Wait a minute now. I thought this site was a group of Rivero supporters. Who is this lovelace group? What is your real agenda? You have your own agenda and want to control law enforcement? To what end?

OK, Marty screwed me over when I was at CPD. He scapegoats people. Baxter, well he seems like a nice old guy to go fishing with.

I agree we need some fair, strong leadership. However I think the cops in this county are a little too smart to be manipulated by some hidden agenda. What exactly is lovelace?
You say your tired of the status quo? OK; what are you planning on replacing it with? Sounds like some control freaks just want all the power.

Sorry, I'm a swing voter and I like Rivero. Ive supported Mitchell. IS lovelace law enforcement officers? Who is lovelace???

Citizens want our leaders to come down off of their pedestals and remember they are supposed to be representing the people. The public is not a bunch of dummies and we want our county back.

First let me say I'm not anti police,sheriff our ruling authority with vested power from the ballot box. The only exception is their malfeasance with their duty. That starts with the board of supervisors,those are the leaders of this government. The others are but player on the stage.With out condemnation from those that lead,they in fact gave you the same service that Mitchell and Hopkins dished out. They are the leaders and set the tone.They hold the purse strings.
 

Regarding my choice for DA I'm voting for Don Anderson. I've had all I can take of the "It's All About Be & My Friends" approach. Don will put in place a strong support staff and spend his time managing the department. He’s a great listener and he’s honest.
 

why would don anderson turn down a law suit that was against the Sheriff
dept? He did that to us; first thing he asks is what deputies,? cuz I know most of them. That's really Bull S>>>> to me. wouldn't even look at it. seems he is definately sided with them...and said he couldn't.

I don't think "who is lovelace" is the issue. Who cares, we agree with purpose of this site, stopping the mitchell and hopkins abuse.

My first reaction is "Conflict of Interest". We live in a small county, he is a lawyer and if he has represented someone in another case he can't take your case. Also, everyone knows everyone in this county and crossing paths in court is bound to happen. I have friends in local law enforcement but that doesn't mean I'm not ready for change in our local government.
 

Mitchell has to go and it's as simple as that. Mitchell has managed his people by politics's and now it has backfired. You can't come up with a good excuse on the Dinius case. You were not only the senior person on the scene but a personal friend of Perdock's. You of all people should have known to get another agency in there fast, not wait three days. Napa had deputies not only living in Lake County, but working just over the mountain. There was no reason to wait three days and call someone over a hundred miles away when Napa had experienced deputies that could have responded. Don't give us that crap about no MOU, you've talked to Napa Sheriff Simpson hundreds of times and you could have called from the scene.

You Michell needs to be replaced.

See SPFD has checks in balances. They tell you by month of how many, what type of discipine charges and outcomes. At the same time they tell you of Officer of the Month, Metal of Honor and other awards. They publicily prase their officers and hide nothing without violating POBR.

Rivero was right, we need change and not a bunch of good old boys.

If Simpson is the Napa officer you must also know that Napa and Lake are connected. I know this for a fact and an office that posted regualarly on Topix with a Napa IP was there the whole Dinius trial behind the madness of Hopkins.
 

To post 10:36 I understand your frustration and considering the fact that Hopkins is finished our choices are either Rhoades or Anderson. Rhoades has family in the SO and like the old saying goes "Blood is thicker than Water". Rhoades ties are a bit to strong for me and I'm hopeful and content that Don Anderson is the right choice.
 

Napa Sheriff Simpson is the sheriff of Napa County. Please provide a date when you saw them together in a NON GOVERNMENT ACTIVITY. You can't. Simpson wrote nothing for Mitchell, if so, please provide a copy or a web address where this so called letter is. You can't.

We had two deputies leave Lake County in the last 10 years to start their career all over again in Napa. McMahon was a lieutenant and filled in for as a Chief. He was most likely the next selection for Captain. He left a good career, high position job to be a beat cop in Napa. Chris Carlile (sp) was a homicide detective for LCSO, very respected and would most likely to had been a sergeant if he stayed. Instead He left to be a beat cop in Napa.

What if all the garbage thrown at me wasn't true? You have asked for my acknowledgement and confession. I cannot ask for understanding for something I didn't do. Rod's supporters and Kip can easily spread rumors anonymously. They are held accountable for what they say. You have chosen to support a candidate who hasn't even had basic POST Supervision training, let alone POST Management School. Their is no connection between running an internment business and running a law enforcement department. He hasn't even been a first line supervisor. He will lead you to ruin. I lost many friends in 1994 do to lies and innuendos perpetrated by the very people you trust. I was the first one, not Rivero, to take on the "good ole' boys." I lost everything I hold dear. My only guilt is my association with CLPD. The facts you seem to believe are false. I do not have the baggage you claim. I am the only one presenting an objective set of managerial principles that is equal for everyone. I find it extremely interesting none of you question the managerial principles. Hasn't Rivero stated a lot of the Sheriff's employees will be packing their bags if he is elected? The same was said when you voted in Rod; different name, same inadequacies. Kip, have you been promised to be reinstated? The truth is not in you. I am amased you will say anything to forward your agenda. It is exactly this kind of emotional decision making that got you in trouble in the first place. No one has contacted me, even you Lovelace, to discuss this election. You contacted Baxter. This is what you all need to think about. Have Mitchell and Hopkins been honest with the citizens of Lake county? Did they try to protect Perdock and blame Mr.Dinius? Have these people been able to lie and cover the lies up because there is a "personnel matter" that allow for corruption? If no then keep them in power. If you believe as I do that they have become dishonest,then get rid of them.

I’ve read the SO is divided and everyone is walking on egg shells. I’d like to hear what plans Rivero & Baxter have to improve the morale within the department if elected. All ranks need to be on the same team to move forward, all the animosity, jealousy, lack of accountability should be coming to an end with the election of a new sheriff, but the morale of the deputies is a huge concern to me. The Citizen’s Oversight” will benefit the public but what about morale from within?
 

First post to Marty, we appreciate your post on the site, and in fact we did communicate with you on the blog when we put forth a set of questions which you did kindly answer for the citizens. The main comment and feeling we had following you responses was that, it appeared you were doing a lot of finger pointing, and it was on nearly every situation or questionable situation that we asked you about. Therefore it was put forth that we felt that some of those situations must have had some connection to your own actions. We said further that all of those incidences and even if we only talk about the ones you agreed happened and gave overview on where everyone else's doing then that would be quite unusual. We felt that was a fair conclusion to come to. We do not mean to malign in any way, we try to speak our thoughts and ideas on the site and that is what they were. We also felt that on the radio show both you and Baxter were placating Mitchell for some reason, this we cannot stand for. Mitchell is not a nice man, he is not a decent man, he has hurt many people, he has conducted himself in a manner that should afford no reconciliation in any manner what so ever. What we heard on the radio show, was not the signs we wanted to see, you play games with Mitchell and be nice in any manner and he will put a knife in your back right when you least expect it. There can be no trust of this man, period. Rivero attacks Mitchell every opportunity he gets, and well he should. Do we have to remind people of Mitchells comments Illegal by the way, when it was indicated Kip was going to run for sheriff, and the reply from Mitchell was "I will destroy you if you run aganist me", do we have to remind people of the comments 4 years ago when Perdock was going to run for sheriff, and Mitchell said the same thing to him. By the way these incidents will be brought to bear on Mitchell and we have specific plans for this. Marty, what the citizens are looking for is a hard hitting get in your face individual, who will step up to the plate. Rivero will have to clean house when he gets in, both you and Baxter seem to think there are not corrupt cops in the SO, of course there will have to be a house cleaning. This is standard practice when a new man as leader comes into an organization. You nor anyone else should question the qualifications of Rivero, Baxters qualifications are not being questioned, with the exception of the fact that he does not have clue about the environment in our county now, nor who the players are or the corrupt ones. You have a better grasp of that then he. We have posted clearly our reasons for selecting Rivero on the ballot. We believe if you truly want these changes to take place and you truly care for the people, then you should throw your efforts behind Rivero, and take up the charge to rid this county of its corruption. In closing we do not think you are a bad person in any way. We simply believe that Rivero holds the greater number of our ideals and concepts in his heart and truly believes in them. We do wish you well and we hope that if in the next month or so it does not look like your chances are good, you will join us and be a greater part of the change that must happend in our county. Looking at a couple of posts there was a couple of mentions concerning spelling and grammer etec. We have said this many times we are not concerned with such trival matters in a forum such as this, when we are drafting an important document etc. we use the proper spelling and sentence structure all those boring things, we send at times 40 e-mails and comment posts a day, and do not concern ourselves with such matters. We also do not disparage those who have spelling errors etc. We are interested in the message not the manner it is delivered. Period, the only thing the Lovelace group brings up is the post that you simply cannot make any sense out of. Sometimes your read it and it just does not make a bit of sense. Other then that we are not nor will we be spelling and sentence police on the blog. Hope that works with everyone.
 

TMZ Listen you really need to go find something else to do, your offer no value to the site, whatever you position is, and only seem bent on ragging on Lovelace or whining about one thing or another, if you want to post substance, on your position or the individual you are supporting, or the removal of Mitchell and Hopkins that is great but you become quite boring quite quickly, and frankly we and the citizens don't have a lot of time for such nonsense. You see those sentence errors and spelling errors Lovelace does it all the time, we are whipping out messages and comments in huge volumes inbetween this post we will send off a couple of e-mails as well, so no ragging on the spelling and grammer, everyone is free to post without worrying about such things.

As they walked by the display board that shows the pictures of local men and women in the military (who are) currently serving overseas, Rob Brown pointed to the display and said, "Somebody really ought to get rid of that thing, it covers the pictures of the supervisors."

Pat McMahon leaving was a very good thing - he was an assh**e to the tenth degree, he got to take classes at the local college while on duty to finish his degree so that he would qualify for the position of Lt., however the joke was on Mitchell cause after the butt wipe got his degree he left for the higher pay of Napa. I say good riddence, too bad he had to suck off the teat of Lake County society before he cut loose....
 

I just reread Marty's post, It read to me like he lost the race and it was Lovelace's fault, I didn't care for the comment about how we will deserve what we get. What is that supposed to mean? Sounds like a sore looser to me.

To the two posts we removed, we know what you are trying to do, it does not work. The people here know what the Lovelace group does and they know exactly the things we have accomplished. To throw stones because you want to present a negative name calling presentation to the forum is neither useful nor productive, we do not care to tout our accomplishments over and over, we and the citizens have accomplished quite a bit in the past few months and there is much to come. Instead of telling us what we are not, why don't you try showing you understand what we have done and what we are trying to do. We have passed both the Record Bee and Lake Co news in hits and numbers across the board. Ask why neither of those papers has posted a thing on the Morshed incident. Ask why the Record Bee choose to run that terrible picture of Rushing and Mitchell taking credit for the battered womens building of which neither one of them had a thing to do with it, ask us about our attacks on the BOS, ask us about Judge Martin and Mann now under investigation. Ask us about getting the disability sentencing changed. Ask us about our efforts to expose Mitchells corruption and those under his watch. We have pissed a lot of people off and we will continue to do so. We will not stand for a lack of transparency in this county any further, and oh by the way we have outside agencies looking into several matters. Get off our ass with your bullshit posts and let the people on this blog tell you that already great changes have taken place in this county, the BOS and the SO are all watching their steps very carefully, how dare you hammer us when we have put this much time and effort into this cause, who in the past has made this attempt, who in the past has caused such change in this county. You? what have you done. We are on the road to giving this county back to the citizens and we do it at risk, if you do not understand that risk then shame on you. Marty, this is a team effort and if you are in it for fame or fortune perhaps that is the wrong approach. This isn't a homecoming queen contest or a homecoming king contest. Some of the best leaders, as you must know, lead the herd from the center. There is time to tuck the child in at night, and arrange the covers and turn out the light and for that no credit is due or expected. It is done because it is the right thing to do. Secure the homefront.

Stand at the doorway and pause for a brief moment and count your blessings that the future is yet to come and our children are our biggest natural resource.

If you are truly interested in the betterment of your home (and the world) notority is not the goal. It's called an unsung hero, and in this venue as shocking as this news may be to some, perhaps the unsung shero.

I haven't asked nor would I since I RETIRED after 30 years as a cop. All of those years were in a POST certified department? How many total years do you have working in a POST certified department?

Apparently your investigative skills are still as bad as they were when you were at CPD.

Anyone know anything about a pharmacy robbery on Saturday? The per got away with 3 bottles of oxycodene. I just read it in the online version of the PD. I didn't see anything in LCN and of course the RB doesn't work over the weekend.

I just heard today from a neighbor that Flynn who works at animal control wrote up him and many othersup on false(harassing) charges against them regarding their horses because there feet were standing in water. Please advise what has happened with this Flynn lady, whose mother is director of animal control; has Flynn been fired??
I wonder how many complaints have been filed against Flynn for false reporting of cruelty to animals. If you could post the info so I can pass it on to this person. He has heard there was a scandal about her going on although he himself has no computer.

Poster:n This Dr. Freeman connection. This "doc" is still in business and the CHP AND the LCSO work hand in hand in hand. So, you see, the corruption has it's supporters still sanctioning and writing presecriptions to the Good Old Boys for various things that are NOT legal.
You know some pain pills sell on the street for a great deal of cash, so please think about doing business with anyone in this capacity who is willing to comprimise the system. Dr. Freeman is a founding "father" of the Gemini group and it is well known. HIPPA laws to DO NOT pertain to him in the least bit and any information he gives out is illegal and since he also is at Redbud and a friend of the current regime he can and will be called on when needed. It is for fun and acceptance, not necessarily for profit and EVERYONE in the Gemini knows this.
 

Yeah, funny that a poster says "get over it" for Dr. Fremman when the truth is it was during Mitchell's "time" that the corrupt CHP did this and "others" looked away and laughed at the contractors who objectd. Get over it? How do you think this STARTS? Cancer in the community HAS a root cause and the doc is guilty as sin. EVERYONE knows it, but is supposed to look the other way.
 

Post 9:30pm. Even though I don't really know what this has to do with the price of tea in China, I applied for CPD in 1996 (I think). I took the oral interview and did not do any other testing after that. As I recall I past the oral. I remember Ron Larsen was on the panel.

As for backing Marty McCarty, never happened. Mitchell had come to me and asked for my support. At the time I was the president of the association. Mitchell did not have the support of the correctional officers and knew he could not get the association to back him without the correctional officers.
I told him I would support him if he could promise me that if he became sheriff, there would be an even playing field for all employees. He promised me it would be as requested. I backed Mitchell and got him the support of the DSA, the Redwood Chapter of PORAC and also the endorsement of PORAC at the state level. It was NOT my finest hour, but we all make mistakes.

Unfortunately the county has suffered for what we/I (the association) thought was a good choice at the time. I appologize to the people of Lake County for not being able to see though his B.S. I am hoping we will correct the problem in June and will not have to wait until November to vote Mitchell out of office.

Finally post 9:30pm, I am not the issue here. If you have a bone to pick with me, look me up when I am back in county and discuss it with me, face to face. I am not the issue even though a few of you try to divert attention towards me for whatever reason. I am sure I will not hear from you. You like hiding behind the "anonymous" postings.

Your claim of Redbud is without facts. Any administrator who openly spoke about this but took no actions would loose his license. Contact the California Licensing Board. But you just don't want to tell the truth and can not provide any proof. If so, type it here and I will forward it to the Department of Consumers Affair investigation unit.

Look at http://lakesheriff.com/boat_case%20files/06040456.pdf and you will find that Beland was instructed at 2255 hours to take Perdock to the hospital. At 2329 hours they arrived at the hospital. That is more than three minutes. You need to learn how to count. I have reviewed this case hundreds of times. There is no evidence provided by LCSO or Dinius that proved Perdock had sample to his blood, just a suspicion.

Kip was elected President more than any other president in LCSO history. If he is so hated, then why was he elected so many time? because you don't know squat.

Dinius's claim was rejected by the BOS Tuesday. Now comes the civil rights suit that's going to cost us the taxpayers tons of money. I believe that Perdock, Mitchell, and Hopkins should be paying for this one. Both Hopkins and Mitchell tried to protect Perdock. One more reason the vote Rivero for Sheriff.

The Dinius claim now goes forward to a federal trials, as Dinius's lawyer has stated this will be a long slow process, as they overcome the various roadblocks the system has set up to cover bad cops, making bad decisions and in this case killing a women. But hey Perdock has the old cleaning business, so everything is good. The final termination of Perdock will now take place. As we have said over and over you will never see either one of these guys in a uniform again.

The above comment illustrates perfectly the commen at 10:47. The sailboat was not "parked" and was in fact underway according to their expert witness and the boating law. Whether you agree or not, there is a legal theory for the prosecution. And no matter how you slice it, the DA is the one responsible for charging criminal cases. The report prepared by the SO recognized violations on both sides.
 

As normal with all Lake County Departments, the Animal Control issue involving Flynn is apparently "completed" and nothing is going to happen. But what do you expect when they wait two weeks to bring in an outside investigator? The horses were all taken care of by that time and had been gaining weight so there was really nothing the investigator could do. Gotta love the way the County protects its own.....

The next Sheriff of Lake co. must be a person of the highest integrity. A person with a level head. A person with insight into how to lead the Sheriff Department out of the mess Mitchell has created. That person must have some backbone to stand up for what's right, regardless of what others may think or say. The corruption and mistreatment of all within the Department must stop the day Mitchell packs his bags and goes bye, bye. The next Sheriff must also build trust with the citizens of Lake Co. Any failure to do so will equal another four years of the Mitchell Admin. The general public has money invested into each and every Deputy, Correctional Officer or other employee within the Department, We don't need four more years of someone like Mitchell regardless of there name.

Mitchell did lie to the voters in 1994 about being a full time Deputy in Sacramento Co, Sheriff Dept. Mitchell continues to lie to the voters, taxpayers, and to the BOS. The BOS is afraid of Mitchell or the EEOC report would be released to the Public.

During the election we are going to make the members of the DSA look real bad, they do a great job of it themselves. Thank God they didn't not endorse Rivero, we would have seen that as a negative. The DSA is an ineffective, no issue group, there endorsement means nothing to the vote count. Oh ya G we had that message two, it is a google glitch, has happened a few time to us today, generally we re-boot our computer and it goes away, don't know why it does that. We called google and they told us it is usually a stall out in a persons internet connection mid stream of posting. We do get that at times in lake county, if it keeps happening, let us know and we will look into it further, we can't loose you off the site!!!
 

Oh ya, we like to delete the one Mitchell supporter who just posts the same thing over and over, so we delete him a bunch of times, he gets mad and keeps posting it up, we eventually let him keep his little post up, as it never has any merit anyway, and on one really reads it. We think his broken record is stuck on Kip Ringen right now. So everyone as usual just by pass his post, but it keeps him happy.

Another way lovelace misleads is by pointing out the lack of posts supporting Mitchell and the good people at the Sheriff's Department, failing to mention the large number of posts that are intentionally removed. Haven't you figured out lovelace, that I save everything.

Rivero got the issues of Lake County LCSO on CNN.m Mitchell's poster in his office was ENOUGH for me to see that Mitchell was a racist. I know first hand that he is an incredible crook who feels NO REMORSE for falsifying information and his personal life is NOT unsullied as the oath he took requires. Mitchell is a goner. The sooner the better. He should be run out of the county amd he should hang his head in utter shame. What a total loser.
 

The point we have made concerning Baxter is a simple one, of course he is not going to let Mitchell run him off to much credit is given to Mitchell for being some kind of strong arm guy. He is weak, always has been, he just happened to get control of a county many years ago that was in dire straights, on a scale of one to ten as far as sharpness, skillsets, people skills etc Mitchell is a 2. That's all there is to that. What we are telling Baxter is if you placate him in any way he will put a knife in your back so fast it will make your head spin. What we have been telling Baxter is don't talk in any way kindly of Mitchell, the citizens do not like that. It tells them you don't have a great enough understanding of what we have been through in the past in this county.

I talked toBaxter on the phone and never got the feeling he's weak or wishy washy in his opinions. He admitted he has had his eyes opened in a lot of ways concerning the sheriff. He doesn't like what he sees and hears which is why he's runnibng for the office. I don't think he needs a job and I dont think he's out to pay anyone debts. I think he means what he says and he's open enough to listen to what we have to say.
 

I dont think you have to treat mitchell or anyone else like an asshole even if he is one. There are people who can show respectfulness even to people they don't respect without being two faced like the sheriff.

No one, likes to be treated like they are nothing or mean nothing. And no one likes being talked down to. Mitchell, lost my vote as soon as he totally ignored those at Kelseyville trying to find out answers to some of their questions. He walked on by, head between his legs and with no shame. Here's an interesting point which you will hear no canidate but Rivero say, he can say this because he has lived in the corruption, and he has told us this many times. If Baxter or any other canidate wins except Mitchell he is just fine with that. When Baxter and Marty entered the race, the first thing Rivero said was great, let's see who these folks are, if one of them has a better chance of beating Mitchell I will throw my support and votes in their direction. This is how convinced he is of the need for change and the removal of Mitchell and Hopkins. That my friends is a quality individual, you can throw stones in an election all you want, but the good news is we have 2 people running aganist Mitchell, and Mitchell and Hopkins are on the way out.
 

Personally not sure about Baxter. Its been in my opinion and observation that those who get up there in age and more unlikely to change! They are pretty set in ways and resist change. I will have to listen to Baxter a bit more before I cast my vote but definetly, Mitchell is out!
 

Here is an interesting point concerning the BOS meeting today and the presentation from the DA. First of all it was a presentation from the "DA investigators" What they are saying is the Sheriffs office is so corrupt and the DSA is so corrupt that we want to be considered a seperate entity from those people we do not want to be associated with them. Now they cannot come out and say that so they use the idea of needing to be thought of as unbias in their cases. Its a little word game but if you read between the lines that is what they are saying. Now remember the DA investigators are peace officers by state law, so PORAC etc comes into play here as they are attached to that via their Peace Officer status. Therefore it is something that has to be requested to the board and different circumstances would have to be set up for their request to be carried out. All in all it is the DA investigators not wanting to be seen as attached to the Sheriffs Office and Mitchell.
 

Its a good point 641, and we have those thoughts as well, citizens oversight, and a host of "new" and differnt approaches must be a part of the new sheriffs plan. We cannot be stuck in paradigms any further major change is the order of the day, and transparency is the key to that outcome.

What makes anyone think Hopkins will trust his investigators to do anything their own? Hopkins won't let the Grand Jury do their job without his permission either. When they leave Hopkins control they will still be part of PORAC. Did I just see where the DSA is in support of Mitchell? You do the math.

LoveLace have you given it any thoughts as to the huge chunk of monies that Denius is costing/or will cost Lake County, and yet You back that, like shooting yourself in the foot and supplying the gun and bullet. He is wasting Tax payer time and money.
 

Mitchell was responsible for the crime scene at the Dinius case. He was the highest ranking person on scene, he was on duty and instead of consulting with the sergeant's, he interacted with one of the primary subjects in the case. Mitchell has a cellphone and could have called Napa Sheriff Simpson for assistance, but instead he waited 3 days to call someone all the way from Sacramento. Napa had several deputies residing in Lake County who could have been called to respond.

Mitchell or any manager did not review the DEA grant. If they did, they would have read the request for a pilot instructor and Garzoli's plans to get a license. Capt. Howe also allowed children to ride on that helicopter without a release form (LCSO dosn't have one). Garzoli was present in almost all staff meetings. Several times he would show up wearing the grant paid flight suit with "PILOT" on it. There is several examples that would have given rise to stop Garzoli.

Mitchell knew about Wright. In the past there had been several reports so sensitive that Mitchell directed those reports be locked out to all employees except investigators. Martin also knew of this but did not lock the report. After Wright was found in possession of stolen property, a felony, no supervisor would arrest Wright.
 

Dinius was wrongly charged! Yes, he drank and used poor judgment leaving the dock but he didn’t cause the accident, Perdock did. Those facts will never change and I for one support his right to recovers his loses. Whatever it costs Lake County years down the road Lake County must be held accountable and we have Mitchell & Hopkins to thank.
