Hey post 348, I forgot that Mitchell helped Cecil Brown Sr. that year. I do remember all the B.S. between Farrington and Brown sr. and some real negative comments from Sheriff Rodney Mitchell about Farrington. Is this how Cecil Brown Jr. became Captain in the LCSO?

Citizens of Lake County, we have just received information from a source within the SO that Frank Rivero has been cleared of all charges and claims against him in the Rully IA.

All interviews have been completed, including John Rully and Deputy Bill Djernes as well any and all others associated with this fabricated trumped up attempt by Mitchell. Again the IA is closed Rivero is officially cleared of all charges and claims in the Rully IA.

All citizens call sheriff Mitchell at this number; 262-4200 and ask him directly. Mitchell is attempting to hold this information until the election is over with.

Message to the LCN and the Record Bee you need to report on this asap, you have access to the confirmed information we would expect to see articles in your papers ASAP. This is rock solid and their is no question about it.

To the citizens of Lake County it is now time for you to stand up and demand accountability, make those phone calls, and send e-mails to the Record Bee and The LCN. If the response is they don't know that this is true, tell them the answer is only a phone call away. This IA was reported on in full disclosure in their papers when the claim was made, and now it is time to report on it in full disclosure that it is closed and Frank Rivero has been cleared in total.

Now the big question how could the local papers not post this information. If they do not we have a direct connection between the LCN, the Record Bee and Mitchell. This is very interesting, it has been a wild few days of posting, and this last one tops it. When will these corruption supporters see that this is not going away. Now we have a 120 some IA that once the people catch wind of it and start to push, it gets cleared, well Rodney did not have a choice, but now he has to come out and say it. Or he has to report it or confirm it to the local media, I would think Record Bee would have it on Tuesday and no reason why LCN should not be on it tomorrow latest Tuesday. Great Job, now let's move on to the next scam huh!
 

I hope this is true. It goes to show you that if this IA had been investigated back in January, it would have never had been an election issue.

Here is my problem with this. As I see it, if I have information that a deputy has committed a violent felony while on duty, my citizen's complaint may not be investigated immediately. That means the deputy is free to commit more of the same or more serous crimes. IA's are supposed to protect the people and the deputy. This is very sad and needs some serous management changes.

Nope that is not all that I got, I got even more than this:

1. Mitchell interfered in the Dinius investigation. Hugged and consulted Perdock even before he was officially interviewed.

2. Mitchell caught Perdock accessing RIMS after being told not to do so.

3. Mitchell finds out Perdock called investigators liars and that Perdock lied to them.

4. Mitchell fires Bealnd for testifying to the truth.

5. Mitchell does nothing when he learns Morshed lied on the stand.

6. Mitchell finally puts Perdock on "approved" leave or is it sick or admin?

7. Mitchell is informed of Garzoli's posting of his wife on the wall.

8. Mitchell's staff is told that Garzoli made a sexist comment to an employee and did nothing.

9. Mitchell fails to review the DEA grant before signing it.

10. Garzoli is seen going into Mitchell's staff meetings wearing a flight suit with "PILOT" on it.

11. Garzoli is involved in the helicopter crash.

12. Mitchell tells BOS he knew nothing about Garzoligate. Late when the BOS asks Mitchell again, Mitchell said, "not to that extent."

13. Mitchell finds out about Garzoli's radio statements.

14. Instead of terminating Garzoli, Mitchell allowed Garzoli to self demote and keep all of his seniority.

15. Then we have Morshed's stuff. No evidence ever found that linked him to the crime.

16. Mitchell received a complaint against Rivero based on an arrest 1 1/2 years ago accusing him of a felony while on duty. Instead of acting on it, Mitchell and his GOB's sit on it for 4 months.

17. It is now 129 days and still no charges against Rivero.

18. After 45 days of sick leave and 10 months of Admin Leave, Mitchell finally fired Perdock. Oh and it is just a few weeks before the election.

Mitchell better have more proof than he did against Dinius . Contrary to what Mitchell says The Dinius investigation stinks to high heaven and the lawsuit will prove everything .

Asking a question, if an organization media or otherwise, use's a source, and the use of that source is documented by the source, would the organization be willing to attack that very source they utilized significantly, or discredit that source. Would that organization be willing to throw punches back and forth? doing it at the risk of looking bias in an election situation,and effecting their very credibility through the information that is reveled? Many times in elections this has happened, the necessity for total transparency in the type of situation we have in this county is huge.
 

Nothing is going to crash until every single possible vote is gathered. Everyone out there this cannot be a situation where people sit on their hands, you must vote and you must make sure everyone of you get's as many as you can, I got 4 more votes today for Rivero in a single conversation with a family. Every chance you get you must do it. Make a goal of 5 new votes a day. I swear it is that easy, in fact you will find you get even more then that. You must do it. This is the critical part of the mission, the last few weeks. Do your part!!

After over four years Mitchell claims the investigation of Dinius was by the book and he carries that doj report as proof . Well to the rest of the world Russell Perdock murdered Lynn Thorton and Rodney Mitchell ordered that murder to be covered up . Two Officers have been Terminated for telling the truth . Has Mitchell read woodward and flynn's interview with perdock . does he not know that document is posted on the internet and everybody can read it . Does he not Know that sacramento sheriffs deputies have twice testified they based their entire investigation on perdicks word . Give it up Mitchell the truth is known and has been documented . You guys crack me up with your sign issue. It really doesn't matter how many signs you see out there. Has anyone seen Mitchell or Hopkins out campaigning? NO they really think they have this in the bag! Rivero, has traveled this lake, been to every association, senior center, private gatherings, and to all the debates, has held meet and greets and continues strong! The polls will put Hopkins and Mitchell to shame!

Hello, my name is Karyn Dunn and I am a law enforcement officer in the state of California. I was also a good friend of Lynn Thornton, a recent retiree from a 25+ year career in law enforcement, who was killed by the boat driven by Lake County Sheriff’s Captain Russell Perdock in 2006.


Mr. Perdock will likely never be brought to justice. I hold Sheriff Rodney Mitchell responsible for this terrible and shameful injustice. On June 8, you can too by voting for Francisco Rivero for sheriff.


Mr. Mitchell protected his employee, Russ Perdock, who was second in command at the time of Lynn’s death. I believe Mr. Perdock will never be held accountable for Lynn’s death, which is a grave injustice.


As many of you may know, Bismarck Dinius, who was on the sailboat with Lynn Thornton, was wrongly charged. A jury of Lake County citizens acquitted him – this after a three-year delay in bringing the case to trial and satisfying the statue of limits protecting the man really at fault. The Lake County people on the jury did the right thing in acquitting Mr. Dinius. Rodney Mitchell did not do the right thing by Lynn Thornton, her son, family and friends, or the people of Lake County.


Unfortunately, unless perjury or some other illegal act can be proven, it’s too late to bring Russell Perdock to justice. It was Rodney Mitchell’s job to bring charges forward at the right time. He should have presented a case to the district attorney against his captain, Russell Perdock, just as he did against Mr. Dinius. After all, it was Perdock, who crashed into the sailboat at a high rate of speed in the dark of night. It was Sheriff Mitchell who also did not do the right thing and no amount of explaining can rationalize away his failure!


On June 8, 2010, vote Mitchell out of office!


Frank Rivero is the only active sheriff’s deputy with the strength of character and conviction to speak out against this and other injustices under the leadership of Rodney Mitchell.


Isn’t it time for good character and moral standards to win? Please vote in remembrance of Lynn Thornton.

I just looked at the Sheriffs website "awards dinner". So if you need a good laugh today just go and look at old Rodney and crew. It's funny as hell.
 

We have no concern over the opinion piece in the LCN today, it is in simplest terms a round about way of showing their support for sheriff Mitchell. Simple as that, the facts and situations put forth are half truth's and of little importance to the upcoming race. These names and attempts have been thrown around and are of little to no concern to the elections nor to the work of creating transparency and justice in our county. We do thank LCN for the advertising but wish they would have mentioned the name of the terrible Blog that has them so upset. This to will pass, and now you have one newspaper left that can report the news unbiased which is the Record Bee, let's hope they can keep their head.
 

Thanks Lovelace for putting your self out there. It is greatly appreciated; the fight against corruption is an ugly one; but it has to be done. Kudos to you as Mitchell and his gang would never have been exposed to the general public if it were not for you. ELnews doesnt talk about the people they have intimidated or talked unfairly about,or harrassed by calling them on the phone over and over again; now do they. I know Rivero will answer them back in a big blast they might just regret; as they have portrayed him without any facts-- again. LCNEWS is very vindictive. Don't ever question their reporting they will come after you; or try to.
 

LCN protects McMahon the deputy that walked out? Wasn't he the one who got smattering drunk points a gun at another deputy in a bar and then passes out in a ditch at a party after drinking too much? Maybe that is why he doesn't work at LCSO anymore.

Thanks to all of you for your tremendous support, our phones are ringing off the hook in support of the Lovelace group, we are amazed that this reported small group of people can have such an effect on the corruption and collusion that is in place in our county. We will formulate a response to the wonderful attention that has been afforded to us. We are able to clearly state that this is the perfect example of the breaking down of 15 years of collusion and untoward connections between BOS the Media and the LE in this county. The exposure we have brought forth and to bear on these individuals is going to prove to be one of the greatest helps and assistance to this county ever seen. We will formulate a response to the opinion piece and we will keep firing away and doing the job the citizens have asked us to do. It is funny as each time someone attempts to attack this forum and the citizens posting they get all excited as if some great harm has come to us. Ladies and gentlemen the battle continues and the elections will go on and we will be here continuing to do our job and correcting the wrongs that exist in this county and in the make-up of the power base which does not want their house of cards to tumble. Put a smile on your face folks the beat goes on and we will not be deterred from the goal.
 

I was reared to adhere to "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt. sometimes you must speak out,Vote Mitchell and Hopkins out. I'll only be a fool to you dishonest supporters but I'll be in better company with those that think you should not liar, cheat or steal. To answer post 7:57, go back and read older posts on this site. The posters brag about owning parts of the county and all the signs they put up and how everyone is asking for them. I drove from a friend's house in Glenhaven the other day and it wasn't until I got into Nice that I saw a Rivero sign. It was where the old firehouse was. Then there were a couple more before the cutoff. Yet, Lovelace states Rivero 'owns' the Northshore. I do agree that just because there are no signs there is a lack of support. I choose to not put up signs and choose not to put bumper stickers on my vehicles. That does not mean I don't vote.

Maybe you haven't seen Rivero or Hopkins out campaigning because you haven't been where they were. If you are Mitchell/Hopkins there is no point in wasting your time trying to convert Rivero supporters. It is a waste of time and energy. They are probably out talking to the "swing" voters that haven't decided who to vote for.

On May 17th 2010 Liz Larsen of Lake Co. News posted an opinion piece in their Internet newspaper. This is our response to that editorial and those opinions expressed by Ms. Larsen. We will let the other individuals in this opinion piece speak for themselves and concentrate our response to those ideas expressed directly towards some of the individuals of the Lovelace group of citizens. We will deal with this overview in a point by point discussion of the alleged facts and opinions of Lake Co. News. But first let’s discuss the deep and detailed relationship between the Lovelace group and Liz Larsen, as much has been left unsaid by Ms. Larsen.

The Lovelace group has had a long and involved relationship with Lake Co. News since the launching of the Sheriff Mitchell Watch citizens Blog site. What Liz has chosen to omit from her opinion piece is this deep and involved connection. The Lovelace group from its inception has had well over 100 direct communications with Liz Larsen since our beginning. We have met with Liz on many occasions in person. We have had a great many phone conversations with Liz Larsen. In those conversations we were working directly with her in information gathering for stories in her paper, and over and over Liz contacted us to gather information for her, and, over and over she provided a great deal of information to us that we had asked for. Much of this information sharing has been posted on the blog site, and much of the information in her articles has come from us. We can produce these phone records, and bring witness’s to bear on these matters. As an example in both the Morshed and Wright incidents we were in constant and direct contact with Liz Larsen, at one point Larsen called our group and asked if we could get her the search warrant numbers and documentation she could not get or indicated she did not have access to. This is just one example of many many coordinated efforts that occurred between LCN and the Lovelace group. It appears that Ms. Larsen has somehow forgotten this deep and involved relationship between our two organizations.

Now let’s briefly address the supposed connection to Mr. Rivero that Liz has tried to create. The citizens who launched this important avenue for information and a “voice for the voiceless” did not even know who Frank Rivero was, our stated purpose and goal as can be seen on our Blog site is the removal of Mitchell and Hopkins from power. We did in the course of the campaigns starting and after a complete review of the candidates endorse Frank Rivero for sheriff. This is each of our rights as citizens, and a freedom that is afforded us by our constitutional rights as citizens. In fact, our efforts have been so focused on removing Mitchell and Hopkins as our goal that many of us have only been to a couple of Rivero events. This attempted connection to Mr. Rivero simply put, does not hold water. Many on our site support Rivero and indeed we have become the conduit for those who are supporting Mr. Rivero. Mr. Rivero has never contacted us, nor given any input as to content or function of our Blog. This is by design and has always been an important aspect of keeping the proper separation between what we do and what the various candidates in this election do. We have been contacted by Mr. Baxter directly as an example when he first entered the race, we had many conversations with him, but the separation was foremost in our actions and this was made clear to him as well. He was getting a lay of the land and needed input as to what that picture was. We were happy to do so and made no attempt to further that connection in the same way we have done so with Mr. Rivero.

Now let’s go to some specific points in the opinion piece written by Liz Larsen.

It appears that Liz was unable to make any connections to our citizens group and Mr. Rivero except to say that “Tom Carter and Bruce Forsythe have been seen in close proximity to Mr. Rivero at his campaign functions.” We would have to say that is less then convincing investigative evidence. By the way you will also notice Bruce Forsythe is not on Frank Rivero’s endorsement page, nor any other candidates, this was done to ensure correct political acumen and practices of separation between media and the supporters of a candidate. This appears to have eluded LCN as their support appears to be directly connected to sheriff Mitchell, or at minimum they have come out against Rivero directly, which of course is totally against proper journalistic practices. Liz then proceeds to indicate that Bruce Forsythe was seen discussing documents with Victor Halstrom. I can tell you that brief conversation had nothing to do with Mr. Rivero and I am sure if Mr. Halstrom were asked and he even remembered the brief conversation he would confirm this point blank. So again this is LCN journalism at its worse.

For whatever reason Liz choose to again bring up the DUI of Bruce Forsythe, I have no bone of contention with that statement, I have already come forward clearly and directly on this situation and the great lesson and education I got from that mistake. It is important to note that I am a family man of 34 years of marriage, with two wonderful children, and a spotless record, as I am sure has already been checked out.

Let us clear the air on the phone calls to Kelseyville lumber, there was no issue in my direct on the phone communications with the owner of Kelseyville lumber, in fact I used an unrestricted phone number and had no issues with it being known. When the owner indicated to me he had my number my quote was that is great, now let’s move forward with why I am calling you. Rob Brown did not figure out a thing as reported in Liz’s article my name was already known, and Rob’s grandstanding is little more then his usual egocentric diatribes.

The reported e-mails to the supervisors and other individuals: We have posted on our site nearly every e-mail that has been sent by the Lovelace group, we have no reason to defend those important and detailed communications. We know that the elitist powers in place may not like them but their importance and content is, has been, and will continue to be a method and effective way of communicating the citizens positions in the many issues that face our county. This is America and we might suggest a little thicker skin in these matters would be in order for these public officials

Now lets go to Denise Rushing, no we were not evicted from her property, I would find it hard to believe that Denise made that statement to Liz. There was no eviction, we gave notice of our moving, and did so within the timeframes described, leaving the orchard in good order clean and ready for other tenants to occupy the space. If Denise can produce any documentation associated with an eviction we would invite her to do so. Now why did we leave that location, we did so to protect Denise, we did not want her being associated with our activities and felt it was better to free her of that burden as we moved forward with our work at exposing the corruption in our county, we did not feel it would be fair to her to stay there and therefore we gave notice of our moving and executed it flawlessly.

The attacking of the LCN website by the Lovelace group? Pure folly ask John to show an ounce of proof of this allegation we would be happy to see it. We can guarantee you will see no evidence in that regard.

Let’s talk about the advertising on LCN, here is our position on this matter, we do not believe LCN or the Record Bee should accept any monies for advertising in a small county campaign such as this, it lends itself to bias or non-reporting, as the revenues become more important then proper reporting, we expressed this to LCN very clearly. And we maintain that position.

We have no idea what these alleged physical threats were. In fact John Jensen placed a post on our Blog page indicating this. A citizens called him on it, and he wrote back indicating nothing was posted on our site and gave no further proof of this silly accusation. We invite John or Liz to show us the proof of the Lovelace group doing so, we would be happy to see it.

We believe this covers the main aspect‘s of the opinion piece we wanted to address. The remaining ¾’s of Liz’s write up is LCN’s concerns about Mr. Rivero and others who will speak for them selves we are sure. To close we will continue our efforts across the board, this group which now totals nearly 30 actual members and over 60 posts a day on average is continuing to grow and expand. We will continue our focus on documentation and investigation of the corruption in this county, we invite all citizens to join us on the blog and are grateful for all the support being given.
 

LCN sure has done an about face. I really enjoyed their coverage of the Dinius trial. Although this editorial is about the lovelace group it seems to me it is nothing more than an attack on Rivero and an endorsment for Mitchell. So my question is when did LCN join the Mitchell camp and why?

You know for the Lovelace group being seen as such a bunch of small timers we sure got these folks in an uproar, we have never seen such whining by a supposed journalist in our lives. The good news is we chuckle at these antics, and continue down our choosen road, of bringing justice and transparency to our county. carry on we have a long way to go.

By the way when is LCN going to post that the Rivero IA with Rully is closed and done? Well we got the catfish derby today maybe on Tuesday it will be the strawberry girls again...LOL
 

We now have an admission by hoppy that there is an investigation by the state bar , hoppy has an obligation to disclose what that investigation is for and the ramifications of that investigation . We also have a total black out by the media of this investigation . If hoppy is disbarred he cannot serve as district attorney so why no coverage .
 

FINALLY, we get some mention from LCN!!! That was not really what we expected after we shared our story with Liz. I do believe that is called a "breach of confidentiality". I hope we can raise the caliber of journalism in this county.

There are numerous factoids that the recent editorial got incorrect---not that Liz or John bothered checking their facts (WE sure didn't get any phone call!). I would just like to point out that this blog predates the start of the Rivero campaign by a couple months. Liz Larson knows that we are NOT part of the Rivero campaign. How did we know she knows? Because we told her about our blog before Rivero even announced that he was running. We told her a number of things about ourselves (including our identities, our motives, and information we had uncovered). We have even shared information with Liz from time to time. This was before she breached confidentiality with us and revealed our identities to the Lake County Sheriff's Office--not even Rivero knew who we were at the time.

We have done quite a bit to help Lake Co News. The thanks we get was a breach of confidentiality and trust, and now an opinion piece slandering us. What exactly was the "Research" Rob Brown underwent when he wanted to discover who we were? Easy. He asked Elizabeth Larson.

When people tell us things, they often distinguish between things they want made public and things we should keep private. We would never breach confidentiality in the way Larson and Jensen have done. I have to say, I'm mad about this most of all! Larson and Jenson are not fit to work on a high school newspaper. They would never breach confidentiality with Rod Mitchell or Rob Brown, why would they do it with us, ESPECIALLY after we shared so much with them.

Now that that's off my chest, thanks for the PR! I for one will not be telling Mrs. Larson or Mr. Jenson anything in confidence again.

Rather than reporting the news, Elizabeth Larson seems to want to be the news; a violation of one of the most basic tenants of good journalism. Perhaps she’s upset that the Alexa rating for this blog is 134,539 while the rating for LakeCoNews is 140,847. Since a lower number signifies a more popular web site (i.e. Google has a rating of 1, FaceBook is 2) this indicates that more people are reading this blog then her web site. Perhaps that’s why she lashed out at those whom she used to look to for the inside scoop.

I didn't see Baxter at the trial either, Has Baxter ever been to a BOS meeting? I don't remember reading any Letters to the editor or anything that would show his concern until Rivero laid the ground work. If I remember right What Baxter said he was concerned about was the way Mitchell and Hopkins handled the Dinius cover up. I didn't see Baxter in the court room or on the courthouse steps either. The corruption goes deeper than Baxter has any idea of. The dept needs a good cleaning and Rivero knows where the dirt is. By the way where was Markham been for "ALL" these years? Markam, Ringen Rivero and others knew what Mitchell would do if they crossed him. Rivero knew the only way to expose Mitchell's GOB system was at election time and he was willing to take the fight to Mitchell. Baxter used the opportunity to say look at me. Look where I came from. Look at what I did in San Jose. I'm not saying all Baxters ideas are wrong just that Lake county isn't ready for them yet. We need someone who will build a bridge to the So for the citizens first. Rivero had fought a 15 year court battle against a corrupt politician, the Medical Examiner of San Francisco. That not only taxed almost all of his money, but he had to lay off employees and loose a lot of business due to the suit. After winning the suit, he not only paid all his obligations, but built his small one building into two large business and was rated the highest mortuary in the Bay Area. He has hired, fired, laid off, promoted and demoted employees. As a narcotic's inspector, he conducted advanced investigations.

What you need to ask is, how can Mitchell with his vast experience as a former Mayor, Sheriff and OES Director could he allow his management to become so incompetent. Mitchell promoted a drunk to lieutenant, a sexist misuser of pubic funds who has no regard for county property be promoted to lieutenant and back to sergeant, a captain who never supervised a deputy as sergeant and a female to Correctional Captain just to have her sit in a room and supervise two deputies. Mitchell could not control Perdock or even control the security of RIMS.

Rivero had no action in Lynn Thornton's death. That happened in 2006. Rivero was hired in 2007. Rivero was briefed about the case by deputies who testified, witnesses and Dinius and his lawyer. All documents are posted on the LCSO website and raises questions from Bealand's termination to Mitchell refusing to call for assistance until three days later.

I am sorry if the truth hurts you, but facts are facts and Mitchell must go. Rivero has worked for LCSO and is aware of how the managers operate. There will be no way for Brown, Bauman or Hall to hide there real work habits. Rivero is the man for the job so just get used to saying Sheriff Rivero.
 

The LCN coverage of the election is so biased that I find it questionable when the editor claims to have received a threatening call. Of course, that can’t be verified by anyone except those at LCN or their master, Rodney. The Middletown Times Star had a very well written review of the debates; it didn’t seem to advocate for any one of the candidates in particular but gave a well balanced and objective accounting of the events. That’s real journalism; perhaps John and Elizabeth should pick up a copy.

In a recent study of the responses to the LCN opinion piece it appears that they lost respect from nearly 75% of those who read the article. The biggest hits they took were for showing their bias for Mitchell. Not a good move John, not a good move at all.

To begin with, let me state that my name is Tom Carter. As many of you know I was arrested for medical marijuana by the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA). I am not allowed to discuss this case, but when it is over, win or lose, I will have my say.

However, there is another story I can tell. There is not enough space for all the details but it started several years ago when I was falsely accused of being a deadbeat dad. Before I could bring my evidence to court I was arrested by the sheriff’s department. I had $2,000 stolen out of my briefcase by one and possibly a second deputy. I will withhold their names for now. Neither one is employed as a deputy any longer due to suspicious circumstances.

After I posted an excessive $50,000 bail with Rob Brown, I went to Rodney Mitchell’s office. I was told that Rodney was in, but wanted to know what my inquiry was about. I told the receptionist that one of his deputies had stolen money from me and that I wanted to make a report and get my money back. The receptionist came back and said Rodney was busy, however he would send someone out to talk to me.

A few minutes later Dave Garzoli came out and talked to me. He listened to my story and when I asked to fill out a complaint he said, “Let me talk to Rodney and we will get back to you.” I gave him my phone numbers. I received no phone calls from the sheriff’s department. Inquiries were made by my attorney, who was told that I had no money in my briefcase.

My complaint was not made anonymously; it was made in person, to their faces. I got no response. I moved on.

A few years passed and another deputy sheriff began to tell people things about me that weren’t true, I will withhold his name for now also. It had to do with medical marijuana. He was on the task force. He started telling people not to do business with me because I was going to be busted soon.

I went to see the district attorney, Jon Hopkins. I told him I was reluctant to come to him because of the stolen money incident. I told him I knew of other stories of the same deputy stealing money from someone else and being fired over it. Hopkins replied, “He worked for me in Family Law, but he wasn’t fired, he resigned.” I said, “I don’t care what you call it, he got caught and he’s gone.” I then told him about my relationship with the task force deputy. I told him the things he was saying about me. I thought since he was new to Lake County maybe he was unaware of some of the corruption that existed in the sheriff’s department. I told him of some of the illegal activities of the deputy who was talking about me. I told him about another deputy who is currently on trial for charges brought against him.

I said, “And you think your task force is tight? You have so many leaks in your task force that people get phone calls from the airport telling them where the helicopters are going before they even take off. When my name was mentioned in a task force meeting, I heard about it. All of this came from the mouth of Dave Garzoli.”

I told Jon Hopkins that I grew medical marijuana, and I invited him along with Rodney Mitchell to come to my house to look at my marijuana plants. I told him that I had the legal paperwork required by law. He told me that they didn’t have time to come and do that. As long as I had my paperwork they didn’t care. I told him he didn’t have to come to my house; he could Google my address and see my plants next to my house. He could count my plants from space. I said we need to quit spending all this money on helicopters and hire some computer geek and count people’s plants on Google to see if they were breaking the law.

He said he would talk to the head of the task force and find out what was going on. He would get back to me. He sent me two messages that he was working on it and would let me know soon.

Two months later the task force deputy was removed from the task force and asked to resign or be fired. He resigned. I assumed it was over.

Two years later I was arrested for growing medical marijuana and as I stated earlier, many more details can be said later.

One Lake County supervisor knows part of my story. Two others were personally told, by me, the entire story. Denise Rushing told Anita Grant my story. She said Anita suggested I come forward and make a complaint. I would like to know who else there is to make a complaint to.

I spoke with a member of the grand jury, but was told they won’t talk with someone under indictment.

The Attorney General won’t investigate Lake County. The Department of Justice won’t investigate Lake County. The DEA closes its case on the scandalous helicopter incident it is involved in. Who is left to investigate Lake County?

I contacted Elizabeth Larson from Lake County News. She came to my house and we spoke for over three hours. She was going to investigate my story, help me with some information that she had in her possession, and get back to me. She didn’t call me back.

I spoke with her on other occasions but received no help from her. Now my name is slurred on her website, the Sailing Anarchy website, and the Sheriff Mitchell shadowy blog, by her and her husband, John Jensen.

After hearing part of my story, does anyone wonder why I would support the only candidate attempting to clean up the corruption in this county? Francisco Rivero is the only candidate who has the courage to take on the corrupt element in the sheriff’s department.

This is not about him however, it’s about me. There comes a time in a man’s life when, even at great risk, he stands up for what he believes in. I want to affect a change in this County where I live and your children and my children live.

I know there are good cops and deputy district attorneys working here, and I commend them. I believe that with new leadership the good will become better and that some of the bad can even become good. I look forward to that moment, when others will join me, even if it means risking all that they have, to make Lake County the best it can be.

I have proven to myself and my community many times in the past and I will do so as an example to my children, my friends, and even to my foes.

I’m still here, I’m still fighting, and like Bismarck Dinius, I too will have my day in court.

If there’s an honest interest in returning civility to this election then Mitchell should renounce the videos and clear Rivero in the nonsensical Rully matter. Elizabeth derides this blog though her editorial has no more merit than the least of posts here. Sure, there are sometimes posts on this blog that exceed civility, but her editorial met no higher standard. Tell me, how are the comments connected to that editorial any different from this blog other than that she is the one with the power to choose which messages stay and which go? They may argue that this blog is anonymous but the same is true of theirs; do people not post there under aliases?
