I would like to make most clear,That at no time did I ask that someone be fired for the nails that had rust on them. With that, Brown lied but as the dishonest Flush he is, he uses his power as a supervisor to get away with it. My complaint has always been the total dishonesty with the system and those in the system to deny my rights. Then insuring the guilty the boards protection. They had more of a problem with me as a informer they the corrupt employees.Brown you took the word of dishonest people and then when you found out I was telling the truth did not know how to say you were sorry. so now you just on keep on being a liar.

DSA overview, we have gotten some information on the recent DSA meeting, and we will be posting an overview on the DSA we have gotten from a few inside people. Quite interesting. Will post shortly.
 

Testing a few items now, as you will see word verification is on, we are off moderation for a bit, as we do a few other things, and may go back on for a bit to complete some other items, just playing it by ear, we will be back to regular programming shortly, and will post our DSA update. We have posted before concerning the rogue group of So's who are part of the DSA. We believe the DSA is so corrupt with its current members that it may boarder on illegal. The DSA institutes a policy called selective protection and it affords if you will those of the GOB or corruption supporters all of their efforts to protect them in a discipline situation. Their are a couple of current officers who are actually having to fight only the organization but the DSA itself, this is a shame and constiutes unfair practices based on the fact it is all the officers who contibute to the DSA. We are watching various current cases and communicating with those people to track the activities of this corrupt organization.
 

So let me get this straight.
Pedock (who was promoted by Mitchell) is on admin leave pending his actions in the Dinius case.
Garzoli, (who was promoted by Mitchell) was demoted from sergaent to leiutant for crashing a helicopter. Now as a sergeant he is on Admin Leave for his involvement in the DEA grant.
Morshed (who was promoted by Mitchell) was on suspended for sexual misconduct, then as a deputy he is now on Admin Leave.
Wright (who Mitchell promoted to deputy) failed the FTO program and sent to back to the jail was on Admin Leave, then fired and then arrested.

Yeah I really want Mitchell as Sheriff. He will not promote minorities, only locally raised deputies like Davidson, Martin, Howe, Kenner and Brown.

Also, I really liked Burke statements in the Record Bee today about a new online system on local crimes, his dept is going to make available to the public. "It's kind of the ultimate in crime history for transparency", " I think if you live in a town, you have a right to know what's happening crime-wise", Chief Burke said. You have to hand it to Burke, he runs a tight ship and takes care of business....and he make the rest of the local yahoos LE guys look like crapola! Good job Burke!

In most places I've lived, I have witnessed abuses. And there were no justice crusaders to be found. This is the first place I have lived where I didn't have a problem. My question is why are you zeroing in on Lake County? You can't find corruption anywhere else? Do you think LA Co is a 'jerkwater' town that is easy prey for personal attacks and advance your own agenda? I would really like an answere, it would help form an opinion.
 

Hey I resent that remark about the issuing CCW's I had to earn mine and pass some very strict test and operating of a fire arm safety course, so don't be thinking they are like a bubblegum card and anyone can get them, I know I earned Mine as others have. I am not a gun toting, pistol packing person just got it for my personal safety as I live alone.

Friday night at 9:15 im pulling out of my driveway to pick my kids up from the show.I see lights shinning on every house as this car comes up the street it was raining hard so i could not see what kind of car it was so i went around the block to see what was going on it was a sherrifs car i thought they might be looking for someone and i was concerned for my wifes safety,who i had left alone.i stopped the sherrif and asked him what was going on he told me he was doing an investagation i said was thier someone on my block they were looking for.He said no and it was none of my concern.I said are the local police doing the same thing because behind me was a police car.I was only concerned for my famileys safety. he told me i was interfering with his investagation and to go on my way. how could you be doing police work by shinning lights into peoples houses.Just something for thought it was on garzolis street.
 

Thanks for the post 10:24 there sure seems to be a lot of odd activity going on as of late, and oh by the way if you look at the arrest logs on the sheriffs page over the past few weeks arrests are way down in the county, not sure what the connections are or are not. But something odd is happening in river city and we ain't talking about pool!! Old movie not sure who will get it.
 

Thanks for the post Millie, in simplest form what is know in the county is quite clear and that is that Mitchell does and has handed out CCW's for political favor, and if you were able to take a poll you would see that 99% of those with CCW's would vote for Mitchell if they were not informed of his corruption, and some due to ignorance still will, we know you are not one of those, but as an overall view it is the case.

The CCW program in Lake County is one of the best in the nation. Oh, and before Rod starts taking all the credit, its because we have the best instructors in the state. He can take the credit when it comes to having a very fair, open minded, policy, when it comes to actually signing the permit. He doesn't say he will issue permits, as some do, and then put so many stipulations on the process, that nobody gets a permit. More than one person has thought that getting a CCW was going to be a walk in the park, and then washed out in the classroom, or on the range. Others have taken the class, and decided that after find out all the responsibilities of a CCW permit, they didn't really want one.
 

That's a fair post 11:07, we think the discussion really goes down the line of why does a person need a gun. One person we talked to said, "well I travel to the bay area" so they sent me through the classes and I got my CCW. We think in society it has now gotten to the point where everyone has guns so everyone needs a gun. They say that in Alaska where everyone is allowed to have guns they have very few shootings...LOL in other words your aware that if you pull your s they will pull theirs!! Sad that is the case now in our society, but it appears to be. We just want to make sure that what we have heard is not happening where Mitchell is handing them out like candy. this is Lovelace....

In a county where deputy response time can quite often be calculated in dog years, and investigations usually start after your brains are splattered on the wall, having the ability to protect yourself is no small issue. I am sure, there are voters that will vote for Rod Mitchell again, solely on the issue of his views on CCW permits. Gee, how could a candidate get around that? Maybe by doing a little checking into the number of incidents over the past few years where a permit holder abused the privilege of carrying a concealed weapon, and then altering your proposed policy accordingly. It might take away one more ace in the hole Rod's got up his sleeve.
 

As many of you may recall we had posted the "insurance conversations" of Garzoli's on one of the internet insurance forums on the web. In those conversations Garzoli indicated how he was going to use the fact that he was a sheriff to scare people with crime stats,into buying insurance. If that is not bad enough those stats were reported to be gathered by you guessed it using the SO computers on yup public money while he was on duty. Well there ya go, that Mitchell sure runs a tight ship. Now we also have informtion on another activity of Garzoli's that is to bizzare to believe, we are working on getting exact verification on it and will post it tomorrow, we have 99% knowledge of this next item, but want to be sure before we post it. The combination of these items is the "multiple" reason why Garzoli was put on Admin leave not just Garzoligate with the helo crash.

If you folks checked the national new this morning, you know that Homeland Security has lost a buttload of guns in the last year, through pure stupidity. I think worrying about good people, that are willing to pay a bunch of money, and take sixteen hours of training, to get a permit to carry a firearm, is ignorant. These people aren't the bad guys. Any Sheriff that can't see that law abiding citizens have a right to a CCW permit, as long as they quality, shouldn't be a sheriff anywhere.
 

Post 11:47 we think you just agreed with us what we were discussing is two fold, one the need for "everyone to have a gun is just the way society is now days. Two, if Mitchell is in anyway handing them out for votes he should know we are watching that or questioning that. Remember there are in this county some very bad people who may by the record be "law abiding" citizens as far as arrests etc. but you would not want them to have a CCW, it really is just a cautionary note. But I think we agree. Your post sounded like you did not agree with us yet it seems you do.?

There are some very bad people who by record are "law abiding" and still have their 1st amendment rights as well. Thats that sticky little problem with RIGHTS, you have them UNTIL you perform a nasty deed and are convicted. Think in terms of felons and their loss of voting rights.

The Sheriff will pull anyones CCW if he finds there is a reason that violates the rules for CCW and He has, just because You can get one does not mean You cannot lose it for improper actions.
 

Good input on the CCW's, I think if someone violates the CCW rules by law he is bound to pull the permit, isn't he?
 

The short answer, on why most sheriffs don't issue CCW permits, is they are scared to death, that they will issue that one permit, to a certified nut, that kills a bunch of people. What it boils down too is, they don't trust the judgement of their own CCW instructors. What a shame, that peace officers ( they used to call them that, back in the old days) can't trust their own.
 

You want to hear one of Mitchell's stupid rules? It has to do with Code 3 (driving with red lights and siren). When notified of a physical altercation, the deputy will respond Code 3. Once the physical altercation stops, the deputy shall reduce.

So, if someone calls up stating the neighbor is beating the shit out of his wife, deputies respond Code 3. But if the neighbor states they are no longer in a physical confrontation, the deputy must reduce. We have no law enforcement on scene and we don't know the extent of the fight/injury. I have spoken with several agencies about this. All I have talked with said that they continue Code 3 until at least one deputy can verify the scene is under control.
 

JMHO reducing the speed is a smart thing why should they put themselves in high speed chase to a situation that is cooled down. If you listen often enough you will hear that more often than not, the couple lie and say nothings is wrong,a big misunderstanding and there was no physical fight just talk, a period of time most likely has brought about the reason for reducing speed. Did you know if infact there was a physical fight the one with the most injuries is the one not going to jail even if the one with no marks is the bad guy. so if you get into a DV event make sure you are the one with the outward injuries..................woo hooo

After my neighbors burgularized and vandalized my house 3 times in 2 years, for the price of $6,000.00, I would like to ask the yahoo's(police &sheriff), why they did not take finger prints? The windows were just covered with fresh prints. The officer who came out,(each time), told me, "I have homeowner's insurance, so my loss is covered". I called the supervisor, and he yelled at me into the phone,"I DON'T WANT TO HEAR IT", and hung up on me. $6000.00, of crime to me is major, even when they shot off a gun, into the side of my home also. Why do you employ the police,buy them new cars, and nice equipment, if they do not even want to try to catch people who are doing crime to property owners? I am so happy I sold my property there, and moved to a professional area, where that crap is not allowed! I have been reading all the posts on the net, about what a corrupt, and criminal govt. work day is going on. I wrote a letter to the attorney general, in sacramento, years ago, about your corrupt county. I never heard back anything, it seems the letter went into their paper shredder. It is music to my eyes to read all the posts, about your disastrous work day, that you are getting paid good money for, even!WOW!

That lake county is a real mess, it has been a problem for many years now. One example (of many) I have, is visiting my grandmother, back in the mid 80's. Her neighbors where toothless,dirty, IV drug addicts, on welfare. Your county would NOT clean up the property,or force the property owners into drug rehab,(they were also drug dealer's), despite all the neighborhood petition's, and complaints to your county. One day the police were called to the property because of a domestic violence complaint by neighbors. The police came and shot and killed the husband. The wife died a short time later of a drug over dose. A realitor bought the property after that...... It seems to me they play monopoly with parcels there.

You can have your lake county, your lake is green and it stinks! Your loaded with sex offenders, drug addicts, prostitutes,felon's, and alcoholics. I doubled my money, from my property,(glad I sold when I did!). From what I read, a lot of people have sold, and relocated. Life is too short to deal with a rural corrupt,racist(?), and incompetent govt. Good luck to all the citizen's who live there. Power to the people!
 

To: "high speed chase". The Code 3 response does not mean yo go extremely high speed. But lets say 85MPH on Hwy-29 in a controlling speed. I don't think you would get a rebuttal from any cop.

The report is a physical domestic violence, which is felony. Now you're told the fighting has stopped. As stated a few remarks ago, deputies response time is extremely long. If you are at the Main Office and the report is in Lucerne, you not only have speed to deal with, but slow driver's on the Cut-Off and Hwy-20. You can't pull them over because policy states you can not drive Code 3. Remember speeds on Hwy-20 go down to 35MPH in some areas. I think a reasonable deputy sounding a siren can over the speed limit and not 80 to 100. How about a deputy in Clearlake Oaks responding to the same call that is in Middletown or on Mt. Konocti and have to go to Hidden Valley?

The following is information concerning Moreshed, as all of you know he is on admin leave, we have verified this information through a number of independent sources none of them related to reporters or others not able to truly verify to the degree we require, therefore we post this information with full confidence of its integrity.

A search warrant was issued on Moresheds house several days ago, during the execution of the warrant his home computer was taken, he was suspected of being the individual who posted the Rims report. We at this time do not know the information that was or was not found on this computer. This we do know, Moreshed made a bad mistake and we all know what that was, many men have, and we do not want to get on our high horse in judgement of this man. This officer was always known as a solid cop, he did his job well all good cops will tell you that. He was top notch, and no one can deny that. So lets keep that in mind.

Now here is the other information of interest, remember Moreshed has become an enemy of Mitchell because of his testimony on PAS at the Dinius trial. Mitchell has been after him every since, and he has known this. Also be aware Moreshed filed an EEOC complaint at the same time Rivero did, Moresheds complaint is still in progress, the reports of the names he was called are terrible, and racial GOB's were at it again. The combination of these two things has made Moreshed a mortal enemy of Mitchell this is known throughout the department. We will say this if Moreshed was trying to expose the corruption of this department, then we are with him all the way. He was trying to help the citizens of this county, and we support him, if and we say if it is even determined that he posted the Rims report. If Mitchell is going after him it is only because of the EEOC and the PAS testimony. We will see how this turns out, this is why we asked that all with hold judgements as we wanted to verify this information before posting.

As a last point currently turmoil is ensuing in your government offices, the supervisors are tense, the SO is tense, the little game of hide and seek is coming to an end. What we know currently to be true will continue to be reveled to your as we verify and confirm, and it is not pretty. This is far worse then we thought the collusion between areas of the local government is staggering. If we had 10 times the people we could not cover it all. Stay with us, we look forward to your ideas and communications on this latest information.

What is horrible is referring to a LE that breaks the law as “top notch”. Saying that someone that has sex while on the tax payers dime “did his job well” and is know as a “solid cop”. Mitchell had a special three man group deputies called the Special Enforcement Unit. These three had a photo made up where they are standing like Charlies Angels. Thus they were nicknamed "Rodney Angels." This SED was hand picked by Mitchell and answered only to him. It was headed by Sgt. McMahon (who pointed a loaded gun a another deputy), Gary Hall (local kid) and Morshed (his next door neighbor). The only one left and not in trouble is Hall.

Mitchell had his chance to take care of Morshed right after his testimony, but he didn't because Morshed was his neighbor and helped him get elected. Now his testimony is over a year old and he can't do anything about it.
 

Well, well, well, all you pro Mitchell supporter deputies who called Lande, Ringen and Rivero a liar just got another load of evidence proving the racism exists. Look at the words posted on this site deputies and supervisors said about Morshed. Now you still think Rivero was wrong when he said racism occurs inside LCSO? "Morshed is a solid cop"? Really? This is a cop who lied on the witness stand repeatedly, and in fact a visiting judge, after listening to his testimony, said he would never believe a word he said. That was in open court a few years back. He might be a decent guy otherwise, but as a cop, he was know to fabricate reasons for traffic stops, and then be found lying afterward. This is not news. Ask any of the folks who appeared in court with him about these things, including deputy DA's who were embarassed by his testimony after he was foudn to have simply make up crap to justify a detention, stop, interrogration, etc. This was not a "solid cop." You want to go after someone? Start with him. As for the "camel jockey" comment, yeah I heard them too back in the day. I never heard the "sand "n.....) comment, but from a few idiots it wouldn't surprise me. Did he take them to heart, or complain? Not that I know of, and went on with his job. I don't think the "racial" taint ever applied to him. Yeah, he had problems personnally, with wife and so on, but that's not the point at all. This ain't about that. Was He Mitchell's neighbor? Yeah, but I don't think that brought him any special attention one way or the other.

If he got his ___ in a wringer, it's probably because of the way he conducted his professional life, making up crap to arrest a bad guy, only to be told later it was just that, crap. If he's in a heap o'trouble, I don't think it has anything to do with whether Rod likes or dislikes him. Hell, his ex doesn't even work for the So anymore. Instead, it's probably just that is lies caught up with him.

He didn't tell the truth about the PAS devices. He was wrong. Wrong about "calibrating" them and wrong about them being out of date for accuracy checks. Maybe it was an honest mistake, but it wasn't accurate. Another thing, is Beland, being the guy who does the calibration checks, whould have known.

Morshed didn't lie; If I remember right, beland stated that he had the PAS calibrated the day before the Dinius incident, but Beland never said that in his Dinius testimony. If Beland really did have them calibrated he didn't tell anyone.

Wow all quit last night. Maybe with the Morshed incident the deputies are finally figuring out Mitchell is not the person to manage them. First Capt. Perdock's involvement in the Bismark Dinius case that damaged LCSO in ways that will be felt for years to come. Then Lt. Garzoli manipulated a DEA grant allowing him to fly a helicopter and crashes it. He gives up Lt and becomes a sergeant. Now he is in trouble again. Then Correctional Officer Wright is found with stolen LCSO property and arrested. Now Morshed. It will take someone else to fix LCSO's tarnished reputation and it will NOT be Mitchell.

further DSA meeting update, Mitchell would not even look at Baxter nor talk to him, he is pissed that Baxter did not bite on his bait not to run, it was a real spin job he tried to pull as we already reported, as already reportred none of it matters to the corrupt DSA, they are going to endorse Mitchell across the board. On the inside they already have said they don't like Baxter. Now ask yourself a question, how could someone ever endorse Mitchell at this point in time. The Lake Co. Sheriff's Dept. under the Mitchell Admin is totally a dysfunctional Department. A total waste of tax payers money. The BOS
should take a vote of no confidence in Mitchell NOW. He has shown his failed leadership so many times. It's time for BOS to acted and stop Mitchell and his crew. It's going to cost the tax payers of Lake County a ton of money to clean up the mess Mitchell has been allowed to do.

I chatted with Baxter yesterday, he seems like the genuine article. Or maybe, he is a bigger, lying, stinking, weasel, than Rod, with a better act. It seems like we are going to have to take a chance, heck, we know what a weasel Rod is. What do we have to lose. Jack was very straight forward, and didn't mince words. He sounded a lot more like a cop, than a politician. He calmed my concerns over the CCW permits. Now all we have to do is elect him, and see if he is as good as his word.
 

Every deputy at LCSO knows of the hostility around the office. Everyone walks on pins and needles thinking Brown is going after them next. You say one thing as a joke and the next thing you know Hall is in the office with Brown. The best example of GOB's gone a muck. Unless you are locally raised or kiss some real major ass, you don't stand a chance at LCSO. Perdock was well known for retaliation, Garzoli loved making fun of deputies in public, McPherson's incompetence to supervise his range masters and now Morshed.

The best time will be between the end of the end of election and January. Seeing management realize Mitchell is no longer going to protect them and the new Sheriff is gunning for them. Oh is this going to be good!!!

While working in your jobs as LCLE, if you no longer care to notice the difference between decent people and scumbags, its time to find another job. The decent people here are tired of being treated like scumbags. That is why Mitchell will not win re-election. He himself has issues but that he has let his deputies become a gang and mis-treat good people, will be his downfall. LCSD who go after people they have grudges against is wrong. There are many who are aware of these type of incidents now, partly because of this blog and also because people talk. Ask any EX wife of LE and they will give you an ear full! Using things like "I have a badge" in court to get the judge to be more favorable towards them on child support etc. Why is the DSA holding so close to Mitchell? Because they know that if he loses and he will, the "new" sheriff, no matter who he is, will have a open mind and heart. He will listen to the stories from decent people that were abused and look at the proof they will provide and then he will know what he is dealing with. Mark my words!

Give us an example of this behavior, decent vs scumbag, that you're talking about. Most people are decent, some decent people even make mistakes. It's actually had to get into the "scumbag" category. But being a decent person is not an excuse for committing a crime.

Give an example of going after people out of a grudge? If you're referring to a dogged investigation, then I'd say that's a good thing. I want them to pursue investigations intensely.

Also how about an example where a badge got someone more favorable child support ruling. Apparently you haven't heard of the disomaster. It's all a formula, and it's usually the male getting screwed, whether he's a cop or not.
 

Lets look at that last statement. If true, you are saying Mitchell and/or his management knew Beland was telling the truth. They fired him for his testimony before the trial in an attempt to discredit his reputation. That would be evident by Morshed lying but management took no action. So what you are saying is whoever did Beland's IA and Mitchell conspired to intimidate and harass a witness to a felony? Did anyone ask Hopkins why he didn't take any action to protect his witness? Sounds like a good question for Hopkins radio interview.
 

There are two separate issues with repesct to beland and the pas. One that they weren't accuracy checked, which was moreshed's error, and two that he was ordered not to administer a pas test at the scene, which is innacurate and in conflict with his testimony at the preliminary hearing.

Don't hide behind some lame excuse that people will be hurt, that's a tired old refuge. If some deputies are mistreating the public, it won't change until you report it. No intelligent person is going to accept a blanket and anonymous accusations, because too many of us personally know deputies and have had positive interactions with them.

Mitchell could not manage Perdock; who accessed the report against orders, told DA investigators he was not at a bar and then several people pointed him out in a bar from a line up. Then Mitchell allowed a PI and Perdock's mechanic into the barn against Ostini's advise. Mitchell refused to secure the report from other deputies and Mitchell was on scene but refused to take a management role and get another agency in, but waited three days to call another agency for assistance, although several Napa deputies, detective and lieutenant lives right in county.

Mitchell did not review the DEA grant written by Garzoli, allowed Garzoli to operate the helicopter on LCSO time and tried to deny it to the BOS. Instead of taking disciplinary action, he allowed Garzoli to demote to sergeant. That allowed Garzoli the right for OT and make more money than a lieutenant. What some people don't know, is that Mitchell allowed Garzoli to keep his seniority which made him the second most senior sergeant in LCSO.

Mitchell was told Wright (who was fired) had stolen a taser and other gear, but did have Wright arrested. Than after the press got wind of it, an arrest warrant was issued that same day. Mitchell also took no action against McPherson who managed Wright and the range. That caused an assault weapon to go out of state and missing M16 parts never recovered.

Mitchell suspended (not demotes) Morshed for having sex on duty. Demoted him later for not taking a report and now he's on admin leave.

Now how can you say by any means Mitchell is a better candidate for Sheriff than Rivero or even Baxter?

A real cop would know that what's posted on this site, hardly constitutes evidence. Someone earlier even denied that moreshed was called a sand n_____. I'm certain that such things, if said were reciprocated by moreshed and were all meant to be good natured kidding.

As for "Rodney's angels", the only one who's going, going, gone is the site's inside connect, Moreshed. Hall's been promoted to Lieutenant, and McMahon was hired by another agency in Napa if I heard correctly, hardly something either one of them is likely to be ashamed of.
 

The Lake County News provided a report written by DA Investigator Flynn. It stated Morshed admitted to ordering Beland not to give Perdock a PAS. Morshed said all LCSO PAS were more that a year out of calibration. Mitchell's debriefing stated all LCSO PAS units including Beland's PAS he had that day were in fact calibrated. Looks like Morshed was not truthful, managment knew it, but took no action.
 

Moreshed was wrong about the PAs devices, that's hardly proof of a deliberate lie, and since when does one sergeant order another to do anything. Both beland and moreshed were sergeants at the time this occ'd. Who's to know which is correct anyway, beland has changed his story too many times, stories that were directly contradictory. Claims he was ordered, then testifies to something else. I don't know which one is true, but I know one of them isn't. That's why he's gone and should remain so.
 

You officers that spin, that Mitchell is a good supervisor or manager are belying all that is known. You are known by the company you keep. Its pretty sorry that you over look so much in your justification for Mitchell.

Next issue, we believe there is a potential cover-up in place on some aspects of Garzoli, there are pieces that are not fitting boys, and we are looking at something ain't right, we are not going to list the details right now, but if it pans out, there is going to be a lot of hurt going on. 341 Your correct Beland had did the calibration. Beland was terminated because he went to the DA first to report that he had been ordered not to Pas test Perdock. He testifed as such in court and that's why the IA was done on Beland, he has now a wrongful termination lawsuit pending against the county.

I was told by a local resident who I have the utmost respect for the Supervisor Rob Brown is a self made man who is straight forward and true to his beliefs. They said the man says what he thinks although not always the way people would like to hear. This attitude is carried forward in his dealings with the BOS and Rod. That does show me something. We need someone who is willing to say what he things and not just jerk us off.

Oh it keeps em reading alright, and we love when they hammer Lovelace, keep it up, the neat thing is you don't have a clue what is happening, we have accomplished more with this site and bringing the citizens together in this county then anything that has happened in the past. Tooting our own horn, no, the citizens and they are pissed, you come on here and post, no problem, but the one thing you cannot deny is we have the core of corruption supporters on the run. There is no doubt of that. As of this week they are trying to figure out who this group of citizens is. The supervisors are pissed, divide and conquer is working, the pot is being stirred, and Mitchell cannot with his best efforts get a clue as to what is happening to his little kingdom. We are so grateful to all those citizens helping, for all the information, the inside help, and we are happy to report that none, we mean none has been outed, and all are continuing to help and investigate.

Deputy recounts scene; says breathalyzers not calibrated

Sheriff's Deputy Mike Morshed, who was the sergeant in charge of detectives in April of 2006, took the stand Thursday afternoon.



“I remember Sgt. Ostini, Sgt. Beland and myself having a three-way discussing about using the PAS,” said Morshed.

He said they concluded that they didn't detect any odor of alcohol on Perdock, who had agreed to go to the hospital for a blood draw. Morshed added that the PAS had not been calibrated for a long period of time so there was no point in using it.

“It's kind of a useless tool to us,” he said.
Morshed explained that, at the time of the crash, the program for the PAS units was “not being calibrated like it should have been calibrated,” which meant the readings probably weren't accurate.

Were the tests still being used to arrest people for driving under the influence, Haltom asked? Morshed said they were. “Even though they were inaccurate?” Haltom asked.“Yes,” Morshed replied.
But when Haltom questioned Morshed about the PAS test on Thursday, Morshed stated, “In my opinion there was no order given either way.”

During his testimony on Wednesday, Beland said Ostini said no to the PAS test, and that he understood Ostini's direction not to administer the test as an order, which would have resulted in him being written up if he had pressed it.

That conflicts with a statement Morshed gave to District Attorney Investigator John Flynn this past April 29, in which he said he ordered Beland not to give the test. In that statement Morshed said the PAS units hadn't been calibrated in more than a year.

Good evening everyone. I just got done reading all the juicy stuff since this morning. I would like to comment about Beland and Morshed. No they are not friends, in fact Beland and Morshed were close but after Morshed testified Beland didn't want anything to do with him. Now you may not want to take my word for that so ask Ringen or Rivero or even Ski. Beland is an ass, but he never testified wrong or the courts would have said so.

As for Garzoli, his career is toast and he should just start leaning another job that doensn't involve law enforcement. I can't think of a single person who liked him (well maybe Macedo and Hall).

In other words...He did not oder Beland.It was talked about among the 3 of them.John Flynn stated that that was what Morshed said.But it was an error and it was corrected when we all went to court.But sure, lets sit here a beat a dead horse!

Sure 7:10, it was all good. That's why county counsel signed off on the termination of Beland. It was all just fluff and lies made up to get him fired. Actually I think it's more like he was such an embarrassment that keeping him around could have been considered negligent retention.

As I'm reading the link provided about, I don't see where Beland changed his statement. He said Ostini gave the order. Morshed said he gave the order. There is no correction by John Flynn stating he misquoted Morshed. Bealnd said Ostini and never changed his story. Morshed told Flynn he gave the order, then he said he didn't give the order. Also, no DA, defense, judge or anyone in court stated Beland was untruthful?

So lets see, Mitchell's neighbor who helped him get elected, "Morshed", said he ordered Bealnd not to PAS Perdock (but Beland and Ostini stated otherwise), said the PAS were not calibrated (Mitchell provided they were) and is quoted to be the sergeant in change of the scene. Funny, if Beland was fired for his testimony, why didn't Morshed get fired? Another Mitchell buddy that is now being tossed under the bus.

Howe Info - Howe is married to Jodi Alvord whose mother is Cheryl Smart @ city of Lakeport, Father is Attorney Alvord. Howe's sister in law is Carly Alvord Hommer, married to Mark Hommer formerly of Lakeport PD and the LCSO. Howe is very tight with Brian Kenner (Kenner's wife Becky White and Jodi were high school best friends, along with Norm Talyor of LPD's wife Jennifer Nutt). I'll have more on Howe later.

First off why would Ringen give up his retirement to work for Clearlake Police. If he went to CLPD, his state retirement would stop. He is already maxed out and bragged about that often at LCSO.
 

If ringen gave a damn, he would post it, otherwise its a nothing point.

He didn't leave LCSO because he couldn't, not because he was dedicated to the community. He tried and failed...at CPD no less. He said 1,000 times if he said one that if he couldn't leave, he'd be a thorn in Mitchell's side as long as he could.
 

Yep he said that about Mitchell, but you got the wrong person for CLPD dumb ass. It was Samples and he said it often. He was going to go to CLPD as a sergeant, but shortly after that he made sergeant. Ask around or ask him. If you've been around as much as I you'd know that.

Do you think that the Dinius matter was handled correctly? Do you think that Russell Perdock should have been charged with the death of Lynn Thorton? Sure would like to see your responses.
 

As with all things, hindsight is 20-20. I think with any investigation as complex as a fatal accident there are always areas to improve. A good manager will examine those things and make adjustments where necessary, but if you're looking for a perfect investigation you will be waiting a long time.

If I was the DA I would have charged Perdock for unsafe speed and Dinius and Weber with BUI. The civil wrongful death suit would be the avenue for the family of Lynn to seek justice. Sometimes accidents happen and people die. It's tragic and sad, but it's an accident.
 

8:43. You are referring again to Morshed and Beland....Need I say more? May 18, 2008? How long did it take former Sergeant Beland to make up this lie? That's more than two years after the accident. If I recall correctly his initial statement that he was "ordered" included that he couldn't recall the exact nature of the order or who had ordered him. Sure leaves him a lot of wiggle room for "back stratching." Suddenly a year later he remembers this information??? His inability to recall such important details in a timely manner is justification for termination.
 

Corruption supporter here. Perdock, Dinius and Weber should have all been charged with something. If you were to do a little bit of investigating, I think you would find many LE feel that way also. Including SO. When all is said and done, it is the DA that brings charges. Not the Sheriff.

Since the unsafe speed and several other violated laws contributed to Lynn Thortons death. I am just wondering your logic with not charging Russell Perdock with the death of Lynn Thorton. It seems that others are charged to the hilt for being responsible for a death. It sure appears that Perdock got treatment that others would never imagine of getting. It also appears that he has committed crimes after the fact by perjuring himself in court. With all the internal investigations and he still is on leave. This is very hard to understand. Again could a Mitchell supporter please advise why it appears that Russell Perdock is still getting special treatment. If Russell Perdock would be brought before justice and ajudicated all this uproar would go away as far as Perdock goes. Sheriff Mitchell appears to have more problems that Perdock.

Would like to hear what Mitchell supporters or Perdock supporters have to say.

Dinius was charged and when facts were brought out it appeared that Dinius was made the fall guy. Timing and what appeared to be a very poor presentation by DA Hopkins. The jury and public are trying to send a message that justice was not done and the wrong person was held reponsible for Lynn Thorton's death. The message seems to be getting louder instead of going away. If a civil rights law suit is untimitely filled on Dinius's behalf it will make the message even louder. The public is voicing their opinion and government does not seem to be listening or hoping that it will just go away.
