Lovelace here we read ED's post, on the Lovelace's groups identity, we have enjoyed having on the page, he has at times had good input and at other times nothing of great interest. Ed we hate to break it to you, but you don't have any idea who we are, not a single person. We have left you with your beliefs for the past couple of months, as we never confirm or deny someone who says I know who you are. That is not a game we play it is prudent to do so, as it takes away the mathmatical elimination aspect of the guessing game. Therefore we do appreciate your efforts in trying to figure out who we are, but none the less, whomever you think we are we can tell you for sure it is not any whom you may think it is. If you still choose to believe the understanding you have is true, that is fine as well. Just wanted to set the record straight. Keep posting everyone.

The county has had a complaint form online for a few years. I have used it.
 

934 an officer placed on leave shall extend for the actual period necessary to complete the pre-disciplinary process- So how come the Board of Supervisiors aren't aware of this policy or have refused to put a hault to it. More GOB's ripping off taxpayers. Blame Michell this farce is done on his watch.

Post 10:58: I say to you our voting only changes the person not the system. The same rules, regulations or laws that give them the advantages are left in place. The dishonesty and corruption will go on and that is the reason for their arrogance,there is no one to tell them no. We need to look at this system with a broader view to understand our governments problems. I really have no hope.
 

You can ask the Lovelace group out to lunch, now you have to pay for quite a few people, we might suggest the Harbor in Nice, or perhaps we could do it out of town at a nicer location. We can say one thing to you however, and that is 99% if not a total of 100% you would not know by seeing them, you see we thought through that aspect of things as well, there were several of us, who never enveloped ourselves in the outer conditions of the county nor the people in the county, Therefore those choosen to assist us as well are not known by name in the county nor by looks, so if you did have lunch it would not help you much, however it would cost you quite a bit. Do we hear an offer.

"dueling initiatives" Initiative 09-0067; must gather enough signatures to be put on the fall 2010 ballot. It would change all Legislative actions on revenue and budget must pass by a majority vote instead of 2/3rds. I think this is a good start go to www.repaircalifornia.org....download petition for signatures. This is how we can change laws; keep informed...they won't do it on their own....

Hello and good try 2:05PM. Lets look at what really happened last night.

Some blogger got upset because I proved him wrong over and over.

A Civilian Review Board is used at LAPD, LASO, SFPD and others. They do not violate POBAR. As I said, show me where in 3301 that states it is illegal. I stayed on line for 4 hours and no response.

Rivero purchased a new Ford patrol car on EBay. It was only a few months old, still under warranty and was less than half the price of a new car. Why not jump at the chance?

I'm not Rivero or Morshed but if it makes you feel good, go ahead and believe it. I wonder how I posted on the blog the same time I was on the air with Mitchell? Well I guess the Rivero theory is out. Maybe Morshed? He doesn't have the balls.

the two recently promoted captains, lieutenant and a sergeant (who was kicked out of investigations for poor performance) grew up together. Yet Morshed and Rivero were passed up.

Lets forget Rivero for a second. If Morshed's evaluations were good and nothing bad in his files, how can he end up last on the sergeant's list? He was a sergeant before, supervised Investigations, a member of SED and a K9 deputy.

And what about that EEOC complaint? What does it really say?

Rivero for sheriff is correct he is not Kip. We think it is quite funny as well, as the Lovelace group was Kip as well, we were as well about 17 other people to. But none the less it points to the fact that the anonymity aspect of what we doing is driving the corruption supporters crazy. We get a real kick out of their frustration, for so many years they have been able to discredit those who rise up aganist them and now it does not work. Nor will it work, that party is over, the games are over, get used to it, a new day is dawning and you will not stop that sun from rising.
 

I have little time in life to change laws that those that take our money,that is the bureaucrats job when polices go against good public policy. So would you expect them to look after your interest or theirs? Vote all you care to nothing will change. players change but the game is the same.

What does the EEOC REPORT say? If it is released it says Rivero has told you the truth and Mitchell has lied to you again. Thats why it can't be released. NO I am not Rivero, Lande or Kip. But a supporter to remove Mitchell and Hopkins as soon as possible.
 

Oh don't get me wrong 4:42PM, I think there is a lot of past problems with Morshed that management failed to address, but as they say, "if it isn't in writing it never happened." He has had more choices than any other deputy. What I am saying is look how management rated him for sergeant. Due to the incompetence of management, Morshed had a clean record when he tested for sergeant. He was in charge of investigations before, SED and K9. He screwed up several times, but management failed to address the problem. Now compare that to a deputy who could not even do his job as a detective, but management says he good enough to be a sergeant.

How can you grade someone for promotion using either person as an example?

The only bigger joke than North shore Fire is the Lake Co. Sheriff's Dept. under Mitchell. Maybe Mitchell is teaching chief Jim Robbins on how to fail as a leader. North Shore Fire Command staff also fails to supervise EMT's, Firefighters, Etc. They drive like a bat out of hell and don't use their only resources correctly. I really think that Sheriff Mitchell has given Robbins some advise.
 

It sounds like the promotions within the Sheriff's Dept. is based on what Mitchell can hand out to his little buddies that protect him at the time. Well Perdock and Garzoli have done a fine job in protecting him, they took him and the Department DOWN. Mitchell's failed leadership has added to this.
I've watched from the outside and heard things from within the Department for many years. I told little Rodney in 1997 what was going to happen and it has.

Or are you content to sit behind your anonymity and snipe from the sidelines, like a real coward would? (yes, I was around then too, and don't recall ever hearing such things). The only other person working on the road that night was Ron Gelfan, and he's no longer with us, God rest his soul. I thought I saw something on line that said he was removed because he was still a probationary employee at the time and not eligible for promotion. That's the reason he was removed. Did I imagine that? (I mean, he may have been otherwise eligible, but that rule made him ineligible and was thus removed. I'm willing to concede I'm wrong, if that's not correct.)

I am an SO one could say I am neutral as I have not posted on this or any other site. But I have found I have to post this question based on what I am seeing from the DSA. I will call it selective protection, and it is a crime, when the actual truth comes out on this it will really tell the story. I will just say, that I was always under the impression the DSA was to protect us officers, alas it is not true. What they protect is those choosen ones they want to protect, the others are put through the grind, based on that officers attachment to Mitchell or not. I am ashamed of this group, I may not post here again, but I wanted to get that out in the open.

11:42 -- I am aware that Lechowick was named the worst judge in Mendo county -- so they hired him here after he was no longer on the bench there...typical for the County o'Flake. I am not aware that anyone has sent a CJP complaint on him thus far, but will be sending a very substantial complaint, involving multiple cases and hearings, to them. I believe that his conduct is as bad or worse than that of judges who have been censured or removed from the bench by the CJP, so I am hopeful that my complaint will be effective. No one should have to suffer abuse in the name of "justice".
 

8:33 PM. I write about negative comments about Mitchell. I will never stop reminding the public about how much of an incompetent leader Mitchell is. Mitchell couldn't handle Perdock, Garzoli or Wright and because of this Mitchell has made a mess of the Office of Sheriff. I will not give my name just as you don't give yours. Again you can not open your eyes and see the mismanagement Mitchell has done. He is the Sheriff, goes after anyone who defies him and promotes based mostly on who knows who. He can not direct his captains to manage his lieutenants. Captain's simply needed to review the lieutenant's work, such as reviewing grants. Mitchell had sergeants who engage in racial slurs or promoted shortly after having a poor performance.
So far Rivero is the only one who stands up to Mitchell. Yes two persons have come forward to run, but neither has put their papers in to run in the race. I do respect the fact that they want to get the required voter signatures instead of paying the entrance fee. So good luck to those two.

Look 8:33, if those in power had not forgotten the difference between decent people and scumbags, we wouldn't be complaining. They just treat everyone like scumbags. They show no respect for anyone but their own.
 

I have worked with a lot of very good deputies at LCSO. I've also watched deputies go through the ranks and turn into something they first said they would never be. I have watched good deputies put their lives on the line not only to save a victim, but in some cases to save a suspect. I've watched deputies work cases covering weeks and months, cities, counties to state until they got their man/woman. I have also watched deputies help local police offices when their manpower was short. Even after working long hard shifts, those same deputies would turn around and work overtime so that a deputy would not work without backup.

Mitchell has disrespected the position of Sheriff. Deputies now fear that Mitchell's new captain's will come after them for minor violations and than watch locally raised deputies do the same thing and nothing happens.

When the public only wanted to know the outcome of the EEOC complaint, Mitchell refused stating it is a personnel matter. Most people didn't want to hear deputies names, they just wanted to hear the outcome. Mitchell refused that too.

As you can see I did not name bad cops this time, just actions taken by Mitchell.

1114 - LAPD & SFPD use a citizen review board. What wasn't mentioned is that both were forced to under a federal conscent degree rather then have the feds come in and take over because of their past practices. Do we want the Feds coming in to Lake Co? Hell, they can't run their own shop let alone ours.
 

Mitchell has discredited his office and all those good hard working men and women in his office. Time to go Rodney before the big flush comes. Slither off before you do any more harm.
 

On the subject of stripping parts from weapons that are scheduled to be destroyed. This is a common practive among many if not most LE organizations. Before the weapon can be officially destroyed there must be a court order directing its destruction. Parts may be removed to be used by the department's armorer to repair issued weapons thus saving the tax payer a lot of money. In the case of valuable antiques or rare weapons they can seek a court order which would allow the weapon to be donated to a museum or placed on display.

The receiver of the weapon with the serial number is what must be accounted for and destroyed. In some cases the court can direct the entire weapon be transferred to the department for its use. An exam[ply might be a tactical assault weapon or sniper rifle to be used by a special weapons unit. This too can save the tax payers considerable money. None of this is unlawful or unreasonable unless the same weapon goes home with an unauthorized individual.

A weekly newspaper reporter trying to unseal a local judge's divorce file won a round last week when a California Appellate Court remanded the case for trial.
Overturned a Superior Court ruling against teh reporter, the first District Court of Appeal said there is no legal precedent for sealing the entire transcript of a divorce proceding. Mark Heimann a freelance writer for Anderson Valley Advertiser in Mendocino is attempting to prove that Municipal Judge Vincent T. Lechowick, 49 has ben held in contempt for failure to pay child support. Lechowick contends the file is personal, and disclosure would embarass his two teenage sons. Last February, the Advertiser editorial termed Lechowick "The Second Worst Judge in the County." (also scroll down to It's Personal: Weekly Battles Judge over divorce-Calif weekly wants files unsealed to prove "fitness for office".
In Aug 1998 Case entitled, In re Marriage of Lechowick-a Mendocino County judge was involved in his own personal divorce case, and was interested in having his case file sealed so no one could go snooping. Evidently, a local journalist and the judge had developed a rather antagonestic relationship. The judge obtained an order sealing his divorce record and the case went up for appeal.
The Court of Appeal said no so fast, and reversed the trial court order sealing the record in order to take a second look at the matter, issued by issue. The issue was both the right of the press and the public to view and hear ongoing proceedings in the case and their rights of access to the sealed court records.
 

You're right, in 1991, the fed's set up the civilian review board in light of the Rodney King riots for LAPD. It was set just to look over LAPD and make recommendations to command. But before you start jumping for joy, in 1995 it was so successful that the citizen's of Los Angeles voted to make it into the city's charter making it a permanent Office of Inspector General. SFPD is not under federal mandate to form a Citizen's Review Board. IT was the voters. It was established in 1983 by the voters, not the fed's.

Judge Martin has posted a commentary in the record bee, on his opinion on a new courthouse, we have just posted a comment hammering him. We suggest all parties go to that commentary and nail this guy in the comments section, his opinion and integrity are not wanted. Everyone go over and post that he is under investigation through the CJP, his terrible relationship with the PD's and complete lack of transparency are just a few of the things to bring up. He does not need to posting to the tax payers asking for more money when this county is in the shape it is in. His seat on the bench looks quite comfortable to me.
 

sorry to have taken up all the space with Lechowick but he's been known for his errors in court. One case was a child support case which the father was working 2 jobs and the judge's order was for more money than the man's 2 jobs earned. He was told by Lechowick to get another job. Another case he punished the party for filing a complaint by awarding punitive charges and it was appealed for his error which was returned in favor by the original party who brought the complaint. Some say he's just as bad as John Hopkins.

What does Lechowick have to do with the Mitchell/Hopkins Corruption Watch. He may be a bad judge (and by the posting here it looks that way) but we need to stay focused on Mitchell, Hopkins and his mismanaged management. We don't even vote in Mendocino County?
 

I loved the idea of having a National Guard officer review LCSO policy and inventory the armory. Being an officer gives the public a sense of trust that LCSO right now has very little of. That would surely be less expensive than having another agency do it.
 

San Francisco has a citizens review board that tries hard to run their police department. There are few cities in the US as whacked out as SF which is run by liberal, left wingers with one special agenda after another. Do we want Lake County to be run by people like this?
 

Why would a National Guard officer be more qualified to review LCSO then anyone else. We have a lot of former military officers living in our community who would be equally qualified. Because a person is commissioned as an officer in the military doesn't mean they klnow anything about police work which is much more complex then many people are willing to admit.

A serving National Guard officer can not conduct such a review without authorization of the Governor. That rings of the military moving to take over our government. Does the term military dictatorship pr Iran mean anything to you.

Granted our SO has lost the confidence and trust of our community thanks for Sheriff Mitchell and his poor choice of upper management within his department. This is nothing that can't be corrected. Our SO needs a strong, respected leader who will set standards and keep them and who's goals are to work with the community not against them.
 

San Francisco has a police department that listens to their people. The people voted for the citizen's review board. Is that what we want, law enforcement in Lake County to listen to the people? Hell yes!!!

A National Guard officer would be a third party with management experience of a military or (as in cops) a semi-military organization. A National Guard office can be asked and if authorized by his commanding officer, can provide such service.

I also agree that LCSO needs a strong, respected leader that works with the community. Even if the governors office needs to be contacted, I don't see this request being turned down. As I said, this officer would review range and armory procedures. He in turn would make recommendations to the Sheriff, BOS or both. It is a cheap way instead of spending thousand's of dollars for another agency to do it. We except LCSO to do it themselves.

Also, McPherson, Wright and even Capt. Brown are or was a member of the national guard in Lakeport so I can't see any objections from them.

Our law enforcement agencies in Lake County MUST listen to the needs of the people. The Sheriff works for us not the other way around. He must be open to the input and the needs of the community and not just someone who will pat us on the back, smile and go head to business as usual. That's what this country is all about although admittedly we seem to have lost sight of that.

Our sheriff must be open to new ideas and critical review. He must be willing to create a positive chabnge and a comfortable atmosphere for those of us he is charge with protecting.

We, the citizens must run our local government including the Sheriff who is an important part of the government through the ballot box. If they are not doing their job or have lost track of their mandate then its time to vote them all out.

What I don't think we need is a special paid citizens group that wants to run the sheriffs office. I am against such a citizen run group which has so much power over our sheriff especially one that is paid creating one more unnecessary level of bureaucracy. I for one do not want to see Lake Co. become another San Francisco, Berkeley or Santa Cruz. If you do then bless you and I respect your opinion however here we disagree.

Call the Governor, call out the guard and lets have a police state. Rodney is bad enough, we don't need the army invading our county and trying to run the show.

Pay attention here Rodney. Some people want the army so you need to beat them to the punch. Perhaps a road block to conduct random short arm inspections.
 

Brown, McP and Wright are part of the problem not the solution. They of all people should be against the guard running things. They would be in the stockade and not have their sins covered up. Bad argument.
 

Again, it is not a request for the Guard to run anything. I just suggest they review, audit and report their findings to the Sheriff or BOS. They would not have any power to make or change policy. That is up to the Sheriff or BOS.

Brown as being part of Sheriff Rod's GOB's and an incompetant dope promoted beyond his means and the next you want him to review and recommand changes to his boss because he was in the guard. What up here? Why don't we get someone from Safeway's box boy or box persons union to come in and get us organizes. At lease they will know what shelf to stack the deputies, sergeants, lieutenants and captains on. Of course the sheriff himself will go on the top shelf where he belongs.

I'm not Ringen, but lets look at arrests status. Brown, Howe, Bauman and Perdock had a very low arrest rate. If you look, you'll see that everyone in management (except Hall) were very low performers. And no I'm not supporting Hall, just stating the truth.

To 10:07 -- Lechowick is no longer in Mendo County -- he sits on the bench in Courtroom A in Lakeport, and in Clearlake as well. He handles all the traffic, animal control, child support, family law, and juvenile cases. What the other poster said is true. He issues rulings that are outside the law and is costing this county money in the way of appeals, etc. He is openly biased in court, and issues support orders above what people can pay. He is another one of the corrupt County o'Flake incumbents that needs to go. He and his attorney spent much time consulting with Hopkins' office regarding a civil case that wasn't being pursued by Hopkins/DA. More cost to the taxpayers, and something that needs to be watched. Why does it take over 3 years to hear a simple child support modification? Is that doing their job? All the incumbents need to GO!

The California National Guard is a State agency, and such use of their resources would have to be authorized/ordered by the Governor's office. I don't know that they would agree to step in to this issue and audit the LCSO practices, and don't believe that it falls inside their responsibilities unless in time of disaster. In any case, we are not in a police state or state of emergency, although if things continue the way they have been, I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up there. I'm not saying it isn't a good idea to have the audit conducted by an outside agency, just stating that it isn't likely that the National Guard would be that agency.

What law do you think the NG would be enforcing? I only suggest an audit and review that would answer to Sheriff or BOS. It would be up to them, not the NG, to change, modify or make policy off those recommendations. I'm looking for a cheap and impartial way of doing it. What do you suggest?

How about one of the three candidates running against Mirchell. If Miitchell is ousted and someone else comes in don't we owe it to them to have an opportunity to evaluate the entire department and make their own recommendations for change. If not then why do we need anyone. Lets just give it to the NG or the Gov. he's a great manager. How about Pelosi from SF she too can bring is a board of citizen managers playing cop.

Okay, now back on focus: That is getting Rod out and good sheriff in. So let's now evaluate the viables. That would be Rivero, Baxter, McCarty. What are the pros and cons as to each. Baxter is said by some to non-viable because he is a late comer. So just because he's late into the race he's not a good contender? Same with McCarty. Although the later has baggage from years ago with CPD, and a few other issues, still worth consideing, albeit perhaps not for long. Looks like it boils down to Rivero (a bit rough around the edges, but still has worthy comments, and perhaps Baxter. Can't give much to McCarty, given his last poor performance in not only the local race, but history with CPD, Hopland, and elsewhere. So it's between Rivero and Baxter. Let's see: experience versus none when it comes to management. Ideas that are proven, versus some that aren't. Citizen's Review (in a county, not a city, where none has been instituted before) and practical ideas. Ask Frank where a CRB (that's Citizens' review board) has ever been instituted in a sheriff's department versus a city police force. The answer there would be "none." Just checkng the facts, ma'am. I'll go with the old guy on this one. But hey, I'm ready to be told how wrong I am, which I'm sure this blog will do...

Post 7:37 your post is excellent we have no issue with that opinion, We have not endorsed any candidate in this election. You should be sure you read carefully our position statement at the top of our page. The issue is not who is the next sheriff and DA, the issue is that both are gone, and no clones replace them, remember we talk about "organizations" as a whole of the model that creates corruption. This means not only do we look at the sheriff and DA but the entire organization of our local government who encludes the BOS and other associates and positions who have been on watch while this environment of corruption and deceit has unfolded.
So don't paint a picture of this group in such small boundries, and don't underestimate what we will accomplish. The first 6000 post's on this site are proof enough. It is clear that the public, the good cops in the LE, and many others needed a platform of safety to vent their fears, concerns, and angers over the current SO and DA regimes. Anonymity and security were essential, and with the input of the citizens it has served that purpose. Don't try and call us out, you don't have enough information nor insight to follow what we are doing.
 

Lovelace: my post was not a calling-out. It was to remind those who post wshat the mission is, and that sides should not be taken other than to oust the incumbents. Isn't that the point? I did not try to suppose what your viewpoint was, other than to be rid of the currennt regime. Oh, and as to that figure (6000 posts), I thing that should really be cut down a bit, because a great many of those were yours alone. That's not to say lots of posts have happened, but again, take out yours and those who were the repeat bloggers and tirades and spammers, and the real number is probably quite a bit fewer than that, as to real people who post real posts with real input. Post 8:21, well it seems as if you have tempered your approach a bit. We think in many aspects we are in agreement. We don't need to quantify in Excel spreadsheet format the various contributary aspects of the numbers, they are going and those numbers are huge regardless of how you try to minimize the success. That having been said, uh so our group posting should not be counted in the numbers, we represent quite a few people who have access to the Lovelace Moniker, and when they post it is contributary to the whole of the discussion. But we will tell you, that it is no more then 2 or 3 percent of the whole.

Our final question to you so we know where you stand, is this, regardless of who replaces Mitchell and Hopkins, the important point is that both are removed, and not replaced with clones, but with real change agents who support the citizens and are willing to bring the county to a condition where the citizens and the LE work in concert for a common goal. If you want to dispute that model go for it. Otherwise we are in agreement.

The result of his reactions to our inquiry's is stunning and to say the least paints a picture of not only a system gone bad but in our opinion a man gone bad. But then i remembered... being a kid and everytime we would pass a lake county sheriff they would put there orange lights on my dad. He would always say, "Watch son, there gunna do it again." Sure enough.. the lights flashed sometimes even before they passed. He said that a deputy told him that "they" had there eyes on him. When i asked him why, my dad had told me that he doesnt know why, but when he came from San Jose in the early 80's they would pull him over just to ask what he was doing there. Thinking back i can remember incedents such as this and its time for a change. We are a proud patriotic family, a Veteran of the Vietnam War who lost his leg there, and a two-time Veteran of the War on Terrorism... who knew that i would have to continue when i got back home??? How can i help???


ROB BROWN'S FIRST RESPONSE TO US WAS A SINGLE SENTENCE INDICATING HE WOULD LIKE THE BOYS FATEHERS NAME AS HE HAS FOUND THAT MOST OF THESE PEOPLE HAVE AN AXE TO GRIND, AND THERE ARE TWO SIDES TO EVERY STORY. We can get the fathers name from the young man I am sure, we do not know at this time if he has passed or is still alive, we suspect he has passed but have not asked him. We can only assume that by putting it into perspective it would mean check to be sure he was not some kind of bad guy or something? Let's assume once put into perspective and it is determined he was your average Mexican or American Indian, with no negative history, which we suspect is the case. Then what would your next overview be. Thanks for responding we felt very compelled by this young man's story. Mitchell has hurt our county badly Mr. Brown, the positive feedback from the community and those from the state capital on down would be quite impressed by a supervisor who stepped up to the plate and did the right thing. As we all know at this point in time it would not be seen as a "political" move on the supervisors part to make this statement, it is done across our country, when an individual strays into this level of poor leadership and decision making, potentially costing the county millions, a statement is generally issued that says we would think it best if you steppped down. We hope you do the right thing, and thanks for responding to our citizens group, we appreciate it very much. We were told you and perhaps one other supervisor would respond, thus far two have as anticipated. We will try to get you his name. The family has indicated that at this point in time they are fearful of exposing themselves in regards to actions from the sheriff's department, so we will ensure them of their safety if we revel their information to you, if you agree that it is ok.

What is your point exactly? In his comments he speaks of he and his dad's version of events. In your request, you ask for the Sheriff to step down on behalf of this man's observations of the 80's. I am simply asking for clarification see what the connection between deputies of the 80's and the current deputies are in this situation.

It is fairly simple. While I am a big supporter of our veterans, I'm sure this young man has a high opinion of his own father even if he were someone that may have had some legitimate contact by Deputies (or CHP, or city police). You nor I know the true story just like you don't know the true story about James Henderson. I never lied to him. I told him that nobody would be or should be fired just because the heads of the nails on his house started showing some rust (his real issue). Just because he didn't like the answer doesn't mean it's a lie. Just because he is a veteran doesn't give him the right to be a liar himself.
 

Wait a BD minute! Hopkins got a reward for 20 years of service? To whom? Back in 1999 he was applying to be Da in Santa Cruz. Isn't that only 11 years ago? He was an employee of SC county then, and only "on loan" to Lake County under Da Hedstrom. Luck took over in 2001, when Hopkins was on board only after getting the pass over from Santa Cruz. So how did he get 20 years anywhere? This is the Lovelace group, We are still a bit confused concerning the effect the letter from the young man who is just back from Iraq had on you. It is quite a simple situation, as he explained, Many years ago when he was young his father was profiled over and over by the SO. Period. This young man comes home from war and see's the terrible state this county is in, the lawsuits, the corruption, the continued racial issues, the inability of the BOS to even take a simple stance that it might be time for Mitchell to step down. He asked what he can do to help, we put him in touch with a fine young women who is doing great work for us signing people up to vote in the Indian and Hispanic demographic. She is working with us as well, and doing a great job, and this was a perfect fit for the young man. Now in simplest terms what we have asked you is this. Since no one can deny the terrible leadership of Mitchell and Hopkins the terrible decisions that have been made the money it is and will cost the county. The internal strife that is going on in the SO, and it goes on and on. So the question is to you to complete the sentence.

Young man the reason I will not make a statement to Mitchell that it is time to step down is because.....Now you complete the sentence, we have asked this of all but one of the supervisors, we have gotten no response. Now we ask you to complete the sentence without hedging on it would sound political, or it is not something we can enforce, or I may suspect your dad was a bad man, or whatever the litany of things may be that would divert from the question. The state of the county is a nightmare, when it comes to the SO and DA, there is no two ways about it. Therefore assuming you are sending this response to this young man, you tell him why you cannot do what is morally and ethically right. Because that is what he is asking, he does not want a lot of run-around and frankly neither to the good citizens of this county.
 

SECOND POST RESPONSE BACK TO ROB BROWN

Let's talk about the Admin leave issue for moment. Did you listen to the radio show between Rivero and Mitchell, we suspect that not a single supervisor listened to that debate we know of three for sure that did not. Did you? Or is the most critical election for sheriff in our county not important to you? But giving the benefit of the doubt lets assume you did. You then heard the hammering we put on Mitchell for the public to hear on Admin leave issues, and we told him he was going to take greater and greater heat on the issue from the inside. Did you hear us have that conversation with him? We have sent e-mail directly to Mitchell and Bauman on this very issue, we have been hammering it over and over. Your actions as a BOS are a direct result of the citizens becoming aware of the travesty the BOS has allowed to happen. Our direct input on our website raised the awareness of this issue. e-mails have been sent to the BOS concerning this issue. Your board should never never let it get this out of hand. The BOS can try to say they are the sole entity pushing this issue, but you know that is not true, and you know that only due to the public out cry over this entire mess are you reacting to it. You also know that if Garzoligate had not happened nor Dinius, The BOS will still be languishing in La La land on this issue.So I think we have settled the incorrect and bullshit aspect of your comments, we will remain more civil then your presentation. We will say this we guarentee we have had conversations with several supervisors on the admin issue. We are not going to revel who they have been, as we respect those conversations. Everyone can deny it in front of everyone else but it is a fact pure and simple. We do not deal in selective memory, and we do not expect the BOS to do it either. We do not want The BOS to pick a fight with us, that would be counter productive to say the least, but we do detect a bit of defensiveness in your tone and the BOS as a whole, we would want you to work with us. We appreciate the fact Mr. Brown that your concerns are not with the county, that has been evident for many years now. It sounds like you are a tired man, who wants to get out. So you will be, that is good for the citizens and that is good for the county. Hopefully it will be good for you as well. We already indicated to you, we had several conversations with this young man, he is sincere, Those conversations and as we told you connecting him with another voter registration citizens advocate is also a step that we took. So despite your apparent inability to understand such basic concepts, it took no insightful acumen on our part to come to the truth of the matter. Of course you did not listen to the radio debate, why would you, now that we understand your lack of concern for this county and its people. What work is it you have to do Mr. Brown, as this county has fallen into total despair, you haven't done a thing, so what is this great work that you have to do? Here is the part that concerns us, what you really are saying Mr. Brown is that you won't suggest to Mitchell that he step down, because you don't give a damn about this county at this point, your reply e-mail is full of frustration and distaste for your position. We did not ask you to get involved in the election, this has nothing to do with the election, and we have explained this to you several times. We are not sure why you can't grasp this basic concept. What level of corruption would prompt you to do the right thing? Is there any Mr. Brown? It appears not, and this can only be attributed to your terrible attitude and inability to perform in your supervisor role at this time. You sir have written off the citizens and this county.

To use the small words of weasel and name calling, is astounding coming from a supervisor, your anger is due to being placed in a position of answering questions to which you don't have the proper answers, you know what they are, and your small childish response is a sign of your ignorance and lack of critical thinking skills. We suspect it has always been that way. You don't like the idea of being called out, we called you out Mr. Brown and this is your response. You have missed every point, and failed to even grasp some of the more basic concepts of what was described to you.

Here is the part that has true consequences for this county, you don't want to be in your job right now, don't you think you should remove yourself at this point and let an interim person step in, or let the other supervisors step in to fill your shoes, so the citizens are taken care of? How can you go on in your position with this attitude? It is we are afraid at best untoward, and at worst a sign of a greater problem you may have which will not serve the citizens in the manner necessary while they pay your salary.

Our next steps concerning you, will become clear as time goes on. We are sorry you have chosen the wrong path for your frustration but it is clear you should not continue in your postion while being paid by the citizens of this county. That is something that I often use towards condescending little weasels. This is a statement made to concefrned citizens by a public official. Who is the hell does this clown think he is? Perhaps the term weasel came to mind after looking in the mirror or talking to his sheriff.
 

This is the mentality you as citizens are faced with, this, just one of the symptons of a corrupt local government. Not a single supervisor had an answer, not a single one could muster a decent response. Now you can understand the approach we must take, we must cut off the heads of the two headed snake(Mitchell and Hopkins) and then re-educate or replace the old guard with new progressive BOS and county officials. We must go after the judges, which we have, we must attack this system from all sides and we have and we will.
 

Is this the reason behind good ole Rob pushing the issue of Admin. Leave today? Is this why Mitchell appeared before the board regarding Admin Leave today? Is this why they are revamping the policy on Admin Leave? Inever cared for Rob and his attitude with such disrespect for the citizens that have come before the Board. His comments are that of a don't give a damn and his condesending tone needs to be adjusted. This WEASEL needs to put in his rightful place! Down on the mat and pinned!

This is the Lovelace group, we are going to post 2 to 3 posts in a row. These post will be copied messages of a conversation we engaged Supervisor Rob Brown in over the last few days. The result of his reactions to our inquiry's is stunning and to say the least paints a picture of not only a system gone bad but in our opinion a man gone bad. We will give a brief overview of each post so you can follow the chain of events and the resulting "last" e-mail Mr. Brown sent to us. We present this to the citizens to show the great difficulity in changing the paradigms these small minded government officials are working in, and the childish manner in which in this case Mr. Brown choose to respond in. Our final response back to Mr. Brown will be posted as well.

Mr. Brown, why don't you think about how you would answer this young mans questions about why you will not do the moral and ethical right thing by asking Mitchell and Hopkins to step down, his picture hangs on the courthouse wall, we are sure he would be quite curious as to your answer. Hello,I am a 24 yr old mexican/native american who grew up in lake county. You can see my picture hanging up in the courthouse with all of the other Lake County Veterans of War. It has been a struggle for me since returning home from my second tour in Iraq, but nothing has bothered me more than the news report on the sheriffs that are supposed to be protecting my community, my home. But then i remembered... being a kid and everytime we would pass a lake county sheriff they would put there orange lights on my dad. He would always say, "Watch son, there gunna do it again." Sure enough.. the lights flashed sometimes even before they passed. He said that a deputy told him that "they" had there eyes on him. When i asked him why, my dad had told me that he doesnt know why, but when he came from San Jose in the early 80's they would pull him over just to ask what he was doing there. Thinking back i can remember incedents such as this and its time for a change. We are a proud patriotic family, a Veteran of the Vietnam War who lost his leg there, and a two-time Veteran of the War on Terrorism... who knew that i would have to continue when i got back home??? How can i help???


ROB BROWN'S FIRST RESPONSE TO US WAS A SINGLE SENTENCE INDICATING HE WOULD LIKE THE BOYS FATEHERS NAME AS HE HAS FOUND THAT MOST OF THESE PEOPLE HAVE AN AXE TO GRIND, AND THERE ARE TWO SIDES TO EVERY STORY. MR. BROWN FAILED TO REALIZE THIS WAS A STORY OF RACIAL PROFILING IN LAKE COUNTY BACK MANY MANY YEARS, AND THE YOUNG MAN WAS TRYING TO SHOW THE PATTERN HE NOW RECOGNIZES. BROWN THINKS THE FATHER IS ALIVE AND WELL AND IT IS PRESENT DAY.

We can get the fathers name from the young man I am sure, we do not know at this time if he has passed or is still alive, we suspect he has passed but have not asked him. We can only assume that by putting it into perspective it would mean check to be sure he was not some kind of bad guy or something? Let's assume once put into perspective and it is determined he was your average Mexican or American Indian, with no negative history, which we suspect is the case. Then what would your next overview be. Thanks for responding we felt very compelled by this young man's story. Mitchell has hurt our county badly Mr. Brown, the positive feedback from the community and those from the state capital on down would be quite impressed by a supervisor who stepped up to the plate and did the right thing. As we all know at this point in time it would not be seen as a "political" move on the supervisors part to make this statement, it is done across our country, when an individual strays into this level of poor leadership and decision making, potentially costing the county millions, a statement is generally issued that says we would think it best if you steppped down. We hope you do the right thing, and thanks for responding to our citizens group, we appreciate it very much. We were told you and perhaps one other supervisor would respond, thus far two have as anticipated. We will try to get you his name. The family has indicated that at this point in time they are fearful of exposing themselves in regards to actions from the sheriff's department, so we will ensure them of their safety if we revel their information to you, if you agree that it is ok.

What is your point exactly? In his comments he speaks of he and his dad's version of events. In your request, you ask for the Sheriff to step down on behalf of this man's observations of the 80's. I am simply asking for clarification see what the connection between deputies of the 80's and the current deputies are in this situation.

It is fairly simple. While I am a big supporter of our veterans, I'm sure this young man has a high opinion of his own father even if he were someone that may have had some legitimate contact by Deputies (or CHP, or city police). You nor I know the true story just like you don't know the true story about James Henderson. I never lied to him. I told him that nobody would be or should be fired just because the heads of the nails on his house started showing some rust (his real issue). Just because he didn't like the answer doesn't mean it's a lie. Just because he is a veteran doesn't give him the right to be a liar himself.
 

HERE IS OUR RESPONSE TO MR. BROWN IN TWO POSTS

This is the Lovelace group, We are still a bit confused concerning the effect the letter from the young man who is just back from Iraq had on you. It is quite a simple situation, as he explained, Many years ago when he was young his father was profiled over and over by the SO. Period. This young man comes home from war and see's the terrible state this county is in, the lawsuits, the corruption, the continued racial issues, the inability of the BOS to even take a simple stance that it might be time for Mitchell to step down. He asked what he can do to help, we put him in touch with a fine young women who is doing great work for us signing people up to vote in the Indian and Hispanic demographic. She is working with us as well, and doing a great job, and this was a perfect fit for the young man. Now in simplest terms what we have asked you is this. Since no one can deny the terrible leadership of Mitchell and Hopkins the terrible decisions that have been made the money it is and will cost the county. The internal strife that is going on in the SO, and it goes on and on. So the question is to you to complete the sentence.

Young man the reason I will not make a statement to Mitchell that it is time to step down is because.....Now you complete the sentence, we have asked this of all but one of the supervisors, we have gotten no response. Now we ask you to complete the sentence without hedging on it would sound political, or it is not something we can enforce, or I may suspect your dad was a bad man, or whatever the litany of things may be that would divert from the question. The state of the county is a nightmare, when it comes to the SO and DA, there is no two ways about it. Therefore assuming you are sending this response to this young man, you tell him why you cannot do what is morally and ethically right. Because that is what he is asking, he does not want a lot of run-around and frankly neither to the good citizens of this county.
 

SECOND POST RESPONSE BACK TO ROB BROWN

Let's talk about the Admin leave issue for moment. Did you listen to the radio show between Rivero and Mitchell, we suspect that not a single supervisor listened to that debate we know of three for sure that did not. Did you? Or is the most critical election for sheriff in our county not important to you? But giving the benefit of the doubt lets assume you did. You then heard the hammering we put on Mitchell for the public to hear on Admin leave issues, and we told him he was going to take greater and greater heat on the issue from the inside. Did you hear us have that conversation with him? We have sent e-mail directly to Mitchell and Bauman on this very issue, we have been hammering it over and over. Your actions as a BOS are a direct result of the citizens becoming aware of the travesty the BOS has allowed to happen. Our direct input on our website raised the awareness of this issue. e-mails have been sent to the BOS concerning this issue. Your board should never never let it get this out of hand. The BOS can try to say they are the sole entity pushing this issue, but you know that is not true, and you know that only due to the public out cry over this entire mess are you reacting to it. You also know that if Garzoligate had not happened nor Dinius, The BOS will still be languishing in La La land on this issue.So I think we have settled the incorrect and bullshit aspect of your comments, we will remain more civil then your presentation. We will say this we guarentee we have had conversations with several supervisors on the admin issue. We are not going to revel who they have been, as we respect those conversations. Everyone can deny it in front of everyone else but it is a fact pure and simple. We do not deal in selective memory, and we do not expect the BOS to do it either. We do not want The BOS to pick a fight with us, that would be counter productive to say the least, but we do detect a bit of defensiveness in your tone and the BOS as a whole, we would want you to work with us. However it should be understood that we have a goal for the citizens and the good cops trapped in this county, and they have become trapped on your watch, to that no one can deny. please be sure you pass on this response to the rest of the supervisors, and we give you one more admonition, if the BOS tomorrow finds itself collectively beating on the Lovelace citizens group, as you try to self comfort yourselves, and in your minds deter yourselves from what we are trying to accomplish then we would ask you to stop yourselves and re-think your motivations.

Finally, I have decided that I will not be involved in the outcome of ANY race whether it be Supervisor, Sheriff, DA or any other race. The voters are very capable in figuring it out.

We appreciate the fact Mr. Brown that your concerns are not with the county, that has been evident for many years now. It sounds like you are a tired man, who wants to get out. So you will be, that is good for the citizens and that is good for the county. Hopefully it will be good for you as well. We already indicated to you, we had several conversations with this young man, he is sincere, Those conversations and as we told you connecting him with another voter registration citizens advocate is also a step that we took. So despite your apparent inability to understand such basic concepts, it took no insightful acumen on our part to come to the truth of the matter. Of course you did not listen to the radio debate, why would you, now that we understand your lack of concern for this county and its people. What work is it you have to do Mr. Brown, as this county has fallen into total despair, you haven't done a thing, so what is this great work that you have to do? Here is the part that concerns us, what you really are saying Mr. Brown is that you won't suggest to Mitchell that he step down, because you don't give a damn about this county at this point, your reply e-mail is full of frustration and distaste for your position. We did not ask you to get involved in the election, this has nothing to do with the election, and we have explained this to you several times. We are not sure why you can't grasp this basic concept. What level of corruption would prompt you to do the right thing? Is there any Mr. Brown? It appears not, and this can only be attributed to your terrible attitude and inability to perform in your supervisor role at this time. You sir have written off the citizens and this county.

To use the small words of weasel and name calling, is astounding coming from a supervisor, your anger is due to being placed in a position of answering questions to which you don't have the proper answers, you know what they are, and your small childish response is a sign of your ignorance and lack of critical thinking skills. We suspect it has always been that way. You don't like the idea of being called out, we called you out Mr. Brown and this is your response. You have missed every point, and failed to even grasp some of the more basic concepts of what was described to you.

Here is the part that has true consequences for this county, you don't want to be in your job right now, don't you think you should remove yourself at this point and let an interim person step in, or let the other supervisors step in to fill your shoes, so the citizens are taken care of? How can you go on in your position with this attitude? It is we are afraid at best untoward, and at worst a sign of a greater problem you may have which will not serve the citizens in the manner necessary while they pay your salary.

Our next steps concerning you, will become clear as time goes on. We are sorry you have chosen the wrong path for your frustration but it is clear you should not continue in your postion while being paid by the citizens of this county. Rob Brown built a quanset hut/barn on his property by his house, some years back. He added in a small apartment inside. The he rented it to a LCSD. I used to see the SO car parked there all the time. Years ago, Brown was in a car crash after leaving the old "rock house" with his buddies. Some Men from Mexico who were here working during pear season, supposedly chased them in another car and caused them to crash. One of Brown's buddy's died and since then he hates all people of brown skin. Over the years there has been many incidents of anti-Indian/Mexican incidents involving Brown. He is a GOB from the get! Rumor has it however that all this "throwing" of Rusty Wright "under the bus", may cost Brown re-election next time.

Rob Brown is a loser and not to be trusted...period! I was told that at the jail, by the pay phone in the holding area, his bail bonds service is the only one posted on the wall......How convenient!
 

Rivero, how long will it be before another meeting is set up? Will there be meetings in each community within the county? While good people we know are looking into this we will not at this time outline the situation, you can be assured we have inside and outside folks on this story all day. We were not going to post anything until the full overview was received. We can tell you only to stand by we are working on the details full speed as of this morning and most of the last 2 days. Well Mr. Brown we are blessed that your admonition of never communicating with us again was a lie. Thank you for your response, as well we are happy that you track our site so carefully, all supervisors deny watching this citizens site. Yet we know and have known this is not the case, fell free to join us in our discussions, but be aware we do not stand for political spin or verbal neuance as you so often use. Do not be so alarmed by the need for anonymity Mr. Brown it is only through your lack of understanding the true dangers in the current environment.that you find it unsettling. As well do not be so quick to point out the word usage such as Axe to Grind, as we told you we cut through the fat of typical political verbage as you use and get right to the meat of the matter. This of course we call typical spin, and it does not work here. By the way we suspect you must be aware of a certain officer that is another one who has been put on Admin leave, are you Mr. Brown, that story is breaking now on our site. How long will he be on Admin leave Mr. Brown? What were the discussions concerning this gentlemen going on leave? We have been aware of this situation for 2 days now. We will be watching the BOS on this one as well, by the way there is more to this story then meets the eye. So we urge caution on your part, The BOS was aware of this right Mr. Brown, prior to Admin being assigned, there was discussion right Mr. Brown, do not in the future intimate we are not involved totally in this issue, we are watching it very carefully, and yes we are a huge factor in the movements toward getting the Mitchell regime and their use of Admin leave under control. The front page of the Lake County News has Sgt. Gary Basor, who has just returned from Haiti. He had to take annual leave to do his Search and Rescue aide in Haiti. LCSO has been under a lot of negative press in the last three years and some of the negativity has worn off on the BOS. It is a shame that Mitchell did not use this opportunity to give a public thank you for Basor's humanitarian work. As it comes to Search and Rescue, he is the person you want when a loved one is missing. Thanks for the help Gary, you're are a good person.

I've asked myself over and over again how Lake County could fail so desperately. It all comes down to lack of leadership,no checks and balances and people in power who have lost all touch with reality.

Any mention of the response to the Dinius claim against the County? Or any of the named in the claim? I take it if no response a lawsuit will be filed. Will each person or enity be served individually or ? Will the county provide legal representation to the individuals? Or are they on their own?
 

The BOS forwards it to County Council and then she sends it to the George Hills Co. the county claims and risk Management Services. They have 45 days to respond to the Plaintiff, Dinius according to government tort claim law. They can reject it, accept it or compromise; but they usually reject it...then after it is rejected, Dinius can go forward with his lawsuit in Federal or State Court within six months after a decision by the George Hills Co. but no later.....they are strick rules.
 

Mitchell uses the Admin Leave in two ways. One it stripes the deputy of his badge, gun and gear thus humiliating him and sending a message to the deputies, don't fuck with management.

Two, it gives his managers time to dig up dirt that had nothing to do with the original reason for the admin leave. Then during a meeting, the manager uses that petty issue to get the deputy to in on the original issue. This is a common play with Mitchell's management.

Yes Rivero is on medical leave. The medical issue does not prevent him from standing and talking, but it does prevent him from wrestling with suspects and heaving lifting. Don't worry though, he'll be back to work full time soon (unlike Perdock).

This is Lovelace, we had received information a few days ago indicating that Garzoli, had gotten himself in another bind, this one was reported to concern conflict of interest and potential illegal activities associated with bail bondsmen activities and doing so as an active SO, we did not post on this as we needed to contact several other sources to confirm something was in the wind. We believe now this report is true, and there is an investigation taking place, we do not have information on who is conducting the investigation, but have been assured it is happening. And another hammer blow strikes the corruption boys of the local SO. Does it ever stop.

Ms. Rushing is in the news again, and not for good reason, let us explain, as you know we have been in communication with the supervisors concerning everything from Admin leave to asking Mitchell to step down. Amongst a host of other issues, we will say we have not been pulling any punches and the supervisors continue to refuse to answer even the most basic of questions. Well supervisor Rushing she does not want to communicate with the public anymore unless you provide to her your full name address and phone number. yup that is right we will post below the message you will receive if you e-mail her with an anonymous name for your own safety. So below you see the automated response system she has put in place. So now another supervisor has determined that they no longer want to communicate with anyone unless they have all the full details about you, name address, alternate contact information etc. etc. At this point we do not know what to tell the citizens of this county, They are still trying to close the doors on us. We will keep pushing them open, Now this supervisor feel like everything is just fine in the county no need for anonymity in any fashion, all good cops just come on out and voice your complaints all good citizens there is nothing to fear there are no attacks on your credibility by the SO, there are no concerns at all trust her nothing will happen to you, come right out in the open. Everything is just fine in the county. Here then is the automated message you now get from those whom you pay their salary.

Indeed Brown and now Rushing look like such small little children, it is interesting to see how when they are presented with a set of defined questions to which they are not allowed to wiggle out of it, they become defensive, the standards set for those of the BOS are so low. These lightweights could not stand with the higher end public officials who manage the local governments of many cities and county's in this state. We have in this county small players who are in over their heads when the citizens start to bring them to task, and pin them dowm. It is sad but true we have placed people in power who are way over their heads.
 

Oh by the way we forgot to mention Rushings little attempt to stop receiving the citizens e-mails did not work we were able to by-pass her stop-gap no problem and all mail was delivered. At some point in time I guess the supervisors will have to just stop receiving all communications from the citizens. What a ahame. And to think it looks like Rushing will win her election by default, as only Gary is running aganist, so we have a worse and terrible as a choice of two people.
