My license number is 855439. It's public information, Einstein. I'm registered with the building dept. along with my liability insurance and worker's comp certificate. I have had 3 licenses, two of which are inactive, as I don't need 3 licenses. My first license was from the early 70's and started with the number 2. If you or your expert know anything about license numbers, you will realize that I was probably licensed before you were even born.

The only license found is a partnership qualify license in another name which could be family.

Let's see that recording is not admissible in court , but if mr. Bramlett is prosecuted for it then the recording becomes a court document and therefore would be admissible in court . Seems pretty risky for mr.mitchell to try anything .

I can tell you that the Hatfield case is not the first in this County in which someone called for mental health and the LCSO denied them the help they needed and took them to jail. I know of several. One in particular, the deputy had only been on the job 3 years, and had no training in mental health screening, but refused to take him for evaluation. The guy's wife called the jail over and over for 6 days, and they still refused to take him for evaluation, stating that "he hasn't asked", and refusing to let him sign a consent for someone to advocate for him. They eventually put him on suicide watch, but placed him in the cell and hung a blanket over the window on the outside. They would peek in once an hour by lifting the blanket a bit. Had he needed help, it would have been too late. I know that suicidal people are required to be on 24 hour line-of-sight observation in the hospital, and have to be checked every 5 or 15 minutes, depending upon the circumstances. LCSO was offered training in mental health screening by Lake County Mental health, but refused to participate. This is documented at BOS meetings, and by Mental health in their annual report. Hopkins is trying to prosecute the guy for statements he made while trying to get mental health, and just recently tried to add additional, duplicate charges when they found out there is a Miranda issue with their original charges. The judge has twice turned them down on the new charges, but 2 years later, they still tried to stack on additional charges. This case is still pending, but will likely end up costing the County more $$ due to Hopkins and LCSO. Mitchell only spoke with the guy's wife when Mike Thompson's office called him and asked what was going on, and then told her that he wasn't going to say anything bad about his "boys". However, more people should ask why LCSO didn't take advantage of the free training from LC Mental health, yet they continue to deny care to those who need and ask for help. Perhaps it has something to do with the "like circumstances" policy (i.e. - quota system)?

The Lake County sheriff's leadership skills remain the primary target in a three-way race for his seat.

Incumbent Sheriff Rod Mitchell is facing challenges from Francisco Rivero, a deputy within his department, and Jack Baxter, a retired San Jose Police sergeant.

For the past year Mitchell has been busy deflecting allegations of mismanagement, cronyism and racial discrimination raised by Rivero. He calls the charges “spurious” and points out that Rivero aired them on television shortly after he was passed over for a promotion to sergeant.

Mitchell posted a comprehensive rebuttal to the allegations on the Lake County Sheriff's website.

Yet there is evidence of turbulence within the department. At least five law enforcement officers have been fired or quit during the past year.

They include one who was charged with stealing from the sheriff's armory, one accused of posting information about an internal investigation online, one who embarrassed the department by using marijuana eradication grant money to take helicopter flight lessons, and one who was involved in a fatal boating crash on Clear Lake.



“It's a little suspicious so many people are being disciplined,” Baxter said.

He believes that something is clearly amiss, and said the department suffers from a lack of public confidence and credibility, symptoms of poor leadership.

Sheriff Mitchell said he cannot discuss why the officers left and whether they were fired or quit, but contends his department is in good shape. He said it suffered from low morale after Rivero accused the department of racial profiling but is bouncing back.

“This is a good department,” Mitchell said, adding that he has done a good job and should be re-elected.

Baxter and Rivero say good leaders must take responsibility, something the incumbent has failed to do. For example, Mitchell told county supervisors he knew his lieutenant was logging helicopter flying time while conducting marijuana operations, but didn't know the officer also used marijuana eradication money to pay for flights when there were no operations. The issue came to light only after the officer made a hard landing last year.

“The fact he initially said he wasn't aware of it was a poor excuse at best,” Baxter said.



Mitchell, 51, has been in law enforcement for 30 years, 16 of them as sheriff, overseeing about 200 employees and a $27 million budget. The unions that represent his employees have endorsed him.

This is his first re-election challenge.

Baxter spent 38 years with the San Jose Police Department, retiring in 2003. He has worked in all aspects of law enforcement, including narcotics, homicide and bank robberies and has extensive experience supervising divisions that were larger than the Lake County Sheriff's Office.

“I know very well how things work,” Baxter said.

Rivero, 51, has been in law enforcement for nine years, including six in San Francisco and almost three in Lake County. He owned and ran a mortuary business in San Francisco for 25 years.

“I have plenty of law enforcement and business experience,” he said.

Let me put all of you pro Mitchell supporters minds to rest. Dennis contacted Becky and informed her that they were taping their conversation before it started. I spoke yesterday with Dennis for quite a long time and confirmed this several times.

Also, None of the parties were inside of the house. You must step through the threshold of a home before it is considered no longer in public. You cops out there even know this. You can't arrest a person for public intoxication in his house, but as proven in case law, once he is at the threshold of the house (the doorway) you are no longer in a private place.
 

When I was going through a battle with my ex, I was given a recording devise to attach to my phone by the District Attorneys Office. The ex kept calling when he was ordered not to by the courts. This would be the same as taping someone wouldn't it? And is so, why of all people the DA's Office be the ones to give me this devise if it is illegal?
 

If you do judge a person by their actions ,His pledge to his wife and his oath to us over the Dinius case tells all I need to know about him. So much for promises kept.Karma to you Mitchell.

My daughter, Erica, and her ex-husband, Joe, got along better than most married people I know, and they agreed to move from Iowa to California. Although Joe didn't smoke pot, or anything else, because Erica was, and remains, active in Medical Marijuana, they moved onto Eddy Lepp's farm. Although massive, Eddy's farm was legal under California law.

When the federal DEA busted Eddy's farm, Joe moved to Nice, started Glassman windshield repair, got a job as a soccer coach at Upper Lake High, and with Erica, started the Hey Taxi service in Lake County. Joe slept about four hours a night. During the time the service was running, three or four drunks a night would get rides home that otherwise would have to drive or walk. I'm sure there were fewer DUI's and public intoxication arrests when the taxi service was available.

But June 27, 2007, Morgan Matthew Jack murdered Paul Joseph Womachka. He stabbed Joe four times in the neck, duct taped his hands to the steering wheel of the taxi, and then drove the taxi, and Joe's body, into the lake. Jack says he wasn't responsible because he had gotten drunk at the bar at Robinson's Rancheria, where he lived at the time. Drunk at a bar where it was known he was on parole!

Between the sparse evidence accumulated, without any cooperation of the tribal witnesses from Konocti Vista where the crime was committed and the prosecutor's plea-bargaining the case to accidental homicide (how could any of that be "accidental"?), Morgan Jack

Ya 954 why is it so hard for our local media to print the truth. Oh that's right Katy is related to those in the SO, and LCN, is well whatever. Seems such a simple thing to report on.
 

I'm glad the PD printed the story of the problems in our sheriff's department, and Mitchell's ineptness, but I didn't like the way it said Rivero made his charges on tv after he was passed over for sergeant. It failed to say the charges against Rivero were already aired in the media and were recently proved to be wrong. Also, the article showed Baxter to be the most experienced man for the job of sheriff. I find that to be a biased statement, that demeaned Rivero's experience for the job. How did Baxter have all of the command experience, when he was only a sergeant...for 38 years? There was too much unsaid in the article, and it sure didn't help Rivero. You folks who want Rivero to be our next sheriff, The man who is on the inside, and has put his life on the line for the people of Lake County,there are only three days left to help him by telling everyone you come in contact with, to vote for *Rivero for sheriff*.
 

There is no doubt the piece could have been written better by the PD, but the headlines worked, sometimes it appears reporters are trying so hard to be fair, that they actually miss the story. It is a malady they have, in their fear to be seen as un-bias. Where as in Lake County we have a media group that is slanted by far to many connections to nepotism and to local government relationships.
 

I checked Rivero's calendar, and I couldn't find Sunday's meet at Grebe hall in Kelseyville. I must have seen it earlier here, where it said there would be tamales earlier in the day, and dinner later. Is this for real?

Great post from the comments section, that should open the eyes of people, it has been said by many people that Rhoades was slow to get to the risky situations and slow to respond to the aid of his peers. This is a perfect example of this. Thanks for posting it.

So, folks, awhile ago I posted my "John, John, John" comment, but did not say who John is. It immediately came down, confirming my strong suspicion. So, what does this mean? This means that "Sphere" is John Jensen, from Lake County News, Liz's husband, who runs the computer side of this newspaper. I reposted, and now I am posting this. John, I wasn't certain, but since it came right down, I am now. Thanks for the help.

The first clue was when you called me a nincompoop. This was shortly after you called Joan Moss a nincompoop. That is a rarely used word, that I had not heard since grammar school in New Jersey. Then, you questioned what appeared to be a quote from the Bar in a Hopkins story, saying you doubted those were really the words in the letter from the Bar to Haltom. The story appeared to quote the letter, but in going back and reading it more carefully, it may have been that Liz was only quoting what Haltom told her or emailed her was in the letter, as opposed to actually seeing the letter. Only you would have known this. I have read all your posts, which only strengthened my theory. Even today I was not absolutely certain, but thought I'd try to trap you by calling "Sphere" out as John, but that could have been any John. And, you immediately removed my post. Guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. Even Hopkins could prove that in court. Are you going to take down all my posts now? Freedom of speech? Don't really believe in it? As a member of the editorial board of the Lake County News you should have the guts to post as yourself, not anonymously as "Sphere."
 

John tries one attempt at covering his ass, but it doesn't work. Ron and another poster comes right back at him. Wow that is party over for not only John, but that has to be the end of LCN at least the Jensen side of it.

Yes, John, sometimes you do post under your own name. But when it suits you, you post under Sphere or perhaps other aliases as well. I do post under my own name, always. I do a radio show as Ron Green, The Philadelphia Lawyer. Most people know the Philadelphia Lawyer is Ron Green, I certainly don't try to hide that. So, if you (John Jensen) are not "Sphere" why did you (in control of the posts here) immediately remove my first post when I referred to "Sphere" as "John," without saying John's last name? Wanna explain that one John?

I don't hate Rivero though I'm sure that little fact doesn't fit your mythos. I'm deeply concerned about his deception and strong ties to at least one major grower.
I'm concerned he hasn't got the experience or know how to run the department and I'm concerned that he's far too emotional for the job.
But hate him, no.
More like serious disappointment in his judgment and behavior for one seeking the top cop job. What kind of real cop would throw an entire department under the bus the way he has? It just doesn't happen.

In the big news of the day, Ron tells us that an attempted burglary at one of my properties today was politically motivated by people who were stealing the irrigation lines I put on the deck for my wife's flowers. They disconnected and had rolled it all up before they were caught by my neighbor. Yes, deputies have been out again as well as some other friends.

I wonder how Ron knows this is politically motivated? Now who would be politically connected with people stealing gardening stuff? Hmmmmm

They include one who was charged with stealing from the sheriff's armory, one accused of posting information about an internal investigation online, one who embarrassed the department by using marijuana eradication grant money to take helicopter flight lessons, and one who was involved in a fatal boating crash on Clear Lake.
“It's a little suspicious so many people are being disciplined,” Baxter said.
He believes that something is clearly amiss, and said the department suffers from a lack of public confidence and credibility, symptoms of poor leadership.
Sheriff Mitchell said he cannot discuss why the officers left and whether they were fired or quit, but contends his department is in good shape. He said it suffered from low morale after Rivero accused the department of racial profiling but is bouncing back.

“This is a good department,” Mitchell said, adding that he has done a good job and should be re-elected.
Baxter and Rivero say good leaders must take responsibility, something the incumbent has failed to do. For example, Mitchell told county supervisors he knew his lieutenant was logging helicopter flying time while conducting marijuana operations, but didn't know the officer also used marijuana eradication money to pay for flights when there were no operations. The issue came to light only after the officer made a hard landing last year.
“The fact he initially said he wasn't aware of it was a poor excuse at best,” Baxter said.
Mitchell, 51, has been in law enforcement for 30 years, 16 of them as sheriff, overseeing about 200 employees and a $27 million budget. The unions that represent his employees have endorsed him.
This is his first re-election challenge.
Baxter spent 38 years with the San Jose Police Department, retiring in 2003. He has worked in all aspects of law enforcement, including narcotics, homicide and bank robberies and has extensive experience supervising divisions that were larger than the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
“I know very well how things work,” Baxter said.
Rivero, 51, has been in law enforcement for nine years, including six in San Francisco and almost three in Lake County. He owned and ran a mortuary business in San Francisco for 25 years.
“I have plenty of law enforcement and business experience,” he said

If memory serves, Cox stole Helbush's patrol car and Don passed that car in Middletown (on his way to the murder scene) and gave pursuit knowing it wasn't being driven by a Deputy. The other officers were responding to Manning Flat, where they were dispatched to. Don did an excellent job that night, but don't disparage the other Officers for going where they were told. Fortunately Don was in the right place at the right time!

I have tried all afternoon not to respond to John Jensen's (of Lake County News) diatribe on here about me. But, I must. John writes this defamatory stuff, misrepresenting from private emails from me to his wife Elizabeth Larson: "In the big news of the day, Ron tells us that an attempted burglary at one of my properties today was politically motivated by people who were stealing the irrigation lines I put on the deck for my wife's flowers.... I wonder how Ron knows this is politically motivated? Now who would be politically connected with people stealing gardening stuff? Hmmmmm"

To give you an idea of John's journalism ethics, here's what was really said (and I will not embarrass Elizabeth too much by quoting verbatim her emails to me, I will only quote my own and what is absolutely necessary from hers so all can understand the exchange):

Elizabeth emailed me that she thought it was pot growers responsible, I won't quote her exact phrase. I said: "Sorry if there is a break-in, why do you think it is pot growers"?? Why would a pot grower break in to your place? And, I detect a bit of prejudice over pot growers, the vast majority of whom are nice people, many if not most doing it for legitimate medicinal purposes."

Elizabeth then told me why she so thought, and I responded: "Sounds like an idiot or two mad at you, but not necessarily pot growers. I'm sincerely sorry this happened to you."

Elizabeth said: "[T]they took my potted plants and dumped them out, took potting soil, took the little irrigation system for my geraniums and cut it up . . . ."

I then wrote her: "Elizabeth, why would they cut up the irrigation system instead of taking it to use on their pot plants? I am sad this happened to you, really, but it sounds more like some idiot mad at you over politics or something. Sphere, whom I believe to be John, really blasted me and called me all sorts of names. I was about to hit the button to post a response, but was blocked. And, all my posts on the Ringen letter were removed. Nice work on being a so-called liberal believing in free speech, John. So, here's the post I was trying to post when John banned me from the site:

"Haltom told Lake County News that he also received a letter from the State Bar notifying him of its decision. That letter, which he said was written by State Bar counsel, stated, “After review, I have concluded that there is insufficient proof to obtain a culpability finding. Therefore, I am closing this matter for lack of sufficient proof. Clearly the State Bar is concerned about the issue of pre-trial publicity in this matter. Unfortunately, it does not appear as if the matter could be proved by clear and convincing evidence.”

On first reading, since this was in quotes, it appeared that Elizabeth had the state bar letter when she wrote this. She did not say she was merely quoting Haltom who allegedly was quoting the bar letter. It appears that nobody without inside information from Elizabeth would have known otherwise. Only after I read it again, after seeing your remark, did it appear that perhaps she was taking Haltom's word for what the letter said rather than obtaining it from him and having it in front of her when she wrote the article.

Again, ad hominem attacks (name calling) have no place here. If you are not John, why not tell us who you really are?

So, I still want to know why John Jensen immediately removed my first post on this letter, which was merely an attempt at being cute and telling John I was on to him, without telling the world. I wrote, playing on the words in his post:

"John, John, John (Sphere, Sphere, Sphere)- What happened to make you such a sad and bitter man? Time was John (Sphere)that you were a decent guy who had the respect of your peers. Not any more. What happened to you?"

Now, very few would know from that post that I was intimating that John Jennings was Sphere. It could have been any John. So, why did John Jensen immediately take it down? I was just going to leave it at that, kind of a private thing between John and me, but him taking down that innocuous post really made me mad, and also made it obvious my suspicions were indeed true.

So, folks, awhile ago I posted my "John, John, John" comment, but did not say who John is. It immediately came down, confirming my strong suspicion. So, what does this mean? This means that "Sphere" is John Jensen, from Lake County News, Liz's husband, who runs the computer side of this newspaper. I reposted, and now I am posting this. The first clue was when you called me a nincompoop. This was shortly after you called Joan Moss a nincompoop. That is a rarely used word, that I had not heard since grammar school in New Jersey. Then, you questioned what appeared to be a quote from the Bar in a Hopkins story, saying you doubted those were really the words in the letter from the Bar to Haltom. The story appeared to quote the letter, but in going back and reading it more carefully, it may have been that Liz was only quoting what Haltom told her or emailed her was in the letter, as opposed to actually seeing the letter. Only you would have known this. I have read all your posts, which only strengthened my theory. Even today I was not absolutely certain, but thought I'd try to trap you by calling "Sphere" out as John, but that could have been any John. And, you immediately removed my post. Guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. Even Hopkins could prove that in court. Are you going to take down all my posts now? Freedom of speech? Don't really believe in it? As a member of the editorial board of the Lake County News you should have the guts to post as yourself, not anonymously as "Sphere."

Flash: For the past week or so the Rivero campaign has been trying to get an ad run in the paper the information is concerning the information that Private Investigators and others have recovered and it was to be run in a campaign ad for Frank, the Bee began to argue that it was to hard and was more of a hit piece then an ad. But in the end it was decided,(at least it was thought) that the ad would go in. At the last moment with Gary Dixon out of town, they told Frank's campaign manager they would not run the ad!!! They pulled the plug at the last moment. Permission was denied from the Editor of the Record Bee, who by the way has a Mitchell bumper sticker on her car. Her name is Cristine Hammers. She is a full tilt Mitchell supporter and made the decision herself, while apparently Gary is out of town. This is just the beginning!!
 

Phil is pretty openly "Smurf" (outed numerous times by Herb and others) and would never write stuff like Sphere. By the way, Elizabeth just went over John's head and re-posted my posts that John took down earlier today. Let's see if they stay up when John returns. Good citizens as all of you can tell the corruption supporters of Mitchell have had a bit to much to drink. Today has been an amazing day, and there is much more to come in the next day or two. What is going to be exposed is going to shake the system to the core. In a single day the citizens of this county have exposed the deep level of corruption and collusion that exists in our county, all of this information is going to be given to the BOS and distributed through-out the county. UNBELIEVABLE, John Jensen of Lake County News. John went and took down my comments from numerous letters written by others, even those following my own letter. Talk about vindictive! I can't believe anyone would be this silly. Most of these posts were run of the mill, not at all objectionable, and not mentioning John at all. I thought you Lovelace folks were crazy, the way you always attack John. Now I know the truth. Elizabeth, he is an embarrassment, please do something. And Lovelace posters, please keep it clean, I hate some of the anonymous posts not supported by hard evidence, especially those attacking people for their sexual habits, even if I don't support them as candidates. Sexual innuendo has no place in a political campaign, no matter how bad the candidate.

Rodney takes such a pounding from citizens that are fed up with him; starting with the first caller whose wife Rodney had an affair with and that sets the tone for the next two hours. Watch as Rodney tap dances around the extra-marital issue and tries to breathe more life into the long dead Rully matter. Baxter even worked up the energy to interject a couple comments as well.

Mitchell you have been caught we have it from "inside" authority that you held a meeting with the officers of the SO in that meeting you admitted to having affairs in front of all the troops!! This is the exact truth, they either thorough their own miss-guided thoughts, or purposeful actions are putting this out. That's right all the citizens are the major mean and terrible pot growers. We swear this is true, and we now have according to their own paranoia GERANIUMGATE!!!! aHHHHHHHHH say it isn't so. Thanks for your post Ron 141, as most people know we are trying very hard in a difficult situation to keep the site clean and above average standards. Profanity posts are removed as soon as we have an admin person get to them. We are working hard at getting the truth out in a sometimes difficult arena to do so. Yesterday was a very telling day in the exposure of many aspects of the collusion and corruption which are currently effecting our county. Most do not know because we remove them as soon as possible the rancid, and childish posts that are placed on the site by the Mitchell corruption supporters. These posts are rotten to the worst degree, and we will not even bother to give examples as to the small minded nature of these attempts to hurt our image. No we are all not perfect and anger and frustration does rear its ugly head by way of postings. To that end we are committed to keeping our site clean, and as well in the launch of the Manifest we will endeavour to do the same.

Yesterday was an amazing day Ron, and even us "koolaid" drinkers would not have thought LCN would have stooped as low as to cut you off from posting on their site. I just watched the last debate on sheriff. Rod Mitchell says he is a leader but when a a guy in the jail hangs himself on the jail sheets, he sends a deputy to inform the parents. He said their is a chain of command. Rodney how arrogant of you. If a family member of anyone in our county gets arrested we do not expect them to die in jail and to think that could be the last time you see your family member alive. Rodney you should have gone to the parents your self it looks like you are not the LEADER you say you are. Vote Mitchell out!!!!

What a beautiful day it turned out to be. Wild West Days was ever so packed, lots of great food and vendors, along with alot of sensible voting citizens. Rivero rec'd quite the welcome as the crowd clapped and shouted in approval. Baxter was up on his high horse riding and when he got down he wasn't that tall lol. Denise Rushing displayed showmanship as well as Don Anderson who walked with all the kids. god love that man, real family guy! As for Mitchell, well guess I wouldn't want to come out and play after getting busted on the affair either. Alot of positive folks today and everyone is really excited to begin the celebration of our new Sheriff RIVERO!
 

Just saw for the first time Rods poster boy commercial. What a fricken joke that is. Especially now that it's out of the bag he screwed around on his wife.
