Post 8:57: Might I ask who did the investigation? Who turned it over to the DAs office. Could not Mitchell have looked at this mess and saw how full of holes it had as the jury did. With three years that it took to get to court,not one thought that something was wrong? No!! the arrogance of no one in the sheriff department or Hopkins office to state what some of us see as the miss use of the system to protect one of their own. Mitchell could at anytime said to Hopkins there is trouble and we need to look as this Dinius case again.He did not and he is up to his eyeballs.

Lets see, In 2008, Morshed told a DA Investigator that in 2006, he was in charge of the scene and he ordered Beland not to give a PAS to Pedock and Beland was upset over it. Ostini and Mitchell were on scene, but still no PAS done on Perdock. Three years later Morshed testified in the trail that it was more of a conversation. That's not what he told the DA's Office and then he lied about the PAS calibrations. Still no action taken on Morshed, but Beland was canned. Sounds real fishy to me.

This was not a secret, almost every segeant at LCSO knew Beland was pissed and he knew how Perdock was revengeful. Looks like that's true or Morshed would have been fired too.

Mitchell IS responsible for corruption and any other issues within his department. He is the sheriff, the head man, the boss and with him the buck must stop. He has shown himself to be a lier who is quick to blame everyone and anyone but himself. He has no problem allowing his men to take the fall for him. He has driven this department in to the ground to a point where people don't trust their own cops. That is not fair to us or to the good cops oin his office.
 

How interesting, LOVELACE doesn't have a clue what's happening yet here we are reading every word. Perhaps they have more of a cluethen we think and I salute them for speaking out. Where theres smoke theres fire and there seems to be a big blaze in the sheriffs office where he has everyone running scared, afraid to disagree or not stand behind him for fear of retaliation. He's proven that over and over.

If you connected the dots to each employee who has had affairs, and who has "done" whom.. you would figure out that all of the employee's have already screwed each other, one way or another! I read the two posts and whoever wrote it hit the nail on the head. There are not any comments from the Mitchell or Perdock crowd. As it said it just is not going to go away. But the voices will get louder. Whoever you are keep posting to wake up those in charge so they might start to listen.

I personally know Rivero, he has been to my home. (No! Not on Duty!) And have been around him enough to know that he is not "Angry or vengeful" He, along with the rest of us who have had the horrific ecperience to see behind the scenes of what goes on at the LCSO, want nothing more than a change for the better. To clean up this mess that will be Mitchell's Legacy. To get rid of the Corrupt LEO's and make a better work enviorment for the Hard Working Hohnest LEO's.

All these "scandals" that have been revealed, that Mitchell claims he had no previous knowledge of. He has not a clue at to what his boys are up too. Its been a free for all.. So.. Like Mitchell, Hopkins has shot himself in the foot once again. He came off making excuses, angry and firing back at his callers. From what I've heard I would vote for him period. Based on his radio interview I feel he did nothing to restore confidence in our DA's office or the competance of the DA himself. I don't believe what he says just as I can't believe a word Mitchell says. Both are to sleezy for my liking and I'm very disappointed in the entiore law enforcement community in our county. We deserve better then this.
 

We need someone else to jump into the D.A. race. against Rhodes, Anderson, and Hopkins. Someone that will clean up the D.A's office after Hopkins four years. Rhodes and Anderson don't have the back bone to. We don't any more Good old boys.

Lake county is famous for making a victim in to a criminal. I am happy that did not work in the dimus case. I want to know why perdock was not cited for excessive speed, in a unsafe condition, and manslaughter. Pitch black, no moon, and he is the one who hit the stationary boat and killed the retired officer. I can't believe they prosecuted dimus for that, what a joke. It's a miracle the jury saw through the corruption. Lake county may be too far gone for decent folks to clean it up.

Sheriff Mitchell legacy will be remembered as the WORST Sheriff in Lake County history. The Sheriff that costed the tax payers of Lake Co. tons of money. The Sheriff that nobody trusted, believed in. His lack of leadership will be compared to that of George W. Bush.

I have the utmost respect for law enforecment. You can not stop the action against you,how funny. I was asked to be a law enforcement officer, my self, i turned them down, and that was in san jose, CA, where they have a huge reputation.

We were stunned by a couple of this dumb asses comments, we will post about those within the hour, and we are going to give an update on a huge situation we have found out about, it makes our last exposure of the Morshed situation seem quite small indeed. We will give an overview on that within the hour. Ya the dogs are out sniffing around concerning our activities, but the fact of the matter is we are in the clear legally and in the clear with every action and investigation we have undertaken, We know a group is out there trying to figure out exactly what the hell is going on and why we are the only reporting site hitting them hard and heavy, and that will continue. We are going to put our post together here(where?) you know here where we are, (sorry can't let you know that) but stand by for our post in a bit. Great posts tonight, loved the hammering hoppy took tonight, as a quick note loved Hopkins saying I didn't take the Dinus case except the last two weeks, wow what a cop out. Mitchell, Perdock and Hopkins should ALL get jail sentences. The sorry thing about that proposition IS that once more the taxpayers would be payng for their existence.
Mitchell KNOWS what is going on in his "department" and the more unbelievable the offense the more difficult to believe, so he is brazen and cocky about his "conquests".
We have become the icon of the Corrupt Capital of the Country.
If we can clean up this mess it WILL take an act of God, but then maybe THAT is why this forum was created. There are some Go(o)d and God centered people left in the world and they do care enough to spend their lives for the betterment of us all. Working as an individual we can control what we all do and when the support system of the Mitchell Mob is gone so will they be gone.
Lynn's Thornton's death and subsequent world wide attention was a wake up call to action. Let Lynn's legacy be that we all create a better world for all.
The "people of the lie", like Mitchell, will cease to have a hold anywhere. Crisis brings opportunity to look for better ways of living with each other. Had Perdock, or any of the officers who covered for him had one bit of remorse for this senseless death NONE of this would have happened. It is as if the entire LSCO had a psychotic break and gang raped our county's law abiding citizenry.
The law abiding citizens were treated like rubes and the corrupt of the LE acted as if they were running a police state. Surely that is the demise of ANY civilization, and we must stop it in its infancy lest it takes hold. Keep up the good work Lovelace. Thanks for everything you have done.

Cuz I am sick and tierd of hearing the same ole bullshit come from these liars. I will continue in my efforts seeing to their removal and will not concern myself with their games. Looks like there were a few anti Lake county it will never change posts. Oh it can change, it has in 100's of cities and counties. This corruption is everywhere, Lake County is behind the times now, it has to evolve or you are right it would stay the same. And...Yes, Lovelace, it is as simple as that, and with the available tracking mechanisms that is available with our present technology most unevolved people, like the Mitchell mob, who are dysfuntctional gang members can not only be tracked but put to work paying restitution for the wrongs committed.

In the long run even the people who are involved willingly or unwillingly in the corruption might even sigh a bit of relief. Their covert illegal activities once exposed will cease because they have nowhere to hide.

I truly thank you Lovelace.There is no other paper on or off line that it trying to get to the truth. I state again from the BOS to the grand jury,sheriff department that by their actions found excuses why employees were allowed to lie and cover the lie up. Thanks again.
 

Mitchell is aware of court testimony where Ostini was question by Mr. Haltom, as to who was present the following morning after the crash at the Kelseyville Sheriffs Barn. Sgt.Ostini named some officers and but not Perdock and his friend that he brought to inspect both boats. Yes Ostini allowed access and never filed a report on it either, I would guess because it wasn't suppose to be found out. Ostini claimed he forgot to make a report, yet there is no internal agency investigation on Ostini. Poor performance in doing your job by forgeting to file a report and forgeting boating laws tells me we have an officer who should be removed.
 

D.A. Hopkins and Sheriff Mitchell should both start running after the election. The a new D.A. and a new Sheriff will take office. They both should start by asking for a Federal Grand Jury investigation into the Mitchell/Hopkins Admin. This will be the first step in restoring the trust between the citizens of Lake Co. and Law Enforcement. This investigation should also include former D.A. Gary Luck years and his part in the Dinius case. We cannot close our eyes to all the illegal things that has happened under the Mitchell, Luck and Hopkins Admin. Every officer involved shooting should be reviewed, any and all investigation that Perdock or Mitchell was involved in should also be reviewed. It appears We have several cover ups by Law Enforcement in Lake Co.

The failure of the BOS to control the waste of our tax dollars by Luck, Hopkins and Mitchell is something that each and everyone of them will have to answer for when they run for reelection. So Ms. Rushing start preparing now, Mr. Brown should also do the same. The BOS only controls the money, that belongs to us the tax payers.
 

Why did Hopkins take over the prosecution of Dinius? Sure would like to hear what John Langen had to say about that.
 

I think it was to protect former D.A. Luck and Perdock. If he would have stopped the prosecution of Dinius it would have shown Lucks incompetence and he needed to protect his former Boss and the good old boys system.

A person is killed and the only person they could hang that hat on was the person at the teller of the sailboat. By Hopkins,Mr. Binius was was a drunk sailor and he had no lights on. I echo above, Hopkins stated the only reason those that dissented from his view were after Perdock because he was a officer in the sheriffs department. The guy is unreal.What we do know in a person is dead,Perdock hit the sailboat and they tried to blame someone else for her death. Then said he would do the same again about this case. Observers on shore saw Perdock speeding across the lake full tilt and commented that "he" was going to kill someone. Those people did not KNOW that the boat in question was being operated by an "officer of the law" OR that he was second in command. They just heard and saw an accident about to happen and commented on it. How Hopkins can brazenly say he would do the same with this case just shows either his denial that he is a "bad guy" or he has a vested interest in protecting Perdock. Any second grader could tell you WHO the bad guys are. It isn't rocket science, but CLEARLY Hopkins, Mitchell and Perdock don't have any common sense other than they have gotten away with their insanity for so long they now believe they are as right as Hitler. Perhaps they have "normalized" anarchy since they are the ones with "the bullets and the badges". History is written by the victorious and with the Lovelace group up in arms the Mitchell Mob will go DOWN in history.

This seems to be a reoccurring theme. The questions raised by the investigation are going to tell the "story"? I'm no investigator, but should a good investigator get answers to the questions (i believe these are called facts), and then the FACTS will tell the story? These "investigations" often seem to be lacking facts. Lots of inuendo, but not facts. Give us some substance.
 

Many of us work and are very busy. We don't have time to "wade" through all the dribble. The unproven nonsense far out weighs the proven facts on this site. I want to make the right decision when I vote, but will not base my choice on comments posted by what (for the most part) seem to be made by people with a personal ax to grind. Is the DSA going to come out in support of a candidate? It would be very helpful if they did.
 

Why do you think people would even have an "ax to grind"? The DSA is basicly 12 or 15 people who show up for meetings. They do not represent the total number of their rank and file membership, which is around 65. At this point those on Ex. board of DSA are calling the shots and the public is calling that group corrupt/Mitchell brown-nosers. So IMHO an endorsement by the DSA would equate to shooting one's self in the foot. Regardless of who I want for sheriff, if that person was endorsed by the DSA they would lose my vote and those of my family & friends.

I would be very surprised if the DSA came out and endorsed anyone but Mitchell based on his past history of intimidation and vendictivness toward his employees. If Mitchell should be reelected god forbid and the DSA didn't support him he would make their lives and job of being a labor organization impossible.

Mitchell is on his way out but we'll see if the DSA has the nerve to stand up and support someone else. This will be a test of their own character which will demonstrate their desire for positive change.

Mitchell may intimidate the DSA politically but he can't stand in the ballot box with the individuals to influence their votes.

The "axe to grind" excuse is really getting moldy...it's all those in our government can come up with whenever they are confronted by a question they can't (or won't) answer. This is from the BOS/Sheriff/DA on down. Instead of trying to discount the person asking the question, or the reason for the question, they should be trying to understand why the problem exists in the first place. I guarantee that not every citizen with tough questions has a personal vendetta. It's just that they can't give an answer that makes themselves look good, so they resort to trying to make the questioning person look bad. Typical behavior for those with low self-esteem...and do we really want those types of people running our government?

Rob Brown is my supervisor, darn. I've called on him twice for assistance and both times he was a big disappointment. I don't know all the details regarding the pot on his property but I've always wondered why someone would plant pot on someone else’s property in close proximity to a major road and not bother to verify who owns it, when we have thousands and thousands of acres of forest land. New police cars: Every two years LCSO purchases several new cars to replace the old ones. Marked police cars have an ending life of 120,000 miles (but it's not unusual to have even higher mileage). Each month money is placed aside for vehicle replacement based on its mileage. The new vehicles are placed at the office while the old ones are stripped down. Almost all of the old equipment is than transferred to the new cars. Once that is done, the old cars are parked in front of the office to be used as spares or sold off to an auction company.
 

I just listened to that MP3 Audio Link, down and to the left of this Page where Garzoli called into a Radio Station, looking for ideas on a Career Change! That is Frickin Hysterical! Lovelace, thats a good one! Do you know he didnt just play in Helicopters on Company time.... he and his boys have been into Dirt Bike Racing for years, and what fun to play in the Moutains on your Dirt Bike on the County dime while "looking" for Green Bud. The only thing green he was looking for was more $$$ on his Paycheck!
 

Thanks for the information Rodney. Why are you moving old and outdated emergency equipment to a new car? Why does it take so long to make the equipment exchange and get these new cars in service? Are these high mileage cars, 120K plus dangerous and expensive to operate?

Yes that is what Rivero wants, but why didn't you state the entire story or does the truth hurts that much.
Rivero plans on a citizen's review board based on retired professional persons such as detectives, DA investigator etc.. It is based on a 900 hour position just like several other jobs throughout LCSO such as Court security, boats, bailiffs and Backgrounds. This does not take away from the full time peace office positions. There are a lot of those types of persons who do not want to be in the current 900 positions but will do specialized jobs just like Fry and Hoffman.

Lets face it, you are just scarred that Rivero is going to find out how much GOB practice there is at LCSO and put a stop to it.

Mitchell has used the 900 hour position numerous times before. School Resouce Deputy, Welfare Investigators and some admin jobs. As we see with Baxter, there is a lot of former qualified non LCSO cops. Two retired CHP managers, a retired Napa PD and SO manager, a soon to be retired Alameda SO manager, SFPD sergeant and others. A great deal of good qualified persons.

This is Lovelace, lets answer a couple of questions first of all Rob Brown is not going to run again for the supervisor, this of course is excellent, the problem becomes he is now more then ever not giving a crap about his actions nor how he treats the citizens and the problems that plague the county. This means we have to keep a very close eye on him.

As far as the budget and the citizens review board, no the county is not short on officers currently they have to many, when you take into consideration the Sheriff, the LPPd. the CHP, and the clearlake PD, and you count the numbers of officers vs the population base, you will find that on average Lake County has more officers then the average county or city in this state. The citizens review board is an excellent idea, and any canidate that is running has to accept this demand of the citizens, Rivero is well versed in these boards and has studied them extensively he understands their importance and the great contribution they serve in those communities that have employed this practice, currently there is a citizens review in every major city in this country, thats right every major city. Lake County is as usual behind the times on this one. The implementation of this process is funded by the BOS which they will do, as they will not have a choice, even if the likes of a Brown or others don't want to. That should clarify that question.

Yes on the Garzoli tape if you have not heard that post of which there is a link under the big red button then do so, it is a laugh, and the talk show host eats Garzoli up.

Also remember we are working on documentation concerning the hunting trips the bad boys Davidson, Frace, Dutra, Ski would take, thats what they called them but what was really happening is they would get data from the likes of a Garzoli or others, and know where legal grows were under 215 then they would hit those spots rough up the people take their money and pot, and well you know how it goes from there. We have been told that there are some pictures we are going to get that actually show these dumb asses with big smiles on there face as they stand over the plants. Illegal, no search warrants the whole nine yards, oh ya we got a lot coming down the pipeline, a lot!!
 

Now you want to talk about money lets talk about the grant money wasted away on the likes of Dutra, and the other drug task force boys, we hammered away at the overtime money, using these grants and doing nothing and accomplishing nothing, oh ya, we are working on that one two. We are going to askt he BOS for an accounting of this Overtime money when where and how it was spent, we bet they don't have a clue. Great oversight huh?
 

Police cars: Yes most other agencies take their marked cars out of service between 65 and 95k miles to get a better resale value. LCSO cars are kept in better shape than most due to the Take Home Program so the mileage is extended. Equipment is reused to save money, light bars are refurbished or replaced if to old.

Grant money, misuse of overtime, failure to share the overtime with everyone just scratching the surface of the sheriffs dirty dealings. What about his captains and Lieutents, won't anyone stand up for whats right?
 

Thank you post 8:47 the dirty dealings as described by post 850 must and will stop, all we be held accountable, all it takes is the citizens and a platform to demonstrate our anger, our concerns, and remember there are many in this county who do not have clue what has been happening, there are those that if you mentioned the name Dinius they would not have a clue what you were talking about, we are working on plans to touch all of these people to make sure people know, to make sure the truth is out there and that transparency is the watch word of the day. We must attack the DSA, attack the BOS, attack Mitchell, attack Hopkins, at every step and every decision. These people have gotten use to business as usual, and those that are left will have to be re-programmed to understand what the citizens role, is, we will dictate what you do and how you do it. You will make your decisions on what we say, and how we want, you will purchase what we tell you to purchase, you will do our bidding, not yours. The local news sources will feel our wrath, they will see what true reporting is, they will see how citizen advocates operate, and we will post the truth, we are not concerned about realtionships, isn't that right Mr. Brown, who do you communicate with in the Media, we know, and soon you will know that we know. We know who Farrington runs to, we know the people the feed Rushing her heady crap that makes her feel like a god. We know she talks out of both sides of her mouth, we know she hasn't done a damn thing even for the inequities aganist those of her own kind. Are you kidding? Any sergeant who does just a little bit of OT makes more money than a lieutenant. A lieutenant position is "salary based" (NO OT) and just a power position. Why do you think Garzoli had no problem going back to sergeant and Mitchell gave him all of his seniority. If you demote or are demoted, than your seniority should be ZERO!

I just listened to the MP3 with Garzolio talking to KGO. What a schmuck. Like some civilian contractor operating in a war zone would even consider hiring someone like him. He'll be lucky to get a job as a night watchman or security guard.

Rodney you have less to offer. Experience, Garzoli had some experience crashing a helicopter, Mitchell, you crashed the entire sheriffs office. Shame on you.
 

Is Rodney going to fire Purdock and Garzoli or is he hoping we'll all die of old age so he won't have to.

Wake up big Rod, the people of Lake County are not as stupid as you think and its time you started taking us seriously. If you expect to win the upcoming election you need to go to the cemetry to solicit votes which wouldn't be a surprise to any of us.
 

What amazes me is that Mitchell let Garzoli fall on his sword and take the rap for him yet Garzoli continues to kiss his ass. What does he hope to get out of this, a job mowing Mitchell's lawn?

You can bet your money on a couple of things, Perdock and Garzoli will never wear the badge of the coppers in this county. That is a done deal, their chances in another Garzoli, none, Perdock 15% at best. You can also bet that Mitchell, Perdock, and Garzoli have had conversations directly related to how to handle the end game to as much advantage for them as they can.

The Lovelace group is contemplating the ideas surrounding a member of ours running for A BOS position, sometime in the future when the citizens have created enough change, the opportunity may arrive for one or more of our political party to take the reins in the new system. That political party is the party of the citizens, to run and work in concert with the LE, to create a new direction of cooperation through mutual goals, no one denys the need for a progressive well managed Police force in this county. We have nothing close to that, and we don't have that conscienousness in the BOS as well. Both entities have to change to have one and not the other will not work.

So I listened to the audio of Garzoli -- what a joke! I guess his definition of the police having "to do something" is to take your kids and your buddies' kids up in a helicopter. He states he is an "older guy" -- does he need the sharp young eyes of the kiddies to help him spot the pot? He couldn't seem to remember exactly what happened to the chopper -- it was "damaged, or crashed, or something"...If I had crashed a chopper, you'd better bet your sweet bippy that I'd remember exactly what happened to it -- and I'd specifically remember every second of my life that I relived as I rapidly approached the ground. He stated that he didn't want to go to Iraq or Afghanistan because he was "older" and had a family that wouldn't like him being over there for that long...hmmm....many reservists sent to Iraq are as old or older than him, with families. My guess is he doesn't have what it takes to be in the military -- they have to follow rules and take the consequences for disobedience/insubordination. Wrecking a chopper that your boss didn't know you were flying, without the credentials to do so could get you a court marshal. I guess he wouldn't have liked a stay at Leavenworth or the like had this happened in the military. This interview sheds a whole new light on Garzoli's harassment of an Iraq war veteran in the lobby of the Courthouse a few months ago. He only stopped verbally accusing and treating the veteran as if he were guilty of the charges he was facing when the wife of the man confronted him with the fact that the man was presumed to be innocent until proven guilty, per the U.S. Constitution. Garzoli clammed up and backed off only after the veteran's wife asked him whether he believed the U.S. Constitution didn't apply to he and the rest of the LCSO, and after he was advised to stop by the other deputy present. It's a good think he states he has decided to get out of police work. His type aren't worthy of being trusted with our safety and protection.
 

We moved to Lake County in 1977 and always considered our move here temporary. Although a job transfer to the Geysers brought us to Lake County, the years flew by and our children became adults, married and eventually made us grandparents and we forgot about our plans to move on. Lake County is our home and the way we see it now; Don Anderson for DA and Jack Baxter for Sheriff. Each and every person we've spoken to about our future agrees that Mitchell & Hopkins are done; Anderson & Baxter are the best candidates for reform & healing.
 

To all that read and use this site, to express their opinions I freely state that I do have a agenda. That is to expose those that lie for the employees of this local government. I will give their names for they new and choose to help cover the lies up. Farrington,Brown,Lewis,Smith and Robie.They were the board members and the buck stops with them. The government took my money and all I was looking for was some help with their error to get the contractor to meet government requirements. I am going to tell you this if I be the liar then charge me with perjury. This government has that power. I said to Ms. Rushing, that this was males that took the word of a employee and when they found out their were lied to and not knowing how to be honest,left the status quo. That's the short of it and I state again their liars and much worse the oath took my them was shattered. Thank you.
 

Was the FAA called to investigate Garzoli's helicopter crash? It was my understanding that this was SOP when an aircraft crashes, even a minor incident like this.

They reported that Garzoli was practicing an auto rotation manuver which is an important part of a student pilots flight training. When they tried to set the aircraft down the landing strut gave way causing damage. This in itself is a minor incident but why were they practicing such a manuver in the mountains and not at a safe area at the airport.

If a sheriffs employee learning to fly damages a trainming aircraft who is responsible for paying for the damage. The county? The aircraft owner? The flight instructor?

Garzoli was seen parading around through the sheriffs office in a flight suit for months before this incident but sheriff Mitchell didn't know he was learning to fly. Did Mitchell think he was moon lighting as a plumber in those flight coveralls?
 

Today most if not all law enforcement agencies have a policy which addresses employees who lie. If you lie under oath that's purgery, a crime for which you can be prosecuted.

If you lie to a superior officer. If you lie to cover for another employee. If you lie on an official report. If you refuse to cooperate with an official investigation you can be disciplined by the department.

Mitchell has lied and been exposed every time he opens hjis mouth and he doesn't care. Perdock lied in open court and got busted. This bunch seems to be doing all of the above and getting away with it. They thumb their noses at the public and at their own rules.

This is the example set by the sheriffs top people so why would we be surprised if the deputies lie too. What is going to be done about this? We must vote Mitchell out and get someone in with the strength to clean that place up without painting everyone with the same wide brush.
 

Earlier it was mentioned that the LCSO SWAT described as hunters had been directed to the big pot farms by Garzoli from the air. They swooped in on the farms to destroy them. It was inferred that money and guns were recovered but not turned in. The person posting this named names including a sergeant but no details just inferrence. Are you accusing these people of taking the guns and money for themselves? What happened to the pot and the farmers? What was Rod's share or was he cut out of the action. Now this is a big deal. If true this shows cops running wild who are nothing more then a criminal gang wearing a badge. If its not true we need to know.
 

It's Monday morning Rodney. No better time then now to submit your resignation and disappear before the evidence comes out and you land in your own jail.

Supervisors punking out deputies in public? You got to be kidding! I had that happen to me at CPD when I was younger; in front of criminals. Pretty messed up actually.

If I were Sheriff, I would free up the money to send you guys down to Camp Parks in teams to go through the leadership/logic course. Agencies can do that ya know. Get you guys outside of Lake County and open up your eyes.

One thing I like about Rivero; he wears the coolest shoes. You can tell allot about a mans shoes. He wears these haggered out old Converse Allstars. The man must be a tactical thinker. He's seen me on the street. I don't look like a cop anymore. Never profiled me. Much appreciated.

Ultimately; it not the Sheriff. It's you. All of you make the department. It your collective law enforcement community. Treat it as such and no one can touch you.
