Before we beat up on Baxter supporters, realize that they too wanted to Rid Lake County of Rodney, they just had a different opinion about how best to proceed. We’re united now in the fight to remove Rodney from office.

Yes, there is a runoff unless one candidate gets more than 50% of the vote. With only Rivero and Mitchell running, it seems pretty clear that Rivero will take it in November.
 

Yes a runoff, the majority of the Baxter votes go to Rivero, so take the numbers out and extend them, you have Rivero with 65.5% in November, take 7% off that in-case the Victoria's and Phil's vote for Mitchell and you at worst case have Rivero at 58.5 and a done deal!!!!

Goodbye Hoppy! I knew he wouldn't make the playoffs. I'd like to think my efforts helped. Congratulations to Rivero and Anderson. Don Anderson is a really nice guy who ran a very good campaign. My choice for Sheriff is of course Rivero, but in the DA race I do think Doug Rhoades will make a better DA because he's a better lawyer with a better legal mind with far more respect in the legal community than Don Anderson. Also, Rhoades has practiced almost entirely criminal law, and Anderson actually has very little criminal law experience, and I think that is important. Anyway, the good news is Hoppy is headed back to Santa Cruz! - Ron Green

Everyone should understand the numbers they are huge, in the last election Mitchell got about 9700 votes. He has lost over half his base, and he can't get those back, his votes are his votes, how is he going to try and get the Baxter votes. Is he going to get very many to suddenly say ok we now will vote for you? Very doubtful. The Baxter voters already did not accept the DSA endorsment, so Mitchell has nothing to hang his hat on.
 

Noticed that on the SA page they are getting hit hard with the Hopkins loss, so they are overloading their server. And its not 1:00 in the morning where some of them are.

28 Days til the final count comes in. We did it folks but the job isn't near done! What a terrific outcome. The best part was seeing that Mitchell hurried out of the building once again to hide. He had his boys with him standin right by his side. We said goodnight to him even though we couldn't see him, he may have been hiding in the bushes. Long day and Night going to hit the sack. Lovin every minute of it! 4x

In any form. Rivero claims that as a young man in Cuba he grew up witnessing Castro's oppressive regime. I almost voted for him because of that statement made early in his campaign. I hope he applies the law in a fair and measured manner. I pray that he touches many people who seek justice.

Well Rhoades, I guess its not the number of cases someone takes to court. Maybe, just Maybe its Honor and Integrity, which is something Don out ways you by far and the Public reconized this. There is plenty positive about Frank Rivero and his platform and ideas, let's stress the positive. Let Mitchell have the negative energy to himself. Hopkins, about 70% of the citizens of Lake County said they want change and they got it! Mitchell, about 65% of the citizens said they want change, but they have to wait another 5 months to see if we get it. You should really sit back and think about what the public has said, because you can't bully them into your corner like you do your employee's. I would contemplate how you can make positive change, because otherwise they won't vote for your same ole' bowl of BS. Rivero, your on the right track, but go into battle to "Spread Change" and gain the confidence of the citizens of Lake County.

We agree with Ron Green, now the time has come to change the approach, we made a name and had to take a chance in breaking into the open. If we had not they would have tried to suppress us, that has always been the MO. Now that it has been shown that we can move the cause of change, we have eliminated Hopkins, Mitchell left alone will now spell his own demise, the time has come to bring the voters who were unsure of Rivero back into the fold, they only need to see that they are welcome and that we are going to now move in a positive direction to further the next phase or step which is the removal of Mitchell in November. Done correctly and with more professionalism and a focus on the positives and the great things that will happen now that we have broken through we should be able to continue the movement.

We also have established the new paper, which is now going to gain mores focus as we put that system in to the playing field. This is going to be a great next few months and we can establish a solid foot print on the county. This has been an amazing last 2 days. Our thanks to all the citizens. You guys may have gotten more community support, I simply was turned off by the election tactics. I am student of history.

I voted for Don and Rodney. I was sort of a swing voter, considering Rivero early on but your tactics made me more sympathetic to Mitchell. Sorry guys. Mitchell also treated me fair. I respect that.

I understand not posting my long novel last nite. OK fine. Censorship is un democratic. Were all Americans right? regardless of ethnicity? Backgrounds? Religion? America is still a republic, not a socialist state. Right?

Mitchell is already starting in with his B.S. saying that in the run-off he will "campaign on facts and accurate information rather than the misinformation that Rivero is using to sway voters." What a bunch of crap that is coming from him! Mitchell wouldn't recognize accurate information if it bit him in his rear end! However, HE certainly knows about MISINFORMATION, as well as ADULTERY, COVER-UP AND LIES!!! He has shown no respect for his wife, he is UNETHICAL and a disgrace to law enforcement! Sheriff Frank Rivero sounds really good doesn't it. This is a positive, and we will finish the job the citizens have started. Thank you Lovelace for all your hard work, the change as you have said is approaching. I do not think this could have happened in this county without you guys and your hard work, and exposing everything you have. The public may not know it yet but they owe your group a great deal for helping us to move this forward, you have my respect and gratitude...Thank you.

A great accomplishment was achieved last night, and now that it has been established that change is on the wind, and a tempest is blowing into Lake County. We need to reflect on where we need to go from here. Mitchell is no longer an issue, if we change our focus now to the positives of Frank Rivero, Mitchell is no longer an issue if we do not make him an issue, Mitchell has created what he has created on his own. He owns it. We do not know what his game plan will be but whatever it is we will now take the high ground because we have earned it. We have earned it through everyone's hard work, and dedication to the cause. Mitchell cannot touch us at this point, nor Frank, if we do not give him reason, we have gained the drivers seat, Hopkins is gone, and now we are in charge of the steering to November. Great Job!

As fun as it is to play with the Mitchell Clones, I agree.. Now is the time to focus and put our Energy & Time to where its most needed and take the High Road.

We do need everyone to keep their eyes and ears open, and mouths shut and relay any information that you come across pertaining to Mitchell & Company, either email or call the Lovelace Headquarters so the information can be turned over to the right people who can confirm or deny the information, and when it would be best to Post that Information. A perfect example was when "The Cat got let out of the Bag" when it was mentioned all the "goodies" that a certain LCSO had in a storage unit. As you know, whatever was there, was removed within minutes of the post. No More Tail Chasing, As Sgt. Friday from Dragnet would say... "Just the facts ma'am, just the facts."

And to all the Mitchell supporters,I haven't been wrong on any Information or "Predictions" to date, and I will always post with my style of Warped Humour. It's good to Laugh, and levity is important, but let's stick to the task at hand. November!!

And I just wanted to throw out a huge thank you to everyone who helped support Frank Rivero for sheriff. Keep up the great work we are not done yet.

I listened early this a.m. also. I didn't hear Rhodes blame anyone. All he said was that experience in criminal law would be a factor in the race to come. I think that's true. He didn't say anyone was "dumb" or uneducated. He said the voters need to know the differences in experience between Anderson and him. That's all he said. Ask Herb Gura again if anything said was different than tbat. Anderson claim to be 80% successful at trial but if you've only done 5 cases in the last 5 years? So 4 out of 5, but what does that prove? And what about claiming 1500 cases when the vast majority of those are divorce, property and custody hearings? Where's the real experience in criminal court? That's what he said (I recorded it) and nothing else. Obviously, the battle is on for November.
 

Rhodes and Anderson will work out the differences between the two of them as the next couple of months goes by. The public is where the battle must be won, it is not going to be won through an analysis of who has more of what type of cases, it is not going to be won by an overview of those legal dynamics it is going to be won, by which one of them knocks on the most doors and shakes the most hands and that is it. To win in Lake County you must shake hands and meet and great the people.

You can have as many dog and pony shows as you want, tout your talents all you want, and argue till both are blue in the face, the fact of the matter is Anderson endears himself more to the people, that is the bottom line.
 

Here are some questions that need to be asked as we head into the next few months.

1. What will Baxters role be, will he endorse, and campaign for Rivero, the endorsement is in the bag, but will he help along the way?
2. Will Gary Dixon keep an eye on the kids better and not let them play politics?
3. What road will LCN take, they lost the bid to hit the Lovelace group and hurt themselves bad?
4. Rob Brown will hurt Mitchell at this point will he be taken out of the Picture by the Mitchell team?
5. The Ability to discredit Rivero is gone, to do it now will be the instant death nail for Mitchell, so what does he have to go on?
6. The DSA endorsement holds no water with the public, as was said a long time ago, will the DSA and the SO's back away now knowing their cause is lost?

The answers to some of these questions will be interesting to watch unfold.
 

Rivero did a great job last night. Remember, Mitchell and all his supporters stated from the beginning that Mitchell would run over Rivero. DSA said Rivero didn't have a chance in hell. Well the people spoke up. Mitchell did not get 51% of the votes and didn't even get the highest numbers! Several other political combatants ran and were re-elected and some even ran unopposed. Only Mitchell and Hopkins were the losers.

Mitchell, more will come out soon. Beland will be getting more involved and challenging the deputies on Mitchell's side. Ringen has always been outspoken against Mitchell. All of Mitchell's prior staff wouldn't even support him (except drunk'n McMahon). Even Mitchell's private life is being torn apart. Face it Mitchell, just walk away and retire.

Wise counsel by Rivero 4 Sheriff, wise counsel, at this point Mitchell is only going to get beat up more and more. the DSA has shown us what the public thinks of them, and it would be wise for Mitchell to simply step down, and be down with it. Be careful here if you see Mitchell go on med leave, we have a problem. Hope Beland does step in, he has a good head, and knows what he is talking about. People, do not count your chickens until they are hatched. Mitchell is not a done deal and don't get cocky. We are still 5 plus months out from the general election and a lot can happen. Battle every day and don't ever assume

As for the endorsement from Jack Baxter being a "done deal", nothing is a "done deal" until the ink is on the paper. Every time any of you say "it is in the bag" or "it is a done deal" or any of those other like comments, you make it harder for Rivero when he is out knocking on doors trying to get people to vote for him.

I have a feeling the ones that are making those comments have never been a candidate for any office and have no idea how hard it is to run for a position.

Please stop making Rivero's job harder.

Personally, we have worked to darn hard on the purpose of this site: Removal of Hopkins and Mitchell. Hopkins is now out and Mitchell is in the running with Rivero. The Nov. election is not in the bag and is in no way a done deal! We need to stay focused and positive in getting through these months until Nov. Lovelace, now that we have all asked for positive input could you please see to it that anyone posting rude and negative comments that hold no value, removed. anyone wanting to expose any given situation may do so by emailing Lovelace or contacting them at the number they have given out. Please, lets not lose what we all have worked so hard towards and make it to the next election with views on positive changes in order to help our running canidate Frank Rivero! 4x
 

Well let's slow down a few minutes, now is not the time to throw stones at a hard-working group of citizens, who for 10 months started with nothing and built a system and communication link that grew in leaps and bounds. It is only not a fabrication that every single person this site endorsed came in first place. It is true that a fine line had to be walked, but none the less it is less then admirable to attack a group that worked so hard for 10 months. Congratulations came in from across the board, from the SA folks to many others.

You should keep in mind what we have gone through, the attacks, the slander, the hard times the difficult battles with Brown and the BOS I would take great umbrage with those that would cast stones at the Lovelace group and those citzens who have risked much to cause this action to take place.

Now if you want to suggest that we change the temper and tone at this point? We all would agree to that. I would not suggest you should offer historic advise on how it should have been done. The bottom line is if we did not do it, it would not have been done at all. For those of you who want to cast those stones send in your reports of what you did to change the landscape of this county. For those of you who want to cast stones, you should look at our great success in many areas. In fact let me list a few for you.

1. Two judges under investigation from the California commission and judicial performance, and the sheriffs office...Both for unfair plea bargaining, and unfair practices against the disabled in the sheriffs work program.

2. 6 cases brought before the local Grand Jury, 2 of which were accepted and our being investigated.

3. The exposure of not only the collusion between LCN, Rob Brown, and the sheriff, but connections outside the pale of normal operations.

4. Reports turned in to the investigation of David Garzoli, which were obtained by this group and which held great sway in the removal of Garzoli.

We can go on, and there is much more. But lets not tout our own achievements, Just keep them in mind when you start casting your stones. It was a difficult task for which we are very proud as citizens to conduct. We know when a change of approach is upon us but we also knew what we had to do to get where we got. There was method in our madness, really.

Yes as well all of you are also correct, the time has come for a change of tenor, or tone. The landscape is no different, 50% of what your Blog title is gone. I can attest to the attempt to discredit me, once thought to be the infamous and only Lovelace, dark and evil and yes a DUI. The elation of Brown and Mitchell when they thought "We have got him" he is ours, the site is down. Then finding out that was not the case. Yes it has been a long and difficult battle at times, well worth the price.

Now I would say,the time has come to change and adapt. What people did in the beginning was a choice of approach to meet certain time lines and establish a presence. Cast stones if you want but it was well thought out. Last night for alot of us was an amazing night for the people of this county, that's for sure.
 

When this site turns into a Campaign site then it will have to go by campaign Rules. and every other post will be accused of breaking the "rules." Why can't some people who come on here see that there are many different people posting here and just because someone makes a certain statement doesn't mean it is from "Lovelace", let alone Rivero. I am NOT Lovelace but I do post here from time to time. People often come here to "vent" about things that are not right with local law enforcement, BOS etc. If Lovelace leaves those posts up it is because they feel it is only fair,,, tit for tat! I have seen posts written here by Mitchell supporters that were down right threats,,,evil, vile, slanderous and libelous, leveled at many different people and Lovelace took these posts down in order to protect those people named. If they had left up those horrible posts, some of you would be singing another song. There is always two side to every story but you have to be willing to listen.
 

The reason the people voted for Baxter was because they felt he was the better choice. They didn't vote for Baxter because they didn't think he could win and wanted to take votes away from Mitchell and Rivero that's silly, Thank them for voting their choice. In Nov. They will vote their choice again. I will trust their choice in Nov because I think they voted for change and they will again. With Mitchell there will be no chance for change.

seems like who will be sheriff is still very much in doubt. If Baxter does not endorse and support Rivero those 3008 baxter votes may or may not go to Rivero. Assuming Mitchel and Rivero votes remain the same at least 1293 of baxter votes need to be cast for Rivero to give him the majority or 1738 baxter votes of the 3008 need to be cast for Mitchell to win in Nov.

Considering that the majority of voters on not as dedicated to their candidate as those on this website. It just seems to me to be a very undecided issue. Inspite of all the negative press, to many voters who have not had a bad personal experience Mitchell as sheriff for 16 years represents a safe known choice. Not to me but it would be better to try to see this from joe public's perception than to keep kidding yourself.
 

Rivero is taking the time to meet as many people as he can and I am sure that will be a much better campign tactic than Mitchells hiding in his office and buying the big signs . Ok here is the situation, try to grasp this for those that did not see the post of yesterdays. I cannot put it any clearer, and will do so again. This site now becomes a site with a slight change, to finish the job of taking Mitchell down, we have gotten Hopkins out of the way and we worked very hard for 10 months to assist that cause. We know how to run the site and we have been dealing with corruption supporters and petty comments for many many months.

This is not a site for whining at Lovelace, those silly little posts will not stay up. The purpose of this site now has one purpose for the next few months to go after Mitchell. This site is not about Frank Rivero, this site is not about Jack Baxter. This site is about sharing information concerning Mitchell, anything and everything you have on Mitchell we want it. We have got the man down, and the job will be finished in a few months.

Jack Baxter did a great job in the campaign, we had many many phone and e-mail conversations over the months and we know him quite well and a lot better then a lot who voted for him. He is a decent man who had a plan and knew exactly what he was trying to do and damn near did it. Remember another 8% votes or so and Mitchell was in third place. Great Job Jack Baxter, great job indeed.

Frank Rivero will run his campaign with his people just fine, they do not need our help. Where we citizens will help is in doing just what we did for the past 10 months and we did it quite well, that is bringing the power to bear on Hopkins and Mitchell. Not only that but we want the citizens to bring the information to us on the other corruption issues which we will be focusing on in our county as this site evolves and changes and that is the issues with the BOS, with Rob Brown, and with any and all those associated to closely with Mitchell.

For those that did such a great job over the last 10 months and helped us out so much, and got us information from the inside and the outside, lets go!!! It is now time to resolve ourselves to finishing off Mitchell. All of you become investigators like those that have been helping us in the past and we need more, much more, we want the defeat in November to be so stunning it rocks this county and this state from one side to another. To that end the same rules apply, we really look forward to an amazing next 4 months. If the Mitchell supporters come back, as they appear to have gotten spanked real hard on Tuesday, lets go after them and go after them hard. We know their biggest issue is actually posting something positive about their man. We know the DSA is useless to help Mitchell, we know that Hopkins is now out of the picture. That was job 1 now to finish off Mitchell in a final blow in November to the most corrupt man this county has ever seen!!! Great job everyone lets role. Hello Bruce, I was a little concerned with last evenings posts. Lovelace was NEVER about Rivero, it was about corruption/Mitchell/Hopkins. I am for change but I also know that people have been allowed to come here and vent about the stuff LE has put them though and I think that is good. Because of this site I have seen that LE is behaving themselve much more. I just want to know if it will still be okay to post info on different on the antics of LE. My humble opinion is as follows, let Rivero do his thing (I will always support him) and Lovelace do their thing. I would not be offended if Rivero writes a statement making it clear that he has never been part of this group and does not condone things written here. He should have done it a long time ago because he never had any involvement with this site. JMHO! Also, kudos & thanks for keeping it real, I love you boys.

Yes you can post on the antics of the LE, make sure they are factual and accurate, as the LE does represent Mitchell, you cannot separate the captain from his ship or crew, Unless the crew itself commits mutiny!!! Which as a matter of fact some of them have. N It has never mattered to us the banter about connections to anybody. We knew it was quite simple go after Hopkins and Mitchell. What we don't have to worry about now is what is our focus? It is Mitchell and the citizens coming together for this cause.

Imagine the change to transparency and justice and the LE working with the citizens that we have just turned to. We the citizens have taken the first steps toward major change. Mitchell's removal by or in November it the goal. There is much more to do so we invite that information as well, we have to work on the BOS understanding what transparency really is. Rob Brown has to go. Many things, but one thing we found quite interesting of late every single candidate used the word "Transparency" in the last week of the election. Oh ya a word for this county that we essentially brought into the light, and now everyone is using it. You see it is constant and continual steps to bring back our rights and yes transparency. We should always remember the old saying about losing freedoms:

You do not loose your freedom and control as citizens in one fell swoop, you loose them one small step at a time, and when you recognise this has happened. You have to reverse the process!

I will give you one thing aside from Crom77 and his racist videos of Frank, your reference to us being Nazi's seems to verify at least some aspect of your MO. That having been said, we as a group don't have any issues with you, as long as you stay away from Nazi epitaphs. We sometimes marvel at the paranoia surrounding the word anonymous. Some people who post their name do so because they have the confidence to know they are posting good content. There are many people lest those in the self proclaimed ivory towers forget, who are not that confident, who can't speak or talk in front of people. People Donna, who post because they are not frightened that they have the ability to do it well and would be made fun of. You may know of our policy in this regard, which says we do not allow comments on spelling, grammar, or sentence structure on another person to be allowed. It is sad but true but they must have the same rights not to be ridiculed. There was and is also risk Donna, we know of people who through the last 10 months have posted on the site who never never could have or should have used their actual name. Those situations do exist Donna. We also fancy the amount of people who are anonymous and are just using a different name. But the word anonymous how terrible!

Based on those ideas we would suggest you step down from the lofty title of "name poster" and recognise there are reasons for anonymous postings and inherit risks with it as well. We weigh the balance.

I have seen many posts from you over the last few days, so If you feel this site is a Joke, why do you waste so much time here?

The "Love Lace Group" represents a huge cross section of our Community. We have Lawyers, Doctors, Scientists, Peace Officers, Horse Trainers, Business Owners, Retired Military/Vets, School Teachers, Bikers, Students, Politicians, Pot Growers, Preachers, Felons, Pear Growers, Bank Tellers, and a Mother of a Bronze Star'd (with V for Valor) Army Special Forces Sgt. Son (that would be me!!) And everything else in-between and so much more.

This Site served its purpose early on, to give the Community a place where they could speak out about issues they have had with the LCSO or the DA's Office, with the option of reamaining unknown, or signing their name if they wished to do so.

Yes, there has been both Good and Bad results, but for the most part, its been Good. This Blog is now headed in a new direction for Phase 2. Laugh all you want, as maybe you haven't noticed (even though the dust has settled) EVERYTHING that was posted by the Core Love Lace Members, that some people tried to discredit, all turned out to be true and was posted weeks ahead of the "other" News Sources.

I talk with people every day, not like sheriff Mitchell hiding behind his office desk. People in upper lake, nice, Lucerne, Clearlake oaks, and Lakeport. People I have known most my life. both young and old. NOT one says they Support Sheriff Mitchell and his kids in the DSA. NOT one !!!!! Perdocks MURDER of Lynn Thornton was the icing on the cake. Mitchell did everything ass backwards, everything. Mitchell actions will cost him, his office ( I pray and thank God). It will cost us the taxpayers MILLIONS of DOLLARS. Some laws are written to protect elected criminal like Mitchell, and cops like Perdock and others!!!!!!! We need to take back this County I/We love.

Went out today and spoke with alot of people while running errands. Many said they did not vote. All younger generation. They were confused on the issues and were not sure what to do. They did not realize that they could leave certain items blank. So now they will vote in Nov. and it won't be for Mitchell! Get the word out folks to the young. Alot of first timers out there that aren't sure how to go about it all. Instill in them that there is no pain in doing so and convince them to vote in Nov>

154 days and Mitchell still hasn't cleared Rivero publicly- 154 days -and he still can't find 5 minutes to say it out loud for everyone to hear- Rivero is cleared.

The results are in from the Lake County Registrar of Voters: District Attorney Jon Hopkins has been voted out of office. His two challengers will face each other in a runoff in November.

Here's the first contact we had with Hopkins back in the summer of 2007, the story asked, "Was the wrong man charged?" in the fatal boating crash on Clear Lake.

We reported how the number two official in the Lake County Sheriff's Office, Russell Perdock, was driving his powerboat a reported 40-50 mph at night, when it slammed into a sailboat, killing passenger Lynn Thornton. Hopkins did not charge Perdock with anything -- he charged the man who happened to be steering the sailboat at the time, Bismarck Dinius. Hopkins claimed Dinius was at fault because he had been drinking and didn't make sure the sailboats running lights were on. The defense presented testimony that the lights were on. A jury acquitted Dinius of all charges, and Perdock was eventually fired from his position in the Sheriff's Department.

In the race for the county's top law enforcement officer, Sheriff Rod Mitchell lost to Deputy Francisco Rivero, but will face him in the November runoff.

Good article on the Manifest Bruce, it puts the proper blame on this out of control sheriff. The BOS and Rob Brown, have helped create this situation, good write-up. Wish we had supervisors as sharp as the ones in Seattle.
 

There is an offshoot website called Wikileaks on the net, and it is said this group may become as important as the FOIA in exposing information government officials do not want out and to the public. This is not the Wiki encyclopaedia, but a off shoot of it.
 

I noticed a smell coming out of the LCN Mitchell camp, a few inside folks are reporting that John and Liz have become over the top paranoid about growers, even taking it to the point of thinking they are attacking their house and breaking their Geraniums in their pots!!! Wait a minute, don't they say pot smokers get paranoid??? Liz and John get a grip and stop pushing your personal agenda through your newspaper.

What John and Liz should do is understand that Mitchell is toast, and they better start positioning themselves for that condition, they won't have a reader after November if they don't.

For myself I think Donna has a lot of good to say and in fact her views are quite closely aligned with our views. she may not always(as with most people) post from a non-confrontational perspective, but none the less, she is in agreement about Mitchell and the former DA Hopkins. I believe in the overall picture she is a citizen dedicated to the cause of change. We welcome her and others comments here, by the way what is for breakfast?? Just my view, and think this was expressed in a former comment I placed yesterday.

Was just over on the RB Topix: Judy Thein wrote a article on Team DUI. She speaks of accountability when getting into your car under the influence. YET, she failed to mention anything about getting into a Boat. Go over and write your comments to this. I did! Stating that where was the accountability with Russ Perdock, Mitchell ect. Although Hopkins got his by the citizens voting him out of office for not doing his job and holding the now EX Sheriff Accountable!
 

+1 Bruce. Bashing Donna on this sight is pointless and a waste of time. I too believe Donna has a lot of good to say. She cares about her community and is not the ememy here. I think people should focus on whats important and stop stirring the pot. Just my opinion.
 

Donna is a passionate person and has deep concerns with what is going on. She is trying to get her point of view out. lets not forget the first amendment. Mitchell is the dishonest one not Donna.
 

I do wonder where those 20,000 voters are, this from the article on the Maneifest 32,000 registered and 11,000 vote, those are not great numbers for sure.
 

Yes, 10:23, and it means anything can happen in November, so don't get complacent. It could well be a Rivero landslide, but it could also be a Mitchell victory, there is no telling who will vote then and for whom, especially with 5 months of the campaign to go.

Brings to mind of the Mitchell supporter that posted and bragged about how he pretended to support Rivero to gain information about Lovelace. All the more Reason to vote for Rivero and keep the big city's from bringing their habits here.

Who's In Charge of the Sheriff?

For many years, Lake County residents have been grappling with this question: What do we do about our sheriff? Although years of reported abuse by Mitchell and his hires' activities and practices have occurred, no individual or organization has come to the rescue. Our Board of Supervisors refused any action, the Attorney General refused any action. Reports to the Grand Jury have come to no avail, and the question in our county and across this state and nation still remains: Who is in charge of the sheriff?

It appears that in many counties in our state alone this question is being raised more and more. In our county the hands were thrown up in the air, and the BOS would only say you have to vote him out. This however seems meager solace for a county that, piece by piece, has been taken down by a single man running a single department. How can this be?

In Seattle, investigative reporter Lewis Kamb offers some insight into what is being proposed in our northern neighbors' "World Class City". The King County Board of Supervisors took action, and some here might comment how far sighted an action it was.

The panel, examined problems within the King County Sheriff's Office and came to a conclusion on Wednesday night, adopting a tentative final report. The report calls for more supervision, increased training, the creation of an internal auditing bureau, and the establishment of an independent oversight office among the recommendations for improving the department.

Some might ask, how was this panel granted the authority to recommend such actions? In this case, simple exposure will to action was enough to let the citizens know that someone was there willing to make improvements. Our Lake County BOS could learn a thing or two.

In all, the 10-member panel cited 43 "findings," or problems, within the Sheriff's Office's disciplinary, supervision and management systems. It offered six major recommendations to solve those problems.
Two outside experts, the independent civilian police auditors for the cities of Denver, Colorado and San Jose, California, are now reviewing the panel's report. Both are expected to provide suggestions by Friday.
The citizens of Seattle have taken comfort from these actions; it reflects that their voices are being heard, that the problems are real, and that someone in the Courthouse cares.

One of the recommendations from the report is a civilian review board. This term has arisen in our Lake County elections from the mouth of Francisco Rivero. However, the Lake County Board of Supervisors has been slow to support this idea. The reasons why can be linked to many local factors, not the least of which is the eagerness of BOS members to please and garner approval (and to avoid punishment, possibly) from our current sheriff. The relationship between the LCSO and the BOS has become far too close over the years, and Mr. Rob Brown exemplifies this.
Over the years, Citizens like Phil Murphy and others have tried to take Rob Brown and the sheriff to task, but always to no avail. Years went by as the buddy-system expanded, and the BOS became more and more paralyzed by the habit of their inaction.

The time has come for a new sheriff to take his position. In future years, the people of this county will be able to look back and place the blame for the costs and the lawsuits and the pain squarely on the a reactive BOS that to date has not had the insight to proactively care for the citizens.

Let this be a lesson learned!

Oh, come on. I think what Lovelace was showing, is there was no personal contact by Rivero with the blog. I know that outside, some of the members and Rivero know each other. But, I heard him emphatically say at a couple of gatherings that he does not read the blog, nor does he pay attention to it, actually putting down the anonymous writings. His connection to this blog is it's backing of his run for sheriff. If you want to read more into it, that's your problem. Let's just concentrate on beating Mitchell in November.
 

Sorry Marine, this is the navy talking and you are under my watch. Now this is an order, this is not a Rivero election site, this is a Mitchell watch site, now if you want to cover the back of your brother in battle Mitchell, you go for it. See Marine we are used to slackers, post your case for Mitchell if you want. But you should come fully armed, because the cross fire is going to be tough. If you don't want to play, fine but if you do play by the rules.
 

Well, I keep getting censored. I'm fully armed. Outnumbered(which is how we fight). Every point I make or question I ask gets taken down.

Being open minded I liked what Rivero said early on in his campaign. He then started attacking LCSD. I find profiling wrong and disturbing, but why did he wait so long?

Fine, your attacking Mitchell. I know the man. Your accusations seem way out of character. Any of you old enough to remember the department before he took over as Sheriff? He did allot of good.

If you leave this one up I'll ignore the whole being (ordered by a sailor) thing and your revolutionary activities, as long as you stay non violent.
