i believe EEOC is still on going, and as reported earlier there is a further investigation on going, with several individuals participating from within the county. The exact nature and level of those individuals is under wraps right now, however information is coming out and who is involved and what their directives should be forthcoming in a few days.

am I correct that KPFZ had Hopkins on the radio yesterday, and allowed no call ins for questions etc. A closed comment political rant allowed by Hopkins and allowed by KPFZ, without community input? Please someone confirm with me this situation. If in fact this is the case, we need to question the motives of our community radio, payed for by the citizens, it appear that if this is the case Tim, Andy and others are using our public radio to further their political cause, they must be brought to task for this if in fact what is described is the case. Where are your alliances Tim, Andy, what is going on here. We don't want to hear the excuse of oh ya well we are going to do another show that allows call ins. That don't fly.
 

Obviously Tim and Andy are in on the conspiracy. This is truely larger than first suspected. To think Law Enforcement ci corrupt, the Judicial system is corrupt and not the Press. Well Lake County that just about wraps up the constitution. Tine to call in the FBI and the US Attorneys Office. The Feds need to come in and take this county over.

At this point, we don't know any details of Perdock's medical
condition. Wilkinson adds that while Perdock was on leave, Sheriff Rod
Mitchell informed him "he was the subject of an internal affairs
investigation concerning allegations of misconduct". She provided no
details of the allegations and added that the investigation is being
carried out by the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office, that the final
report should be finished sometime around August 15th.
In his original motion for access to Perdock's personnel records, Bismarck Dinius' defense
attorney Victor Haltom asks for access to records that are "germaine to
issues concerning alleged dishonesty, moral turpitude, falsification of
testimony, fabrication of evidence, making material misstatements,
incompetence, aggressive behavior, racial or gender bias, actual or
attempted violence, excessive force, and/or the filing of false
reports."
 

If that is a good cop look out.
 

Garzoli took a demotion over the helicopter stuff, that way Mitchell
can't take any actions. The DA can if it found to be criminal.
 

There in lies the problem and what we have been saying all along, both Mitchell and Hopkins must go, there is no question of that, I would suspect that the DA has never even thought about looking at actual criminal allegations against Mitchell, not going to happen with this DA. And isn't that interesting, even with Mitchell throwing the DA under the bus on the Dinius trial the DA still sits by and does nothing, what power is it that Mitchell has over Hopkins, may be if Hopkins would come clean he would have a chance but alas that is not going to happen either. Hey may be the BOS will look at it, oh no wait that won't work, hey maybe Anita Grant will look at it, oh no wait that won't work, hey may be the grand jury can be called in, oh wait no that won't work. Garzoli might have taken a demotion over the helicopter deal, but an Internal Affairs investigation can still be conducted. The reason is simple, if Garzoli took a demotion for operating the helicopter against policy than he can't be punished. But if during the IA, and after his demotion, it is found that he modified the DEA contract without Mitchell's consent, he can be disciplined for falsifying documents, misuse of authority and misconduct. To take the self demotion, he would have to admit to ALL of the misconduct, not just operating the helicopter without approval.

Mitchell and a whole lot of other people can, and most likely will be brought up on criminal charges and this forum can be instrumental in that justice. Mitchell needs to have his power taken away from him and not have the ability to graduate to another situation or ANY position in government where he is in control again.
Mitchell does NOT act alone and any one who was an accomplice that doesn’t come forward needs to go down with Mitchell. Every cell of the corruption needs to be removed.
As for calling in the FBI the data needs to be gathered. The FBI, after all, has budget restraints too, and Lake county is distant from them. Agencies like the FBI pick the lower fruit from the tree first to make sure their numbers insure the funding they need each year, so the more data collected and verified by this forum the better.
We can not expect the FBI to come in like a magic pill. Lake county has been sick for a very long time.
We need to be empowered and all follow the Code of Ethics of Law enforcement by being law abiding citizens with a watchful eye insuring transparency and having the courage to report illegal activities on BOTH sides of the law. Individual efforts create cumulative results. It’s the honor system and it works.

I attended the public meeting on illegal marijuana production in the national forests and public lands. Four agencies gave presentations with slide shows. The first presenter was Matt Knudsen from BLM.. He commented that it only took him 10 minutes to come up with enough pictures for his presentation. Matt, did it only take you 10 minutes to make the slide show for the other 3 agencies who presented slides as if they were their own? Did you think that we in the audience wouldn’t notice they were the same photos over and over. You didn’t even change the angles of view on most of them.

I want to be clear I am strongly against illegal growing on Fed lands, and yes I grow legal medical marijuana . I am also against government propaganda. You sir are a liar. Your supposition that there is enough PVC to stretch from Oregon to the Mexican boarder is ridiculous. Your slide show certainly didn’t show any such representation. Your calculations of how much water it takes is also way off. Your 3-5 gallons per plant a day would kill any marijuana plant. Do the math if you use 3-5 million gallons per garden every lake in northern California would be dry. If you simply looked at their growing pattern and intake requirements you would have know how silly your calculations are. By the way Matt here is a growing tip for you, a little stress between waterings makes a stronger plant.

You showed one bag of illegal pesticide and make it sound like you have an EPA emergency, its illegal and its wrong, but lying about the facts is not the way to go about this, it make you look real bad and is not the way to go about doing this. You also said because the DEA gives you money you have to take out the plants instead of the garbage as it is their policy. It is up to you to disagree with them and take a stand. When you chop down a marijuana plant it is done, it can’t be replanted it can’t be harvested, it is worthless. There is no sense in spending hundreds of thousands of dollars in man hours and resources gathering, and helicoptering/trucking and digging holes at the landfill to bury them. And by the way it is excellent compost and left to compost in the forest it is not some big environmental hazard of the future like you stated. It is the cleanest part of the landfill if you do bring it there which you do not have to do. Use your time and energy to remove the garbage not the worthless pot plants you just cut down.

Matt you are way to young to remember the government propaganda films like “Refer madness”, “Marijuana the devils weed”, or “assassin of youth”. You should watch them it is the same kind of scare tactics you are involved in today. Again Matt we agree that illegal grows are not to be tolerated, but you are clueless in your facts, and your approach leaves much to be desired.
 

A recent European study shows it may prevent Alzheimer, imagine that Matt, short term memory loss can cure long term memory loss. Currently Kaiser is requesting officially that the government establish clinical trials of Marijuana for the study of its properties to cure or help anti-emetic, anti glaucoma, as well as several other medical conditions, including the treatment of AIDS. Not only that but it is already established that it assist greatly in Epilepsy and Parkinson’s just ask Michael J. Fox, who has Parkinson’s and credits his amazing recovery to Marijuana. It also is known to be a pain reliever, of course we knew that already.

Stanford university is also recommending clinical trials for Marijuana. And in the biggest blow yet to the anti-pot paranoia groups, the AMA on November 11th requested that the federal government review Marijuana restrictions, reclassify it and make it easier to conduct clinical trials. Hmmmm wonder why they won’t, couldn’t have anything to do with money could it. Oh by the way in the biggest cover-up in recent memory the government has taken out patents on the production of hash, THC oil, and plant processing. Gee Matt I wonder why they have done that, couldn’t be to protect their monetary interests in the future could it? By the way Matt you can look that up by going to the patent office web page and do the search.
 

Marijuana is a class one drug according to the FEDS worse then class two crank and coke. Doesn’t make much sense does it Matt. Come on fella’s its not the pot smokers who are paranoid here, is it? We need our local government to be accountable for the money they spend. What’s wrong with our BOS. Their giving the FEDS county money to clean up the federal lands. I don't smoke MJ and I have no intentions of doing it. I don’t break the law, I obey it.
I would, however, consider smoking marijuana if my oncologist suggested it and wrote a prescription for it. If the pain of my cancer was too great and I needed morphine I would most likely take that too under a doctors instruction.
I would suggest FIRST the FEDS in Lake county close down the watering holes where the Mitchell Mob drinks and that might make our community safer. At one time in the early 80’s the statistics were that about 20% of the drivers on the Lake county roads had high alcohol levels in their blood, enough to impair judgment. The cops I know drink themselves stupid after work. I would prefer they smoked dope.
Then there are the tobacco smokers that should be clamped down on. Maybe the Feds should go to the tobacco states and shut them down as cigarettes cost all of us millions of dollars each day.
Legalize marijuana and control it like any other crop.
I know people who smoke cigarettes are pretty much self centered and addicted and so are the alcoholics that I know. Cigarettes and alcohol are legal and taxable and regulated and why not marijuana?
If marijuana has shown to have positive effects with the treatment of cancer and other diseases, let's put our cards on the table. Cancer pharmaceuticals make $200 Billion dollars a year and without success for most cancers, in fact the chemo and radiation that are standard treatment are though in Europe to be 66% the CAUSE of cancer and its advancement.
Cigarettes and booze don’t cure any disease that I have heard of.
Why don't we put some money in to the study of marijuana and be honest about it? In any event I do not ever think I would smoke marijuana, but there are folks who do and it apparently has a use. Not just to keep the Feds in a job or the corrupt of the LCSO in sitting high cotton.

Funny, I never heard Garzoli say he was going to leave the county hanging after he was trained. All I heard is a guy looking for a new career now that he and his boss are having issues.

Well then nobody knows what your point is, he also didn't say he crashed the helicopter, he said there was an incident where it was damaged or crashed. Damaged or crashed, how about this "I crashed the helicopter flying illegally and damaged it on the taxpayers dime, and now I need to get the hell out of town. There is other information coming out that indicates he had been working on a personnel business venture which would happen as a result of him getting his license, that will come out later. So many deputies in the past two years have gone down; Perdock, Navarro, Garzoli, Beland, Morshed and I bet there were even more. What kind of management is Mitchell running? This might be why NOBODY in management was never in the military. Maybe Mitchell and his GOB's need to read the Army NCO manual or attend some officer training courses (all of the branches give them all the time).

Forget the marijuana issue, no cop will ever side on the pro-marijuana side. Until the law changes, just try focusing on how to clean this mess. We have two of Mitchell's managers involved in serious situations that should have been handled differently. One Captain pending some time of action, one lieutenant demoted, one sergeant forced into retirement and two demoted. In case you don't know, the department may have 186 employees, but there are only 23 deputies.
 

There is no more audio tapes from the radio broadcast. They took it off air at the end of the recording.
 

What an excellent post 8:14, hit the nail on the head, it is the premise and position this citizens group has taken all along. No matter how you spin it, this is a result of poor and misguided leadership. The GOB network is built on nearly a generation of time, the network has had no oversight, and has grown into a corruption filled system. Mitchell and in many instances the DA are responsible for this condition. There are good cops in the system it needs to change for them, it needs to change for the community, and the leadership is caught in paridigms of ill conceived poorly managed understandings about how LE enforcement should operate and communicate with the citizens. It is sad to see, but there is hope and it can change.
 

This is to Dave Garzoli, It has been over 8 hours since your job search was aired. There have been only two of your buddy's that have tried to come to your aid. Personally I think it was only one trying to be two. I don't think I would rely on the Officer Down call for awhile. They say you should treat people well on the way up. You never know who you will meet on the way down.

No one here has become a laughing stock. The SO is full of common criminals who twist the law and contribute to chaos in our homes. It has gone on for a very long time unchecked Dutra, Drew, LaFavre, and Henderson all march to the corrupt band of idiots and have contributed to grand theft. Perdock is on an Administrative Leave, I had an operation once and I thought I would only be out for six weeks but found out that My situation I had to extend it by double then triple, eventually I was able to resume working

An injury occurring while on Admin. leave would not then stop the Admin leave pay, the injury would be a different non-connection. I think maybe people might be missing the mark here. He, some would suspect is on leave due to shall wed say stress, in other words they put him on leave for "mental" reasons, in other words, he or they would be claiming mental stress, he is going crazy, etc etc. This is the most typical abuse of the system in that manner and in a situation such as this. It is done because it is easy to claim and there is no way of telling when there is a "cure"...So you can bet this is the situation, the BOS approved or where aware and had no issues with it, and I am sure they would tell you if they could that the sheriffs dept spun them a nice tail about how he is in just such bad shape, and can't carry on the duties of his job due to the stress of the trial etc. Meanwhile Dinius losing his job, under trial stress for 2 years etc. gets nothing. Oh and by the way a women is dead and she was hit by a speeding boat, but you know what no harm done accidents do happen.
 

I agree that might be what they want us to believe.I think Mitchell and Hopkins agreed that they couldn't afford to have Perdock and possibly Garzoli On board for the elections. There are about 40 deputies (but 26 is about right if you remove management and sergeants). There are a total of 186 employees including the deputies, correctional officers and civilian employees. Which brings up another question. Why is there 4 captains (5 counting the CO's), and a bunch of sergeants, but only one lieutenant and that is Gary Hall? Garzoli was kicked down several months ago. I heard it is because Mitchell couldn't even get 1 other sergeant that wants to work for his management.

Come on Mitchell or any LCSO, if Rivero was a lire in the racism case, than why is he not on Admin Leave? If Lande also lied about racism, why isn't Santa Cruz doing an IA on him for filing a false police report? Now you can't do anything to Ringen or the lawyer, but you could have at least said the EEOC was done and cleared his deputies without saying a name. You wouldn't even state the status of the EEOC complaint. That's because it is still ongoing!

Yes we are constantly amazed at the triteness of these people, in fact it is a bit scary that this level of ignorance exist in Our local LE, we know that the majority of their actions are based on a massive fear in them that we have created, that fear then turns into anger. It is amusing in one way but quite disconcerting that these are the people representing the LE. The sad part is these people making the good ones in LE look so bad, it is a shame, that they soil the reputation of so many people in this way.
 

well it is fairly easy to see which LEO's are doing it. They are either sitting at the jail/sub station or on their I-phone etc, under-supervised on the county dime and playing games. It is the people working swings or graves. Why don't they see how bad they make their good LE co-workers look. I agree with post 12:51, of course the long term key if one were to assume that we cannot convince these guys to step down, even though it would be in their best interest is the election. We will be if it becomes necessary on a major campaign to get out the vote, and to get every citizen possible to go to the polls. We know we will have a distinct advantage in this aspect of things, because we already have all the merchants, 90 percent of the baby boomers, you will not see these guys getting any endorsments, and we have all those associated with the growers and collectives, we are also currently working with a number of groups who are indicating a willingness to provide funding to ensure the removal of these two leaders of corruption. Now it may be that Mitchell and Hopkins haven't gone to these ends yet, but as we look ahead we are already working that side of the equation. Also remember we are working on a lot more investigative situations that will be brought to bear in the same manner as the Disability issues of sentencing, on the Dinius trial, on Garzoli, etc etc. Which by the way have had a huge impact on perceptions in the citizens of the county concerning Rodney and Hopkins. Also as an update the request for investigation to the commission on Judical Performance in San Francisco.

Don't anyone out there think for moment that we are not going to continue to unravel and remove the ivory tower from these individuals. These people have wrongfully usurped the power from the citizens over the years and we will not stand for it anymore. For anyone underestimating us, we gladly welcome you to do so. One of our advantages is that very condition they display. You want to play ball with us you will lose, you want to join us we will welcome you. The choice is yours but I would not base your decision on the assumption that we are not a formidable opponent. That is a fair warning, you will get no more.
 

As mentioned above the request for investigation on our local judges has been received by the commission in San Fransisco,it is being processed and we will update as to the direction of this investigation as time goes on.

Garzoli flips a car and injures a passenger deputy for life. He then is involved in unauthorized helicopter training that ended in a crash. Perdock lies to investigators and than lies on the stand. Morshed also lies on the stand. Mitchell refuses to get another agency to the Dinius/Perdock crash. Chawcowski is accused of racism and is now back on the street. Beland is terminated only for his testimony. Ringen is forced to retire after reporting racism and Rivero reports racism that Mitchell said an investigation showed he lied, but nothing done. How can ANYONE believe that Mitchell knows what the hell he is doing. I've never seen such a mess in such a small little department. It makes you wonder if the deputies are this bad, I can't wait to hear what the jailer's are doing or did.
 

Post 4:16 it is amazing isn't it. Oh we got some jailer stories, haven't even touched that one yet. It is really something, we have more investigations going then you can imagine. We have actually had to prioritize the corruption incidents, just like in a triage situation. For example the reason we moved so quickly on the Disability sentencing situation is because we knew people were being hurt, It was not necessarily the most grievous of crimes per sey but none the less important to expose Mitchell and to help those disabled people.

LAKE COUNTY – Local officials are urging community members to be careful in hiring potential Santas this holiday season.

On Wednesday, District Attorney Jon Hopkins' office issued an advisory about reports of persons who have been convicted of child molestation offering their services as Santa Claus.

Before hiring a person or allowing a person to play Santa, local businesses should consider looking on Megan's List to make sure they are not exposing children to potential inappropriate
 

Talk about "witch hunts" Well don't that just take the cake! Poor LE! How MANY witch hunts has LE done to good honest people of LC and then said "you'll get your day in court". So you go to court..that is if you have money to fight... then you get to see how the judges are in bed with the DA and LE. Even when it is clear your civil rights were walked on by LE the judge can't see it through his rose colored glasses. LE gets up on the stand and lies.... while their on overtime! Still you fight on and then maybe you find some relief but not after spending thousands. What about the guy who makes just a tad too much for a public defender? He is screwed and has to take a plea for something he didn't do. No wonder LE feels so high and mighty, they are the ones wearing the robes and carrying the torches and draging people out of their homes, just like back in Salem!

Ah yes, people have been asking about Perdock's medical leave/admin leave?. Well, it must not be admin leave because he is not tethered to his house. How do I knoww? Because he has been seen many times out doing construction jobs(side jobs making extra money). You can verify this on your own. Ask the Hidden Valley Community Church if he has done any work for them. Also, keep your eyes open and look for him driving about the county in his white Ford F250 diesel truck complete with lumber rack and tool boxes in the bed.
I sure hope the good people of Lake County enjoy paying him his sheriff's department salary (for not going to work and causing Mitchell more embarassment) while he is working and making money on the side.
 

You dumped my earlier post, and started a new page or thread after being spammed or flamed. But one of the things that ridiculously long post said was that the moderator (admininstrator?) excises posts that are not in lock step with his/her opinions. Seems to be true, since my post around 8:20 this morning was there, then gone. Just tried to bring some healthy skepticism to the discussion, and point out that civil discourse is beneficial, rants are not. But if all you want to post is stuff that looks like Glenn Beck wrote it, then that's what you'll get, instead of rational thought. You can still be adamant and passionate and steadfast in your opinions and beliefs without being ugly. Well, some can....
 

Remember that many totalitarian regimes start by punishing speech and burning books, indulging in state censorship. If this blog is truly democratic, all opinions must be welcomed, not just those in agreement with the majority of posters.

To Post 12:14 Opinions are left on the blog, and you can simply go back through the thread and you will see this is the case, yes indeed we do remove post, we just removed one for profanity who is against the LE as we indicated above. There will always be post removed which are those that only want to post to say we are bad people and they don't like us etc etc. or the multiple post to try and bring down the web site or of course the profane or simply non-communicative comments which serve no purpose to the subject at hand and take up space and effect the flow of the thread.

To post 1:59, we do understand what you are trying to say, let us give you some overview of this. First of all this site runs through the google system google has indicated they no longer track and maintain IP data on these sites this is one of the reasons we choose this method. As well in a recent court case google was asked to provide IP address's to a LE agency, google refused and were taken to court, the supreme court ruled that google is not required to provide this information, and it was a violation of freedom of speech to do so, this as well is another reason we choose this method. To further that overview, we have brought in several civil right groups and lawyers to review this site and what we are doing and had them look at random selection of comments, all parties have indicated we and the people who post here have nothing at all to be concerned with. Again the very reason we choose this method.

A couple of more items, to all posting pro LE corruption or against it, please lets not use the caps thing, everyone can read and there is no need to use the yelling with caps system we can't hear it anyway. Please post give your opinion thoughts and ideas on anything and the only thing we ask is to leave out the profanity, this is a policy we exert to all parties posting.

Last but not least, all the corruption supporters should remember who is running this site, and why were running this site. You do not dictate to us our methods and our choices, we will try to be fair, but we will not be bullied, we have the power now, and we are doing this to bring down the terrible corruption in this county and return justice to the citizens. It gets rough and a bit bloody sometimes, and that is the way it has to be, there will be a bit of blood spilled in this type of entrenched GOB condition. Last it is our choice to give out details and facts when we choose to, not when you want us to, again you are not in control, We know that is hard to take but it is the hand you are holding, you all did this to yourselves now it has to be fixed.
 

In response to the Admin Leave, just being on Admin Leave does not lock you down to your house. I've seen several deputies through my career placed on admin leave. Those deputies were seen all over the county. The county can, and do, adjust admin leave to suit their interest. Now if Perdock is on Admin Leave and is collecting a paycheck from another employer during the time he is on admin leave, that is against not only policy, but brings into Workmen Comp problems if Perdock is injured.
 

We did this to outselves, the citizens of Lake County? I think not. So I repeat that a good discussion is important, issues are (or can be) important, but the name-calling, the slanderous accusations without supporting facts, are not productive. If you've got real dirt, spill it. If not, this is nothing more than a gossip site. That's my major concern, that it's easy to snipe from the sidelines, as I must admit I have done myself in the past. But I was young(er) and dumb(er). It's not right ethically, morally, spiritually or in any other way proper. That was and is my point. Say what you have to say, but always be ready to back it up. That's the right thing to do.
 

To post 3:35 the Did this to yourselves post was directed to the Corrupt LE not the citizens of Lake County, just a little confusion there might have been the way we posted it, at any rate we just wanted to clear that up. It is at best difficult to maintain this method of communications, as all will agree, we all kinds of people from all walks of life posting, and the hard job is trying to maintain a professional presentation. However as well we know people get angry, and they have a right to be, considering the level of corruption that exists in this county, so we do give some leeway in that regard. Now you must also remember that there are often times "methods to the postings" and sometimes feelers are put out for purposes the general viewing public are not instantly made aware of. We do not want anyone to pull back on their opinions and thoughts, for example, to say I wonder if Rodney is getting with so and so, I have heard that this situation happened, is fine to say, now if a person has an exacting fact, based on an eyewitness account and they post that in that manner that also is fine. Remember this is a discussion forum not everything single thing posted must be known as an actual fact. We open up to thought processes and communications through these musings. There is nothing wrong with that, we want the details and as all can tell we have used them to great benefit in bringing out the corruption issues in this county. We want everyone to post to their hearts content, you should of course as already mentioned leave out the profanity, and keep us on the high ground in that regard. We understand the anger and concern of the citizens of this county, the battle is on, and we will not stop until the goals are acheived. Open letter to Lake County Deputy Sheriff’s Association President Gary Frace:

On Dec. 10 you notified me that the Lake County Deputy Sheriff’s Association (DSA) was hosting a candidates’ night on January 11, 2010, at the Kelseyville High School. You invited me to debate Sheriff Mitchell and told me the audience would include members of the DSA, Lake County Correctional Officer’s Association, Lakeport Police, Clearlake Police, Lake County Probation Department and the District Attorney Victim-Witness program.

You added that the “press” would be invited, but the “public” would be excluded. Although I’m grateful for this opportunity, I’m bothered that you intend to exclude the community.

As law enforcement officers we are here to serve our community. We should be accountable to the citizens of Lake County who are collectively our employers. In order to restore the community’s trust, we must have transparency and open dialog, not closed-door backroom sessions.

The DSA should afford the people of Lake County the same respect afforded the members of law enforcement and invite them to this debate.

I believe excluding the community is a mistake and a step backwards for Lake County law enforcement’s public relations. I respectfully request that you reconsider.

What is "corruption?" By using that word, or its variants, I'm sure we do not all mean the same thing. Do we mean performing illegal acts under the color of authority? Do we mean accepting monies for doing so? Do we mean ignoring the law to the benefit or detriment of one or many or a specific group? What constitutes the bulwark of corruption? Is a misinterpretation of the law corrupt? Is knowing what is right, and doing otherwise corrupt? Is corruption a term that can be applied at large to any elected individual, regardless of performance or attitude or record? If I am a government official (I'm not) and do somthing I'm not supposed to do, either during or outside the performance of my governmental duties, am I corrupt? Or inept? Or ignorant? This term is bandied about so freely herein, that's it's hard to ascertain what is meant. Corrupt implies a malicious heart and malicious intent. Is that what's meant? Same with GOB? Just what constitutes a GOB? Is it longevity? Heritage? Impunity? Is any elected (or appointed) offici8al a GOB based on tenure? Or performance? Someone posted a while back that (implying) that both Mitchell and Hopkins were GOBs. Same with a reference to Rob Brown. So what about people like Rivero? Is he a GOB, because he's been in law enforcement for a few years? Is Anderson a GOB because he worked for the sheriff's department years ago? Because he represents (or has) several law enforcement officers in family law matters? Is Rhodes a GOB because he worked for the sheriff's office more than 14 years ago? Just what does the term imply? Again, labels without definitions seem so easy, so broadly painted, that they don't explain, only taint. Let's get down to the real terms. We don't like anybody, but we certainly don't like who we have. Where was the outcry when Hopkins ran unopposed four years ago? Did anyone scream for a real electoral race, a real choice? I didn't hear any voices. Same with Mitchell. Didn't he run unopposed in the last two elections? Where was the moaning and wailing and lamentations then?
 

Rod Mitchell, like Frank Rivero, never held a management position before being elected sheriff. Is that a good thing? Do you want someone who knows how to run a sheriff's department? Don't get me wrong, this isn't an endorsement of Rod. Not at all. Where are the truly qualified candidates? I'm not sure electing someone who has sued the last two law enforcement agencies where he's worked is the right choice either, and Rod may not be the right choice. But know the facts before you decide. Throwing out any incumbent is sometimes a good idea. Not always. Maybe this is the right choice, maybe not. In the info posted on the sheriff's web site, we hear Riverso saying he was never offended by any comments, never took them to heart, never even thought they were offensive in any way. Now it's an issue of discrimination? What's up with that? Make a statement, stick to it, or be ready to say why you've changed your mind. Same goes for you, Rod. Don't waffle, man up and say what really happened with Perdock and the Admin leave stuff....

The simple goal is the removal of Mitchell and Hopkins, the details of who will be their replacement, will of course be worked out in the many days and weeks ahead, that is a simple one. There are many plans and ideas being worked in regards to the upcoming election, and if they don't step down, these plans will be implemented and the simple goal is their removal. We will not accept another Rod or John, period.

To post 4:48, Rivero HAS held a management position. What would you call starting a business from scratch, turning it into a multi-million dollar business with many employees? Having to run the business and handle the payroll and all the other items a business needs, whould you not call that being in management?
Then you say he has sued the last two agencies he worked for. Again you are wrong. He worked for the San Francisco Police Department and never sued them. He sued the Medical Examiner's Office which has no conection to the Police department. That law suit had to do with the way the indigent dead were being treated by the medical examiners office.
Get your facts straight before you start talking out your backside.
 

I just watched the Lande video on the LCSO website. The deputies were very professional and I respect all of them (although Martin talks too much). I think those FTO's need to review that video because Lande never stated he was trained in racial profiling, it was Dan Noyes. Now how many times have we seen a news reporter change or tweak the statement of a person. Lande's reports stated he saw racial profiling, other deputies telling him how to racial profile and racial comments. I looked over the records on the LCSO website, but I could not find ANY statement from Lande stating he was trained by his FTO's to racial profile.

Now I know Tommy and Brian reads this blog all the time. Would you two like to comment about that? My personal belief is that you four should not get involved in this.
 

I agree with the Rivero statement on his law suits. He sued the Medical Examiners Office while he was a civilian running a mortuary. He was NOT a police officer and had not been a cop for several years. His lawsuit was just as the above blogger stated, it was over how the unclaimed deceased were handled.
 

Yeah, Mitchell worked in Safeway stacking vegetables. He was a sergeant for a few years and that's it. That must be why ALL of management at the time would not support him for sheriff.

Chowcowski is the same Sergeant involved in the incident where Mitchell lied and said Chowcowski used the term "Jose Doe." Go to Rivero's website and you'll see where Rivero explains that Chawcowski actually said "what if Jose is down," referring to Chowcowski not wanting to provide medical aid to "Joses," ie Mexicans. Read the memo Rivero sent Mitchell the day of the incident, telling indeed.

I wonder if Chwailkowski will fly off into a steroidal rage and challenge Andrews to fight. This is exactly what he admitted to doing to Lande under oath in front of a court reporter during Beland’s appeal hearing last week. According to Chwailkowski, he accosted Lande at the Konocti (UA38) gym and took away his elliptical machine. When Lande protested, Chwialkowski’s challenged him to fight. Rather unstable behavior for a guy who carries a gun for a living. Also, during that same hearing, Chwialkowski said he was the victim of constant racial epithets against Polish people. He accused the LCSO ADMINISTRATION of belittling him and calling him stupid because of his Polish ancestry. He said Polish comments were common, but nobody said anything against Mexicans. So to hear him tell it he is a bully victim. By the way, I have it from a reliable source Rivero recorded the “What if Jose is down,” supervisor meeting and is just waiting for the right time to release it. Keep denying.
