as a possible vote for him and at least be asked to consider supporting him. The fact that he made no attempt to get my vote and the fact that he looked like he'd rather be doing anything else, makes me think that he has give up.

I know some local people who don't have cell phones, barely read the local paper and work all the time fixing up houses to rent or re-sale. They work hard and so does the rest of their family members. They don't know Rivero but are voting for him and their reasoning has to do with the "Dinius issue". Simple. I believe that there are many people that feel the whole "Dinius issue" is huge and was a slap in the face to the citizens of Lake County. The jury in that case fortold both Hopkin's and Mitchell's chances of being re-elected as zero.

Great testimony 521 I have found the same thing to be the case, most of the people who may not be able or choose not to read the paper or listen to the news are now Rivero supporters as to the negative effect of the Murder of Lynn Thorton, and the actions of Mitchell in the cover-up.
 

let it by known a victory by Mitchell would prove to the rest of the state and country that ignorant rednecks continue to rule this county. It would mean the continued downfall of our county and essentially the end to any chance of the counties recovery. Vote Rivero for change, transparency, and the chance to save our county. Santa Rosa JC has a great Admin of Justice program. That's where I graduated from and went to the academy. I had instructors like Deputy Ed Fischer, Dr. Ed Peoples, Chief Terry Stewart and lets not forget the legendary Professor Raymond Hill for search and seizure, evidence and constitutional law. Some of them may have retired, but I think Hill still lectures. Hill is pretty demanding but well worth it.

I have been reading this blog for months now, and have made only very occasional comments. I do not know either candidate personally and have never dealt with any Lake Co LE, in fact my only encounters with LE in my lifetime have had to do with driving a little too fast and I don't even do that anymore. One of my comments had to do with why LCSO did not respond to an accident that occurred on a very busy dangerous road on a holiday week-end. I got a very snarky reply that was essentially, that's not our job with no apparent concern for public safety. I noticed a similar response, when someone questioned the wheelchair guy getting run over. I had come to the conclusion that LCSO does not work cooperatively with CHP, yet this morning I read the ad from the CHP officers supporting Mitchell. What's up with that, do they work together for the public good or do they just play cover each other's A**?
I then read the two Mitchell ads, and have to ask that if the only reason you can come up with for voting for Mitchell is the allegations of arrests thirty years ago, did you also vote for GW Bush despite allegations of an arrest for cocaine possession and draft dodging thirty years before. Did you vote for the governator despite his admission of pot smoking. If you voted for either of them, yet criticize Mr Rivero for something alleged to have happened thirty years ago, you are a hypocrite.
I remain much more concerned with recent history, especially the obvious evidence of favoritism in the criminal justice system in Lake Co. and unless Mr Rivero commits some heinous offense before I complete my ballot and get to the mailbox, I will be voting on that basis.

Looks like the we are reaching critical mass, if we all get out and vote, and work the streets the way we have been, I cannot see Mitchell pulling much more then 40% of the vote max. The numbers, if we do our job work hard and hit it out of the park this last couple of weeks and I mean knock on doors talk to everyone you can, no matter what Mitchell pulls or his 2 newspaper campaign team members RB and LCN, they cannot change what is coming. I call it(with hard work the last two weeks) Mitchell 39.5% Rivero 60.5%, With a 4.5% margin of error. that does not mean we stop all the hard work, we really have to do our job, this number is based on the Baxter factor and the fact that Mitchell cannot gain a great enough percentage of votes in regards to the primary results, there is just not that many fence sitters, from the primary and Mitchel cannot move enough votes with his terrible record and the bad name he has in the county. Let's work hard and rock and roll.

In response to Endorsements assist voters'

I agree with the first paragraph of Bill Brunetti's letter to the editor that candidates need endorsements but that is where it stops.

We all need to really look at why would they endorse a particular candidate.

Could it be that behind closed doors the current sheriff has given them reason to back him?

The endorsement by the Deputy Sheriff's Association is likely more of an endorsement to the candidate that will then back the public safety salaries/pensions/retirements as the good ol boys society has since forever.

In the third paragraph he states that "They also have nothing to gain by the endorsement and in fact have a lot to lose should the other guy win."

Now, what are they going to lose? Think about it. Think about the federal lawsuit filed against Mitchell and more than 25 other Lake County officials.

The lawsuit reportedly says "the action arises principally from the unconstitutional, corrupt efforts" of county elected and law enforcement officials to prosecute Dinius for a homicide he did not commit.

Lake County needs a fresh start and for my house, Rivero, will get our votes and we hope that Baxter will take the opportunity to join our fresh start.

What the DSA and its members will gain when Rivero is elected sheriff is someone who understands the process and will follow the rule of law. This is someone who will obide by the Peace Officers Bill of Rights and make sure both the officers and the community receive equal and fair treatment. They will gain a sheriff willing to establish a disciplinary review board where each level of the chain of command must answer and accept responsibility of the accused has not been properly traiined. They will gain a fair and resonable process for investinating internal complaints which gives both the officer and their supervisor an opportunity to show their good work as well as the bad so they will not just wash someone out based on a single complaint. They will received progressive discipline not just you are out.

What the DSA members will lose is Rod Mitchell's micro management and vindictiveness making them always have to look over their shoulders in fear of second guessing and micro managing by people who where not there. They will lose the current process in which some people receive while others do not depending on who they are and if the boss likes them. They will lose the cliques and special interests which currently run the department into the ground.

Rivero has personally experienced the witch hunt mentality of Rod Mitchell and this is somethng he has guaranteed to eliminate. He has pledged himself to fairness and equality.
 

The DSA will gain a voice in the organization and will be encouraged to represent and protect their members and to work toward their interests not just the interests of a few who are afraid to stand up for what's right.
 

Time is running out and although many of us feel confident that Frank Rivero is going to be victorias we must not stop and become complacent. Remember every vote counts and we have an opportunity to send a strong message to our elected officials. People throughout the country are questioning politicians and there is a definate move to oust incumbents and career politicians like Rod Mitchell.

Reach out to your family, neighbors, friends, co-workers and people you meet on the street. If they are not informed then educate them with the truth not just Mitchell's version of his truth.

Encourage people to vote. If they are not registered tell them how to do so or help them so they too can exercise their right as Americans. Encourage everyone to vote preferable for our candidate Rivero. Now its up to all of us to spread the truth through word of mouth so people will hear both sides and not rely on the biased local media publishing Mitchell's sping, lies and distortions. If needed I encourage you to drive people to the polls if they have no transportation. This is especially critical for our seniors and handicapped citizens who have as much to lose if Mitchill is re-elected as we do.

We must work together to end Rod Mitchell's 16 year rein of incompetance, special treatment for some and terror for others who do not agree with him. The sheriff is supposed to protect us not persecute us. He must be voted out to send the right message to all career politicians. Please do your part.
 

We have all seen the outrageous things Rod Mitchell and his gang have done durng this campaign process. He has been caught in one lie after another. They have published paid political camapign ads smearing his oponent with lies, distortion of facts and innuendo. He has encouraged people to file IA compaints against Rivero for things he knew was not true. His group has gone door to door spreading lies about Rivero and his past while intimidating voters to do to Mitchell. These strong arm tacts are wrong and have no place in todays world.

Some believe Mitchell has actually committed crimes and malfesence in office for whch he has never been held accountable. Others are disturbed by his negative camapaign attacks on Rivero and anyone else who supp[orts him. Many people have seen and experienced this good ole boy mentality whichere special interests and people are given special treatment while others are harassed and intimidated.

People from all over have reported serious wrong doing by the LCSO which go unresolved. Mitchell is never held accountable by the other politicians so its out duty as citizens to do so by our vote. Where there is smoke there is fire and the serious accusations against this department must be seriously investigated and appropriately addressed. The public has a right to know and only Rivero will see that this is done and proper action is taken if these accusations are determined to be true.

We deserve a sherif's department that we can trust and have confidence in. One we can feel comfortable knowing they will be here for us to protect and solve the many problems within our community fairly. We do not have this now and its long past time for a change. This is our chance to make our voices heard loud and clear. Vote for Rivero and send the message to all our politicians and public officials that we are not willing to put up with corruption from our sheriff and we demand change now.

You make it sound like a big deal, but I doubt that your total group amounts to anything. You write it as though it is a big announcement. Nice try, but no cigar.
 

I question the validity of this endorsement letter posted by Mitchell allegedly from the CAHP (CHP association). The letter indicates it was sent to Mitchell and posted by himself or one of his henchmen. The CAHP does not endorse political candidates so it would appear a few local CHP officers have taken it upon themselves to represent themselves as speaking for the entire organization. The letter is suspicious to say the least and is similar to Mitchell's claim that he is endorsed by PORAC which was shown to be false. They refused to endorse Mitchell since he was not endorsed by all the LE agencies in this county.

Again it appears Rod Mitchell and his minions have bent the truth to make him appear to be something he is not.

If the letter is valid and the majority of the local CHP officers support him that's fine too. This is a small group of peace officers who do not have to work for Mitchell and are not is a position to be screwed over by him. If true it shows the opinion of one small group of people and certainly does nbot represent the majority of Lake County residents. Don't be fooled by the Mitchell spin and look closely at everything he and his gang do and say. More often then not you'll find things are not as they appear or as they would have us believe. This is the history of Rod Mitchell. Corruption in office is his legacy.

Was't it a local CHP officer who was accused of being one of the founders of Mitchell's little wife swaping and child pron club? We've heard that he was building houses and operating his own contractors business while on duty being paid by the CHP. I wonder if the CHP has even done anything about this. They do have a reputation of seriously responding to and addressing complaints. If true this makes me question the motives of this entire local group who states they support Mitchell. Could this be Mitchell calling in markers to keep quiet about what he may have on people. We've seen he's done this many times most recently with Markam and Ringen.
 

I wonder if the CAHP is aware that their local members are endorsing a politician in their name? I'm sure they would be interested especially considering they have repeatedly stated they do not endorse anyone.

This is breaking news; We will post it here first, and get it on the Manifest as well. This is another blow to Mitchell and his credibility. This is a different subject then what we are currently discussing on the phony CHP endorsement by the Record Bee and LCN, but is stunning and needs to immediately get out to the public.

Mitchell is breaking state law on SCARS reports
We have just finished an investigation and found out some very disturbing information concerning Mitchell and not following in anyway state law in regards to handling SCARS reports. SCARS is a form that a "mandated reporter" (doctors, nurses, teachers, mental health and law enforcement) must fill out when they believe children are suspected of being a victim of sexual crimes, child abuse or neglect. That form is sent to Sacramento where the Dept. of Justice opens a file on the accused. It stays open until law enforcement files a follow up, closing, or takes action against the accused. Even law enforcement must file a SCARS report and not just do a criminal report. Here is what happens:

Little Billy comes to school with a bruise on his cheek. Billy tells the teacher his father slapped him in the face. The teacher is "mandated" to file a SCARS report. One copy goes to law enforcement and the other to DOJ. When law enforcement gets their copy, they investigate it. No matter the outcome, police must fill out a SCARS follow up and send it to DOJ! The form and not a report must go to DOJ!!

Most SCARS reports are unfounded. So that means hundreds of cases sit at DOJ with parents as named suspects because LCSO refuses to follow state law and does not file the follow-up form! This has been reported to Mitchell and Brown by at least 2 current deputies that they were not following state regulations, but they have been ignored. To this date, we can assume that hundreds of cases are just sitting at DOJ open when the should not be! Only Mike Curran knows how this regulation works. Two Field Training Officers at LCSO who will not be named have indicated that SCARS reports, are still not being written and correctly followed up on illegally undermining state requirements!

This should be immediately reported to the DOJ and this is another instant of Mitchell thinking he and his department are above the law, and that it is not necessary to follow state law, and protect the rights of the citizens.
 

Once again Rodney and his lying thugs strike and get caught trying to snow the people. This is not an honist mistake. This is an intentional attempt to deceive the people and as usual the LCN and the Record-Bee suck right up and buy it.

Unfortunately we must rely on these two groups for some of the news in our county even knowing that accuracy and truth are not their thing. When this election is over we need to send them a message two by boycotting both. I do not read the LCN because I don't want it showing a hit on their web site. I will cancel my subscription to the Record-Bee when this is over and do my part. If someday they should come around and practice un biased responsible and accurate journalism I may come back.

The Mitchell ad in today's record-bee again makes insinuations out of a 30 year old "arrest" in Florida. One would think that he is suggesting that anytime someone is arrested by any cop, that they are automatically guilty(forget that old constitutional right to a trial before one's peers prior to declaring guilt). If we agree with the sheriff that an arrest means guilty, are we to assume that the arrest of Dinius was in fact a mistake on his part, since the jury decided he was innocent. If despite the Dinius case, you believe that police never make mistakes and arrest or detain the wrong person, I suggest you google Bull Connor. He was a cop in the deep south, where Rivero claims his discrimination occurred. I realize that people privileged enough to live in California their entire lives may not be familiar with racial discrimination, but it does and did thrive in the south for many years and I have no doubt that nearly every non-white young man got stopped more than once.
 

BTW before you decide that I am black or latino, because I am aware of racial discrimination, let me reassure you that I am as anglo-saxon as anyone can be, I am just not blind.

This is information regarding the recent headline in the Record Bee and Lake County News showing an endorsement from the “CHP”. As was anticipated this is a bogus headline, and is a demonstration of the campaigning and collusion between sheriff Mitchell, Lake County News and Gary at the Record Bee. Contact has been made with the CHP and we have contacted several associated agencies. First each of these CHP outlets, which includes the Northern Division of the CHP, and the media officer of the Redding division Officer Hutsell who said this “ I suspect this is just associated with the local Clearlake division of the officers union and is only those officers at that office”. The CAHP has confirmed this is not an endorsement of the CHP's but only the local union president of the Clearlake office. This is not an endorsement of the CAHP union for the state of California, but only the local officers at Clearlake. Officer Hutsell indicated he made contact with the commissioners office and is passing on the information to them for their disposition. Officer Kelly at the Sacramento division echoed the comments of Officer Hutsell that the CHP never endorses any political individual in any race for any office. We contacted officer Tanquay of the local CHP who is the media contact but he would not comment on it, and said this was a letter from the local union in Clearlake. When asked if he thought the headline was misleading he would not comment. We will update you with further information should the commissioner give us additional information as to the action they will take regarding this obviously misleading headline. This is a sad day for our two local papers who are showing a total lack of journalistic integrity in their outward support of Rodney Mitchell.

The candidate you are endorsing has been serving as Sheriff for 16years. Name one politician, one elected official who has served for this long or longer, other than Ferdinand Marcos??

Today in the record Bee I couldn't help but notice Sheriff Mitchell's campaign add "Voters have rights". Half a page long! Basically Mitchell is challenging Frank to open his personnel file. His LCSO personnel file.

Why?

Rod, didn't you hire Francisco? Do a background? So if anything is in his file, the LCSO knew about it! He also passed an SFPD background.

Francisco disclosed these incidents openly on his website.

A big long ad that says nothing. Your own departmnt. Your own actions have endorsed Francisco. No you are backpedaling and spending a ton of cash doing it.

Was this endorsement opened up to a vote of the members or just made up by a few writing in their name. We saw how Mitchell's gang stood over the DSA to influence the phoney vote of support by them so who is to say a few CHP officers didn't do the same thing.

The Correct vote on Prop 22 is YES.........not No as the Demo Party recommendation must be a printing error???? Last year the state took 120,000.
from your local fire district....with notification that the district would be paid back within 3 years with interest. Some districts couldn't balance their budgets because of this "mandatory loan" to balance state budget!
Voting YES would restrict the state from being able to take money from the Emergency services, roads, seniors, etc.

When you get stopped for a license plate light out. They ask you for your license. They take it back to their patrol car and run a local warrants check and to see if you have had any "contacts" with them.If you have never had "contact" with them before, You have now. If they aren't satisfied with that then they run a NCIC check on you. So far all you have is a license plate light out.Even If you come back clean if they feel like it they can ask to search your car, After all "If you have nothing to hide" there shouldn't be a problem Right? Remember all you have done is drive with a license plate light out. BUT!!, if you question them or their behavior or catch them with their pant's down then they cry like a little girl. All of a sudden, "If you have nothing to hide there shouldn't be a problem" doesn't apply? If we had the same resources to do background checks I hesitate to guess what might be found.

Sorry but the Democratic party plays the same game. Democrats invented insulting the adversary while not talking about what they offer. Jerry Brown is a piece of crap, he drove Oakland into the ground. Lived as a lavish czar as governor before Davis, what a joke! I never vote for a candidate just because they are of a given party.

Let's leave partisanship out of this Sheriff election. Democrats can't take credit and please don't speak for me, you haven't the right!!! I am supporting change. I am supporting Francisco and I am not a member of the democratic party.

Meg however is also a piece of work, so I truly fear California's future. She had all her top execs from ebay living in China during the summer of 2005. Common Meg, stay with ebay and over hall the outdated web layout. Your work is far from done there. I guess as governor special interest kick backs would be more lucrative, why else would she spend 140million dollars to get elected??.

Mike Thompson also needs to go. I am voting yes on prop 23. It will not harm the environment one iota. We need these jobs back and I am not paying up to 60% higher on my utility bill. Mike sure has the green movement sucked up tight. Stop spreading environmental panic, AB32 needs to be kept in check. Calling it the dirty energy bill is inaccurate. More green lobby fear mongering.

So let's just stick to the Sheriff election. Educate yourself, or just stay home and don't vote!

Rod Mitchell hired Francisco Rivero. He did a background. Now he wants Francisco to open his LCSO personnel file, setting a negative precedence to all peace officers. Just for political gain. That's short sited and, well I'm sorry; it's selfish.

Rivero disclosed these incidents openly on his website. Move on! Your just making the department look bad!!

Breaking news: Appox. 21/2 hours ago a member of our group received a call from the CHP commissioners office, the office indicated the CHP does not support or endorse sheriff Mitchell, they indicated that the executive director of the statewide union called CHAP whose has not authorized any endorsement of sheriff Mitchell, the executive director has provided contact information through the commissioner for contact with the CHAP. CHAP has not authorized nor approved any endorsement of sheriff Mitchell. They indicated this is a random act by local Clearlake CHAP president and apparent Mitchell GOB Erick Paarsch. Contact will be made with the executive director in the morning. The commissioner is Joe Farrow and his offices have provided this contact information, we will post a follow up tomorrow upon our further contact. It appears Mr. Paarsch has gone off on a random act and the posting by LCN and RB has further the concern at the commissioners level and at the executive directors level. Bad bad move by RB, LCN and a not to sharp Paarsch.

703. If there is no cause shown by the officer, there is no reason to feel like a person has to give up there rights. Give up your rights, and it won't stop there. The police should only be looking for an infringement of law. If one is not shown, then the driver should not be asked to have his car searched. You make it sound as if the driver must be hiding something if he does not agree to a search when nothing illegal is showing. I would get the name and number of an officer that would coerce me into obeying what is an illegal search, and report his action. Of course if he is a Mitchell gob, they will cover it up. Thanks to Rivero, we'll have a new Sheriff in November.

I have already cast my vote. Rivero. A few days ago someone said that if they don't like him in 4 years they'll vote him out. I agree.
