I have been out of town, to a more saner place, and would like to know if "da Sheriff" ever answered the questions put to him by "the committee">Larsen etal I have looked at all the back issues of the R.Bee and didn't see anything. If they have been published, can someone tell me where to find the answers.

thus far the homicides have been people with some questionable life choices check their job status. I cringe when I see that some of the frequent flyers on the sheriff site are IHSS worker, Good Lord they have a ready made medication chest at their fingertips. What an amazing set of post's, let's see if I have this right, IHSS workers who help the elderly suck and are only drug takers Poor people suck, people should continue to kill each other, as it gets rid of them, someone is an idiot, all cops are great people and you should walk their walk cause you don't know. Lovelace (two posts up) likes to label isolated incidents into everyone and everything, and by his labeling and provoking standard, is causing this blog to fail. I really wish you would cough up some dirt on Mitchell, like you claim to have, because I am sick up and fed with your slanderous bullshit.

He had been one of Mitchell's cronies for a number of years. Mitchell protected him when he worked for the Lake County Sheriff's Dept. McMahon will do whatever he can to protect Mitchell since Mitchell didn't fire him when he should have (for committing a crime).

Just in The federal goverment DEA has been ordered by the 9th district court to return 200,000 dollars to Scott Fell, money which was taken from him in a LAPD dispensary raid. The local police decided they would forward the money to the feds, knowing they would receive it back under the table from the feds. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh it didn''t work. The tide has turned and the ability of the local sheriffs and law enforcement to steal with the hopes of a return on their theft and getting part of the take is over. Scott has lived in lake county as the Record Bee article states and had a dispensary in Ukiah. Scott you may remember and as the article points out was also attacked by the DEA in the most recent local raid aided by our local Sheriffs a few months ago in Upper Lake. Hmmmmmmmmm interesting connections huh.

Here's the other part of the point, for all you jabbering LE folks out their. You presume the people you call activist or pot dispensary folks or local growers don't know what they are talking about or doing. Well what you fail to see, is these are real smart sharp folks, and frankly you finger pointers don't have the intelligence or understanding to stay with them. It's good that you so under estimate these folks in this way, because you keep getting your ass handed to you, and here is another example of it.

So AGAIN to the local sheriff and LE folks and the DA, back off, the time has come, not only in the field of pot, but in the other aspects of your activities which are being brought into focus. Your losing, you will lose and it's time to change your focus and direction. Otherwise you will keep getting it handed to you, and it only diminishes your position even more. For those that wish to comment on this, if you don't do it with some intelligence, and a lack of cuss words, that is with some sense of understanding and communication, you will be deleted, this blog is working so well and is so successful that we cannot let it be diluted by such trival postings.

Good morning all, looks like we had a busy night of the continued attempt to bog down this site. Let's repeat a couple of important points, if you believe a post of yours has been deleted unfairly, then you only have to e-mail the administrator of which that address is provided on this website, and a copy can be provided. Now be aware that all posts deleted are archived under a couple of headings, one is the heading LE or those supporting LE, for example there was a post recently which used the word nigger many times as the post was supporting the local LE position, it was either a cop or a supporter. Thus it is archived under that heading, other headings are the citizens postings. If your language or other presentation is not in sync with the subject matter of this blog it to is archived. All these posts can be reveled in due time. For those that think their post should be re-posted request it if you think it was such a intelligent and important post. For example the post mentioned above, which as well talked about hanging niggers etc etc. Are you proud of that, and if so, you can request a copy of it. Local LE do you support that post, is that what you are complaining about? Step up to the plate and say so. We know what you are attempting to do, it is childish and small, you must support your positions through good communications presentations. Remember all post deleted or not are being archived, and will be presented to the public in due time, ask your self do I want to stand behind this list of postings as an LE officer or supporter of the LE. If you really do then you have to accept the consequences it is that simple. Also all of you should know that the Lovelace name represents a group of people, you have not come close in attempting to guess the names of this group of concerned citizens. Last although of course this will be denied this is a very very very secure site for those posting. We placed great importance in that aspect of creating this, and the individual who assisted is quite adept in this regard.

To those wanting to read the Record Bee article but cannot find it on the web or get a copy of the paper. It in essence describes the 9th district court ruling, which requires the feds to return 200,000 dollars to Scott Fell, a dispensary operator who lived in Lake County had a dispensary in Ukiah and in the LA area. The local LE in LA had hoped by turning over the money to the feds, they would end up getting a good portion of it back in their coffers, basicly stealing, and as all of you know we have those same types of issues here locally. Actually we should say this type of thing is now the norm throughout our state and country as a whole.

By the way just as an update our group is currently working on communications with other agencies of various types to assist us in the further development of this ongoing process. For all supporting this site and our attempt to give the county back to its citizens we thank for your support and help.

By that description, is this what you would support as positive communication in our relationship between the citizens and the local LE. Are we really that menacing? Or is fear driving your posting? If it is fear, then that will always present itself as anger, think for a minute is what we are going to accomplish by our efforts such a terrible thing? 2009 10:23 AM Surely you don't think this is the only avenue to list grievances, share experiences, evidence, ect. This is a gate way in which you don't have a clue or a key. If you and the rest of LE had nothing to hide in your comings and goings you wouldn't have to worry about the occasional arrow. To Anonymous post Oct. 26 11.09 you have hit the nail on the head in regards to the complaining concerning posts that are removed and your overview of th LE concerns about the arrows flying their way. We have already pointed out that this blog will maintain some sense of order and discipline so that good communications is the result. If the Anonymous poster of Oct 26 10:23 wants to re-post something he thought was solid communications and offered the opportunity for open discussion vs name calling and ragging on this blog simply because he does not like it, then do it. And let's see what you post. These blogs always no matter who manages them get accused of the stand-by free-speech being taken away line. But if you look at the 10;23 post it says nothing but you guys are just gossiping and it is all terrible, etc. etc. To the 10:23 lets try something just give us a few things that you think need to be fixed in the local LE, talk for a moment about Rodney, give us something that tells us you have a deeper and open view of the problems that exist with LE currently. Or is everything just wonderful? No problems just keep going status Quo. Give us your thoughts on the posters that have been placing racial crap of a terrible nature we have had to remove, give us your thoughts on the posters that just put up silly information like how to bake a chicken pot pie, is that you, or do you agree with doing that. Your not going to take down this blog, and it is going to be an integral part of the election and our continued efforts to correct the LE situation which currently exists in our county. Period. Now can you communicate with us or not. Is this site really safe or is it the DA & SO's way to suck people in as I was told? I think not! I am a well known, creditable person who's family was victimized by the SO, LPPD, DA's offices. Because of the heat put on DA, LE in LC after the Dinius affair, our family has finally been left alone. I have proof and am willing to talk to the FBI or DOJ but only to them. I want to know when they will be doing interviews. Our story will show corruption at the DA/DA investigaters office, a judge, CHP, LCSO dispatch, LCSO, LPPD, DMV (Sacto). If this site is for real and safe, then one thing I want to tell any LE reading this blog: Think long and hard about what you have said and done in the past to the good people of LC. Who you offended when you should have kept your mouth shut and just done your job. Ask yourselves: who you had a "hard on" for just because they had more than you! You and your LE buddies got a laugh over harrassing people, Right? Well if this site is for real then FEAR because I(we) have not forgotten what was fun and games to you. Yes. Thanks for the post Oct. 26 4:41, rest assured this site is for real, rest assured that this is going to provide the means and method for your information. We do not want to be so secretive about our approach and methods and what is going to be employed in the future, but it is necessary and a critical aspect of how we will effect and create the changes in our county that are so important, and give it back to the citizens and the community. We to would want to tell our identities, however in due time you will see why it was better to remain under cover for a while. We as well would love to know who you and others that have posted are. But of course we understand the reason for holding back right now. That smile on our faces can wait, and will be sweeter for the waiting. We have already seen effects that have come from our efforts, you have mentioned them above, and that is the humble and rather nice presentation which some LE are showing. We understand that these efforts have caused the local LE to step back, they now know that any negative activity on their part will be brought to light, names will be taken and there will be consequences. Meetings have been held in the past several days with various individuals, charting the next phases of this process, it is good to have you aboard, please keep watching hold your information as you feel you need to, our time and the peoples time will come.

Maybe my interaction (with LCSO, DA, LC Judges, and Public Defender)was minuscule compared to other matters involving victimization by the aforementioned agencies. I'm told to "move on", "get over it", and so on. If one victim can get them to eat it big, I'd be a pretty happy camper.

Well this is my first time on this page, and I have looked at all the postings from the very beginning, you guys have postings from former LE like the Ringen post and many others currently working inside the DA and sheriff's office, nailing Mitchell and the corruption in the system, this is just my two cents but in the long run, I think the local LE and their bosses are in big trouble, I have been hearing alot on the streets lately concerning this blog, so that's why I went on here. This will be interesting to watch. Good luck, and by the way I was in law enforcement for over 15 years, and I in my few years up here have never seen such a dis-functional spinning LE organization.
 

Question? Why and by what means does Garzoli who went Bankrupt in 2002 have over 125,000 dollars or more worth of toys, just take a look when you see him down at the track, were talking haulers atv's car's you name it. How does that happen on a sheriff's salary and a BK a few years ago.

Have you ever reported a violent crime against you to the sheriff, only to have them laugh in your face and the DA prosecute the perpetrator not even half heartedly? It's pretty humiliating. Get over it? Don't minimize my experience of being abused. You're probably one of those men who feel women deserve it!!
 

listen 11:38 post don't let the ignorance of the LE posters get to you, many on here have the same concerns, namely that the sheriff and DA push alot of things under the rug. Post 10:37 you are right. I have noticed LPPD has really turn it self around and is watching their behaivor. They use to do nothing more than roust drunks in the bars on Fir & Sat nights constantly walking thur to see who was inside. Since the Dinius thing that all stopped! I observed a small fight outside a local bar one night and before the LPPD could arrive, a SO rolled up. He began talking to the people involved and at one point was (for no reason I could see) rude to to a woman that was standing there. I laughed out loud as she told this SO to mind his own business and let LPPD handle Lakeport's problems. This just shows you how the public has lost it's respect for LCSO. I still want to know what happened to Ryan Williams. The paper said he killed himself during a traffic stop but a close family friend claims he was shot three time by the SO.
 

I agree as well with both the 10:37 post and 11:56 post, LPPD has not received to much negative reporting as of late. None the less we need to keep an out on all agencies, and they need to get use to it, they all are public servants and it is important they understand who they report to. LCSO is really under the microscope and of course for good reason. it does seems like the SO is feeling the heat, and have recognized that they are being watched by the citizens of this county, this is causing them anger bu the old ways are done, and they simply have to understand that.
 

I don't know the Ryan Williams story, not sure if anyone else has information on that, if you do give it a post let's see what it might be about.

They don't seem to be able to make much of a case for them self's. Maybe Pappa Hopkins and grand daddy Mitchell told the kids they have to stay away from those bad kids on those web-pages.
 

Ryan was a victim of his own hands, rumor are always misguided. Noone in uniform took him out, he ended the chase and took himself out of the equasion plain and simple, pinning it on LE is just another way for the misguided to blame it on the ones who had to try and keep the comminity safe from him.
 

I agree with post 8:57, However the question at this point that needs to be addressed, is not the circumstances surrounding the details of his death, but the overall condition that exists in the LE, that causes the citizens to suspect their activities and motivations. Therefore when under the non-leadership of Mitchell the public becomes less and less trusting of the force as a whole this is what you get. There are many many small communities whose LE has not through their own actions and attitudes created such a seperation between themselves and the public. The rift is deep and wide in this county and that is what needs to be corrected, then this type of accusation would not happen.
 

Anyone with any information on an incident on Elk Mountain Rd. yesterday at appox. 6:00 pm, women being handcuffed and placed in a sheriffs car just a block past the forest service station. 2 units were there and a ambulance. As we drove past they were trying to put her in the back of one of the squad cars (sheriff). However there isn't any arrest posting on the sheriff page, what happened to her? Not that there is any foul play but in our current desire to post all happenings arrest etc. we witnes,s just wanted to throw this out there to the community to see if anyone has any information. And as well to remind local LE that in our new world of accountability and citizens watch your activities are being watched very closely.
 

handcuffs do not an arrest make.........................cuffs are for officer protection and to keep the person from running off. if you only had a scanner you too would know about the activites going on on Elk MT RD.
 

To poster Oct 28 8:57, I know what the paper said but I followed the story via topix and those bloggers. Ryan's sisters best friend kept blogging on and on about how he had been shot three times. There were others that also posted about hearing three shots that night. Ryan was the grandson of Sheriff Roxson(ret). One story was that when Ryan fired the shot to kill himself, the SO's involved believed that he was firing at them and he/they shot back but Ryan was already deceased. I am not pointing a finger at the SO on this one but I believe that the public has the right to know what took place, not to place blame but to show that the SO is being up front with everything they do.
 

To post 12:50 as you should have noted, I indicated there was no suspicion of foul play, only an inquiry of what may have happened. This is the type of thing we will do when the organization and implementation of a true citizens oversight group is in place. That having been said we would also want to have a location for scanner operation and citizens on watch day and night with the scanner systems etc. This will all come about in due time.

To post 8:57 you make a very good point, perhaps it would be true that Ryan shot himself, and the officers thinking they were being shot at would return fire. Not reveling this information as innocent as it would be on the officers part to return fire, would be wrong, complete transparency is essential. Or perhaps to cover up any questions they would not say anything as then the idea of him not being dead with his own shot, he then was shot as described and then died. Interesting way to look at it, and exactly the type of questions and inquiry that should be taking place.

Are the video's and recordings of traffic stops or officer inerviews available to the public after a certain period of time? Maybe available after a case is closed for example. This type of information might help answer questions that we have.
 

for all of your questions about videos and the so the new cars that they have now have video cameras in them and they are putting them in all the cars so the officers are taped.This is to protect the officers so the fellons that shoot themself have a copy to show the familes the officer didnt do it.

You know there is alot that can be pointed out concerning a person and situation without all the childish banter, in fact the post concerning Ryan was a clean solid post, respond in the same manner you would be amazed by the common ground that can be established.
 

friends and family of career bad guys and gals are always in denial of what their loved one was involved in,accountability starts early in childhood and if a kid is not taught and lives by that, the community suffers for the lawlessness, but there are good parents who have a wayward child and My hearts go out to those some kids are hell bent for distruction and nothing stops them short of being arrested and serving time in jailor prison. I did not post how Ryan died to upset anyone just posting the account, as for who heard shots or wwho heard this or that, the ones who know how it happened were the ones there not any of us, sometimes we only have the newspaper to get an account, don't take any anti law bloggers word, it is going to be one sided.

That's a good post 7:03, but don't disparage all blogs and the motivations for them. Not all blogs are "anti law". We talk about openess, and transparency in all aspects of the LE community relationship. In fact no one here is anti law, but the correct open and fair application the enforcement system is essential. Open and frank discussion can go a long way. The people on here have opened eyes and changed the course our county is going in, they are to be applauded, for those that simply want to see with one way vision on a two way highway, remember this, if you win the debate you have lost the opportunity to learn. We have big issues in LE in this county and no amount of denial is going to change that fact. period. What will change it is action, and a coordinated effort of the citizens.

This guy post 5:17 is amazing, all bloggers have booking photo's, I guess they will leave the post up as he was actually able to write it without, his usual childish rantings cussing and otherwise ignorant approach. So let's use the same comparison idea for this post. Cops in this county and the state as well as the country have 3 times the alcohol abuse as the general public, and 4 times the wife beating rate. So let's see that means all cops are drunk/wife beaters, there oh I see how it works, gosh what a great way to communicate, you are sharp as a tack.

By the way thanks for the update on the Elk Mountain Rd question, that is the type of public and citizen communication we want to bring back, and take away the Monarchy of the Hopkins/Mitchell regime, thank god the elections are coming.

While I appreciate and agree with a place to post thoughts and opinions regarding Rod and Jon, aka God and Jesus, I think the biggest statement will come next year when both are voted out (or not). If we try to remove them from office at this point, you can bet that it will get delayed at least until the next election.

I know of someone who wanted to launch a valid, local investigation into the activities of both of these gentlemen, as well as, Dave Geck, Corey Paulich and his partner. This person had respectability and civil investigative experience but when he volunteered to look into three of Lake County's elected officials his request was dismissed by three District Supervisors. I'd love to say who it was, but I better get his permission first.
 

With 20 or so raids in a day, an inescapable picture of abusive pattern and practice emerges Just the sort of stage setting which is needed for a CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT to be developed. Do any of us doubt that the financial resources to ante up for that game could be brought into play?

Not only is this happening in lake county but across the nation, its time to stop this madness, by the way, why were the two sheriffs cars parked at the hill prior to the recent DEA raid on Tom Carter. I bet that is not in Mitchells report on the Dinus trial, nor any where to be found huh?
 

Some of you may already have this information, however I will pass it on to all of you for those that havent. First of all as you are aware, there was a DEA raid several weeks ago in upper lake. Part of the story was in regards to an "informant" who decided to roll over on some people the informants name is. SHAWN JONES. It is suspected Mr. Jones may be somewhere in the Redding area, it is also rumored that he is running another possible growing operation up there, that's right, and this was the DEA's big operative. It is important that anyone who has information as to his whereabouts and his activities, get that information up on this thread. This is a guy who spun the DEA a tall tale of international intrique and drug cartels. It of course turned out not to be total bogus, so when the DEA and their goose stepping creeps came into town, they expected much more then they got, and of course were not to happy with the minor results of their efforts.

There is connectivity to the Sheriffs office and this raid, and it appears someone may have a vendeta out for Tom Carter. The inside rub of this will come out in due time I suspect. I think the Sheriffs office and the DA's office are and have been out to take people out whom they deem have to much information concerning the internal goings on in their respective organizations. In a further update, the DEA came back into town, and took private property from one of the individuals whom was caught up in the small time raid the DEA conducted as mentioned above. We need to be sure that when ever anyone has knowledge of the DEA coming into our area, we get the word out and track their activities as much as possible.
 

Good afternoon citizens. I have some news of interest just obtained from a reliably source. The Lake County Sheriff Union (DAS) has just been ordered to pay now fired, Deputy Derek Navarro 7,000.00 dollars to cover his attorney fees for his pending sexual intercourse case with a fourteen year old school girl and her friend. Don’t believe, 4th floor of the courthouse. Ask for the superior court clerk and obtain this public document for yourself.

A deputy who Rodney Mitchell, placed as the Middletown school cop just prior to the discovery of these crimes. This deputy is alleged to have a years worth of sex with this little girl and her girlfriend. As I heard it, the two had been given marijuana to smoke and handcuffed together while this cop screwed them over and over.

Shame, shame, shame, this DSA. Also this same DSA is supposedly getting ready to publish as letter to you, the public saying they are great, happy, and nothings wrong within their department. This is about the "John Gray/Eric Joaquin" case.I wonder if the officers who processed this crime scene would feel the same if it was one of their loved ones involved. I wonder what they did "exactly" while they were there all day, there was no signs of any finger printing done, the bedding was left there and they sure didn't look very good for evidence. One of the first blogs i read when this first hit the news made reference to a "law enforcement type" as saying ""There's two less scum-bags we have to worry about" I can't tell you how much that statement "really" says just how much of an investigation is going to occur, "NONE". Hopkins probably hasn't even read the whole discovery, I'm sure he could care less about it. He looks at this as another notch under his belt. I have lived in this county for 12yrs now and what i heard when first moving up here has come true.
 

Scott Feil and Dave Garzoli shared the same helicopter. They shared the cost of the delivery and return of that helicopter. Does that mean the DEA grant paid some of the Feil helicopter lessons? The same DEA who arrested Feil and still won't let him out of jail? Up until the crash Feil was the only person who knew Garzoli was flying the helicopter(on a DEA grant!)
 

Scott feil, the same who was busted in the upperlake dea raid of a few months ago? Isn't that interesting. My my what are the connections, can't wait for the elections. My concern is that it will just be Hopkins and Mitchell losing the elections, but there needs to be more, as in investigation and punishment for these saps!!!

I am retired LCSO Sergeant Kip Ringen. I retired honorably on April 15, 2009, after 30 years in law enforcement, 27 of those years at Lake County S.O. (I was here while Rodney was rinsing produce in Sacramento)
First, yes, I was placed on administrative leave four (4) hours after informing Capt. Russ Perdock and Lt. Cecil Brown about discrimination and racial slurs directed towards Frank Rivero. These actions and comments were made by other deputies about Frank.
Secondly, I initially considered running for Sheriff myself, but I believed Frank was the best candidate to protect the citizens of Lake County and lead the Sheriff's Dept. in a new and positive direction. So, as soon as I learned Frank Rivero was running for Sheriff, I immediately placed my support behind him.
On August 5th, I posted on Frank's facebook that I supported his candidacy. About an hour and a half (1 1/2) later I received a call from the D.A.'s office. I was told that I could not stop by the investigator's office any longer. I was told that they did not want it to look like the D.A. was supporting Frank.
Thirdly, Frank is absolutely correct. The positions of child abuse detective and elder abuse detective (which are grant funded) have been vacant for years. Children and seniors are the most vulnerable citizens in our society. I find it appalling Mitchell has left these positions unstaffed for so many years.
I dedicated 27 years to the citizens of Lake County. I would still be serving the county if not for Mitchell's mismanagement of the department.
As for "OU812," quit hiding behind the keyboard. Have some courage and put your name out there, I did.
 

Dave Brown DID do an investigation concerning racial profiling, racial remarks and discrimination within the Sheriff's Dept.
Dave Brown had been a D.A. investigator for this county and retired about 8 or 10 years ago. Since then he has been hired by the county, on a contractual basis, to do investigations for the courts and county counsel.
The Board of Supervisors were informed of the problems within the department concerning racial profiling and discrimination and ordered an investigation. Anita Grant, the head of County Counsel, directed Dave Brown to investigate.
Dave Brown interviewed many S.O. employees, including Mitchell. Once the investigation was completed, it was promptly buried.
The victims of the racial profiling have hired attorneys and are preparing to sue the county and the Sheriff's Dept. This is going to cost you, the taxpayer, millions of dollars.
Sheriff Mitchell says he wants transparency. Well then, why does he not post this on his web page? Call him and ask him for the information. I bet he will not give it to you. I bet he will say that he can't talk about ongoing investigations or litigation.
Call your county supervisor and ask them about it. Call Denise Rushing directly since she was the Chairman of the Board at the time the investigation was ordered. Call Anita Grant at the county counsels office and ask her.
As I stated before, this is going to cost you, the taxpayer, millions of dollars. Just another example of how Mitchell has failed to run the department properly.

Spend an hour and scan the released information. Check out pages 16 & 17 of 27 (the Slabaugh Secramento investigation) quoting Calif. law Specifically section T-14 which in effect says that Perdock must be held accountable every bit as much as Dinus was. It clearly states Perdocks responcibility to proceed at a safe spped based on weather and visability. As I have said before, Mitchell isn'[t as culpable as Hopkins in this mess. The DA makes the decisiion as to who gets charged and for what.

Sometimes we have to keep BEATING THE DEAD HORSE until everyone gets so sick of it that they bury that dead horse: in this case we need to bury both Hopkins and Mitchell in the upcoming election. That election is a year away and we can't let this thing just die a natural death or life will go on as usual in Lake Co. Good ol boyz will run things from the back room. What is really a shame is that fully half of the current Deputies know what is rotton but will not speak up for fear of reprisals from Mitchell and Co. What we need is one more qualified and non-contraversial person to step up and run for office of Sheriff. That way there would be a run-off and we could pick from the best. Mitchell would not be in that run off IMHO
 

By the way the Freedom of information act invoked to request information, is FOIA, so as to not confuse anyone. It was listed as FOIC. Also based on the troubles effecting the Sheriffs dept. and the DA, along with the investigative work going on by a lot of different entities in the county, it would be nice to think that both Mitchell and Hopkins will eventually step down prior to the election. Depends on how big their ego is I think. But I also think prior to the election more individuals will step up to the plate and throw their hat in the ring, as was mentioned in the above post 9:10.
 

The name Garzoli keeps getting brought, I have heard a lot concerning him, all from the concerned county citizens. How come no LE folks touch that one, never responding to the concerns, not to mention how come with the exception of a few brave souls, the local LE run for cover when Garzoli, Mitchell or Hopkins are mentioned, never defending them, but never stepping up to say there are problems with these guys? Scared, ignorant, what is it? Your little world isn't perfect we know that, why not step up to the plate and take a stand?

I don't think they're scared or ignorant. Most have families, bills, a mortgage pay. They are walking in tough shoes and shouldn't put themselve in harms way. We, the citizens must vote in a better life for all.

those from LE who do not come forward are not cowards, they have more than themselves to think about and I totally get that, especially those who have too many years behind their badge to screw up their own retirement, the young ones.....have no history with the ones mentions they just are up and coming, the ones I have met are very on tract just trying to do their jobs.
 

I do agree with both posts 9:26 and post 10:01, however I think that the fact they have families, bills, and a mortgage, does make them scared, i.e. scared of putting that in jeopardy, or as 10:01 put it putting themselves in harms way. What a shame that the poor leadership of Mitchell and Hopkins has placed these otherwise decent people in such dire straights. For those cops who joined in the corruption along with Mitchell and Hopkins, those that did not must be pretty angry at them. Some are ignorant, I think, I mean the fact of the matter is you are dealing with a somewhat motley group of people. As another post indicated 4 times the wife abuse rate, and 3 times the alcohol abuse rate as the general population. By the way I to would like to see those folks who have inside information on The likes of Garzoli, Mitchell and Hopkins, talk to the citizens of this county, do on this site anonymous or as you choose, we are concerned about those of you who have to live with these types of fellow workers, and we wish it would be better for you. But it will be in due time.

In a job I had at one time that paid darn good I caught the MGR accepting a shipment of goods that was meant for a neighboring store,I was Rec. Mgr I called it to His attention, I was told JUST KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT we can use it to cover our losses. I did not KEEP MY MOUTH SHUT, unfortunately for Me when I reported the theft to His Boss, it went NOWHERE because little did I know THEY WERE BEST BUDS. I needed the job to support My family.
I did what was right as an honest person, My life was hell as the Boss had many co workers who were in His circle. My life was Hell to say the least, I did not want to be known as One of His Buds.

Would I do it again if I had the chance YOU BET YOU @$$ I would. Later I found out that the bosses bosses boss found out about the thefts, the MGR was fired, he had 20 years with the company.

My thought is Eventually Good Triumphs as Evil is exposed.
 

It is better to be honest! When it comes to corruption, double dipping, and insurance fraud and hurting others in the process, it's of moral obligation to do what is right! I too have to keep my mouth shut, I feel like I am lying by not telling the close folks around me the real reason I got laid off, but its in process and soon out there. Scarry!

To post 1:53 i.e. pressing down on a person and naming him is not the right way. Well first of all if he is throwing his hat in the ring, then in fact it is the correct approach. This is not La La land, this is the reality of the condition of the LE in our county. We do not and can not allow a "same as Mitchell" "Same as Hopkins" player in to simply take their place. And as you can see from post 11:05 Mr. Andrews and of course many others have a lot to account for. There are a lot of excellent "squared away" cops out there, and one of them will, we hope, step up to the plate and run in our county. Many officers currently working in our county want so badly for Mitchell and Hopkins to be out of circulation they can taste it. You must realize that the LE talks among themselves all the time, and the subject of conversation is not how wonderful Mitchell and Hopkins are, it is about how these two corrupt individuals have destroyed their working conditions, given them a bad name, and hurt terribly the reputation of the local LE. These are not bully tactics but fair reporting of the truth. Thanks to post 11:05 for being honest and up-front and hopefully in the long run none will have to suffer in silence anymore.

Either way, such is the case in many domestic violence/abuse situations. And yes, I'm sure the trauma and pain continues to haunt the family members with or without the perpetrator. No wonder LE says they're "experts" when it comes to domestic violence.

To post 2:08, that's a very interesting idea, they do have a union, in fact what the heck is the union heads position? But back to the no confidence type vote, I wonder if it is in the bylaws, or what the legality/conditions need to be? It would seem to me that those that would vote no confidence, would want to know it was a lock, so they would not be victimized by their vote if it didn't work. I know it would be a described hidden vote so no one is suppose to know who voted what, however they would be scared someone {Mitchell;Hopkins} would find a way to see who voted what. However it would be hard to believe that a no confidence couldn't pass, everything indicates it would pass by a landside. Does anybody else know if a process like that could even happen?

Another interesting fact which needs to be explored. Police as a whole have 3 times the alcohol abuse rate as the general population. Yet there are virtually NO DUI's written on LE. There is a secret passage they must give each other, yet at the same time get supported with huge money from the likes of MADD. So rotten and corrupt is MADD that a new group has formed called DAMM "Drivers against mad mothers. Just another example of the citizens need to take back their control in local LE issues and direction.
 

The question is often ask of LE in training classes, "In your official capacity, who or what do you represent?"
It's an important question. In the Dynamic of Character, you learn that our definition of integrity is "being who you represent yourself to be." If that's true, then it's important to know who or what we represent.

When I ask the question, I get responses like, "We represent the law" or "we represent the government" or "we represent the Police Department or Sheriff's Office" or "we represent the Constitution."

Usually someone will say, "We represent the people." An important point. In the American system of government, we do represent the people.

Occasionally, someone in the audience will say, "We also represent ourselves!"

Not so fast. When you become a law enforcement officer, the one thing you cease to represent is yourself! Your goals, your agenda, your opinions, and your ego are irrelevant to the accomplishment of the police mission. And the moment you start thinking that you do represent yourself is the moment you set yourself up for an ethical failure.

You can imagine the response I get from officers when I make this statement. I've had some get up and walk out of the room at this point! "What do you mean I don't represent myself? What do you mean my ego is irrelevant?"

SOUNDS LIKE OUR LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT FOLKS DIDN'T GET THIS TRAINING
 

We should have Mitchell and Hopkins repeat the 5th paragraph 100 times while sitting in the corner with a dunce cap on, and the last sentence 100 times while heading out of the county. let's see what is that last line:

I have read this Blog from top to bottom. All I can say is 99% of what is here is bullshit. This is not the LCSO I remember. I know many of these deputies personally. They are mostly good guys. And there are some turds there too. From what I know Rod needs to get his house on order. He too is a good guy who but not perfect. Wow! I can see that some citizens of lake county do not havs much faith with the local LE. You must remember when a Sheriff,Police chief and or president of the united states takes over a command they inherit the pre-existing problems as well. They dont just go away. There are times when we must crush through the hard shell of ignorance, and the difficult paridigms the local LE is stuck in. As we all can tell by their postings, they are in serious denial, you must at times speak their language, or they can't understand, I am serious about the de-programming, it will be necessary to change the entire thought structure with the local LE. You may think some of the postings are to harsh, but there are times when they must be smacked around a bit or you can't get their attention. I suspect too many people underestimate the difficult task that lies ahead with the total disfunctional nature of the sheriffs and DA's organization. Think twice before you lighten up on them, these are not the sharpest sticks in the wood pile by any stretch. Needing to fix the problems will entail a whole scale disenagration of the current structure and personnal within the two departments, street cops as well as management. In due time as more and more information comes to light you will see why. Do not think for a moment that there is not much much more deception and corruption that is still yet to be realeased, and when it comes to bear, you will think the verbal attacking was far to light. A great majority of the issue as well is that the local LE really does think this movement of the citizens is just a bunch of stupid pot heads, they fail to or cannot recognize that the sharpest quickest thinkers and multi-tasking people are those so called stupid pot heads. Most of the LE wouldn't stand a chance in a verbal debate with these people. Again do not underestimate the low low level of performace and acceptable practices that surround the local LE people and their organization. Should you do so, you will risk losing the elections as well as this opportunity for change.

I have looked at all the postings from the very beginning, you guys have postings from former LE like the Ringen post and many others currently working inside the DA and sheriff's office, nailing Mitchell and the corruption in the system, this is just my two cents but in the long run, I think the local LE and their bosses are in big trouble, I have been hearing alot on the streets lately concerning this blog, so that's why I went on here. This will be interesting to watch. Good luck, and by the way I was in law enforcement for over 15 years, and I in my few years up here have never seen such a dis-functional spinning LE organization. The organization I was with, was for the citizens and we worked in concert with them not as enemies. And believe me the local citizens of this county are a lot sharper then where I was. My suggestion to the folks posting here, is keep it up, and to the Local LE, you need to think twice about what your upper management has done to you.

I'm thinking that since Mitchell, as you say, "He has thrown both Hopkins and his boy Perdock and other unders the bus big time", that possibly, just possibly he IS seeing the light and in fact indicating his lack of support for both Hopkins and Perdock's actions, including others? Yes, he kept quiet until now but it sounds reasonable that his lips were sealed leagally. Don't get me wrong, I'll be the first to say that I want things corrected and maybe I'm reaching but I just can't see myself voting for Rivero. If I had to vote today, I'd be forced to vote for Mitchell. PLEASE, ANYONE OUT THERE THAT IS QUALIFIED TO RUN?
 

Well there are a lot of rumors floating out there right now, as the condition is ripe for a couple of sharp guys to step up to the plate, and I think that will happen in due time. None the less, saying your going to vote for Mitchell is like saying you'll take Hitler over Stalin. Let's not go there. Mitchell is seeing the light but its the light that says save your ass. As time goes on you will see Hopkins fire back, and the match will be a bloody one for sure. This isn't the only aspect of Mitchell that is a problem for him, everything from infidelity's (read older postings)to lying, to various forms of ass covering are on the table for him, no way he can overcome this, both he and Hopkins should step down and do it now.
 

It's hard to tell if Mitchell's decision to run again is a threat or a delusion. What did that have to do with the debriefing? A simple yes or no would have been enough. There is plenty of time ahead to campaign.

I'm a busines man from neighboring Sonoma County and I had an experience with officer Lewis when I moved to Lake County,that make me angry still today.Officer Lewis aggressively approached a lady friend and I when wee were leaving Konocti one evening,in the parking lot,and asked her if she had a sister,named so & so.My Lady friend told him something like she's not going to tell him anything.He seemed aggitated and agressive and followed us up the road to my house in the Riviera.Just a mile or so away.When I pulled up to my house he had followed us and I got out and he agressivly approached us again demanding to know who my Friend was and if she had a Sister named so & so.I told him to please leave my property,unlkess he had reason for being there.He ignored me and grabbed my Lady Friend by the wrist,and again asked her the question.When I told him to let go of her and tried pulling his hand off her he came at me saying I can do whatever I want,and then we tussled and he aressted both of us for assalting him?Another officer arrived and they literaly ramsacked my house .Took all my guns,and found 1 small bud of pot to charge Me with?After going to court with an attorney I got my guns back except 1.A double barrel Ithica 10 gauge shotgun worth over $4000 120 years old,.They said they couldn't find it .It was listed in the things taken from my home but got lost in their eveidence locker.I tried to for years get it back and to this day they have never FOUND IT?Some corrupt officer got my Grandfathers Ithica double barrel shotgun,and i have never been able to get it back.They palyed a game with me and took me to the evidence locked and it just wasn't there???So I got a valuable family heirloom stolen by these low lifes and there';s nothing I can do now to get it back.I tell my friends in Sonoma,that this Sherrifs Dept is like being in the DEEP SOUTH I GUESS.
 

To 3:53PM ~~ Sorry about you losing your rifle. The Petaluma Police are also notorious for stealing when searching a house. They took an antique, refurbished slot machine (old and very expensive from Tahoe)and my grandfather's gun. Funny it wasn't on their list of items retrieved and no one knew anything. Never did get those items back either.

I have to tell you from experience that Lewis is a dick. When I contacted LCSO regarding a domestic violence situation, he was SO intimidating and rude (not understanding or compassionate at all), that I had to request another officer handle it. Had LCSO not complied, I never would have continued with the report. He was downright abusive to me.

Hey, does anybody on this blog have information on officer Lewis? I have a friend who is out of town, he mentioned a few things along these lines. I'll have to touch bases when he gets back. Now I can see this coming,somebody with LE is going to post about the perfect guy Mr. lewis is, and he has children too. Seems like his peers are really convicting him through defense more then the posters of the information. This is simply a perfect example of citizen oversight, bringing information out to be sure if there is a problem it get's exposed. That's the way I see it.

Misinformation is being leaked by LCSO Detective Tom Andrews about Frank Rivero to his (Andrews’) girlfriend, Haley Ostern. Tom Andrews is attempting to politically sabotage Rivero. Haley recently contacted Rivero through his facebook page and accused him of losing a good case. She said the DA had to drop the case because of Rivero. Haley’s allegation was untrue, but that’s not as important as what follows here:

Haley neglected to say where she got the information. Rivero, who keeps close tabs on the Good Old Boys, asked her if she was Detective Andrews “Friend.” After additional prodding by Rivero, Haley fessed up. Haley wrote to Rivero, “Yes, I am a friend of Tom's. But he generally does not talk about work outside of the work place. Let’s see, “He GENERALLY does not talk about work outside of the work place?” Tom, isn’t it inappropriate to release misinformation about a criminal investigations? Last time you were kicked out of detectives for failing to respond to you’re on call duties. Now you’re releasing information to the girlfriend in order to smear a colleague.

Tommy, what happened to the smack you shared with your recruits about what a shit hole the LCSO was, the racial profiling, and Mitchell’s unfair treatment of you. Oh, that was before you were re-promoted / re-GOBed.

My first thought after reading your post, having just read a newpaper article on the same, is why did the DEA allow so much time to pass if they really believed a crime was being committed? They began their investigation in 2002 yet waited until 2009 to make their move. How many grow seasons did they allow? The paper indicated real estate including motels would be confinscated. Did they purposely wait all this time to increase the valve of their take? It almost sounds like they closed their eyes until the time was right and their take would be huge. I've read numerous other articles whereby the bust are immediate. What's up with this case?

Regarding Tom Carter and the others: I hope the whole truth is exposed and all LE who twist and true the facts are exposed. Something definately stinks here and I'm not talking about the pot! Seems to me the LE inforcement in the case are gold-diggers with a badge.

The doesn't appear to be about Marijuana for profit, it is just one of the many issues on the slate, more important is the corruption of Mitchell and Hopkins, Garzoli, etc. etc. If you read the posts you will see that. What's interesting about Ringen is all you guys can do is ask him to air his dirty laundry, however what he states about Mitchell and Hopkins and the internal corruption is never refuted. Its as if you can't deny what he states so let's just attack him. Nice try but the smoke screen doesn't work anymore. Come on you LE folks admit it your organization is a mess you know it, we know it and yes the majority of voters in Middletown will vote but it won't be for Mitchell or Hopkins. As a matter of fact I haven't seen a single LE on here say they are voting for Either of those two. Well we know why because you can't destroy your own values by saying so. You won't get much from the canidates on the pot issues, as it is to early in the process, however everyone knows you must have that vote to win, you can disparage it all you want folks, but it is the most important voting block in the county, and I know of a person or two running who has already indicated they want a sit down meeting with the growers, collectives, of the county. The tide has turned ladies and gentlemen, you better get on the train, it's leaving the station.
 

I am looking forward to the channel 7 report on the 12th, it will be interesting to see the reaction of the local LE's on that one. Can anyone say landslide???
 

So far between mitchell and Rivero...I'll go with Mitchell every time. On the ringen issue...he has thrown stones for thirty years and never hit anyone. His credability is the worst when it comes to anything to do with an administration of a department From Benivedes to Mitchell...he has been pretty consistant. A malcontent.

I believe we need a full time CAMP team in Mendocino and Lake. Pull it all, it is all illegal. Take their money and land, and then go buy cool stuff like copters, and machine guns. And when the feds make it legal LE should stop but only then.

Hey small grower you pay taxes on that extra $50,000 to $100,000 in cash you made last year. You grow 50, outdoor' backyard' 10 foot plants and lets say you get one pound per plant (going light here). You sell that to your beloved dispensary for $1,500 to $1,800 a pound. Do the math! Wow what a ignorant post,11:30 let me clue you in. Without 215 growers and local folks participating, this economy in the county would be total bankrupt. Go ahead ask the local business's selling the dirt and tools of the trade, it is a huge cash cow for this county. You talk about tax revenue it generates more taxes then the local bed tax on hotels and motels, now that Konocti is closing it will be even a bigger portion. You may have a dislike of the evil marijuana in your small thinking mind, but you sir are cutting off your nose despite your face, you act as though the monies generated don't go right back into our local economy, I know growers, good people employing folks and dropping that money right back into our little lake county economy. You have to get a clue we are talking about 5,000 plants growing in the national forest destroying the land in a terrible way. Just concentrate on those grows and that situation and we all will be a lot better off for it. Listen I know that it makes you mad that there are smarter people out there doing what you wish you could do. But you'll just have to live with that. And the next time you talk with a grower, I want you to get down on your hands and knees and thank them for their contribution to our local economy. Go pay your taxes to the franchise tax board and the IRS. They will be happy to take your money. If you are an upstanding person you should pay-up like the rest of us. Actually my friend it isn't illegal, 215 is actually in the books in case you didn't catch that. And oh by the way, the current administration has also said stay away from the local growers. Not sure if you have been on vacation or not, but it is reality, and you should try and catch up with the times. My friend you are not going to win this battle you know that right? Believe me the local growers and folks contribute a hell of a lot more to the economy then the taxes you pay. Now this blog isn't for bouncing around the different sides of pot that is just a small part of the bigger picture. Were all very glad your paying taxes, goldman sachs is glad, bank of america is glad, all the bank bailouts are glad, Paulson is happy, Bernanke is super happy, The folks at the trading firms who just got their million dollar bonus are really happy for the taxes. The new socialized health care people are super happy the taxes are being paid. GM was really happy the taxes were paid because then they took the money and filed BK.
