You're full of crap all of you pro Mitchell supporters. As Yolo Sheriff's proved, you can't sue based on hostile working conditions just because you don't like the Sheriff. You can only give a public press release that the deputies DSA did a vote of no competence against the Sheriff.

As for shutting down if Rivero is elected. Go ahead but you might want to read a few things. One is your Performance Appraisal Review if you refuse to do you job. The other is a famous court case called the United Federation of Air Traffic Controllers -v- US. In 1984, all the air traffic controllers walked out in protest. Instead, President Regan fired the entire union membership and it was upheld all the way to the US Surpreme Count. All Rivero has to do is fire all the deputies based on refusal to protect the public and have CHP handle calls for service until a new department can be built.

Starting an entire department is not hard to do. In the last few years we have seen Elk Grove Police and others start from nothing.
 

But thats ok cuz he will only have the newest complaints that those waiting on the sidelines will be coming forth with. You guys really think you got it covered eh. Keep it coming you are rather entertaining all of us!

How can you compare Beland to Morshed? Beland's case had nothing to do with any criminal activity. Morshed was accused of a crime and is still being investigated.
 

Oh, and while your checking out those cases fool, you might want to check out all the recent cases having to do with the removal of sheriffs, judges, DA's and many other county officals in Placer County. Those folks had enough just like all of us here in Lake County. Hasn't you mama ever taught you to never burn your bridges? Its too late Baby, your toast!
 

10:09, go read the Ukiah Dailey Journal. Their Sheriff threatened to lay off 44 Deputies and have CHP handle the calls. CHP said they would only do it for a short period of time. And what I find really funny is you think the CHP can do the job of a Deputy. They could do it if it didn't require them to put down the free doughnuts Safeway gives them and they don't have to turn off the tv in the squad room. Yeah that is some law enforcement, but then again maybe that is what lovelace really wants.

If Rivero disobeyed direct orders and made false allegations, where is the charges? BECAUSE THERE IS NONE! Rivero is still a deputy, not on Admin Leave and still possess his ID and badge. Where is the EEOC findings? Why, because they were founded and Mitchell will never release it.

Dutra was the corrupt officer who would not take a report on the theft of my possessions by the LCSO committee. There was a restraining order from Galina Davis to Julee Johnson and he refused to report the theft or get the report about these two women fighting over my possessions. At the time I didn't realize how corrupt the LCSO was and trusted them. My home was sold out from under me illegally and the contents were still in the home. The restraining order showed it was a hostile environment and the LCSO refused to cooperate. I am the one that turned in Paul Simpson of the Lake County Boat Patrol for child porn. Paul Simpson a Fairfax cop came to Lake county with a disability (back injury) but with his association with Mitchell he got a job on boat patrol. Can you imagine a back injury disablility and then getting a job on a boat pounding away across the waves of Clear Lake. Paul Simpson falsified in his own handwriting the testimony of two young girls saying the lights were not on on the sail boat. Dan Noyes has this hand written testimony in one of his reports. Weasn't it great that Paul Simpson was there for Perdock and Mitchell like they were there for him for his child porn cover up? I guess one hand washes the other, and I will wash my hands of them all.
Vote for change. Vote for Rivero. He went up against the corruption and is the only officer brave enough to do so.

Mitchell refusal to release the EEOC investigation will cost him many votes today. Mitchell needs to stop hiding the report. If the report cleaned the Department, Mitchell would have it on the front page.

In 1984, President Regan fired the entire Air Traffic Controllers after they refused to return to work. They were protesting against hazardous working conditions due to working extreme hours. That case was upheld all the way through the Supreme Court.

Go ahead all you anti Rivero deputies and not work. You can all be fired for endangering the public. Just like Elk Grove Police and others, Rivero can simply rebuild LCSO from the ground up. There is a mass of deputies in Sacramento, San Diego and Fresno looking for a job after being laid off.

You may have to wander around to find the location of the results being posted but they will be putting them up as each precinct comes in.

It is quite fun as you watch the vote count as it happens, last year it was on channel 8 but this year it is not, but it is on the web-page as the votes come in.

Does anyone have any information and / or experiences pertaining to Lake County Deputies Paul Deshong and Richard Ward. One of these deputies, believed to be Paul Deshong, was allegedly fired. Does anyone have knowledge as to why he was fired? Was it for brutality or for other reasons? In addition, what are these two deputies reputations, professionaly and personally? Anyone experience brutality with either detective?

The name Deshong has come up on the site before, Ward also has come up on the site before. The information at that time was vague but related to some incident or condition pertaining to those two individuals. It is believe there is something up with this, but no fresh information.
 

Only heard that Ward is a nice guy living a girl from a well known Lake County family and she is going to have a baby.

Deshong has not worked for the department for years. And Ward currently works for the department.

Now, as I have asked before when someone starts asking for information about specific people, I ask you why? What is your purpose for asking about them? Are you just fishing because for whatever reason you don't like those two people or do you have some incident that occurred which you are wondering about?

Also, if you are fishing for information, at least sign your name.

Does anyone know what the story was with Deshong, I thought something was posted on why Deshong left a few years ago, but now don't remember. Something also was up with Ward who is currently employed, but again it thought there was something posted on the site a few months back or something. Is ward a part of the GOB as in Frace, Martin, Dutra, etc etc.?

I am not the guy with the original post I had just thought I had seen the names before and don't even remember what it was about.

I cast my vote for Rivero earlier today. It took about ten minutes and everyone is so friendly; it’s quite a pleasant experience. Do take a few minutes out of your day today to cast your vote. All of the tremendous effort put forth to rid ourselves of Mitchell will be in vain if everyone doesn’t make that small effort now, when it really counts.

After soliciting Beckway’s account of his altercation with Keats, DeShong notified Beckway that he was placing him under arrest. Beckway “pulled away” and “started to spin around, attempting to gain physical advantage,” but then “lost his balance and fell to the deck of the residence.” Preston Decl., Ex. A at 3. Beckway, having fallen forward, had his hands and arms beneath his torso; the officers attempted to gain control of his hands and soon placed him in handcuffs. As the officers helped him up, Beckway complained of a pain to his left leg

Here's the initial portion of the fool's day.

Beckway’s arrest resulted from a dispute with his neighbor, Harold Alan Keats,
2 regarding a cord of wood that Beckway purchased from him. Beckway alleges in his
3 complaint that Keats twice visited Beckway’s home to demand payment for the wood on
4 October 27, 2006, and that Beckway “encountered” Keats later that day at the local store.
5 Compl. ¶¶ 9-11. According to DeShong’s police report,1 Beckway struck Keats on the left
6 side of his face with a closed fist during their confrontation at the store. Keats – who uses a
7 wheelchair – momentarily stood from the chair and grabbed Beckway’s shirt, tearing it.
8 Witnesses interviewed by DeShong characterized Beckway as the aggressor. Beckway also
9 left two phone messages on Keats’ answering machine, the first conciliatory, the second
10 threatening.
DeShong, after interviewing Keats and two other witnesses and hearing the telephone
12 messages, contacted Beckway at his home while accompanied by Ward as a cover unit. He
13 found Beckway to be visibly intoxicated and unsteady on his feet. After soliciting
14 Beckway’s account of his altercation with Keats, DeShong notified Beckway that he was

I was a witness of the altercation at the store; and testified in court to what I saw; I WAS NOT interviewed by any officers including DeShong...it was a botched job of investigating..they didn't ask anyone around except the other drunks that were hanging out at the store; that's where the above info came from; when I testified
kinda changed everything as Im not a drunk. Keats was yelling at Beckway and was the aggressor; he then jumped from his motorized chair and grabbed Beckways shirt collars hanging from him like a monkey, until Beckway grabbed Keats wrists and pushed him back into his chair; causing his fist to "accidentally" hit Keats in the face;
hardly an assault......and Beckway's assault charges were dropped; that's probably why there's a lawsuit; actually the lawsuit came first and when the SO found out about it the SO/DA decided they better put charges onto Beckway in "their defense" that's how the SO works guys......get it, bet you do. This is the real truth!

Deshong was called on the radio and asked where he was and to pull over. He lied and was not where he said he was. Finally, after the LE were looking for him, found him on HWY 175 driving in his patrol car. He was stopped; put into another patrol car and driven to the office; upon where he was tested and sent home later fired.
 

There is new content up on the Manifest newspaper, one report is "stress levels" in counties, Lake County is featured in the article. Quite interesting. There is also the first of Three instalments on the Upper Lakes wild west from a deeper perspective. We will be posting the election results in the Manifest as soon as they are available,and are sure that the Blog will get many hits as the results start to trickle in.

Regardless of tonight's results we wanted to put out a word of heart felt gratitude to everyone who has participated during these past 10 months, it truly has been an evolution of progress towards community and a greater understanding of the need for change. As we have already said, this election will not change a single thing for the Blog or the Manifest, as the people of this county have said loud and clear keep going expand it let's work toward change. We would be in good shape if it was just the sheriff we had problems with in this county. No there is much to do in this county. So this is just the beginnings of a much bigger change and evolution.

Cheers to what is to come, and a great deal of thanks from the Lovelace members, and the Manifest to all the citizens who have helped and participated in planting this first seed of change.
 

Post 1:41pm, no, he did not build a cabinet for me. He never built anything for me. I just have a problem with people that are fishing for information and don't give a reason why they are fishing and don't have the spine to sign their name if they are looking to try and stick it to someone.

In the Record Bee is Riveros campaign add. He asserts that there are arrest quotas and that veterans with PTSD are suffering because of those quotas. He Asserts that the LCSD needs more reserve volunteers.

I remember you from when I worked at CPD. you used to stop by now and again at the old station. I thought you were pretty cool! You don't remember me I'm sure.

The campaign add left the idea that all of the sudden there would be this huge cadre of reserves. How many POST certified people who can pass backgrounds wanna work for free? If there is this cadre of reserves they need to be actual cops, not political appointees. Well, this is nothern Cali, so what am I thinking... Go to Marin Co. Just play golf with the Chief and you can get hired.

I've learned to love Lake Co and I think Mitchell has the better grasp on things without turning the place into San Rafael or Mill Valley. This is Lake County. Rivero, a good guy, however IMHO needs to go to the city. Baxster should go back down to the silicon valley.

I haven't seen the ad, but, there are many retired cops in Lake County. Some are not in shape to work but many are. Rivero has had contact with a number of them that have said they would be more than willing to come on as reserves to help the county.

Mitchell has done nothing to help keep the reserve program going. There could have been local adds on the radio and in the paper to try and find interested candidates, but he has done nothing but let the program die.

As for Mitchell having a grasp, everyone is entitled to their opinion, that is one of the things that make life interesting. I tend to disagree with you after having to work under his very questionable leadership (if that is what you call it).

Time for a change. Time for him to go back and do what he does best, stocking produce.

Times have changed Sta Marine, times have changed, simply the fact that you could even say Mitchell has a grasp on things leaves you with very little credibility. Really you have to be able to see the reality of the carnage that Mitchell has created. You cannot possibly be able to look past it all. You just can't, even those who in the past Mitchell voters have turned away from him, and for, it is sad to say good reason. Well you have cast your vote and so be it, that is your right to do so. However with a Mitchell defeat we hope you will be able to grow and expand into what will be a different reality.

what opportunities this LE Department can acquire. Before CalFire; our department had 6 volunteers [second largest district in CA] The money was wasted and priorities were for self gratification...new blood, new ideas, new management can create enormous new levels all around. We have people who have written grants for equipment we thought we'd never be able to afford and 7,8 years later we have 35 new volunteers; all their gear is paid for by grant money. They are now Paid Call, nothing is impossible.. We need someone new to stimulate ideas to make things better make good things happen so that Lake County can be restored of its' good reputation that has been destroyed during these last 16 years. I believe in Rivero
and his priorities, it can be done, cuz he's dedicated, not ruined by his own power, and a good man.
 

While out doing last minute campaigning and talking to folks to be sure they make it to the polls, I had the opportunity to speak with this really sweet elderly lady who was with her husband. She had to let us know that she is a absentee voter and has already done so, and she voted for Rivero. We thanked her. Then she added, you wanna know why? We asked why> She stated it wasn't anything Rivero has said or done although she finds him to be rather pleasant. It was his Handshake! We smiled. She added, you can tell the character of a man with just a handshake, and it was strong! God Love this women, she made me think of my grandfather who use to tell me the samething growing up! Just wanted to share a good day a nice talk with some folk in Lake County! We should never forget about our seniors, they are full of wisdom! 4x
 

Indeed 638 it use to be that gray hair and wrinkles were thought of as the sign of wisdom and experience to be cherished and looked up to. The Grandmothers and Grandfathers in the family were the ones you went to for advice and a firm resolve. Knowing they had the wisdom of their years behind them. Today the seniors are far to much looked down upon, far to much seen as a nuisance, and that should not be the case. Now in society it is looked down on to get old, the hair is coloured, face lifts to take away the wisdom of wrinkles, thought to be just bad drivers their value to us is being lost on the plastic society who scourges the wise in our humanity who we call Grandmother and Grandfather. I remember the first book my grandfather gave me to read, it was quite a funny situation.

He, called me over and said "here take this and read it, it is very good" I said "ok Grandpa"....It was Einstein's theory of relativity!!! Filled with all the calculations and everything. I thought gee what am I going to do with this, it isnt Treasure Island or Old Yeller!! He said 'read the last page."

The last page was Einstein confessing an understanding he had come to. He said in paraphrase; Above all of this we study, and all the system of our numbers, all the stars we can count, above all of this is a far greater wisdom, and of that I do not know.

That's a grandfather or a grandmother...And we are losing it.
 

Kip, wether he built your cabinets or not, as I said, R. Ward is a good guy and I am not trying to stick him or anyone else. The reason to fish is to get informations for the general public to build the case. 27 years as an officer, you should know best how to build a case, cops always fish for informations or have you forgotten so fast? I'm just not sold on his ability to run the whole department, better. He went on the attack to boost his campain, instead of just selling his own qualifications. There are many communities not only in this state but in the country that have evolved into a much more cohesive system of support and cooperation between the community and their local LE. The leadership of this sheriffs department Rodney Mitchell has stigmatised the community, that is what we are trying to change. No one can deny that is an admirable goal,from either side of the isle.

You know what's odd? The important thing to look at is the Baxter folks DIDN'T vote for Mitchell. In fact, so far, almost 66 % of the voters DIDN'T vote for Mitchell. The numbers speak for themselves... there is no reason to think that 66% of Baxter's vote wouldn't also go to Rivero. If so, Frank wins. Even if half of Baxter's numbers went to Rivero, he's still win. I guess we'll have to wait til then to find out, won't we?
