First of all... these posts are anonymous. You mentioned nothing in your initial Lake County slamming post about being a cop for 12 years. It was three posts later at 4:45pm. So who's to know that's you?

Secondly, I am NOT a dude nor a narcissistic inmate with a 5-speed on his blame shifter! LCSO did nothing to protect me from the felons running loose here. In fact, as I said in an earlier post, the DA & Sheriff's office made ME out to be the bad guy. The violent,unregistered s e x offender, 2nd strike felon still runs free. LCSO just had him a little over a month ago, and they let him out AGAIN!!!

Third, I know for a fact that Lake County employees have to suck up to their supervisor(s) to keep your job in Lake County. The county uses their employees for that ridiculous one year probation period, and if you're friendly, helpful, and more competent than your boss, you're out the door.

Fourth, I'll ignore all your misspelled words. Oh I get it... someone rearranged the buttons on your keyboard so the hunt and peck method doesn't work anymore ;)

By the way it appears that Mitchell and his boys, have a real consistent habit of getting full pay on medical leave for life on the taxpayers dime. Any time one of the boys gets in a jam, suddenly they are on medical leave and gone. They accomplished that pretty quick with Perdock.

On a secondary note wern't we going to see the cops union sending out a message saying how together and happy they all were. hmmmm that never happened.

If you want a case of abuse and stealing money by the lake county sheriff office look at the death of Steve Ananos a few years ago they took guns from his residence and cash from his person after he was killed in a traffic accident at Highland springs Rd and Hwy 29

Did you read the Grand Jury report? The part about record keeping in both Mitchell's and Hopkins office? I have a friend that had a firearm stolen from him and recovered by law enforcement. The time and trouble it took to get it back was unbelievable."And He was alive!" It would have been easier and faster to buy a new one.
 

It looks like Mitchell has some more questions to answer about the Helicopter fiasco. Not only do the past answers have to jive, They have to jive with the questions from the new

Everyone knows that Clearlake officers have been covering up for certain people for a LOOOONG time. Chalk's meth labs, Ray covering up for Brandon Mummert and Matt Huffman's pipe bombs and other explosive devices, theft, burglary, home invasion, drug running, and now almost definitely murder. These cops make me sick to my stomach. The FBI have been called and internal investigations. This has to stop!! Clearlake is disgusting, and we have the tweekers and COPS to thank for that. I understand priorities but will no longer tolerate being ignored. Your mistake is that you think all the people posting are just complaining and all of it unjustified from drug users and as you might say hippies(by the way the hippies were right). I am a fairly level headed old guy, and there are many many more like me, and others in this county from housewives to teenagers posting here. Believe me you can climb down from your high horse anytime, where there is smoke there is fire. you expect people to say, oh well the police force does take care of them darn probationers, so we should look the other way when it comes to the other things. My dear friend that is not democracy nor is the role a public servant should be involved in. The majority of law enforcement from what I can tell sheriffs for the most part, are scared, they have lost track of right and wrong, they have had no proper mentoring from the top levels, little lies are all right we protect each other on this force etc etc. I think it is all a little to late now. You should take off the rose colored glasses and speak to your self truthfully and to this forum truthfully.

Neither LCSO nor the DA know what facts and truth are. Blinders are blocking their view. Protect the criminal and persecute and prosecute the victim.
 

So word has it, LCSO Mitchell is out with Health Problems. Ya think the stress of the scope is on him? Or, maybe its his way of getting out of answering all those difficult questions on the Dinius Case. Someone mentioned poker? Shall we take bets to see if this health issue turns into Medical Leave? Sure hope the guy is ok. Wouldn't want anything to happen to him before the truths are revealed!
 

I do not know of the situation with Mitchell and health problems, time will tell if indeed he is pulling the same scam as Perdock and many others who have gone out on medical on the taxpayers dime. Oh by the way it appears that we have far to many law enforcement people in this county, based on population base vs numbers of cops we have far to many. I would suspect that over the years the numbers have grown beyond what is necessary. There will be a call to the supervisors to look into cutting down the amount of cops in the county as they are in charge of the sheriffs budget requirements. If this turns out to be the case some of the police force may be working the beat in some other location if they want to stay as public servants.
Also take note Perdock has been spotted several times around the county, and looks fine to me and others, Medical leave? hmmm seems to be having a grand old time. It appears this needs to be looked at as well.
 

Reading the last few comments I thought I would go back though the thread and read what has been discussed. I tell you if only 10% of what is being asserted on this blog is true, lake county has a serious problem. There have been former officers posting, and when that happens then the local current officers hammer him yes on this blog. So I am not sure why, except for perhaps fear, why there is such a child like attempt to post in the manner which it appears the local police and good old boy supporters have choosen. none the less, the information and discussion has reveled quite clearly there are some serious problems in this county. Just some thoughts, remember there have been local law enforement people posting earlier in the thread nailing the Sheriffs dept.,and employees of other departments as well. You can't dump all this off to the side and label it useless, not even close.

Before I write a article to the papers, I thought I would announce my complaint on here since there seems to be LCSO posting.
Two months ago, LCSO Boat Patrol towed a drifting phontoon (sp) to the shore along side of the public boat ramps in Clearlake Oaks. The knew who the owner was and said would be sited. The boat isn't registered, has no operating power, and has crap sitting on top of it, which some has already been stolen or taken. It sat there for over one month when I asked a LCSO on land patrol what they had intentions on doing with it. His response was that the Boat Patrol is taking care of it. Now, another month has gone by and still it sits. I asked another officer when he thought they would be towing it out of there. He said to notify Boat Patrol. Now correct me if I am wrong, but don't these guys work together. Couldn't he have called this in and found out what is taking place? Why should I have to take my time looking into a situation the LCSO created. It really is time for this boat to go bye bye. Get off your asses and do something about it. It is a major Eye Sore not only to the residents along Island Dr, but to the public as they come to launch their boats! Don't make me ask again, and I will be sending a letter of complaint off to the papers next time to show the public how you dont give a damn! I asked politely twice now. Now I'm angry you choose to ignore the request.

Not looking for a pat on the back for a great post. Great or Not the issue exists and was created by the LCSO who has not followed through and taken care of the whole situation. They put a band-aid on the problem by towing in a drifting boat, citing the owner and there it sits. I would like it out of the neighborhood! We have worked hard on cleaning up this area of Drugs, Alcohol and eye sores, and we certainly dont need the LCSO just leaving a mess for someone else to clean up!
 

And there in lies the problem, There is no local authority over Mitchell and his gang. What are u suppose to do, take a boat incident to the grand jury. We have no responsivness from the local law enforcement, why, because they don't have to. Wish there was a cure for you right now, but I think your doing the right thing by goiing to the papers. I found this site and maybe someone can answer a couple of questions. I followed the complete Dinius trial and cannot understand why an outside agency (attorney general, FBI, etc.) has not taken notice and proceeded with an investigation against Hopkins for his pretrial actions and during trial actions. Also Russell Perdock's purjury on the witness stand. Perdock lied and no one in Lake County LE or DA's office is looking his way at all. Not to mention killing Lynn Thorton. How are they getting away with this? Is anyone besides citizens trying to see that justice is done?
 

Honey stand in line, we all want answers as to why! Its called the Good Ole Boy Network. Yep thats right. Think again if you think it cant happen because this is a prime example of it. Every agency possible has been notified. Either they just dont give a damn or they are being really hush hush about following up on it.
 

i have been reading all of the posts on here and only tom andrews has came out and told the truth.well now i have some truth to share.I talked to dave garzolli today and he told me that he has his old job back and he is going to get a new car from the sherriff mr.Mitchell himself. He said that Mitchell is going to take care of the copter problem and not to worrie about it.Now that is comming from the man himself.Im not going to give my name because of what might become of this but its true.

Hey who was the cowboy sheriff, who pulled over a car from san francisco a friend of my families, with a women with him. Two nights ago They were heading out to dinner. Cowboy pulls them over and starts battering them with questions, such as who are, where are you going, why are you here, them tells them their license light was out, come to find out it wasn't. My families friend tells the cop he can knock off the questions and what the hell does he think he's doing, cowboy walks off says drive careful now and leaves in his patrol car. Lets look into how the Clearlake Police Department wrote up that report! The case happened a little over a year ago. I have done my homework. So if you want the facts, do a bit of investigating on your own. Believe me when I say, you don't need a eduacation to ask questions or look into a matter where you want the truth. And it certainly doesn't take a rocket scientist to put the gathered facts together in order to arrive at a logical conclusion. Unlike Hopkins who manipulates the system in order to TRY to confict the way he feels it should be. Not necessarily the way it is!

I dont think the story of Alice was posted to represent the entire problem in Lake County, it is just one example that represents just one of the many symbols that is lake county law enforcement and the DA. This story along with all postings here will be looked at, the information will be collected. Each of these incidents represents the frustrations and collective indignation this community has for the corrupt and disfunctional organizations in law enforcement of this county. Friends I would be quite cautious about attempting to discredit off hand the postings here, all of this will be brought to bear, and one would be wise to believe there are many more phases to this campaign and much information to come out.

Post 7:11--I've got a couple of 3 inch binders full of facts and the documentation to prove all of it. I'm pro law enforcement and I'm waiting for the day when I can hand over the goods to the community action group. They too are pro law enforcement too just not corrupt law enforcement.

By the way, your cop friend must be reading this blog and Topix along with the rest of the law enforcement in Lake County. I've recently spoken with a few of the finest and they admit house cleaning is long overdue. They would love to speak out but they need their paychecks.

That's the point I think everyone has been trying to make, LCSO is NOT all corrupt. If the above deputies trusted Bismarck's lawyer Haltom then to help Bismarck. Maybe they would feel comfortable going through Haltrom? or another attorney? to help clean up their department? Has anyone contacted Haltrom to see if he has any advice to offer? Just thinking.
 

That is a good avenue to explore concerning Haltrom, as you may know a good amount of information has been gathered from some former and actually present LCSO people. I think he would be a good one to contact. By the way just a reminder the Record Bee ad is out today, it will run every saturday, as it gives a three day exposure period before the paper comes out on Tuesday. It appears the fear within the sheriff's department and DA's office is huge. I talked to three 2 from Sheriff's and one from the DA's office, let me say that the friction is growing amongst the troops, and internally it is not a pretty picture. For anyone who has contact with a sheriffs or DA employee, be sure to get their name, if you are stopped, pulled over or anything of that nature and there are any problems, we want names and information.
 

I don't know how far back you want to go but I have information regarding a murder orchestrated by the sheriff's department when the person murdered was about to blow the whistle on the fact that the sheriff's department itself was manufacturing meth on some remote land owned by a private individual. There was an autopsy done on the murdered woman because she was relatively young (in her thirties) and it came back she had died of natural causes. Subsequently, her bones and skull in a box were delivered to her surviving son who was 15 at the time. The skull had a bullet hole in it. He took it as a warning to remain silent and he has. I am not making any of this up. I believe he still has the box.
 

My daughter was driving home from work in Calistoga one evening and went to pass a car in the only passing lane on the downside. This car took offense at the last minute that they were being passed and sped up, creating a dangerous situation for my daughter and forcing her to speed up even more in order to avoid being forced off the road. Immediately after the passing lane ended, the car that had been passed put on their high beams and followed my daughter very very closely that way until they finally turned off near the mobile home park on the south end of town. My daughter proceeded to Store 24 to get gas. While pumping gas she was suddenly surrounded by a half dozen police cars, and the police got out with guns drawn. They almost arrested her and impounded her car, but you've got to know my daughter. She is the sweetest and least provocative person on the planet. They gave her a ticket for reckless driving and let her go. It turned out the person she'd passed was Jennifer Profeit, an off-duty sheriff, who was later indicted for driving drunk, very very very drunk, I think a blood alcohol level of 4.5 was originally tested, (but they let her retake that test after waiting a number of hours) and while drunk had run into the back of a moped killing one teen-ager and causing the other to lose a leg. Her good ole boy sexual partners in the sheriff's department made sure she got only a slap on the wrist for this atrocity. Ms. Profeit wrote up a false police report stating my daughter had been driving ninety miles an hour through the curves the rest of the way down the mountain--an impossibility for even a professional racecar driver. My daughter went to court, was threatened with 6 months of jail time and other horrible things, and ended up accepting a plea bargain even though she was innocent. It messed up her driving record for a long time and she paid HUGE insurance premiums as well for a good long time. The lawyer we contacted about representing our daughter said he was already working pro bono on a similar case for a male victim and involving the same sheriff.

The people responding to that complaint were some of the same people who made sure Ms. Profeit only got a slap on the wrist for killing a teen-ager and causing another to lose a leg while driving drunk. Dates, names, etc., are left out intentionally out of fear of reprisal. These are not ordinary criminals we are dealing with, they are criminals with power. It's not easy nor safe to speak truth to power. Again, thank you for this blog, it's a start.

My intuition tells me that you are posturing for law enforcement.

I know of a neighbor situation where one family is successful, trustworthy and stable. They are innocent victims. The other household are habitual liars, file false reports, commit perjury, struggle financially and a member of the household is allegedly being treated for a sensitive mental condition. The innocent family has all the paper documentation including evidence from visual and hidden security cameras, yet local law enforcement refuse to step up to the plate and enforce the law.

Part of the end result of this should be a citizens group that represents the citizens of this county. This citizens group will dictate the manner and direction of local law enforcement. I.E. law enforcement will "report" to the citizens of this county, The supervisors will allocate monies to support the functioning of this watch dog organization, and reporting responsibilities will be set up, and power granted to this group for enforcing the direction and enforcement activities of both the sheriff and the DA.

you will never ever have a watchdog group that can "enforce the direction" of any law enforcement agency. a citizens group is not a trained and certified peace officer. It is also possible that if enough grand jurors think of themselves as possessing only reporting powers for a long enough period of time, the legislature may agree and significantly change the historic role of the regular grand jury.
The CGJA encourages regular grand juries to refer to themselves simply as “[County name] Grand Jury”. If an additional grand jury is impaneled let it refer to itself as an “additional”, “special” or “criminal” grand jury but reserve the unrestricted term “grand jury” for the regular grand jury.

In the continuing effort to bring to light the corruption associated with the sheriffs department and the DA's office, we have opened another phase in the people's effort. Copies of the current ads running in the local newspapers and a letter of position has been given to the Board of Supervisors as of this morning. The people's efforts will be made known to all concerned organizations and power structures in this county and in fact in this state as we continue to expand our efforts to gain our freedoms and rights back from the corrupt organizations and individuals in the local law enforcement organizations of our county. We ask that all of you who have the means begin to send letters and or phone calls to the supervisors and others you believe need to be aware of this battle, we also want all who can to make phone calls to the sheriffs numbers as well as the DA and the local state officials who you may have contact information for. This is just the beginning, and many more actions are in the works, thank all of you for your help and support let's keep the pressure up from every direction possible.
 

It appears that I hit a nerve at the SO. I've posted here and on Topix and have purposely left clues as to my identity. Last week I prepared a packet for an out of town agency. I was in the process of dictating my summary when my phone rang. Caller ID said “Private Caller” so I hit speaker phone. Ooops…I forgot to turn off the recorder.

The male caller told me that my name is floating around the office and that I need to watch my back. He sounded sincere.
 

Very interesting on post 2:08, I had recently heard of another incident recently along the same lines. There is a "witch hunt" perhaps beginning to brew within the local LE departments. It makes sense as the fear amongst the organizations is growing, not only does it appear that the local sheriffs are actually noticing people watching them around town but they feel like they are being looked at with a very suspicious look from us local folks, that can tend to cause some paranoia and thus a anger and fear. This is of course what we want, but it also means we have to be careful very careful, and yes watch your back's.
 

It didn't end with Bismarck's trial, Mitchell kept it going with his "PDF"attempt to prove his/their innocence in handling the case against Bismarck. With a further attempt he offered to answer as we know now twenty questions in two sets of ten. That was a month ago. With the interest and coverage of the trial that Dan Noles from ch 7.did. I wonder if he would be curious and or interested in doing a follow up investigation. He might be interested in the fact that Mitchell and company are still trying to explain away their misdeeds up to and during the trial??
 

I don't know if it's true or not, But his attitude is the same. "Wow" is (I believe) Pat McMahon, a deputy for the Napa County Sheriff's Dept. He had been one of Mitchell's cronies for a number of years. Mitchell protected him when he worked for the Lake County Sheriff's Dept. McMahon will do whatever he can to protect Mitchell since Mitchell didn't fire him when he should have (for committing a crime).
 

WOW!! If Wow is a Napa County Sheriff then maybe a good samaritan should inform his superiors about his past and present loyalties to another sheriff.

As most of you may know the Obama Administration put notice out yesterday to the DEA/FBI etc. basically telling them to no longer go after local grow operations under 215 and or the persons using under the guidelines of 215. Therefore are good friends at the DEA and the cooperation afforded them by our local sheriffs should stop. Although the Obama statement will create a great deal of confusion it is a step in the right direction. At least now we should see the DEA folks stop attacking little upperlake with which they have been so concerned over the past few months. Time will tell, please post any activity along these lines if you become aware of it.
 

I would hope someone is trying to contact channel 7's Noyes in regards to a followup on the great Dinius work he did. Dinius was just the icing on a very bad cake, the whole cake needs to be investigated, let's hope something comes about in this area.
 

Yes, I figured all of you pot heads would be happy with Pres Obama's notice. Funny thing is, I have never seen so many HEALTHY people standing in line to get their card. All of the lame excuses they come up with so they can be lazy asses and smoke dope. Fine, if you are ligitimately sick, but come on, there is a large % of people who just want to be dope smokers. You are patronizing those who are really sick, by having an ingrown toe nail, and in dire need of a 215 card. Step away from the pipe and get a job.
 

10/19 2:15, I think law enforcement is acutally used to having people look at them. Only, they are looking because they are paranoid because they are actually criminals. Or less than law abiding citizens. And, yes, just because one may not beleive in a law, does not mean they can violate it. I think people should spend more time being productive members of society as opposed to drilling holes in their garage doors and wondering what LE agency is "watching" them. Get some jobs, spend some money, make the world a better place....
 

To post 10:45, alright now step away from the bottle and push away from the bar. Although it doesn't seem that this blog page is designed to discuss the various aspects of pot being legal or not. It should be noted that you have a far more serious problem with alcohol not only in this county but across the country as a whole. Get a clue, make it legal, get the mafia out of the forests, and let's turn the resources toward meth, crack etc. Let's also get the DEA out of the pot business, which is in some cases being used to attack individuals who they have a greater vendata for then the pot itself. This is the connection to this blog page, as there are ongoing activities between folks the sheriff and DA doesn't like for what they know about them, and getting the DEA to attack them for those reasons. Time will bear this out as we all will eventually see.

To post 10:52 it's not all criminals dear friend, for those who simply choose to believe that LE is just the perfect group of people, and you can't bring yourselfs to believe any different, and that all people who would protest some of their activities are wrong, then you must remove the rose colored glasses. Do you know how many pot smokers hate those that use crack and meth etc. the great majority, and in fact it is those people who actually say they want LE to attack those avenues. So there is balance in those views and statements. You protectors of the LE at any cost people simply don't have a deep enough or expansive enough thought process, your caught in your emotions and can't see a balanced picture.

The tide is turning, you can no longer attack local citizens and groups through the DEA and The DA in this county, you are losing this battle, and you will lose the next election. You are being watched by more then you may think, local officers your words are being heard your conversations noted, many within your ranks are working with our citizens group, time to come clean Mr Mitchell. To those still protecting him, get a clue the time draws near.


A Superior Court judge concluded today that Los Angeles' moratorium on new medical marijuana dispensaries is invalid and granted a preliminary injunction against enforcement of the ban sought by a dispensary that had sued the city.

Judge James C. Chalfant determined that the city failed to follow state law when it extended its initial moratorium. "The city cannot rely on an expired ordinance," he said.

Green Oasis and a number of other medical marijuana collectives sued the city last month, challenging its efforts to control the dispensaries. The lawsuit argued that the City Council violated state law when it extended the ban until mid-March and that it is unconstitutionally vague.

Although the injunction applies only to Green Oasis, the judge's ruling calls into question the city's power to enforce the moratorium against hundreds of dispensaries that have opened in the last two years. The ruling could inspire other dispensaries to join the lawsuit or file similar actions.
 

On Sept. 15, the board adopted an interim ordinance that imposed a 45-day moratorium to stop medical marijuana dispensaries from opening and stop law enforcement from taking action against established dispensaries that follow state law. The board being our lake county board of supervisors.

So Mr. Mitchell and the boys, stop taking action against established dispensaries. You got that right, if anyone hears of any action being taken by the sheriffs dept in this regard please post here. Remember this is not so much about yes or no on dispensaries, but about the sheriffs dept using it as an excuse to attack certain people they think have to much information concerning their internal affairs. This goes for hopkins and his thugs as well.
 

The board addressed a few other issues Tuesday.

Board members voted to allow the Sheriff's Department to buy eight new Ford Crown Victoria police cars from Holder Ford
for $178,093.

Now that comes out to roughly 22,000 to 23,000 per car is that fully equipped? and if not what is the real cost and why if it is higher was that not reveled? I could put a new engine, new brakes, new everything including a cup holder for their rum, uh I mean coffee in an existing car for a hell of a lot less then that, I thought we were in difficult economic times, oh heck screw the needy and poor in the county, lets get pimped new rides yea!!!!! Heck we could even drive them home each day on the public dime, and drive them to the dispensaries we are not suppose to be going after.
 

No LE agency can buy a fully equipped ready to roll car for that price, with all the bells and whistles that must be added. I think You are just fishing for someone to join you in your quest to tack on another complaint.
 

^ No kidding! I doubt you would be able to get even 4 cars with that much money. They must be used if they can get 8 cars for under 200 grand. I would also say that giving money to law enforcement is an attempt to help the poor, as the poor are the most often in need of their services. Police, like Fire departments and hospitals are all community service organizations. Giving more money to any of them is seen as giving money for social welfare. Must be a bunch of Republicans on here or something.
 

I am sure if your getting raped or robbed, or are in a vehicle accident and needing immediate assistance, that you want your rescuer driving some piece of shit that will either break down, not go over 35 miles and hour, or not be able to clear traffic and request the right of way with functioning lights and siren, or not be able to communicate properly when the address given in a panic was off a couple of numbers or streets.
That is so HIC to suggest that emergency services drive some unsafe, unreliable, high mileage wreck. This is why this blog is failing so bad.
