Huuh Collins sure has you fooled have you ever seen him in court? He makes all his clients plead guilty he hasn't got anyone off yet! He doesn't do any trials! None of the publid defenders do trials! Thats' why he had a disabled client who had to go to jail! Because he made her plead guilty!
 

Collins just stands there in court when Martin and the da make people plead out without a lawyer! If that is one of the things you say martin is being investigated for and he's all that shoiuldn't he be speaking up instead of just standing there?

You can slam them to your hearts content, the PD's get paid very little for workloads that are out of this world, they have no power over judges in any way shape or forum, I don't care who they are or where it is at. If you want to tell me where you have this amazing superman of a PD then by all means share it, but I doubt you have ever seen one. That having been said, at least in this case Shawn has gone before the board concerning the disability issue, and in fact the case which was his, amazed him because he literally told Townsend and Judge Martin they were breaking the law in their sentencing, to which they told him to take a hike. And at that point there ain't much you can do. Now don't be surprised when those clients of his sue the county as that would not surprise me, and although he cannot be the lawyer in a law suit as he is not private, he sure can assist whomever he would refer them to. So there is a bit more to this then meets the eye my friends. Now with all that having been said, I suspect you all have your expectations set way to high for what PD's have to go through and what their ultimate goal is, they are there to get time in grade period, when they get experience under their belt they get brought into a firm as a junior partner, and begin their private work as lawyers. There is not a lawyer firm in the country that will take a young PD into the fold until they get a number of years under their belt. I take Mr. Collins actions before the board, and calling these questionable practices to county counsel as going above and beyond the call of duty. Now again may be you know of these amazing PD who are superman in court but I doubt that very much. By the way yes the plea situation without counsel is part of the investigation on Judge Martin, and in fact after countless efforts on Mr. Collins part to indicate that the judges should not be doing that, he has found that they could give a damn, and have shut him down. Therefore we are taking up the mantle on that one as well. Thats my view on it, but you all may have other conjectures. Biggest point is lets get after the judges and the sheriffs dept. and that is just what we have done, and it is causing quite a stir to say the least. Hope that helps clarify that a bit anyway.
 

758 Robert Crone was the District Attorney. Three young adults were killed on July 16, 1982 boating accident. One of the victims was Jody Odom who was born on Dec. 9,1960 in Lake County California. I will have to check for the other 2 names later.
 

One of them was a Juechert as in Barbara Juechert's son.

I gotta tell ya the more I hear about these judges the more it seems we are going to have to call alot of them on the carpet. It appears to me as well that over the years we have had a situation manifest where the judges have for all intents and purposes push the PD's down so hard to get them to conform that no one is getting a fair trial in this county. We can leave it up to God, but you know sometimes crap happens and you are expected to take action, Jewish people during the Hitler seige, left it up to God and got killed by the millions. To 12/30 7:58 post: Judge Crone wasn't the trial judge on the Dinius case, visiting judge Byrne was. Crone may have made a ruling related to a hearing and prior to trial assignment, but he never heard the jury trial.

Just as a quick overview, I think the folks posting about the PD Collins are with us on the removal of Mitchell and Hopkins, so we do understand your concerns about the PD's in the county. We do have to say however is this isn't a site run by Collins or any other PD, I know that has been suggested a couple of times, but really this is not run by anyone of that nature. I can only express that to you in these terms. But please do confirm with us that we are on the same page in regards to our mutual desire to rid this county of Mitchell and Hopkins and the other corrupt ones in the LE. We want to make sure we are all on the same page. If not and you are a corruption supporter, then we are sure you will let us know that as well. Thanks for the help and support.

To Ms post 8:35 Since I began reading this blog about 3 months ago, there have been 15 different people named to be behind this blog. Each time the person mentioned was libeled and defamed by a nasty group of deputies and their supporters. If the real blog Admin. removes posts that attack a "supposed blog Admin." They do it out of fairness, not out of fear. Where were you when other innocent people were being defamed? Did you jump in and ask the blog Admin. to remove posts? No, you just sat back and watched. As for me, I also sat back and watched but it was then that I became involved. I read the meanspiritted ridiculous lies and libelious posts levied aganist some 15 different people and it was obvious who was behind it...LCLE! Not all LCLEO's are bad but there is a "puss pocket" that needs to be lanced! That is when I began to see and I got on board with this site! Thank you Lovelace for protecting LC citizens from unwarranted attacks here on this blog! Oh yes, you will say that corrupt LEO's are citizens too but the difference is that thoses corrupt LEO's have taken the "oath" but have failed abide by it. It was Judge Crone who denied the motion to remove LCDA Jon Hopkins from the case 2007. It was also Judge Crone who stated, he had performed the marriage of Russ Perdock and although Crone has had previous contacts over the years with Russ Perdock it would not affect this case, said Crone. I said, Crone should have reclused himself but did not. Your are correct that the trial judge was Michael Byrne.
 

"Today at the BOS Tuesday meeting official notification will be given to the BOS at the time of the public forum. This notification will outline the actions of the Sheriffs Department in collusion with the superior court judges Martin and Mann concerning the illegal activity concerning the discrimination and unlawful activities connected to disabled defendants in Lake County. This notification must occur as part of a multiple step process that must happen prior to other lawful actions that may be taken.

This action is part of a multi pronged approach in association with the above ADA posting. Concerning the misconduct of the Sheriffs Department and the local Judical system.

For those individuals inside the system who have assisted us in this action we want to thank you for your risky and sometimes difficult work you have helped us with. We assure you we will take all actions necessary to resolve this condition.

Ok lot's of news coming up, we are simply going to start out with a brief overview on what is in the pipeline for the start of the new year, and a bit beyond. Here are some of the near future items. Garzoli and the Helicopter incident will be in the news within the first week of the month. This is going to be a fairly significant situation that is going to develop concerning Garzoli, Mitchell and this cover-up. This will also be associated with the Audit/Investigation now completed and in the Hands of the BOS. This in the end will be a hard blow to Mitchell and company.

From an administrative update, we are currently working on a significant site expansion, we are going to take this current format and expand it out to essentially be a full webpage, and be the first part of the new Citizens group oversight committee, as well as an expansion of our investigative tools and systems along with the ability for a greater number of citizens to assist us and contribute to our goals.

Over the course of the next week or two, we will be posting significant overviews concerning Mitchell and Hopkins from a good number of former LCSO's who are coming forward this is an important part of bringing Mitchell and Hopkins down, as some of these people have excellent documentation of the past corruption. None of this information has been distributed all individuals are in place and they will shed some amazing yet scary light on the Mitchell Hopkins antics over the past few years.

We are beginning work on the election process even at this early stage, a get out the vote campaign will be forth coming as the election draws nearer. One aspect of this is the withholding of certain information that we currently have, to be used during the election if in fact Mitchell and Hopkins have not stepped down by then. We want this information to have great impact and will use it at critical times during the election. Essentially this centers around an understanding of not only the manner in which Mitchell runs his election campaigns, but having received information of how he will try to run, several surprise attacks will be waiting for Mitchell, as we have some understanding of what he is going to try and throw out to the public.

So there is a general idea of some of the things forthcoming. As a note to all our supporters on this site. We cannot really express our gratefulness to the huge success this site has been, the numbers of people who have assisted us, and continue to from both inside and outside the LCSO and DA's office. The numbers of hits is far beyond both the record bee and lake co news combined on a weekly and monthly basis when compared to the hits and comments on the various articles in those papers. This we did not anticipate but we are very happy with the results and the great people who are helping us. We have been contacted recently by a few other counties and cities asking for assistance in how to create and manage this type of system in their areas, and have received posts from as far away as Washington and Southern California. So everyone be aware, we have also moved up to the number 10 spot on the google search engine, with only the letters sheriff m in the search box, we come up number 10 and it is moving up. That is huge and shows the level of success we are having. 2010 is going to be a huge year of change in our county and we believe at the end of 2010 you will be seeing a far different county and relationship between the LE/DA and its citizens. Thanks for the support and everyone please remember one of the keys in the election will be getting out the vote, every single person must get out vote and get it done. This cannot be a situation where we get all kinds of commitments to vote and then they don't show up at the booth. All the good PD's leave this county...........Jason Webster was great; he saw what was going on; he was discussed by it all. AND; Mike Magliori; was great; he too left
because of the corruption. I was a witness to cases these PD's had. They didn't have a chance. The Judges work for the DA's....literally; all evidence from the defendants were ignored; and no matter what the DA submitted; the Judge ruled in their favor.
Judge Martin, in both cases; wore a smirk, like he already knew who's side he was going to take......and in either case, when the PD made a motion it was objected to by the Judge, it was ridiculous. Finally, Magliori comes outside and tells me "the Judge is working for the DA" "Did you hear him object to everything I presented."
That's probably why Collins stood there not saying anything. It's so horrible.
And, the case I was at also involved two people who were disabled....although I must admit I have seen Judge Martin do the same thing in cases where the person was not disabled. Something has to be done with the injustices here in Lake County.
 

Judge Mann had that same smirk when he wouldn't let me introduce my evidence too. (small claims) I would like to know how Mann could go fishing in
Oregon (with the Lunas family) when he had his ankle braclet for one of his DUI's
 

Post 2:34 what you have posted is exactly what information we had received concerning the judges having the PD's under their thumb. It is sad but true, we hope through our commission investigation of Judge Martin we can begin to stop this madness. People are not being represented fairly, and the powers in place know it. There is much to be done in the area of our judges and the citizens will gain back the control that is necessary. As well when there is this much nepotism in the system it is impossible to conduct the business fairly and with justice. I think we have already covered this one, we don't see this as racist per sey it is more of a political statement, a silly letter to say the least, but not per sey racist. Although this is a very untoward letter, and if it is accurate and true it is a very poor way of conduction business. I got to tell ya this sounds so bizarre, it would be hard to imagine that this really happened and that an actual letter was written as shown. If indeed it did and this is actually true, we will run with this, a couple of questions is this individual still working in the county, that is the boss, I just feel like this is a wild goose chase and there is no way this actually happened, so if we can get some clarification that would be great, and others that indicate this actually happened.

You're right he was an excellent attorney. Mike Malliarys left because his wife hated Lake County. She is Russian and apparently our fair community did not fit her notion of California.

Haltom said that, to him, the injustice of the prosecution was compelling to him.


“To this day, I can't figure out what made Lake County authorities tick,” he said.


He believes, as he asserted in court, that there was an effort to protect Perdock at the expense of Dinius.


“They had to know he was not guilty of causing Lynn's death,” Haltom said of his client.


Haltom, who also was strained financially by devoting himself entirely to the case, has gotten back to work in his own practice.


But he's far from done with the case.


He and the Northern California Innocence Project – which worked with him on Dinius' trial – are assisting Berkeley attorney Lawrence Masson in a civil rights case expected to be filed next month against the county of Lake. They've compiled a “mountain of documents” – Haltom estimated there are 10,000 pages of information compiled in the case so far.


The action will include a defamation filing against Hopkins – who before the trial issued a public letter on his reasons for pursuing the case – and also will name Sheriff Rod Mitchell, Perdock and some other individuals within the Lake County Sheriff's Office and the District Attorney's Office.

This was the same argument that the San Francisco Medical Examiner used against Rivero’s lawsuit. Under the circumstances here Hopkins and Mitchell better start hiding their assets.

A few years ago, a San Jose, California prosecutor named Ben Fields was running
up quite an impressive string of convictions. In his ardor, he became less and less
interested in how he achieved those convictions, and he became more and more
aggressive in defending his convictions.
Damon Auguste was convicted of sodomy in concert, rape in concert and oral
copulation in concert by Fields in 1998 when Auguste was 21 years of age. He was
sentenced to 18 years and 8 months in California prisons. His aunt, Donna Auguste, was
a former entrepreneur-high tech engineer turned philanthropist, living in Colorado.
Damon was fortunate. His aunt retained the best experts, investigators and lawyers
available in Northern California to fight the conviction. As the investigation revealed
Fields’ prosecutorial tactics, Fields struck back. He secured search warrants on the
residences of Damon’s family and witnesses. He brought criminal charges against a
witness. He effectively hid witnesses. He misrepresented facts. Realizing that Donna
Auguste was financing the attempts to overturn the conviction, Fields went so far as to
send a California law enforcement officer to Colorado to secure a search warrant of
Donna Auguste’s home. While Ms. Auguste was on a philanthropic mission overseas,
Colorado’s Larimer County law enforcement agents, aided by a California D.A.
investigator, broke into her home and conducted a search of the premises, leaving the
remnants of their search in piles.
The California assistant district attorney and his cohorts picked the wrong person.
Donna Auguste continued the fight to free her nephew, successfully getting the
conviction overturned and Damon Auguste released in exchange for a misdemeanor plea.
Ben Field’s demand for a bond greater than $8 million dollars resulted in the District
Attorney removing him from the case. More than that, Ms. Auguste sued Fields and
other California law enforcement and the Colorado Larimer County law enforcement
officers who executed Fields’ strategy. She brought the suit in the United States District
Court for the District of Colorado. Federico Alvarez, Terrance Kelly and Christine
Murphy represented Donna Auguste in that action.

Fields raised the defense of absolute prosecutorial immunity. District Judge Wiley
Daniel rejected the defense. Fields’ employer, California’s Santa Clara County, appealed
the decision to the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. Argument was heard on September
26, 2006, and on May 22, 2007, in an opinion by Senior Judge Stephanie K. Seymour and
joined in by Judge Carlos Lucero and Judge Terrence L. O’Brien, Judge Daniel’s ruling
was upheld. Field’s lawless conduct was denied the shield of prosecutorial immunity.

Two words for the "lawsuit" crowd; Summary Judgment. Anyone can file a lawsuit for anything, the suit itself is proof of absolutely nothing. In fact, given the timing, I'd say there's a compelling argument that it is politically motivated. As with much of the allegations here, time and truth will show them as malicious rumors.
 

Anybody can file a lawsuit; doesn't men that it has merit. Here in America we have this thing called due process. Maybe Haltom has a good suit, I don't know (but I doubt it). Maybe just filing the suit will ruin Hopkins' chance at reelection. But just because someone makes an accusation does not mean it is true. Judge Martin has been accused of misconduct, for example, and some posts seem to think that the fact that there is an investigation means that there is some merit to the accusation. That is clearly not true. If that were true we wouldn't need courts and defense attorneys and prosecutors; we could just let the police arrest people and that would be that. You need to keep an open mind about these things and not assume just because somebody on the internet says something that it is true. I am not arguing the merits here, I'm just saying that we need to keep these principles in mind if we are going to do anything meaningful about the problems we have here in Lake County.
 

Hey someone of you guys are making progress we have moved you from total denial that anything is going to happen, or that we will accomplish anything, Now that we have shown the accomplishments and brought the investigation to Judge Martin, and change the method and the manner which the sheriff is handling disability sentencing you know are saying well you guys just wait till the investigation is complete, and just wait till this is finished before you come to some judgement. TO THE CITIZENS OF LAKE COUNTY IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

We have decided that the first of January the start of the new year and it being the year that great change will take place in our county. This will be the first of several important announcements concerning the various investigations that are taking place via the efforts of the citizens, our inside help, and this citizens group.

As we announced a week ago we had received word that the audit/investigation concerning what some are starting to call helicoptergate had been completed and this along with other information we have received from various sources of which we are very grateful are the sources of this report. These sources have been crossed referenced for accuracy to create this disturbing account.

We are stunned but not surprised to report that the questionable helicopter flights of Garzoli known to have been happening by Mitchell have accumulated a cost of Appox 100,000 dollars that someone is going to have to pay. The DEA is suggesting the flights were not authorized on their end and essentially are saying "oh by the way is that check in the mail"!!! Re-read this paragraph again and be sure you have understood what we are saying before we go on.

We continue, three different very reliable sources have confirmed this information and what follows. The board of supervisors will take on this dramatic revelation this coming Tuesday. An individual who is not on the BOS or part of county counsel who has had knowledge of the details of the investigation has suggested some very difficult options and methods of approach are being looked at. We have received information concerning what these options may be. We are not going to post these potential approaches until Tuesday, we have very good reasons for doing this, and you will understand those reasons when we re-visit this on Tuesday.

Several things come to minc, but first and foremost is a message to Sheriff Mitchell. Mr Mitchell we have said this over and over, and we include Mr. Hopkins in this admonition, it is time for you to step down. You and your non-leadership are and have cost this county dearly, enough is enough, a great deal of continued punishment is coming your way if you choose to continue in your position's. The people of this county can no longer continued to be punished by your actions, we have suffered enough and now we have this. Let us also point out in an attempt to assist you in your decision that we have in the wings much much more to come.

To the board of supervisors, and county counsel the citizens of this county have for years heard that you have no control over the sheriff no control over the DA no control with the exception of the money. Well now we are talking about money, a lot of money the county doesn't have to pay, the citizens of this county demand an explanation, who is watching the store we ask, is it simply that you didn't know a thing, and only now does this come to your attention, and now what will your approach be. When will the proper safe guards be put in place to control this rampaging out of control system, when will the suffering of the citizens be stopped?

In closing the first part of this announcement, we are going to post this message to Capt. Bauman via the sheriffs e-mail system, it is the only way of ensuring it gets on the desk of Mitchell and the best method of letting the citizens know he is totally aware of this situation. No longer will he hide behind "not knowing" or being "unaware" no "ism's" here Mr. Mitchell, just straight talk and the need for you to step down. The citizens await your reply.

Well post 9:31 appreciate the question concerning Hopkins of course if you have been following the blog, you would have read the litany of grievances that the citizens have listed concerning him, so I will take a long post to point them all out. Just for starters and has been posted just a short time ago, is the responsibilities of the DA to file charges against Mitchell for the huge number of issues and illegal activities he has committed. Even investigating to a certain level the allegations is a responsibility of the DA. He has investigated nothing ever concerning the Sheriffs department. But we could go on and on, there are many questions surrounding the relationship between Mitchell and Hopkins, and as a matter of fact as we have already indicated we have a great deal of investigative information already to post concerning Hopkins and believe me it is not pretty. One of the reasons this takes some time is that we are very careful to verify all information we receive through multiple sources before posting. Without making this to long of a post I hope that helps answer your question to some degree.

This needs to be confirmed, but wasn't it thee Jon Hopkins District Attorney for Lake County who had harassed a Buckingham man and his family because of a SO who claimed he was assaulted by a 4'8" petite german woman who pointed her finger at the deputy?
That deputy stated he would sue the family for everything they had. The family tried to resolve the matter with the District Attorney's Office but the DA refused to drop the matter. Sometime the man took his life. I think these letters from the DA could be benefical. Will see if they can be obtained.

I have been reading the blog and I don't see any details of anything Hopkins or his office has done (or failed to do) aside from the involvement in the Dinius case. The DA just gets lumped in with Mitchell mostly, is what it seems like to me. Can you specify what posts mention the DA's office and the problems there? 10:42, this site keeps promising details and the results of investigations and whatnot but I have seen very little if any follow through on that. Maybe I'm just missing it. Why do you think the DA should have filed charges on Mitchell? Specifically, for what? Why do you think the DA should have investigated the Sheriff? Specifically, for what? Telling me to go back and read the previous posts is not helpful because I have and there just aren't a lot of details, just a lot of vague chatter and conclusions without specifics. I don't think I'm out of line asking for details, maybe its obvious to you because you have access to information I don't but I am just not seeing anything that helps. Which is why I ask.

This is an important message to the citizens of lake county, there is going to be an organized protest at the January 11th debate at the Kelseyville high school, this is the debate the public has not been invited to. We have a lot of information to get out concerning this protest, which will be held at the building where the debate is taking place. The citizens of this county will not allow Mitchell to diminish the public's participation in such an important event. We understand that Mr. Rivero is going to attend the debate. There are organizers working now to get the posters, bull horns and what ever else is needed for the protest. Organizers are working on ride shares for those that cannot drive. There is much planning to be done, and we are asking for everyone to be there, times will be posted at a later date. We have other information concerning who else is attending or is being allowed to attend and it is not a pretty picture, we will explain more of that in the next few days, Citizens of Lake County it is time, the new year is here we will be increasing our attacks on Mitchell and Hopkins, on the corrupt DSA as well as others. The information we have gotten today on this debate, will alarm you. We are clarifying certain facts at this time and will be posting on an on-going basis. We need all people to be at this protest, as this will launch our first of many organized marches and protests against this corrupt organization.

So what's the date of an investigation you've posted that concerns the DA's office with details of what's wrong there (besides the Dinius case)? Seriously, Gary Luck (who was DA when the Dinius case actually happened and who hand-picked Hopkins as his successor) is a Mason, most of the Da investigators (including John Flynn who was in the Dinius case) and Perdock and several other SO are Masons at the local lodge in Clearlake. Who else is a Mason? How does the lodge figure into this? Are you investigating the fact that Steve Carter (the head public defender) is also a Mason and part of that lodge? Because it seems logical that this stuff that you are documenting could not have gone on for so long without the public defender being involved at least to the extent of turnning a blind eye. What's carter's involvement in all this? I understand if you are still working on it like you said earlier but I am curious to know what you have found out.

Couple of items to the above posts, we have not looked into the Mason potential, you are correct about the and their vast undertakings for so many hundreds of years, in fact the majority of those who signed the declaration were Masons and their roots go in many different directions, but to answer your question we have not looked at that at all. However funny you should mention Carter, AS we have plans in the works to contact him for a number of different reasons, the least of which is why he allows his DA's to get hammered so much by the judges and DA, he appears to really lacking in any kind of solid leadership.He is not a main priority at this juncture but in due time, as we have said before we are kinda performing a corruption triage just like when there is a major accident and you have to prioritize the worst case situations.

Back to the Hopkins situation, for right now here is what we will say, We have in front or our group several pages of investigative information some coming from inside folks some from others, and 2 meetings set up within the next two weeks to discuss Mr. Hopkins, this is aside from what has already been posted, remembering the posts go back nearly 2,800 posts, plus some archived material, so ya there is a lot on him, we will give out the current information we have, and the other can be researched in various ways. Remember there is a lot that has to be exposed, judges, family connections lots and lots of money that has to be accounted for and a few deaths here and there like Lynn Thorton. So even though you are right about getting out an voting, we must and will continue to expose and correct all aspects of this corruption, remember by our efforts we have a judge under investigation, the disabled in this county have been helped, and from all reports the presentation of the sheriffs and the public is improving, exposure is critical, and it causes the local LE to be far more careful
 

Hopkins wastes our tax dollars on BS trials like "possession of nunchucks" and still loses. He holds the local judges hostage with threats that if they do not rule in his favor he will not assign cases to that judge's court room. The judges have no back bone either by ruling for the DA instead of ruling for the law. They are all in bed together. The normal Joe dosen't have a chance unless he has money to appeal. The poster above wants to know what else Hopkin has done wrong besides Dinius. Well gee wasn't Dinius enough? He made us all look like a bunch of yahoos. Why hasn't Hopkins gone after Perdock?

Post 4:26, let's not go down the road of defending Hopkins it is a losing battle, Rivero was just on local radio for an hour and it was an outstanding presentation, One of the subjects that came up was the lack of the DA being cooperative in anyway with the citizens of this county. The lack of a system of understanding concerning the 215 issue, and an individual that stonewalls any chance he gets. We can go on and on concerning the lack of leadership the Dinius trial the inability of the DA's office to be able to work with the citizens in admonishing the Sheriffs department for poor record keeping, bad fact finding, and putting the hammer down on Mitchell for causing them to spend so much money losing so many cases it is a waste of tax paper money and shows an inability to have a fair effective system of running the DA's office. Wow not sure how many of you listened to KPFZ broadcast at 5:00 with Rivero, It was an outstanding presentation on his part, Every single caller was positive about Rivero and the changes he is going to implement in his new position. Citizens Oversight committee's honesty and integrity. He presented himself well, and said the things the citizens needed to hear. After that performance, we ask again, Mr. Mitchell will you please step down, the time has come, the taxpayers do not need you in this position for another moment, it is over and the table is set for the citizens to sit down with a serving of justice and transparency, something they have not had for many years. I know that taped audio's are available of each broadcast, in that sense you need to contact KPFZ and I believe you can get a copy of it. Don't know if there is a small charge or not. And usually the programs are re-broadcast in this case I don't know when the re-broadcast would be, but KPFZ can tell you that as well. There were so many callers that they did not have enough time in the one hour period, Mitchell by the way would not come on the show he was asked, and refused, and the last time he was on, he would not take calls. Typical Mitchell, this is why he wants the 11th debate without the public present, this is why we are going to protest on the 11th at the debate, please mark your calendars to be there at the protest at K-Ville highschool.

Notice to lake county citizens: Investigation update......

We have received more information on the upcoming Tuesday BOS meeting concerning helicoptergate..Since due to the lack of monetary oversight by the BOS and the potential loss of 100,000 dollars associated with the Garzoli flight training of which the DEA says they are not liable for the bill as the flights were not authorized the BOS is in hot water. The BOS is going to try and cover their rearends, they are going to try and fool the public into thinking they are being proactive in this situation when it is an activity they should have been aware of from the beginning. Well according to the county website Native People are 3.4% of the population (the figure is from 2008) and the population is about 65,000, so that's what about 2200 total, out of that you would subtract minors which is about 20% of the total population or about 440 or so, leaves 1760 adults. How many of those are registered to vote? Who knows? I am not sure that figure is tracked in any way. Anyhow somewhat less then 1800 voters in that community, as a very rough guess, which, if it is true that they are all against Mitchell, might be a factor. I would suggest though that it is not the sheer number of voters in the Native community that makes them significant, it's the casino money. Are either Mitchell or Rivero taking casino money? As far as the Hispanic community, that's kind of hard to figure, the number is 15.7% of the county population, but I am not sure if that figure includes non-citizen legal residents who are not eligible to vote.

TO THE CITIZENS OF LAKE COUNTY IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

We have decided that the first of January the start of the new year and it being the year that great change will take place in our county. This will be the first of several important announcements concerning the various investigations that are taking place via the efforts of the citizens, our inside help, and this citizens group.

As we announced a week ago we had received word that the audit/investigation concerning what some are starting to call helicoptergate had been completed and this along with other information we have received from various sources of which we are very grateful are the sources of this report. These sources have been crossed referenced for accuracy to create this disturbing account.

We are stunned but not surprised to report that the questionable helicopter flights of Garzoli known to have been happening by Mitchell have accumulated a cost of Appox 100,000 dollars that someone is going to have to pay. The DEA is suggesting the flights were not authorized on their end and essentially are saying "oh by the way is that check in the mail"!!! Re-read this paragraph again and be sure you have understood what we are saying before we go on.

We continue, three different very reliable sources have confirmed this information and what follows. The board of supervisors will take on this dramatic revelation this coming Tuesday. An individual who is not on the BOS or part of county counsel who has had knowledge of the details of the investigation has suggested some very difficult options and methods of approach are being looked at. We have received information concerning what these options may be. We are not going to post these potential approaches until Tuesday, we have very good reasons for doing this, and you will understand those reasons when we re-visit this on Tuesday.

Several things come to minc, but first and foremost is a message to Sheriff Mitchell. Mr Mitchell we have said this over and over, and we include Mr. Hopkins in this admonition, it is time for you to step down. You and your non-leadership are and have cost this county dearly, enough is enough, a great deal of continued punishment is coming your way if you choose to continue in your position's. The people of this county can no longer continued to be punished by your actions, we have suffered enough and now we have this. Let us also point out in an attempt to assist you in your decision that we have in the wings much much more to come.

To the board of supervisors, and county counsel the citizens of this county have for years heard that you have no control over the sheriff no control over the DA no control with the exception of the money. Well now we are talking about money, a lot of money the county doesn't have to pay, the citizens of this county demand an explanation, who is watching the store we ask, is it simply that you didn't know a thing, and only now does this come to your attention, and now what will your approach be. When will the proper safe guards be put in place to control this rampaging out of control system, when will the suffering of the citizens be stopped?

In closing the first part of this announcement, we are going to post this message to Capt. Bauman via the sheriffs e-mail system, it is the only way of ensuring it gets on the desk of Mitchell and the best method of letting the citizens know he is totally aware of this situation. No longer will he hide behind "not knowing" or being "unaware" no "ism's" here Mr. Mitchell, just straight talk and the need for you to step down. The citizens await your reply.

I am a little bit confused by this post, is this a comment that Brown made to the news paper concerning Mitchell, or if you can just break this down with a little more clariy, what portion is Mitchells words what is Browns. I think it is a problem to view the Native Americans in this county as a homogenous unit. I mean, are all the Europeans going to vote the same way? Why do you think all the Native folks will? I believe that things within that community are a bit more complicated then that. Same with the Hispanics - I believe that in this county they are mostly of Mexican descent, but there are Columbians, Peruvians, and many other nations represented to my knowledge. Mr. Rivero for instance is Cuban. Can one safely assume that community is going to vote as a bloc? In other words it might not be a good idea to get complacent.
 

I am "out of County" but I follow this due to my love of sailing and the abuse of power, than subsiquent justice that took place in Lake Co. If Mitchell and Hopkins are so very bad (and I would agree they are) why don't you all just start a recall against them? Pretty simple process, not too expensive and it would sure send a message.

post 3:03 and post 3:26 those are good posts, and 303 you are correct in that it is not a reason for complacency by any stretch of the imagination, Everyone should know that a women who is hispanic and is deeply entrenced in helping the hispanic community for many years in the county is on Rivero's campaign team, and this is of course going to be a big help in garnering that voting block. From the Indian perspective, Mitchell is not held in high esteem within the entire indian community regardless of their different sects, however we do agree with you that you can't count all those votes yet that would be making a tactical error we think.

Post 3:26 as you may know we are calling for the DSA to issue a vote of no confidence aganist Mitchell, now we realize they will not do this as they are in his back pocket, and we could go down the road of a recall process, but it doesn't have legal teeth in it, however it would send a hell of a message indeed. Now for all intents and purposes the out-cry from the community is doing just that. We are looking into the viability of a recall and the legal aspects of how it would have to be framed, it would entail a lot of leg work and not to much money. So it is something that is being looked into and the idea is a good one. We are not sure if the time and effort this close to the election would be the direction to send our time in, but again we are trying to look at all the factors to see what might be viable. Remebering we are all un-paid volunteers here, and spending a great deal of time and effort in this cause, which we of course are willing to do. Why is the so called debate being restricted to law enforcement and a few select people? Who the heck do these people think they are working for? If you plan a public forum it should, it must be open to the entire community who will be making a decision on who they will vote for. So far it looks like a landslide write in win for Crusty the Clown, the most qualified candidate.
 

Anyone can stage a debait and either make it public or private. What they CANNOT do is have a debait using public funding and make it private.

We need to know who attends, were they on duty and being paid, who pays for the facility, and who if a majority of any elected body attends which if they do it requires conformance with the open meetings laws.

If you read the Grand Jury report a fews years back; It took 2-3 sessions for the Grand Jury to resolve/investigate 32 complaints from parents regarding Child Protective Services and the cases are still open: REASON??? The Grand Jury Chairperson Brawn Locke made 3 appointments with Jon Hopkins (He needed information to complete the investigation to finalize the case) to which Hopkins never showed for the appointments.......I heard Mr. Locke filed a complaint against Hopkins for the non-response to the Grand Jury. Case still open and 32 parents have suffered from ignored complaints and non response from Government on issues involving children. Read the Grand Jury final reports to verify that this complaint was ignored by Hopkins.
Another case brought to Mr. Hopkins involved a long time business owner in Lakeport; who had collected many documents of employee theft while she was hospitalized. When she couldn't get Hopkins to file charges against her employee "because she didn't have enough evidence" according to Hopkins. When she asked for all her files to be returned he told her they had all been lost; and couldn't find them anymore. This is pure incompetance......Hopkins should be recalled but I think it is too late. Just vote him out and press charges against him for sure so that he can't do this again.
 

Not only that but it is reported that alot of the grand jury is Mitchell or Hopkins supporters. So the odds not to good there.

1/2 @ 8:38...I was told that the DA does have a certain amount of control over court room assignments, the person who told me is a very well known lawyer here in town. He works everyday in those court rooms and has no reason to make it up. Sometimes the DA's power can be as simple as getting some dumb clerk to do his bidding, so they do it just to be a brown noser.

The BOS had to know what was going on, If they didn't they weren't doing their job. Their job is to oversee all departments and programs that affect the county. I believe the reason those in the public sector didn't question or inquire about Mitchell's "Helicopter Unit Plan" to the BOS was because I for one thought it was being done with their knowledge. How could something be going on without at least one of them knowing or at the very least hearing the "rumor" that was going around for such a long time? Perhaps they thought the program could be grandfathered in after it was completed? Now that the audit of the money part is complete? There might be a possibility that the pay the money back part may include others besides Mitchell and Garzoli?

Did anyone read the Lake County News? Seems that Garzoli's little helicopter training issue will cost the county about $97,000.00 for his screw up.

Once again Mitchell's lack of supervising his management ends up in the news. This on the heals of the biggest 2009 story "Bismark Dinius" and the racial profiling issues. Yes I'll vote for Rivero, why the hell would I want Mitchell who can't even handle supervising two lieutenants and two captains?

I can not attend but would appreciate someone bringing up the fact to the BOS that Garzolli flying was going against the aviation regulations. Well well and who broke the 100,000 dollar breaking news, thats right we did, a couple of days ago, now I urge everyone to read the post concerning the cover-up the BOS is going to attempt to make it seem like they are being pro-active, vs totally responsible for the "money" you know the money. We have received more information on the upcoming Tuesday BOS meeting concerning helicoptergate..Since due to the lack of monetary oversight by the BOS and the potential loss of 100,000 dollars associated with the Garzoli flight training of which the DEA says they are not liable for the bill as the flights were not authorized the BOS is in hot water. The BOS is going to try and cover their rearends, they are going to try and fool the public into thinking they are being proactive in this situation when it is an activity they should have been aware of from the beginning. Therefore they are going to call Garzoli into a closed door meeting, It has been indicated that in order to cover their rearend as described they are going to tell Garzoli to roll over on Mitchell or come up with the 100,000 dollars!!! Two final points here do not let the BOS pull the wool over your eyes, and demand to know the results of not only the audit, but of the closed door meeting, remember they will try to make themselves look good in the outcome, but now because transparency is so important, and we have given you the full view and the results of the closed door meeting should be reveled.

Also we sent to Capt. Bauman two days ago this message above and our original post concerning the 100,000. To those on the inside who helped us with this aspect of the investigation we are very thankful.

As we have stated before and as we have sent a message to Mitchell through Bauman, we have asked him to step down, and step down now, you can call it retirement if you want we really don't care just get the hell out of the county.

These are excellent questions which were posted earlier in the day concerning Garzoli gate. Burkurt as in Brendon, is associated with all of this, he is the DEA head in this area, and you know the DEA is trying to cover their asses on this one. We have trouble in river city, Mitchell knew about the whole deal, invoices are missing this is a nightmare.

By the way this is just the beginning as we have been saying weeks and weeks, Mitchell, Hopkins, we are going to say it again, it is time to step down, it is time to go, don't run for election, the loss will be landside in nature. This corruption is beyond the pale, you cannot get out of this one. We have information pouring in, and none of it is good. Fair warning.

More inside information coming in, phones are ringing off the hook, here is the interesting situation, guess who will have to prosecute Mitchell if Garzoli rolls on him. Yup the DA Mr. hopkins will be given the task of that. Wow won't that be interesting. Mitchell thru him under the bus in the Dinius questions as well as Perdock, now I guess Hopkins will get the chance to save himself, by proclaiming he lis going after Mitchell. Will he? In my letter of resignation dated 11/21/97 after 18 years with the Lake Co. Sheriff's dept. I stated that my resignation was due to "the lack of direction from the command staff and the discrimination I had witnessed first hand e.g., employee discipline or the lack thereof in some cases and the selective treatment of certain individuals" This appears to be one of those cases lack of discipline or was it Garzoli's father-in-law keeping him from being fired?

We will update you concerning the information presented.

This is an important message to the citizens of lake county, there is going to be an organized protest at the January 11th debate at the Kelseyville high school, this is the debate the public has not been invited to. We have a lot of information to get out concerning this protest, which will be held at the building where the debate is taking place. The citizens of this county will not allow Mitchell to diminish the public's participation in such an important event. We understand that Mr. Rivero is going to attend the debate. There are organizers working now to get the posters, bull horns and what ever else is needed for the protest. Organizers are working on ride shares for those that cannot drive. There is much planning to be done, and we are asking for everyone to be there, times will be posted at a later date. We have other information concerning who else is attending or is being allowed to attend and it is not a pretty picture, we will explain more of that in the next few days, Citizens of Lake County it is time, the new year is here we will be increasing our attacks on Mitchell and Hopkins, on the corrupt DSA as well as others. The information we have gotten today on this debate, will alarm you. We are clarifying certain facts at this time and will be posting on an on-going basis. We need all people to be at this protest, as this will launch our first of many organized marches and protests against this corrupt organization.
