7:44 You are quite right. Mitchell is hiding out and he refuses to appear in public to debate Rivero. He doesn't want to be anywhere that people can ask questions and make him answer. He got burned on the hot seat over and over before the rimary so he figures he'll let his thugs do his talking and stand on his record which is good for us since we all know his record which is why he is not running unopposed.

In Mitchell's prior runs for re-election he ran unopposed so it was a slam dunk. Whenever he heard rumors that someone was thinking of running he would do everything he could to intimidate them. He spread false rumors and made threats often through his intermediaries and they backed out. He threatened to reveal anything he had that might embarass them. At one time Ringen had said he was thinking of running and Mitchell arranged to meet him at Perko's then told him, "if you run against me I will destroy you." Being in the middle of his career he wisely backed out so he wouldn't lose his retirement. Unfortunately Mitchell did him anyway.

It wasn't until this time that we had two men who were not afraid of him come forward to run for office. These men would not be intimidated by the Mitchell gang and they tried and are still trying. At considerable personal expense they pickup the gauntlet and here we are today. Thannks to people like Rivero and Baxter who refused to be intimidated we will have a change in Lake County and Mitchell will go down in flames in November.

I watched all the debates and listened to the candidates. Mitchell throws around his phoney manipulated stistics while waiving a stack of papers as if that were some kinf of proof. He goes on to sing about how he loves Lake County, the birds and the beas, the trees and especially the fine deputies under his command. Gag. This guy is a phony as a three dollar bill and it shows every time he opens his mouth.

I think we are going to see Lake County rise up against Mitchell and his regime and out he'll go. They send a clear message in the primary that change is in the wind but Rod refused to see or hear us.

Rivero will have his hands full trying to rein in the GOB's and reorganize a department that has run amok for so long. He can do it with our help, first by voting Rivero in and Mitchell out. Send a clear message to all politicians that we are sick and tired of their turning a blind eye to the abuses by Rodney Mitchell. Then come forward and volunteer to do more. Rivero has committed himself to an open department and civizen cooperation and input. He wants to develop an active Sheriff's Reserve force and planned how they can be trained to qualift then be used to assist the deputies in a number of positions. We must do our part and vote for Frank Rivero.

8:10 as a physician I can tell you the purpose of anti depresent medication is to help a patient function normally. It should have no affect on his ability to do his job as a law enforcement officer. Clinical depression is very common today and we know recognize what it is and try to address it. It is a very serious condition which can dibilitate a person if not treated. It's good if he is taken these medications but it is also a clear indication of deep seated problems that he is experiencing.

I wonder if there is not much more going on here then depression and I question if he is fit for duty. I know that many police agencies send their employees for fitness for duty psychiatric evaluations but who sends the boss?

Mitchell has been showing up at events unannounced and often uninvited so he won't risk getting sand bagged by someone wanting to ask him questions. He goes around shaking hands and passing out baloons like a clown but makes sure he is never in a position to have to show and tell. His appearances have been to groups that he knows are behind him like the GOB's at the Middletown Business group who are mostly Mitchell supporters and special interest people.

James makes a good point but personnel confidentiality only goes to oening a peace officerspersonnel file to the public. Personnel file includes his IA file. I'm not sure about his training file which is supposed to list all the classes and extra training received. In order to open these files an attorney must make a "Pitchiss" motion to the court stating they are looking for a particular pattern of bad behavior and nagative discipline, ex. excessive force. The Judge can then check the file and allow the point if it should exist to be revealed in court. Not the entire file.

The names of officers is no confidential. Posting the names of juveniles or sexual assault victims is against the law. Mitchell uses personnel matters and confidentiality to cover everything particularly the things he doesn't want known.
 

Rember Rivero posted his debate challenge to Mitchell in the news not just here and Mitchell has ignored it. Who called who out first and Mitchell continues to hide out or hang out with people who won't ask him questions.

An interesting article covering the bottom half of page one titled "New communications service available for Lake County residents. It starts off with "The Lake County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) will"..... so we know its another Mitchell fluff piece where he's again taking credit for someone elses idea and good work much like his promises kept. Actually it is an excellent program available to all of us but it's nothing that Mitchell and his staff have come up with. Progressive departments have been using these programs for years. It will give Mitchell another way of promoting himself and his campaign much like when he used the counties emergency reverse 911 system and have Bryan Martin send out a recorded message asking everyone to support Mitchell for re-election. Questionasble tactic? No unethical and unlawful tactic which is his style.

I'm not saying that copying programs developed by others isn't a good idea but I would like to see Mitchell come up with an idea of his own for once. Again too little too late for Mitchell.

Before the primary Rod's LCN wanted the candidatres to open and release their own personnell file for their review. Why, because the Sacramento Bee came up with the idea first to look at their own sheriff. Rod was all for it because he controls both his own and Rivero's file so he can add or take away anything he wants. Besides who is there to put anything into the boss' own file.

Baxter went to the San Jose POA for a legal decision and was told his file did not exist since he is retired. They said they as a labor organization would be obliged to resist such an action without a court order since it sets a legal presidence which would affect working officers.

Mitchell made a big deal of this as usual.



When Baxter ran he was accused by Mitchell about being to old for the job. Here we go again seniors. Again this guy was way ahead of them and had gone for a complete physical prior to filing. He was prounced in excellent condition with no medical issues and he announced this openly.

When Joe Totorico ran against Mitrchell he too was the victim of Rod's underhanded politics when Mitchell spread the rumor he had a heart condition and jsut wanted the job to retire on medical disability. Wrong again.

How about both candidates open their medical history and let the public see your file. Lets see what they have to say about your addiction to fat pills which are not working or your taking anti depressants and who knows what else. Maybe Rod has heard trouble especially behind the stress of coming under public scrutany. Open it up fatr boy and lets see what's there. What happened to the Captain who took pictures of the deputies kids taking free helicopter rides in a county leases aircraft flowing by an unlicensed student pilot in training. I guess he saw nothing wrong with that and no civil liability.

I hope Garzoli does get mad at Mitchell for destroyiong his career and he gets smart and comes clean with all the dirt he has on Mitchell and his gang. Do it before the election, the people deserve the truth. He's already shafted you so what more can he do before he's voted out of office? Stand up and pay this crook back. Also the citizens should know that Mitchell by law was obligated to tell Ringen point blank at the exact moment the collusion was suggested no. The fact that this was not done, means that Mitchell and Brown were considering the idea. We will report on this as well as we receive more information, we have been asked not to revel the majority of the investigation and it's process and who is conducting what aspect of it, for the sake of ensuring a full investigation takes place we are honoring that request by the commission.

About the Rivero event: KKKlint was asked to leave to protect the public and business owners who wouldn't have wanted to be filmed and then made part of his racist videos. If he hadn't walked in with the video camera in hand, there wouldn't have been an issue. It was evident KKKlint was there to start trouble, he had been drinking, his eyes were red, speech was slurred and you could smell alcohol on him.

If someone had pulled this stunt on Mitchell, they would have been arrested for drunk in public or worse. Rivero quickly sized up the situation and then defused it by seeing to it that KKKlint left the event. Rivero's response was so calm and collected that many people in the room didn't even know that anything took place.

I send my thanks to Mr. Rivero for protecting me and my friends that were in attendance that night from this obviously drunken and disturbed person.

10:47 - An interesting post by Mrs. Mitchell last night refering to the racist who was asked to leave Rivero's campaing kick off last Saturday.

I was there and I too say this man sitting there trying to video tape the event. I knew who he was after seeing him hanging around at previous events. His reputation and a venomous racist are well known and many in our community question his mental state. Several people expressed concern about the man's potential for violence since he has been so out front anti-Rivero and constantly posting racust attacks on the candidate. One older lady asked if he was the kind that could go postal and she was genuinly worried about him. This may sound funny but not when we look at the things that have gone on in our country today.

I for one thought he should be left alone to do his thiing since I've always seen him as a harmless weirdo with nothing else to do. Others were not so sure and the concern for the safety of the group overruled one man seeing him as a weirdo. Granted he does have the right to attend a public function which was advertised as being open to the public. At the same time the safetyand peace of mind of those attending should and must be considered. This man was asked to leave, not kicked out but asked. When he voiced an objection he was told this was not the place for open racism which he had demonstrated many times everywhere he went. He left without further incident and that was it.

I question the fact that of all people the Mitchell machine embraces such a man and sees him as a champion of their cause. All of a sudden they are outraged that a citizen may have had his rights violated when they do it all the time. This local racist nut case is an example of the Mitchell attitude toward our community. Don't feel sorry for kkklint, feel sorry for people who are forced to listen to his racist views and those who rist the treatment people like him have given others in this country.
 

Mitchell planned this whole KKKlint episode and now it will backfire like all the rest idiotic feats. Mitchell really should have surrounded himself with non idiots. Ass suckers are not cutting it.
 

The same article calling for sympthy over kkklint also talked about the DSA vote to endorse Mitchell. That's a tired argument true or not. It means little since the majority of the community have no trust or faithe in Mitchell or the DSA. They have shown that anything was possible so when people say the vote may have been rigged people see the logic in that.

The support of the DSA means very little since it seems to be common knowledge they are a very weak special interest intimidated by Mitchell and made up of his boys. Their support means very little since they are but a very small minority of Lake Counties voters.

No one believes for a minute that Mitchell has not been dodging open public debates. He's very uncomfortable in this venue and has done poorly each time he's had one. Mitchell spouts his tired old line patting himself on the back and trying to convince the public what a great guy he is and what a fine job he's done. He asks us to jusde him on his record of the past 16 years. That's just what we are doing and the record is one of inefficiency, mismanagement and lies whch he can't hide.

The post in question is filled with attacks, lies and distortions which is the halmark of Mitchell's campaign.
