As for leadership Mitchell couldn't lead to horse to water.

3. No signs of blood on the woman.
4. Mitchell waited another four months to start the investigation.
5. The press finds out about Rivero's IA just after Rivero was served served.

Now look at Morshed.

1. Martin finds the unauthorized released report.
2. Mitchell starts the investigation almost immediately.
3. Although not a crime against persons, Morshed is placed on Admin Leave at once.
4. Mitchell and Brown fires Morshed a few weeks later for not answering questions.
5. Morshed's case in not a violent felony.

Now compare the two.
1. Accused of: Morshed's case is a crime against government. Rivero's case is a violent felony.
2. Morshed's case is investigated immediately. Rivero's case is investigated 4 months later.
3. Morshed refused to cooperated with the investigation. Rivero demanded an investigation.

It's just to bad that you can't understand some simple questions. Can't even figure out one little answer? I know it hurts that Mitchell can't manage his people (or your), or even simply conduct what appears to be an easy investigation. Must have been Brown doing the IA and dumped it on Basor before anyone found out his screwed up another IA.

Maybe Garzoli can make some sexist remarks to you and get you laughing at sexism to cover up the racial misconducts. Or maybe you can get Perdock to help you operate a boat to cover the biggest mishap in Lake County history. Maybe Wright can fix you gun and make it an illegal assault weapons. I got it! FYI, R 4 S signs are considered property of the home owner! If you get caught taking a sign down that is on the homeowner's property you can be prosecuted for theft!
 

All I have is a Game Trail camera with infrared flash. it does 15 or 30 second videos or 3 shot pictures. The best part is it is batt operated and since I live on hy 20 I can set it up anywhere I want. If you go for a sign out in the middle of nowhere you might want to smile. Gotcha!

That's a good idea on Bruno's, we hammered Borgi at K-ville lumber and on the phone he could not answer the question of why he won't use his business name on the endorsement. We asked him over and over and could not give an answer, then we told him the answer, it was that he wanted and needed the business. So he didn't want to use the business name so he just used his own name. He got caught with his pants down and looked like an idiot. We got to tell ya, Borgi is not the sharpest sitck in the wood pile, really it is hard to imagine a guy like that is able to run a business, well that may be short lived as he overspent and got in on the back end of the housing boom like a dumb ass. Well none the less, we will do some checking and see what we come up with on Bruno's. Kathy fowler by the way for any of you who have not called or sent an e-mail to her should do so as well as calling Borgi at K-ville and give them hell. These people are really dumb as a rock but a constant hammering is good for them.
 

Yes, do everything you can to be sure all those you know are registered and ready to vote, this is the critical aspect of the election, and Rivero has a lot of areas locked up but we need lot's of cushion. Knocking on doors, you can get the Rivero for sheriff cards from Frank, and walk door to door on your own streets hand out the cards and capture votes for Rivero. Remember this is something that Mitchell is not going to do, to much chance he gets his face punched in. So he is going to hope that his base works for him, as it always has, well I got news for Mitchell it is not enough votes, and by the Rivero people capturing all those votes who usually just checked the Mitchell box we will have it in the bag. It is getting down to crunch time, and now Mitchell is going to start spending alot of money. He isn't going to go door to door he is hoping his radio and TV spots will do it for him. let's prove him wrong!!

A background investigator obtains a signed waiver from the applicant. This allows the investigator to open and review the applicant's personnel file. A department will not hire someone without a review of his/her personnel file.

As for McMonster, his problem is getting along with lower ranking deputies. Most likely since he was a lieutenant, the investigator only interviewed management. Don't worry, he'll slip into his drunken past and Napa will not put up with that. Mitchell needs to go so that McMonster can never return to LCSO. That is why McMonster is on Mitchell's campaign staff.

There has been times in history it as been shown that leaders are to stand up and point out the wrong and not to do so, miss their reason for being in charge. The system without exposing the wrong in government created the Dinius case. There has been recent information that indicates a possible major issue for K-Ville lumber several people told me yesterday that they are in foreclosure and have been taken over by the bank. That they are trying to keep this information under-wraps and not let the information out to the public. I do not know if this is true or not, but the people who mentioned it seem to be good sources. Anyone knowing anything about this please post information on this site. could be bad Karma for supporting Mitchell, the sad thing is because of bad planning and late building and expansion at the end of the housing boom, Borgi made a critical business error, who this will hurt of course will be the good employees at the store. Again anyone having further information please post.
 

It is amazing question after question is asked of those that support Mitchell, good solid questions of why or what they see in Mitchell to support him. Never do you get an answer from the corruption supporters. Just whinning and crying. I have heard that going to porno sites have many viruses that eat up your files apparently someone in your household has gone there as this site does not cause anything you mentioned.
 

I just checked out that Form 1 it appears you can go to google and download that hacker program, sounds like a criminal thing to do but it would appear to stay in your computer as a new program and will pop up each time you log on to see if you want to hack something. BAD KARMA

By reading this blog, it appears that Sheriff Mitchell has failed to show any true leadership to the troops. It also appears that the Captain of the ship (Mitchell) has failed to set any kind of rules for his troops to follow. Every Agency must have rules that applies to all members equity, regardless of the social standings within the Agency. This same standard must applies to the Citizens of the Community as well. Regardless of their social standings within the Community.
Most people within the Community feels that the Perdock boating accident was covered up, resulting in the wrong man being charged. If your average Citizen would have been driving the boat at 40 to 50 mph. on a totally dark night. That Citizen would have been arrested and booked into jail that night. Sheriff Mitchell failed to get another Agency to investigate it immediately only added to the problem. Mitchell waited days to get help, Mitchell allowed Perdock access to his boat, a very unusual. But Mitchell only has himself to blame for his failings. Sheriff Mitchell should have conducted an I.A. on Perdock immediately, ensuring that no Departmental policies or rules were violated by Perdock.
Mitchell allowed a Lt. to get flight training while on-duty. Everything was wonderful until the hard landing, an then Mitchell said "he didn't know anything about it" then Mitchell said "well I might have known a little about it." Mitchell should have immediately conducted an I.A. on Garzoli ensuring that no Departmental policies or rules were violated.
Lets not forget Capt. Cecil Brown being escorted off Santa Cruz Co. property. It appears that Browns behavior was not acceptable to Santa Cruz.
Capt. Browns behavior reflects on Lake Co.. Sheriff Mitchell should be conducting an I.A. of Browns behavior. Remember that everyone should to treated equal regardless of there social standings.
It is clear to see that Sheriff Mitchell protects his selected GOB at all costs.

Don't be so sure that people are endorsing anyone just because their name is on the "endorsement" list. Could be that the candidate is pulling a Judy Luschinger and using petition "in lieu of " names as endorsements. Call people and ask. You may be surprised at the answer. "I didn't endorse (name of candidate here). All I did was sign a petition so he/she didn't have to pay the filing fee" Signing the "in lieu of " peition is in no way an endorsement. Drove by a home this am that has a vote for Wally sign out front, saw the owner and asked how come they have a Wally sign when their name is on Luschinger's support list. Homeowner said they have asked more then once to have their name removed and she wouldn't so they put up the sign. Ha ha.

I just looked at Mitchell campaign site and boy the BS is neck deep. Citizen Academy: How much does it cost the taxpayer to put it on? I don't think the officers teaching the classes gives up their wages. Just a little more of Mitchell misleading the taxpayer/voters.
 

I have taken that very informative Citizens' class and I would highly recommend it, since you folks want to know how the dept runs, this is your chance to find out, the presentations are very well done, and I think the officer do it on their own time,I might be corrected but I did not see anything that would be costly unless you count the binders with the printed class material and a computer generated certificate of appreciation.
I enjoyed asking questions and I would suggest anyone else that might be interest in the real workings of the Sheirff Dept. enroll there was none listed since I took it as it is not always done every year and Middle twon had it a couple years ago and sometimes it is done north area and sub station.

You’re right 7:17, except that bad ethics are still ethics. So, Rodney covers up the death of an innocent woman. So he funds his henchmen in order to buy their allegiance. So he knowingly makes false accusations. These are ethics of a sort, just not the kind we normally think of when the term “ethics” is used. It’s kind of like when someone uses the term “16 years of promises kept” without specifying to whom those promises were kept.

If I remember correctly when Mitchell first ran for Sheriff, He promised transparency. Well that's a promise he broke. He promised so many things back in 1994. He never promised the voters that he would cover-up a boating accident, but he did done that. Morshed is placed on Admin Leave with an IA right after the report hits the paper.
Rivero is not on Admin Leave, but no IA until four months later and two months before election.
Garzoli is placed on Admin Leave and investigated only after public and BOS outrage.
Perdock is placed on some type of leave, IA only months AFTER the trial.
Brown had to be escorted off Santa Cruz property for harassing Lande.

What a great group of managers ran by a great Sheriff (NOT).

Rivero was served with a IA notice. That notice never contained the accusers name. A few days later it hits this site with the accused name on it. Rivero is upset because the public is now lead to believe he might have sexually battered a prisoner. If Rivero said nothing, management would just state (like Perdock) that it's a "personnel manner" or "we can not comment on an ongoing investigation." Sound familiar?

So put yourself in Rivero's place. The public is told you are being investigated for sexual battery on a prisoner. This is not only a felony, but a civil rights violation. The worse type of offense any law enforcement officer could be accused of. Although the media is told of the offense, you are told not to talk. You did not do this crime and you family is not being hounded for answers. I believe you too would come forward.

This should have waited until after the election. It waited almost four months, what is two more.

When a deputy receives a complaint, the complainer is given a form that warns if he/she files a complaint knowing it to be false, that person can be sued by the accused deputy in addition to criminal charges. Most complainers never read this statement thinking it will never happen. According to POARC (a state organization representing California peace officers) more and more officers are taking those people to court and almost always wins.

Even though in most cases the complainer has little to money, a judgment against that person looks good in the officers history. Who knows, that person may one day win the lotto, get an inheritance or stumble into a good job. A judgment never expires.

I have spoken to Rivero about this. After being cleared, he needs to sue her. Will LCSO file a criminal charge against her? No, Mitchell will never do this since it would most likely make Rivero look like a victim and it would give him good points in the election.

Watch out Rhonda Rully Straub. You tried this before and was found to be a liar, but LCSO did nothing. This time you most likely will be sued and get criminal charges if this complaint is found to be false.

Hopkins can't have the support of Kelseyville Rotary or any other Rotary group. The bylaws of Rotary prohibit any type of political endorsement. He might have the support of a few of the members, but that's individual, not as a group. If he says otherwise, he's lying again. BTW, for what it's worth, most of the members of that club do NOT support his re-election, based on the number of them I've talked with. Oh, I'm sure Borgi and few do, but that's a small number of the total members.

Great letter in the Record Bee this morning from a good citizen.


Having read the recent front page article on candidate Rivero, I feel compelled to write to inform the people of Lake County regarding this man's campaign.

My own experience of Francisco Rivero is as follows: Two years ago I, too was stopped by Officer Rivero as I drove home late at night past the high school. This gentleman was not only an exemplary officer, he was a real human being who knew the truth when he heard it and could make a clear, down to earth, yet compassionate judgment call. As for my being female, he was completely respectful. I have since seen him show up at public events around Middletown and am always pleased to say hello. Now I would call that a successful encounter with the law.

I think Francisco Rivero would make an excellent sheriff. He is a fair man, a good judge of character and a man of much experience. As far as the allegations of Ms. Straub, I wonder why testimony has not been taken by the second officer who was with him during the arrest. I can only assume that Rivero's claim that this allegation is false and a complete fabrication politically motivated, to be the truth.

I urge everyone to vote for a man who is not afraid to speak up for the truth.

I have been reliably informed that the State Bar of California has filed a complaint and is investigating District Attorney Jon Hopkins’ conduct in the Dinius boating case, primarily focusing on his outrageous open letter to the newspapers during jury selection.


Since Mr. Hopkins always says “integrity is my hallmark,” I call on him to immediately make public all letters from the State Bar concerning this investigation.


It’s time we know what Mr. Hopkins knows and when he knew it. After all, Mr. Hopkins is running for district attorney, a public office that requires integrity and transparency.


Although State Bar investigations are considered confidential, Mr. Hopkins can still release this information, since California Business and Professions Code Section 6086.1 specifically says the attorney under investigation may waive confidentiality.


There is no reason Mr. Hopkins could not release these letters and then explain his position, especially since he’s already demonstrated that he loves to write open letters to the papers when it suits him.


Shouldn’t the public be fully informed about this so we can decide whether to vote for a candidate for district attorney who might be suspended or even disbarred from the practice of law? Don’t the voters have a right to know?


How about a little honesty and transparency on this issue? Is that too much to ask for a candidate for District Attorney who runs on a platform of integrity, experience and professionalism?

Wow, the Hopkins web site makes no mention of the Dinius trial (which isn’t a surprise) but it does have this quote which is kind of a jab in the eye:

“Our role as prosecutors is to see that justice is done by not just prosecuting someone because the police or victims or witnesses want that. We need to believe that the evidence supports a conviction beyond a reasonable doubt. “

That’s really tacky. We need to get this scumbag and his buddy Mitchell out!
