If I send a donation via my pay pal acct. will my contribution remain anonymous from any outside source? I don't mind you knowing who I am and my address etc. I just don't want some yahoo getting that info and making a big deal about it. As you know there are those of us who must remain anonymous on many levels to protect ourselves and our families.

I'm glad the Manifest is going to look at the CLPD Chief and his cronies. I listened to his speeches when he first got here and thought he was sincere. He spoke about caring for the community and how the police dept was a big family. McClain said it so well, I almost started to cry. I was at the police dept a couple of weeks ago and saw that the officer of the year was from 2008. I wondered who was the newest officer of the year. I asked one of the cops and looked at me weird. He acted like it was one of those OH SHIT moments. I ran into one of the older cops and asked him. He said he didn't know either. I remember when my brother got officer of the year down south it was a big deal. I'm pretty sure that McClain must have forgot about recognizing the achievements of his officers and volunteers. McClain and his admin staff care so little about the people that work for them they didn't even name an officer of the year.

It's hard to remember all these things to do. Mcclain will probly blame his staff. I can only guess how long the old plaque will stay on the wall.

If somebody can confirm this I would really like to know. If I'm wrong I will apologise. I don't think I am.

I can confirm the awards on the wall are very outdated,and the last honors were as you stated, while waiting for someone I looked around the Lobby area, and as you stated a few years have passed....Officers do not get the Kudos they deserve so I say "SHAME ON McCLAIN" for his visual lack of caring for his Men/Women and to the Volunteers.

I wonder what it takes to have a face to face, when and if I see him next I will make it a point to tell him of my dismay over his heading the Police Dept. He really needs to get in touch with the community instead of being out of sight except for photo shoots.

RUSTY WRIGHT ENTERS MISDEMEANOR PLEA BARGAIN

July 2, 2010 - Lakeport, CA - Russell “Rusty” Wright entered into a plea bargain today to a misdemeanor charge of possession of illegal fireworks and tracer ammunition. The tracer ammunition was purchased by Wright in another state where it was legal, but was brought back to California where it is not legal.
Wright will be on informal probation until he completes 160 hours of work service and he will pay a statutory minimum fine.
Wright was originally charged with numerous felonies, including grand theft, embezzlement by a public officer and receiving stolen property. He was facing a prison sentence in excess of three years.
As a result of the plea bargain, Wright will not serve any time in jail at all.
“Mr. Wright is entering a plea that is consistent with what actually took place. The felony charges were never a consideration for him and are false. Rusty was found with equipment related to his position with law enforcement, which he returned to former correctional officer Chad Holland. Mr. Holland inexplicably brought the items back to Rusty instead of returning them. A warrant was obtained and Rusty was found with his standard equipment, some fireworks and some ammunition from another state,” stated his attorney, Stephen Carter at the Law Offices of Carter & Carter in Lower Lake. “Rusty is not a thief and theft charges were out of the question. He did want to resolve this right away so he could move on with his military career, which is very important to him.”
The plea bargain does allow Wright to continue in his military career, which has already included a tour of duty in Iraq as a combat sergeant. Wright anticipates returning to Iraq early 2011.

it is sorta normal to pin gobs of charges and then they have to prove the person did what they were charge with, Hey I heard that Officer Brady went though something of the same thing, accused of things that were not accurate or with foundation, shame on McClain, lest we not forget Lt.Hermann would stood up to McClain and got fired, that is how Mikey Mouse McClain deals with anyone with a Pair................he can't grow any purbity is over for him.

I have a few things that have recently crossed my mind and make me ask...what the hell is going on down there.

1) Why is there a departmental portrait in the lobby of CLPD and about (7) people pictured no longer work there.

2) Why is former Officer Brady the only African American male in the picture.

3) Why is the 2008 winner of volunteer and employee of the year still up on the wall.

4) Who is going to pay for the mistakes of former Navy Seal (JK) Dale Neiman, when he leaves the city high and dry.

5) Why is there not more citizen participation at the council meetings and why are critics constantly silenced?

6) Why is anyone with half a brain or the ability to leave...leaving?

7) What is the police department going to do about the upcoming vacant positions? Will they fill them or leave dissolve them so that we have less police protection.

8) Hey Alan...why do we need a K-9 again, hasn't the city survived without one for over five years?

9) How many breakfast and lunch breaks does one administration need to have and what is so important that they cannot show up to work on time (yes, people are paying attention)?

10) And last but certainly not least...why is Alan McClain still the chief of police???

If I could leave then I would, these are several things that make you go...hmmmmmmmmmmmm.

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Criminal charges, including negligent homicide, were filed Thursday against U.S. Coast Guard sailors involved in a boat collision late last year that resulted in the death of an 8-year-old Ranch Paquito's boy.
Anthony Cole Dewey's died and five other people were injured in the Dec. 20 collision that took place during the annual Parade of Lights on San Diego Bay.

The charges were brought after a lengthy investigation led by Rear Adm. Joseph Castillo, commander of the 11Th Coast Guard District.

Petty Officer Paul A. Ramos, the coxswain of the Coast Guard vessel that struck the boat carrying three families, is charged with involuntary manslaughter, aggravated assault, negligently hazarding a vessel and dereliction of duty.

Petty Officer Ian A. Howell is charged with negligent homicide, aggravated assault, negligently suffering a vessel to be hazarded and dereliction of duty.

Petty Officer Brittany N. Rasmussen is charged with negligent homicide, aggravated assault, and dereliction of duty.

Petty Officer Lovell M. Te ague is charged with dereliction of duty.

The Coast Guard previously reported the crew of its 33-foot boat was rushing to help a grounded boater when the USCG vessel collided with the 24-foot Sea Ray, which had three families aboard as guests.

The charges against the USCG sailors were brought under the Uniform Code of Military Justice. The defendants must appear at an Article 32 hearing, the military version of a preliminary hearing, but the date has not been determined.

Numerous complaints regarding inadequate counsel from the PD's; Findings, It does not appear that the defendants are getting adequate representation.

BOS: County was notified on 3/22/05 of the violations.
GJ gave the County 90 days from 3/22/05 to take steps to change the many problems .

A Citizens oversight committee is needed to oversee the Contract

A new system for defense of Indigent defendants needs to be implemented immediately.

We recommend that the 05-06 GJ follow up on this investigation.

I don't think any of these recommendations has been put in place... This is criminal and the Appellate Court
says this in so many words. We need to do something
maybe put this in the face of the BOS. Look how many people are being sentenced to prison without a proper
defense.

By the way we have a tape we are working on transcribing which is a recording of Mitchell at a mental health meeting in Clearlake, so far we have counted 3 times he has called people with mental health concerns "crazies"...The article will be an accounting of how Mitchell has not changed a thing in regards to how the SO supports the people working or should we say not supporting the people who work in mental health. It is a sad statement to say the least and in over 4 years nothing has changed.

Rivero had a lot of supporters on a train made from an old farm tractor. It was very cute! On board were Rivero's wife, son and Bealand. Rivero walked in front of the train shaking hands. He got a lot of support from the crowd. I stood at the end and did not see very much support for Mitchell's clan.

Mitchell had a large semi pulling a flatbed trailer. It had a large balloon that spelled "Sheriff Mitchell" over the top. A lot of deputies wearing white t-shirts stating how proud they are to be one of the GOB's and handing out balloons to kids. The shirts I thought was very offensive. After the parade several people came up and complained about the shirts.

The LCSO SWAT van, OES trailer and K9 car were there too but I did not see any Mitchell support signs or buttons on the drivers.
 

So that parade is done, I hate to tell the Mitchell boys and girls but as I said, a thousand parades ain't going to help the Mitchell cause. The party is over for the Mitchell regime. I now they think they have a game plan, but the fact of the matter is it is not going to them much good at all. He he...As the events of the next couple months come forward you will see what I mean. It is going to be a riot to say the least...

2) If your subordinates respect you, they will do anything within reason and follow your lead because they trust you. Again, Alan has not done that during his time pretending to be the Chief of Police.

3) If you lead by example and they trust you...they will be willing to stay, not leave as they are now. If I did not need this job, I would have left a long time ago!! I am sure that you are able to hear the footsteps Alan...as they get louder everyday.
 

Ok wanna hear about Mitchell and his military at the parade, what a joke. This will crack you up. I'm standing at Ness Jewelers and across the street were two large pop up tents with a shit load of folks. Young, Teens, Old, Husbands and wives. They were having fun with the crowd as it was very hot out. The kids had water balloons and some of the others had the big water guns. Mitchell walked up to that crowd and got Boo'd and then this little girl ran up to him with a water balloon and he starts to run lmfao almost running another pedestrian over. Then the older folks took the water guns along with a hose and started spraying all of his GOB's as they walked by. Sure can tell you they were not smiling. Then Don Andersons group came by and they just loved it. Rivero was walking ahead of all of them and people ran into the street to give the guy a handshake and some even gave him a hug. It was absolutely halarious to see the look on Mitchell and all the GOB's. Mitchell should have known Clearlake was not his town LMFAO, next time sheriff Mitchell KEEP OUT!
 

Why would anyone believe the grand jury when they are ruled by the same ones you would complain about. All one needs to do is look at the report about the supervisor that misused his county phone for personal use.Look to see the outcome with that person.Dishonest from on end to the the other. By the way the supervisors name is Lewis.The grand jury in Lake County is as phony as Mitchell and Hopkins has been.
 

The parade yesterday was great for Frank, he was walking shaking hands, and made a real good showing. The amount of people cheering for him and supporting him was great. You could see the look on his face and he was really happy about the support and the cheers. Mitchell was always scattered with boo's no matter where he went or walked. Not even close to Rivero's reception....Clearlake, was not Mitchell territory!!!

You must have been in a dream parade, there was no booing for Mitchell, the locals have respect for their governement even if they don't vote or support them at the polls, booing anyone is Rude behavior and only low life's who are ill mannered would do such a thing. Stop by and question Mitchell about the Dinius case, Garzoligate, Perdock, Ronda Rully, Morshed or Beeland. I bet he will refuse to answer any questions. Then ask Rivero the same questions and get answers.

Ok so I was at the Fireworks in the Oaks tonight. My wife says to me, look at these idiots out on the lake. I look over and here is a paddle boat with a umbrella and no lights, and behind them is a row boat with 5 guys in it with no lights. Mind you it is dark and I would roughly saw a good 150+ boats out on the lake. I called the Sheriffs to report this before anything happened that would take yet another life. Here is what they said to me. Well, we can't stop them from being out on the lake but I will call and let the Sheriffs know. Can you believe this? I for one was pissed off that they showed absolutely NO concern.

What the heck are you talking about???? You act as if you are doing some sterling job at being a deputy. Most of you (not all mind you there are a few good deputies) have gotten so lazy in getting your job done that it is incredible you can even feel like Rivero has somehow forgot how to do his job. While it is common place for you to go to a call and "George Sam" (general services rendered - no report) or when pushed you might "Robert Tom" (report taken) but then the report written is so poorly done it's laughable, and usually it is submitted with little or most times no follow up and it is quite clear that you couldn't give a crap if the victim is vindicated or not. And to think these go thru a supervisors approval before getting the records approval then submitted to the DA. No, I'm sure Rivero knows how to do his job, and that's why he's trying so hard to get elected, so he can educate you on how to do your job and write a proper report. How's it feel to be dragged kicking and screaming out of the GOB dark ages? If you haven't started feeling it yet, you will soon...
 

Flash to the citizens: last Supervisor meeting there was a vote held in the BOS, that vote was concerning Helo funding, and the typical Mitchell desires, with him being a lame duck nothing should be approved by the board without a complete review and a transparent accounting to the public. Now here is the rub, During the vote for approval, all supervisors except one Denise Rushing voted for the funding. The other supervisors all voted for it.

Guess what the funding has tucked away in it? That's right funding for kiddie rides on the helo's!!! Yup called an educational program, and the county gets to bring kids up in the helo, to show them all the good work the task force on drugs is conducting and how nasty the pot growers are. Well isn't that interesting. 4 of the 5 supervisors ok the funding and not a word to the public about what the provisions are that are tucked away in this Mitchell request. Wake up citizens there is a lot of work to be done, even after ousting Mitchell and his gang opf thugs we will have to turn our attention to all the other issues in the county, namely the BOS in its current configuration. We have a lot of work to do.

Rivero has been cleared of his IA by Captain Brown. Mitchell refuses to acknowledge that, Mitchell and Rivero even talked about it on the radio! Rivero is still a deputy and NOT on probation or even Admin Leave. He still has his badge, ID and gun. He is on regular leave just like anyone else in LCSO can do.

If Mitchell is so good, why did the Lakeport Police officers union refuse to endorse him. In fact, why hasn't ANYONE at Clearlake Police endorsed him. That is because nobody wants anything to do with him.

Ask Mitchell why there is no minorities in his chain of command. Ask Mitchell why he encourages his management to harass deputies who do there job but don't agree with his policy? Ask about the EEOC complaint, Beland's complaint, Morshed's case, why Wright was not arrested when he was in possession of "so called" stolen property. Why did they go after Wright and not "ONE" charge was filed against him for "ANY CRIME" related to LCSO? Ask Mitchell why he told the BOS he knew what Garzoli was doing but later said "not to that extent"? Ask Mitchell why he did not lock down the Dinius case from Perdock or the Rusty Wright case from others?

To bad Mitchell will only say "It is a personnel matter" and give no comment.
 

This chatter the corruption supporters are trying to put out with Rivero and Carter is funny stuff, you guys are such idiots. First of all you should remember that Tom is thought of very highly in the north shore community and all around Clearlake for that matter. You dummies can be assured that if you have Tom supporting you that equals around 1500 instant votes. Now as far as the conspiracy/koolaid drinking Mitchell supporters, give it up boys there is none. I citizen may support anyone he wants, you dopes have been beating that drum and it keeps biting you in the ass. When will you corruption boys brighten up and get a clue, well let's hope never, cause you really help our cause a lot more then if you got smart and knew where to focus your attention. This system is laced with employees that lie and cove up for each other and that is with the BOS approval. "Its a personnel matter" will be the death nail in our coffin with this government. The negative effect of the DSA endorsement is a perfect example.

ahhhhhhhhhh Good morning Lake County, just a heads up there are several good articles going up on the Manifest today, sometime around noon. We have a lot of information to put out and thought we would post a few items on the Blog this morning.

First of all can anyone guess how many Hispanics there are in our state? There answer is one, and he is in LA, so Mr. Rivero will be only the second Hispanic sheriff in our entire state. What does that tell you about the state of racism in our state and country.

The University of Berkeley political science students are tracking our sheriffs race very closely and writing papers on it. There is a full blown study going on centred around them watching and analysing what is happening inn our sheriffs race. One of the students was in town over the weekend gathering information. They asked Frank a lot of great questions, and Mitchell and his boys would not give the student the time of day.

The word on the street is the Clearlake parade was a big success for Rivero, he really did a great job walking the streets and shaking hands. Some have reported that some people actually recoiled when Mitchell or his band of thugs would approach them on the side walks, it did not go well for Mitchell on Saturday, not well at all.

We have a reporter covering the BOS today. We repeat the information which we posted the other day concerning the helo grant 4 of the 5 supervisors approved in that it has kiddie rides worked into the money...Now that is something we want in the hands of Sheriff Mitchell isn't it!!! Not. All we can say is to the supervisors is this, we have not even turned our focus to you yet. After the election you and what you do will be priority one.

Including the city council. We had thought we would be able to wait till after the election to put a focus on the city of Clearlake, but the problems are to great and there are to many. We want to use that site to condense the comments associated with the Clearlake Pd and city and be able to document them so they are not mixed with thed Sheriff Mitchell Blog. You can feel free to continue to post here but please post those comments and other information on the new forum as well. We did take down the 1036 post as we have seen this from him a thousand times, this is the post you see a few responding to, we think you can tell by the tenor of the responses what it was rattling on about. Just keeping it real.
 

As usual, the Mitchell supporter that is stating whatever he/she is stating, makes no sense. But to set the record straight, I never kissed Mitchell's ass. And, it is quite obvious that the chump that posted that comment does not know me. I don't kiss anyone's ass. That is probably why I don't associate with any of the people that have their lips surgically attached to Mitchell's ass and other parts of his anatomy.
 

As a longtime Clearlake resident (20 years), I am glad that some focus has been turned towards the City of Clearlake, the police department and city hall. Alan McClain was apparently chosen, not because he was the best candidate, but because he was the only qualified one. I have done some research and followed up with the King's County DSA and he was was not well liked there. As you may well know, he was kicked out and replaced by a black man. Alan McClain then brought his bigotry to Lake County and has allowed it to fester.

Alan McClain has not had as many publicized incidents as Mitch, but certainly had his share. Let us not forget Michael Hansen, who was arrested for DUI and other charges. It is my understanding that McClain babysat him and allowed Hansen to keep screwing up without adequately punishing him. Then came Michael Herman, who allegedly quit without reason. Now this man was a Lieutenant inside of the police department and just quit. I have heard that he is attempting to recycle back for the 3rd time as a reserve officer. I ran a security company in the Bay Area for twenty five years. If an employee quit, I did not hire them back and for good reason.

After reading this blog for several weeks, I see that Officer Brady has been fired from the police department. I only met him one time at the Judge's breakfast and he was being recognized for his service as the school police officer. From the postings, it does not seem as though Alan McClain is well liked, or will be able to give him a fair shake. If it were many other places, I don't think his race would matter...but it seems to be an issue here. Also, why is the Grand Jury investigating McClain and his department anyway. How many times can this county get punched in the gut and not say uncle?

Lastly, city hall. I have researched Dale Neimann, who is the current city mis-manager. He had worked in Fortuna, who fired him before they became bankrupt. He also worked for Lakeport as a consultant. They decided not to hire him, because he attempted to play the shell game with their money. You know, take the money from one pot and hide it in another. I'm no genius by any stretch of the imagination and have seen several city administrators and police chiefs come and go. I am retired now and have been for the last several years.

What I cannot understand is how the residents of Lake County and specifically the City of Clearlake continually allow this to happen. I met Frank Rivero for the first time over the 4th of July weekend and I believe he just may be the lightning in a bottle that is needed. John Hopkins is out and Mitch will soon follow suit. I believe the city council in Clearlake should be shaken up and some new blood infused. Alan McClain and Dale Neiman need to go, before they ruin another community.
 

i was in main street cafe the other day. my family was seated near the entry to the back where the cops sit. there was 2 big, young boys in uniform. i couldnt help but que in on their conversation when they were joking about that they got officer brady fired, and thought his 4 legged replacement was a better officer. the rest of their cconversation sounded like high school juvenille stuff. talking about getting drunk, having sex, very, very un-professional. i had heard the clearlake police were very unprofessional, and after hearing the way those corn fed boys were talking, i hope i never have to call for the cops! im new to this area, and new to this blog, i hear the Sheriff is just as bad. comments? suggestions? this is scary. how can we help?

This is the Lovelace group, we are cutting out the banter on other citizens relationships and or incidents that have no connection to the Sheriff Mitchell Blog or the newspaper. It would fill the thread and take us far off focus, we hope everyone understands and respects our requests for maintaining the focus on sheriff Mitchell and our goal of removing him from office. I just checked the SA site. I was glad to see Anom 1? is keeping their readers informed on the progress in cleaning up Lake Co. Their readers are world wide and might not be aware of this site or the online paper. Even tho the trial is over there are many around the world that would be interested in our progress in cleaning up Lake County. Thanks to SA The Hopkins/Mitchell problem was exposed world wide, Lets keep it that way.

Post 1208 the SA forum is well aware of the Blog and the newspaper (Manifest) we communicated on many occasions to the forum as the elections progressed into June 8th. We also exposed LCN on that page, and changed their view significantly on the MO and Mitchell supporters that LCN has turned out to be. Although there are still some on the SA forum who support some aspects of LCN, for the most part they were discredited and the truth was put forth so the world community has a complete view of the conditions in our county.

Flash Flash breaking news. MITCHELL LIES TO GRAND JURY AND THE GRAND JURY BUYS IT! Although the now released grand jury is as usual a major waste of time. There was one interesting notation. As many of you know we reported to the Grand Jury that Mitchell had threatened people in the past that were going to run against him. We brought a witness before the jury who gave them direct testimony of this happening. Mitchell's response was it did not happen. The Jury being the inept group we had always thought they were, found no reason to carry forth an investigation, even having been given the names of others who this had happened to. When Kip Ringen went before them to report this happening, he left saying, these guys are not the sharpest tools in the shed, and they not going to do a thing. Kip was right, the citizens feeling about the Grand Jury being pretty much useless again holds true.
 

We also make note that LCN in posting the small paragraph on the Jury report decided not to use Mitchell's name in the reporting. Trying to claim it was confidential information,the only thing confidential in the Grand Jury report is those that turn in the requests for investigation. LCN was asked about this "omission" but their comment was they could not post it and "we would have to guess"...Well there ya go you draw your own conclusions. We have drawn ours! But now at least you have the proper and truthful reporting.
 

Heads up for everyone: Tomorrow in Conference room C of the court house at 9:00 there will be a Public Defender Citizen committee meeting. The public is invited to attend. Anthony Farrington will be there and we hope not but possibly Rob Brown, Rob may bring down the level of intelligence associated with the meeting, but none the less it is a great venue to begin to understand what is going on with the PD's and the process associated with them, you and the courts. Hope some of you can attend.

Melissa Bentley avid Mitchell supporter, constant posts on the opinion sections of the local rags about her support of Mitchell. Oh on the 2009 Grand Jury? yup I think so. Was she on the 2010 Grand Jury? It was reported that she was going to stay on another year after the 2008-2009 Grand Jury. So we have an avid outspoken although not with much intelligence supporter of Mitchell, who has and or is a part of our local Grand Jury and at minimum was on for 2009 and we have no actions taken of any consequence ever against Mitchell, do you find that interesting? I do!!
 

If some one could let me know if she is or is not on the 2010 Grand Jury I would appreciate it. I thought she was but maybe I am wrong. I do know for a fact she was as said on the 2009.

For those of us who have been watching CPD for years this has to be one of the DUMBEST things ever. Hermann is the biggest liability the city has ever had!!!! He couldn't get hired by any of the Indian tribal police and casinos because he has screwed over so many of us former CPD officers and even the ones who still work there.

McClain and Clausen are idiots for hiring him back. Hermann is an Idiot for coming back. The city will pay for this. Charming as a snake.

Mike Hermann's history:
1997: Shot a local electric contractor BBB Electric for drunk driving. Cost the city almost a million dollars from the law suit. He should have gone to jail.

1998: Hermann goes crazy and drives to Oregon and threatens to kill himself. Local police stop him and CLPD goes all the way to Oregon to get him. Brought back and put to work.

sometime around 2000: Hermann gets married for the third time. His drug addicted wife puts a restraining order on him. He gets the whole thing pushed under the carpet and divorced. This is at least the third time women put restraining orders on him.
Hermann finds a new woman. He doesn't care she is married.
Hermann quits CPD as a Sergeant and moves to Washington with the new girlfriend. Stays there for a few months and then crawls back begging for his job. He gets it back and gets promoted to LT. "F up move up!!!!

2005: Hermann lies about Officer Tim Fassler and gets the corrupt DA Jon Hopkins to file charges against Officer Fassler for giving a teenager alcohol. The case goes to trial and Fassler wins. Nobody investigates Hermann's perjury.

2009: (I'm not sure about the details because I wasn't at the PD then and somebody who is still working there told me this) Hermann tells McClain to "F" Off in public. I heard McClain had written Hermann up at least five times and there was something about Hermann leaving a bomb in a house overnight because he was too lazy to call out the bomb squad. (later the bomb was detonated it was real)

2010: Hermann starts a PI company. He lets people think he is still a police officer so he can get information out of them.

This is only part of what I can remember. I'm sure there are other stories.

McClain is bringing Hermann back!!!!. What dirt does Hermann have on McClain! This makes Sheriff Mitchell look like an outstanding administrator. Everybody has been looking the wrong way. "SHAME ON McCLAIN".

I'm proud of my work at CPD and happy I'm not there anymore!!!!

RE: Hermann getting rehired at Clearlake Police Dept. I know of three Volunteers in Policing who will walk out and quit, they cannot stand his arrogance and better than thou attitute. Big Mistake all the way around for all.

I am fairly new to Lake County and may just be ignorant about how things are done here, but an incident on Sunday has roused my curiosity. Around noon, a family member and I decided to go to Lakeport from our home in the Riveria. We decided to take Soda Bay Road. We were nearly around Mount Konocti, when we came upon a man stading in the road slowing and stopping traffic. We then noticed a wreck in front of us about 500 feet down the road in the middle of a curve. We noted two firetruck and personnel at the site of the wreck. The firemen were attending to one woman with apparently minor injuries and visiting with one another. The only person directing or stopping traffic was the one civilian, who was apparently a volunteer. We sat there for about fifteen minutes before turning around and going back the way we came, since it was apparent that the roadway had been blocked for sometime and would continue to be blocked for awhile. There was a lot of traffic that day and about ten cars were already behind us, when we turned around and started back to hiway 29. We thought it was odd that there were no law enforcement people at the wreck site and kept expecting to meet one all the way back to the hiway. We saw no sign of anyone responding to the wreck. We thought perhaps something was going on elsewhere to tie up the sherriffs office, but when we got to Kit's Corner, there was a sherriff's car in the parking lot. Does anyone know what goes on at Kit's Corner that is more important than public safety at the site of an accident on one of the busiest week-ends of the year?
 

That post 858 is called priority law enforcement execution. The sheriffs office is working non-stop 12 hour shifts, the good cops are tired, the moral is low, and the house of cards is falling apart. That "tude" no doubt came from one our wonderful deputy sheriff's who think that CHP officers are glorified "tow truck" drivers and the PD officers are p***ies and Lake County citizens are all lowlifes. Regarding earlier comment about accident on Soda Bay Rd over the week-end, the accident was on Soda Bay Rd, two-lane, curvy road with unusually heavy holiday traffic, and an apparent at least minor injury, the road was blocked for over an hour and there were no flairs or other warning for drivers coming around the curve. Where I came from, the closest law enforcement officer would have responded to an accident to investigate for possible dui, etc and to prevent further accidents due to people coming around a curve and not being able to stop in time. I may have gotten the numbers of the highway wrong as I am still unfamiliar with them. I take it that one of the deputies has responded to educate me that Sherriff's personnel are not responsible for traffic cases, is that correct. Do I not have to worry about being pulled over by the Sherriff's office for traffic issues?
 

No 458 the sheriff does respond to accidents all the time. I have seen alot of them and the sheriff is there on many of them, the CHP will respond as well at times, depends where people are who has what cars where, etc etc. The sheriff also gives traffic tickets just like the CHP, they don't do as much of the radar stuff and what not, but yes the sheriff responds and should have responded with units that close, and as usual their priorities are screwed up just like Mitchell. Don't let the Mitchell corruption supporters spin ya, it is all they have to hang on to right now.

It would appear Rivero has violated campaign law and promised jobs on a quid pro quo basis. Not only is this an illegal move, there's no money for the $100k plus position and the supes simply won't go for it so Baxter will be left twisting in the wind. Since Rivero knows this there is one more likely probability: He's also made a deal with Ringen and plans to bring him on as a captain.
Sorry Jack, they are conning you for your support.
This may well spell the end of Rivero's campaign, I've heard he's also promised felons he'll change the law so they can vote... sheesh what a rube.
