An understanding that we all may have situations come up that requires our neighbor to give a little, and thus we exchange understandings that for the benefit of all our rights we have to fight together to ensure the government doesn't trample on the will of all of us. Word post 739 that has been said here many times the fact of the matter is MJ has been illegal both federally and for the most part state wide for the past 30 years of intense attempts by various LE agencies to stop MJ, this has been to the tune of 50 billion taxpayer dollars, and MJ has increased in use ans sophistication by 100 fold during that time. In our small county the reality is, it doesn't matter what rules and regulations authorities put into place, you can buy MJ in 10 minutes about anywhere in the county, and most who buy here know people here so it is even easier. No matter what people will grow, buy, use, sell, and distribute this commodity in this county in the same manner they always have. All the illegality of the product does is keep the price high and therefore allow for crime associated with it. Slowly the powers that be are getting the picture. Since MJ is not going to be able to be "owned" by a Pharmaceutical company or the government, since it is essentially a tomato plant relative to ease of outdoor growth, no major corporation will be able to take advantage of the public when it is legal. The government has been trying to figure out for years how to capture the market in MJ. In fact if you look at the patent office on the internet you will find that the US Government owns the patents for Hashish oils, Pure THC, Cannibinol, and other components of MJ. That is a fact the government took out all those patents. Very interesting.

Ok GOB's that cat is out of the bag on Victoria Brandon running against Comstock. Now here is a reality check for these being the final days of Comstock. First of all Victoria will field the same election team that put Rushing in office against Gary Lewis. This team is substantial and they are very skilled in getting out the vote, in election campaigning and overall election processes. The support base for Brandon will be all people who support and have supported Rushing in the past and that in and of itself will be numbers that Comstock will not be able to overcome. Victoria is an extremely smart individual, here husband was a noted author, and she has 10 times the intelligence of Comstock. You heard it here first, Comstock is done. Victoria will receive backing from the sierra club which she is the local president of, and a huge host of other organizations from which she will gather significant votes.

Here is a hint don't be surprised to see "others" sign up against Brown, things are in the works but won't give anymore out then that at this time.

Farrington is up in the air right now, and has not made a decision on running, he is waiting to see what field may come up against him.

The opportunity for continued change in the county is approaching and it looks very very good right now.

Lake County Citizens for Responsible Regulations, in association with the Lake County Green Farmers Association, would like to express our disappointment in the decision by the Lake County Board of Supervisors to delay the vote on the Medical Marijuana Cultivation Act of 2012, pending input from an unnecessarily wide array of county agencies.



We believe that certain members of the board may be calling for this input as a way to stall their vote on this very important citizens’ initiative. The Medical Marijuana Cultivation act is a simple, straight forward initiative. Its impact on land use, county finances and agriculture and other agencies are clearly spelled out in the text of the initiative. Therefore, this multi-agency impact inquiry will produce no new information and serve only to burden the agencies tasked with responding to this unnecessary request.



This unfortunate delay in implementation means that cultivation will continue to be unregulated in Lake County. Communities will not have the tools they need to impede problem grows and compassionate use farmers will not have county regulations to guide them as they prepare for the spring planting season. This delay tactic does not serve the needs of the communities that have shown their support for clear regulation with their overwhelmingly positive response to our initiative petition, which collected the signatures needed to qualify in less than three weeks.



We will continue to push for the adoption of the Medical Marijuana Cultivation Act of 2012 - fair, simple regulations that serve the needs of the patients, caregivers and the communities of Lake County.

638, let us be frank(no not rivero), your an idiot, first of all the FPPC is not an agency that undertakes self created investigations. They act soley on the direction of requests for investigations from the public. They only act on sworn statements turned into the agency, once they verify that a complaint has a legitimate basis, they go forward, as in the case of Brown. Brown is really going to have to be careful now about his lying as we all will be watching his next reporting and you can bet he will do it right this time and not lie. If he does he will get his ass nailed with fines and other very nasty conditions. He has received his warning letter, and that along with his attempt at cover-up on his 50,000 dollar tax lien, to which he claimed he did not know he had to pay capital gains on a house sale despite having done so numerous time prior to that is clearly showing him to be a liar, a cheat and man not to be trusted.

As far as Joan goes, kudo's to her, you can placate yourself all you want, the bottom line is that an individual nailed Brown, and as always for the GOB's they never do anything but try to ass cover when their hidden games are uncovered. Remember it is the person you guys have called every name in the book and pretty much said she does not have any validity in who she is that nailed Robby. You guys continue to get your asses kicked by the very people you say don't have a clue. Pretty sad really. We give Joan all the props in the world for taking that action.

We as the Lovelace group have endorsed no one yet in any of the upcoming races for the various positions in the county, when we do you will know it. Once all the canidates have thrown their hat's in the ring, then we will put out our endorsements. If we endorse Joan, then we will gladly say so. You should also know that are actions regardless of the winner of any of the races, is to expose the scum like Rob Brown through the debate and election process, the public ultimately will decide the outcome.

As a person we find it rather sad to disparage a person the way you GOB's do, in Joans case a cancer survivor who has fought very hard for her life, and from Chemo, to other drugs and treatments she went through it appears she has beat this terrible diseases. We might suggest you think twice about your words, as you know Lovelace has an uncanny ability to turn the public against your knuckle dragging ways. You have lost every single battle thus far, we don't anticipate that changing any time soon.

Conference with Legal Counsel: existing litigation pursuant to Government Code Sec. 54956.9(a): Estate of Hatfield v. County of Lake, et al.

This is an agenda item requiring attention from the BOS and county counsel. If you remember this is an old problem from the Mitchell regime. This is the jail suicide, where the sheriffs department and jail personal were warned that Mr. Hatfield was suicidal and that he should be put on special jail watch. The jail people and sheriffs personal were called no less then 10 times to tell them to watch him close or he may make an attempt again. When he was arrested after his parents called LE to assist them there was a hangman's noose hanging in his room. Despite all of this,Hatfield was left on regular jail watch, and no items which could assist a person in killing themselves were removed from his cell. Mental health upon the night of his arrest told LE he needs to go to a mental facility. That request was refused, thus in the end, in jail, on regular watch Hatfield took a sheet from his bunk and hanged himself.

This is the perfect example of why Mitchell had to be removed and the sheriffs department totally changed out by the new organization. None of these facts were totally reported in the local news and only Lovelace upon certain interviews reveled these facts to the public. This is going to cost the county big time and the legacy of the old regime continues to cost the citizens.

I believe Mr. Bauman was on the jail watch at the time of the Hatfield incident, he was quoted as saying "When the hourly bed-check was done we found him hanging in his cell. That was not at the time a bright comment, as it secured the idea and the truth of the matter that they did not put him on any suicide watch despite their knowledge of his condition. It should also be remembered that when Mitchell was meeting with the mental health people in Clearlake shortly before this incident, he was recorded as saying I don't want no crazies in my jail!! So that tells you what his thoughts and ideas were about those that may have mental problems, he did not give a crap and that belief permeated then entire department.

Hello all this is H2C writing our own comment because too many facts were left out.
First fact: Rhonda Chadwick is not the operator nor does she have anything to do with the Collective and its operation.
Second: County presents their case, when they finish H2C then gets to start to defend their position.
Unfortunately Mr Brown, now sitting the chair seat, refused to let me present our case. He repeatedly interrupted me.
We asked the BOS council please explain the rules of this proceeding. She replied that the County presents their case, then the Defendant (H2C) gets to present their case uninterrupted. Then the county can rebut the claims.
Supervisor Brown refused to hear this and continued to act like KING HENRY VIII.

He was completely disrespectful to me and what I stand for. He made it very clear by trying to vote on my case BEFORE I GOT A CHANCE TO DEFEND MYSELF. He said he heard enough without hearing anything.
Thank god the motion didn't get on the table. I thought that the way I was treated was like a second class citizen.
H2C requested that Supervisor Brown and Farrington recuse themselves as they have shown nothing but bias against MMJ industry and its patients.
Their own county council said that if they cant make a decision without bias then they should recuse themselves.
Brown should have recuse himself because of his bad experience with growing on his property and all the grief that came his way from that which was published in all the lake county newspapers. His dislike towards the MMJ industry shows all over his red rosy face, the second he has to answer any opposition to his position. That's not Democracy that's a DICTATORSHIP.
H2C was promised from the beginning by Mr. Comstock that he had no intention of closing down our store. He said that repeatedly yet he brought the motion to the floor to close our store.

The proceeding that took place yesterday on our abatement process was not fair.

Did not Liz intimate in her article something about the Hells Angels, in a slight of hand manner? Might want to think about that. Remember by the way, the Brown act can be violated in a number of different ways. No matter how information on this Rivero notification got out, the fact is the meeting was held behind closed doors and the fact of the exact subject line should as well. If there is just some mention of the sheriff and litigation on a memo, but the totality of the connection to Donny and the reason for Rivero's notification to the board and their subsequent need to hold a closed door meeting is not there then overly detailed information leaked. No matter how you shake it out, even taking Liz out of the picture the details at this point that were revealed violated certain acts.

That letter, that the judge never read that was given to his assistance who is the only one who reads it or even tells the judge what it is about. Would this be something the AG would have to investigate in total, if some aspects of the Brown act or some aspects of the sheriffs rights have been violated? Or is there some other connected aspect of this based on whatever it is Donny is trying to throw at Rivero?

regardless of the Judge not reading the letter, the fact that a person who should know better would not do what was done, again Frank has no knowledge of law rules and protocol, he thinks his position has no boundaries, well he stepped over many lines of illegal actions and now The DA will hold him accountable as anyone should be, stop blaming LCN or Elizabeth she is not the dummy of the county Frank owns that trophy
 

Ya but you guys having been screaming the sky is falling on the sheriff for a year, and I still can say there has not been a single ramification on the sheriff, nothing despite the constant screaming and yelling. Now you are doing it again, saying the DA will hold him accountable. Are you sure what is going to happen? Is this just another reach? I don't mind if you guys can here it is and here is the penalty he paid, but you can't. Not trying to be a smart as* but it is a fact.
 

It seems as though there is never a shortage of armchair experts ever so ready to throw around Brown Act threats which never come to anything. One would be hard pressed to find an example of a Brown Act violation which was ever successfully prosecuted.

Frank is just trying to sue the county for something, anything at all will do. Everybody knows it so everybody is extremely careful around him to avoid giving him an excuse. He's got nothing and will get nothing on that angle but he does have a gift coming.

We agree with you on that one post 1031, we think they are few and far between. Don't know that it should mean the public doesn't try and doesn't ask questions. That really is all this is and has been about asking questions being edgy and not politically correct. However you are correct the odds of this coming to fruition via the Brown act is slim, but we still need to ask the questions.

Seems to me to much information got out, doesn't matter how but that it did, doesn't matter if it was through LCN or that the whole process was flawed. Seems since it was agreed to be ok to have a closed door meeting to protect the party(s) in accordance with the Brown act or other privacy issues then somehow way to much information concerning the details of this was made public.
 

What don't some people get about good public speculation and question asking, and why does it get you so upset? Did you read what Lovelace wrote.

jj is still upset because he couldn't keep his promise to Rod so the next best thing is to trash the sheriff.
Go back and reread the editorial that jj wrote in the campaign and tell me that jj's coverage of the sheriff and comments on the Blog and his own paper aren't in lockstep.
