Yesterday notification of the FPPC investigation was sent to all BOS members and Anita Grant notifying them of this investigation, since we suspected Mitchell and Brown would attempt to keep it under wraps. They now are all aware of the investigation into both Mitchell and Brown by the FPPC.
 

I heard the scientist in the Mitchell camp have discovered a new plant. They're naming it the "Joe Ford" plant.
 

Ya I wondered the same thing about this Bentley gal. Rumours are out there that it is a bit odd she is stumping for Mitchell so hard, and was on the Grand Jury last year. This is sounding a bit problematic at best. Might want to keep an eye on that one, knowing Mitchell you could not put it past him to carry on a little (and I do mean little) extra curricular activity. Hmmmmm interesting.

Thanks Clark for the comment to 313 and to post 410, basically folks 313 was the typical anti Rivero kids posting their silly nonsense. Generally we take down the whining post as they have no substance nor do they add to the communications. So that one was taken down, but the two responses are appropriate for what the knuckle-head posted.

Also the Manifest has posted the entire report from the Grand Jury on the front page of the Manifest concerning the City of Clearlake and Chief McClain. It is to say the least a terrible expose on the city and the PD and the city council. Very interesting and says a lot about the problems in Clearlake. Take a read if you haven't seen it already.

As you bring up questionable people on Rivero's site, Mitchell too has questionable people supporting him. I can mention names, but it has been done on this site many times before.

Rivero and Baxter want the same things. How do you oppose a Citizen's Oversight Committee? It is used in numerous jurisdictions from SFPD and SJPD all the way down to little old BART PD (to take effect in January). They both want a clear chain of command. A lieutenant to run the North and another to run the South substations. Sergeant's permanently assigned to the lieutenants. Staffing of the other substations and the transfer of the Main Office to Hill Road. Both also want more training. Look, it took the Sheriff's Office 10 years just to update the deputies in CPR!

The Oversight Committee protects not only the citizen's from dishonest cops, but also protects them too. My case is an example; management did not like my testimony and even accused me of not being able to recall events based only on one event, the Preliminary Hearing for the Dinius case. I was never given a psychological evaluation. It seems the DA and the entire court system made no complaint, in fact I went on to testify at the trial even after being terminated and no complaint from any person attached to the courts complained, not even Ostini. A Citizen's Oversight Committee would have tossed this case out. All my charges were conjured up by Capt. Brown. Not one deputy or citizen freely complained about me, but I was terminated anyway.

As the election grows closer, Rivero will be telling the people more about my case to refresh the people on how Mitchell uses intimidation and retaliation to keep their deputies in line.

Jim you did not want to help cover the murder of Lynn Thorton by perdick . Mitchell needs people that will commit perjury , intimidate witness' , falsify witness statements and help in the cover up of murder , ostini committed all of the above crimes and he is still working .
 

I've commented before about Ostini and I'll do it again. Ostini made mistakes but they were just that, mistakes. He would never cover up for anyone, not even Mitchell or Perdock. He is by the book, but he was fairly new to boating enforcement. Drive down to the boat barn (at Braito's Marina in Buckingham) some time and chat with him. You will be surprised that this man is nothing like you think he is.

You will not find him on Mitchell's or Rivero's endorsement page. Now Perdock, Mitchell and Brown are another story. Ostini is not a GOB, but a hard working and honest cop.

Who will qualify for the citizen's oversight committee? How will they be qualified to judge an officer on issues, like use of force etc..? Who will select these people? How much will the committee cost tax payers?

And all the safe guards that are in place are not working.From the grand jury to the board of supervisors and all others that took the oath. I would state mistakes or errors will occur But they are not that when known and not acted on.It is a cover up. Sir when you chose to stand up and state the truth and not cover up. Ostini never stood up and did the right thing as a matter of fact he was the prosecutions star witness . How that lying weasal sleeps at night is beyond me . Without Ostinis investigation dinius would never have been charged . Every lie the prosecution told has Ostinis signature on it . He is in bed with Mitchell and perdick .
 

I loved watching Ostini sitting next to hoppy during the trial . I swear he was rubbing hoppy's leg . He looked like a proad peacock up there .

Take a chance to talk with Rivero about your views. Rivero has spoken several times (and I was present) about the Citizen's Oversight Committee. He wants retired persons to be on this panel. As for funding, LCSO already has a captain and two lientenants (soon to be three) openings. On the last open LT position, only one person applied. Nobody wants to be on Mitchell's staff at LCSO. One position could be closed and the money for that can be transferred.

An example that Rivero has used was having a person with law enforcement or legal experience on teh committe. He spoke several times about former DA Investigator Brown as an example. I have heard from deputies that Rivero plans on picking persons out of the blue with no legal or criminal justice experience. That is untrue.

Mitchell was a good Sheriff up to his last election and then he turned sour. I've watched Mitchell promote people with a history of retaliation and bulling. Mitchell ran the first time on the grounds that management was too top heavy. He removed all lieutenant's and captains. He than made Chief Deputy positions. One running the jail (who was fired and went to CPD) and the next Chief running the jail was moved to the Main Office having to do nothing with running the jail. Than you have Perdock and Garzoli.

My case is a prime example of Mitchell's tactic's and using Brown as a tool to go after me. I have a long bad history with Brown that almost any deputy can tell you about.

I have no problem supporting Rivero and if I'm wrong, someone can challenge him in four years. Do I agree on everything Rivero stands for? No, I totally am against removing the take home car program. Patrol cars last longer, stay cleaner and equipped with items most deputies from other agencies would not carry (bolt cutters, advanced printing kits, trauma bags, hazmat masks (not the paper one) and more). Damage is less and it doesn't take deputies time during their shift to run other car's back and forth just for service.

I agree with most of your comments. I was only allowed to be in the courtroom while I testified so I'm not sure if someone was untruthful on the stand or who exactly testified.

I do have problems with two deputies who testified. I have given Dinius' lawyer their names and what I believed was improper testimony.

Mitchell is in a hot spot on one point that I must endorse (can't believe I said that). Deputies under investigation or personnel files can not be released to the public. It is not Mitchell's choice, but the law and subject to a minimum $25,000 fine for each time he violates that law.

That being said, there is nothing to stop Mitchell or the county to simply state the EEOC finding, in regard to the recent racial discrimination cases, were investigated and found to be unfounded. No names, dates or times need to be released.
 

Mr.Beland: For a government to avoid the truth and have laws so they can do just that is tyrannical. The long and short of it is what we have going on know. I am of the opinion that "Its a personnel matter" corrupts and gives good people a excuse for the dishonesty with in government.You SIR with what you are going through make my point. Bureaucrats with power has a tendency to be corrupt. I state again not one that I have talked with in the government think employees should lie but its allowed to go on and for the reasons stated above. History tells what will happen with a tyrannical government. For so long I was a lone wolf in the wilderness but not anymore. You did the just and the right think to stand up and honor you oath. You should not have to sue them to get that fact across.
 

What I was put through should never happen to any person. I agree that bureaucrats with power do have a tendency to be corrupt and I have felt that wrath personally. But just as a cop protects his beat, a cop's manager should protect a good cop. The Peace Officer's Bill of Rights were designed due to bureaucrats who insisted on mistreating cops.

Dinius was found not guilty and that's the jury's finding. Remember that Rivero (hopefully if elected) has the legal right to review the Sheriff's past personnel actions against deputies. I'm sure he will do it too.
 

Jim you did the right thing and from what I hear this is far from over . My bet is that you and Dinius will get the last laugh .

Get your facts correct. I testified correctly at the prelim and trail. No charges were EVER filed on me. I never received any complaint from anyone in the court from the judge to the bailiff. You sir need to read the transcripts and see for yourself. I said at the prelim that Ostini told me not to PAS Perdock. According to Morshed, Flyn took his statement wrong.

As for prior complaints on me, not one deputy or citizen made a voluntary complaint against me that was used in my termination. Management had failed to have any complainant testify in my arbitration except a sergeant. He was not at any court proceedings on the Dinius case and signed off my report prior to testifying.

I do not understand you comment about driving Perdock around for an hour. I testified that I did not recall what happened to Perdock and DID NOT drive him around after the blood draw. Prior to the trial, I researched the radio logs to refresh my memory. Pedock obtained his own ride home from the hospital while I handled a disturbance in the ER. From Perdock's blood draw to arriving at the substation took an hour and that is what I testified to at the trial. Once again, not one person attending the preliminary hearing, motions or trial accused me of any type of wrongful testimony.

You sir need to face the fact that Rivero is going to be the next Sheriff. My name is here. You seem to know me so contact me. My number and address has not changed since I left LCSO. Or are you afraid of hearing the truth.

I have trusted friends who have told me other stories. (Cry all you want about somethings being second hand, but there are many truths in this world that are yet to be proven.) There is too high a number of these stories floating around Lake county, that if only a small number is true, then that number is way too high.
What this tells me is the difference between the drugs that you do and the drugs that the drug addicts do is that they pay for theirs and then you steal yours from them.

Never skirted the truth. If I told a DA and testified another way, no DA would let that go without filing charges. Oh that's right, there were no charges! No complaints, written or recorded statements from the DA's Office that stated I did such a thing. Looks like you're full of shit again.

You are correct Jim, it has been 10 months of asking over and over for something more then them trying to discredit Rivero and nothing on the Mitchell record of performance and actions. They simply cannot intellectually defend their position. I do not say that in jest. It is a campaign nightmare trying to overcome a history like Mitchell's.

You always hear about "write in" campaigns they are typical and always happen. They never amount to anything but a small 1% or so of the voters. Never amounts to anything.

Well 12:07- from what I have gathered is that Frank let Joe Ford go as campaign manager. He has replaced him with the same gal that is handling Andersons campaign (which seems a bit odd). Three people have been let go from the campaign now (Ringer - The red head gal he hooked up with and Joe Ford. Don't know all the details of it but think it has something to do with the gal and her husband getting into it and him hitting her and her being thrown in jail, and on top of it, Ringer and her shacking up behind hubbies back. As for Joe Ford now that one I'm still wondering about. If anyone can add or correct what I have said feel free to do so!

I was at Konocti Vista last night talking to a few American Indians and boy do they support Rivero. Seems that they will have a bus ready to take anyone to the voting booth on election day. I was told the same thing will be happening at Robinson, Twin Pines and the Elem.

As for a write-in, I contacted the Registrar of Voters. I'm told there is no spot on the election card to write a person's name in. The same if you use the electronic machine. How would you plan to write in a candidate?

Let's clear up a few items, I don't think I would be to concerned about the campaign teams that are in the respective camps. Some of these people due to their own ego, will get bounced from one campaign and go to another. Think about it with as much damage as Joe Ford tried to do to Mitchell, the things he said, and for a short period of time the hard core campaigning he wanted to do against Mitchell. So now he is with the Mitchell Camp...LOL that's funny. Just so all of you know, Joe Ford is an old hard core campaign guy he believes in hard core lie telling campaigning, he latches on to various campaign teams acts like he is in charge to various people then tries to run a campaign based on his hard core old world tactics. He then gets told to back off, and he and his ego runs off to another camp and tries to latch on. It never works for him, he doesn't know computers from jelly beans, does not use e-mail, knows nothing about technology and is lost in the new world of communications. He will try to get people to do things for him, to satisfy his need for the days of time gone by...Ha ha. A funny old man, who to any campaign will always do more damage then good.

The write in comments are pure Joe Ford. He is not smart enough to realise that you can't have a write in campaign and there is no provisions for it in the upcoming election, you can make the attempt in the primary, but that party is over, and the primary is what qualifies you to go on to the next phase which is coming up in November. Joe Ford is now attached to Rob Brown, now there is a great combination, an old world punk like Ford, hooked up with one of our daily bloggers Brown....hahahahah

Hey Clark even though we have to endure the silly antics of the Mitchell GOB's we do allow them to post. They do lower the intellectual level of the discussions, and never can they post supporting information for Mitchell, but only try to disparage the Rivero campaign, they actually do more damage then good, and in the end it is a blast to beat these guys up!!

8 test's for DUI were given

We have contacted the CHP on the Bryan Smith DUI/accident which occurred in Hidden Valley about a month ago. The CHP has reported that the investigation continues to be on "suspension" and that the DOJ is still conducting its work and the results of the toxicology are yet to be divulged. We will continue to follow up on this situation and report it to you as we get it.
