Rob Brown is destroying the credibility of the board of supervisors, (like they need help) and our local government, what a total nut case he is turning into. Rivero hit another home run, when he hammered Rodney on the Rully IA and the budget comment of Mitchells it was priceless.

In all three of these quotes, Jefferson was talking about the importance of a free press for spreading the truth. He knew that our government officials could become corrupt, and that a free press was the only force short of violence that could stand against them. He spoke quite clearly about the press' role in informing the people so that the corrupt and the degraded may be stripped of their power peaceably, and I presume quickly as well.


Lake County has an election coming up. Two of the candidates are very much the people Jefferson was speaking about. From 1000 miles away, even I can see that those two men need to be removed from power. Please take Jefferson's words to heart

Post 649 in certain areas your post is right on and a good overview. Let's talk for a moment about the angry wives and corrupt cops you mentioned were angry because of their fear. Perhaps you haven't been on the site much since it opened, and if not you should know the silicone 7 and there corrupt cops have both been working on bringing down this site. They are mean spirited and have shown such in the past, the hammering they are taking is not unjustified, lets not talk like these are nice boys and girls who are just lashing out because they are in fear. Heads up on a quick different subject of discussion, remember we informed you the federal rangers had been given a quota to increase the number of tickets they write from 50 to 500 for the new year, and we warned everyone to be cautious when driving into the forest areas, as they are looking for revenue. Well two different people who live on Elk Mountain road were pulled over 2 days ago, the rangers said they had tinted windows, they removed them from the car and searched their cars each time. Found nothing let them go and wrote no ticket. hmmmmm be careful out there!!
 

Here are some of the questions that were asked last night, see if these don't really sound like hard hitting and important questions:

1. What is your education and background?
2. What is your opinion of the under sheriff position being reinstated.
By the way Mitchells answer was I don't need no undersheriff cause i have Robbie Howe who is a great guy! Robbie how is the guy taking the pictures of the Garzoli helo flights with the kids!!! Yikes
3. How would you increase the number of females in the department.

I thought it was shameful that there were so many cops planted in that room that Middletown residents couldn’t come in and get a seat. There have been plenty of debates up in Lakeport and Kelseyville; those cops have had plenty of opportunity to see a debate locally. We should have had the opportunity to have our one debate in Middletown without cops jeering and walking out of the debate once their candidate had made his closing comments. I stood throughout the entire debate and there were two elderly women and an elderly man next to me. We all stood while the cops took up chairs to hear questions that they’ve probably already heard asked and answered. I was reminded that the deputies already had a private debate to which we, the public, were excluded. I must say that that display has swayed me away from casting my vote in favor of Mitchell; a law enforcement officer should not only display professionalism but common courtesy as well.
 

I didn't see any notice that the debate was for only Middletown residents, there were extra rows of chairs put out for anyone who wanted one after the room was filled.

The deputies did have their own private debate; the first debate to be held. So they should not come to Middletown and disrupt that debate. I personally don’t care who the LCDSA is endorsing because they all work for Mitchell; I would like to have heard the candidates speak without Mitchell’s employees disrupting the debate. I listened quietly when Mitchell told everyone in a previous debate that he did a good job with the Dinius case; if I can do that then the cops in the room should be able to listen to the opposition without a childish temper tantrum.
 

Hey 2:03, are you actually saying that anyone who opposes the reelection of Mitchell is “Anti-Law”. Fact is, a lot of people had to stand. I gave my chair to an elderly man who was standing behind me; I didn’t see one cop extended the same courtesy. Go ahead and tell me they didn’t arrange a walk-out before it started; I don’t believe that.
 

Well here is the low down from the inside of the old SO, Rodney is not a happy camper, and those corruption boys who got up and walked out are not happy either. The issue is Mitchell is not getting any traction from the DSA endorsement, and in fact it is seen by most as a negative. Now what that means is that the strong arm tactics of Mitchell to his own people to say that they endorse him in the past. This is really driving Mitchell and his little SO's such as those that good all mad and walked out of the debate last night upset, as it appears no one cares about that corrupt endorsement and it equals no votes.

In a democracy, the cops don’t control the debate; they’re just one vote each like the rest of the citizens. I have had occasion to use the Lake County Sheriff's Department in the course of my job duties. I have found the officers professional, unfailingly polite and willing to explain options available.
They have dealt with volatile situations involving domestic violence, custody disputes and restraining order violations. They diffuse potentially violent situations and take appropriate steps to ensure everyone's safety. I have had the pleasure of meeting with Sheriff Rod Mitchell and have found him to be an honest man with integrity, traits welcome in a person in this difficult position.
It is obvious the officers are guided by a capable leader.

What was going on with rob brown? I thought public officials are not to openly support other candidates for office. I think this is not allowed in government code. Very poor taste on Rob Brown's part, openly at a candidates forum; publicly; applauding Mitchell and not any other candidates...and then I saw him push some guy into some chairs as he walked out...then followed him to the parking lot where he started yelling at him. This is soooo not cool. Anyone else see it.
 

I was at a murder scene when Rodney Mitchell walked over to the suspect put his arms around him and gave him a big hug and kiss . He said nothing to the family of the victim. Then he ordered officers to falsify evidence . He fired every officer that refused to tow the company line .
 

Heard his big mouth like always. Interupting, making snide remarks while canidate Rivero was speaking. Like I said before, Rob always speaks when never asked, and shuts up when he should be speaking!
 

The stories can go on for along time. But, Rod won't! He is done, the citizens have had enough, he will be voted out and his castle will crumble. They will fight to the bitter end and thats exactly how it will be for the Rodney Regime!

This is the Lovelace group, well we have a few things to go over..Much has been posted on the debate thus far. We want to touch on the antics of the corrupt SO's that walked out last night. From the inside we here this was a bad move, and no one is to happy about it. First though some observations from the debate. Looking at the members of the Silicone 7 and there hubbies such as Frace etc Martin you know the usual group. These guys and their wives are phony as can be it is amazing to look at these guys and their GQ haircuts with their siliconed wives and there little mini purses and stiff as a board hair, along with the massive amounts of caked on makeup and the phony look of these guys is funny as hell. You look around the room and see that 95% of the people are dressed in basic jeans and shirts and these people stand out like a sore thumb, I mean we can imagine the 6 hours they must spend looking in the mirror to get ready to go anywhere..lol and the sun-glasses kicked up on the top of their heads in the middle of the night just says it all. My goodness these are some of the most phony people we have ever seen. The funny part is the old saying holds so true for these punks: They think their shit don't stink but their farts give them away....Permission granted to use a cuss word in this case...Then to see these guys get up and walk out mad and whining is priceless indeed.
 

LOSERS! Thats what they all are. 16 yrs. is long enough and it will not go on to another. Please continue to show just how uncontrolable you all are, the citizens need to see it. Lot's of chaos going on in the sheriffs department after the walk out, those guys are getting hammered for walking out, it is as if those in a system which demands cool under control individuals in any situation, such as a police officer, folded like a rag doll and their wives went down with them. This is the one situation where you would expect a person who is a cop to be able to control themselves take a hit and keep on trucking, what does this tell us about the ability of these guys to handle a situation in the streets? It doesnt say much for them that is for sure. What a sad day for the corrupt Mitchell supporters.
 

May be anger management is in order for these guys, I mean you don't want people like this out on the streets dealing with the public, these are the ones who are suppose to keep their cool under pressure, I don't want to be a citizen needing help on the streets with these out of control guys out there!!

Recent information is indicating the possibility that Perdock has been fired, thats right we are working on determining the validity of this information. The idea was put forth that he has been released, that Mitchell does not want the information released, that the BOS and LCN are aware of it and all parties involved are keeping it from the public. We do not have this information verified at this time, but have people working on it. Usually we do not post possible information of this nature till we get verification but in this case we want to get it out to the citizens if anyone has further on this post on the public thread or send to our e-mail account.
 

Citizens of Lake County we now have a closed government and we now have a closed media the citizens of lake county have now been censored from all available information that is to be public knowledge, this is getting worse by the day.
 

rumor has it that perdock and garzoli have both been fired just recently lets hope so just the begining of the end.
 

Rivero was great on the radio tonight, and the calls were very supportive, Frank went over a lot and included his 100 day plan for change when he takes the department. He discussed the actions of the deputies who displayed such poor judgement. The calls that came in were very positive. Good job by Frank.

Again we have no confirmation on Perdock or Garzoli, and since we have always said neither will wear a uniform unless the BOS cuts their own throat, which we doubt. We suspect something may be up. In the information we heard it was Perdock. The point would be centered around who has knowledge of this why is it not being told to the public. Just asking questions, public has a right to ask questions.

The same 6-8 people following rivero around so he actually has an audience that will clap is not county-wide support. When I got to Middletown I counted many more Mitchell signs, and they were in several prominent businesses on Main Street. Probably about a 2-1 advantage for Mitchell in the count I did. So it's not so clear that rivero "owns" Middletown (Which is actually one word, not two). It seems like the Rivero supporters are stooping to the same types of misinformation that their candidate uses.

Rivero came off as clueless about the budget process, clueless about the internal affairs process and very angry. Many people left concerned about his mental stability.

Sheriff Mitchell a few weeks prior you made the statement that you were NEVER asked by the Pomo Indian Nation to attend meetings regarding issues important to their needs. Rivero point blank called you a lier stating that you had been contacted MANY times by the Tribal Chairman and YOU refussed each request. So here's the question to ask Sheriff Mitchell - were you or were you not contacted by the Pomo Indian Nation?

People Sheriff Mitchell is sneaky, lying, public offical. Don't hire him agian by voting him into office. Call the Tribal Chair person for the Pomo Indian Nation in Lakeport and asked the Tribal Chair himself. I mean really, Sheriff Mitchell is supposed to be the LAST person to be untruthful to us the public. I mean he's the one watching our backs! Think about that. Is he the one you turst?! NOT ME!!!!

Watched the debate between Jeff Smith and Joyce Overton today. Quoting Jeff "If you don't feel I have been doing my job, call me, talk to me, let me know". Guess Mitchell doesn't feel the same way. We wrote him, called him, and showed him, and what did we get?
 

People need to know the truth about last nights "walk out" by the deputies that were there. It seems that they already knew that Rivero was going to make a comment about one of the "despicable" deputies. That Despicable Deputy that Rivero was going to mention was none other than Pat McMahon.

People, THE WALK OUT WAS STAGED! First, I will tell you what "despicable" action McMahon did, then I will tell you what the connection is between Mitchell and McMahon.

Rivero was going to tell the public how Mitchell "punishes" his people. For those of you that don't know, Pat McMahon had been in the narcotics task force. While assigned to the task force, McMahon was in San Francisco with Rob Howe (also assigned to the task force). Well here is the story, they were in a bar and McMahon got into an argument with Howe. McMahon, knowing he was going to get his ass kicked, pulled his handgun and pointed it at Howe's face. In doing so, HE COMMITTED A FELONY! Mitchell punished McMahon by pulling McMahon out of the task force and then promoted him 18 months later. As a matter of fact, McMahon was not #1 on the list. Mitchell past over the people that were in front of McMahon and made him a sergeant. Shortly there after, he was promoted to lieutenant.

If anyone else would have done that, FELONY charges would have been filed against them.

Now, McMahon transferred to Napa County and is a deputy there. He left for money thinking he would do well down there also. Well it seems he can't even get promoted to Field Training Officer in Napa.

O.K., what is the big deal? First, McMahon is Mitchell's Campaign Manager and his wife is one of the people removing Rivero signs. The word is that if Mitchell is re-elected, Pat McMahon will be coming back to Lake Co. and brought on as a Captain.

It seems Mitchell, since he has lost Perdock and Garzoli, he needs to get someone back in house to help him ride roughshod over the troops and the public.

Ask them if they knew about Pat McMahon pulling a gun on another deputy in a bar when his background investigation for Napa County was being done. Ask them if Mitchell gave that information to them or was the information withheld? Were they lied to about McMahon's background? If they hired them knowing about McMahon committing the crime of pulling a weapon on another peace officer, ask them why? Demand that they start an internal investigation on McMahon concerning this incident.

So Rodney’s henchmen walk out to keep Rivero from mentioning that McMahon pulled a gun on a fellow deputy; they just couldn’t allow an honest debate where the facts get out. The deputies had their own private debate so I think it’s an outrage that they would disrupt our opportunity to hear a debate. I will call the Napa County Sheriff in the morning; I would like to know if he hired McMahon (Rodney’s campaign manager) with full knowledge that he had committed a felony or if that information was withheld from him by Rodney. Why would anyone want four more years of Rodney’s corruption; why would anyone listen to a campaign managed by an officer who pulled a gun on another officer in a drunken rage?

If the board of supervisors foster the notion that its exceptable to lie and will aide to cover that lie up of employees. Mitchell and Hopkins is just a extension of the boards views. The way Pat passed the background was everyone lied to get him out of here. Great opinion piece in the RB, we have posted it here for your review, Joan Moss interviewed one of the jurors in the first Dinius trial and here is the report. The other factor is why our local media cannot do these types of interviews, why can they post nothing of any investigative nature. You should remember that even though LCN and Record Bee followed the Dinius trial, they only posted the facts of the trial as they were reveled to them and the rest of the public, they never dug in to find their own stories and only gave the citizens the basics which were just repeats of information already known, below is a good job of reporting and it has to come from a citizen.

The judge in any trial instructs the jury members to study the testimony of the witnesses and discern which witnesses are credible. The judge also admonishes the jury to decide whether or not the lawyers are telling the truth.

Following the candidates' forum May 4 at Hidden Valley Country Club, I interviewed Sandy Bayles, a member of the jury for the Dinius trial. She has continued to separate fact from fiction during campaign candidates' nights.

Bayles said she could not believe Hopkins took the case to trial.

Bayles said she has felt insulted by Jon Hopkins' assessment of the jury during the Dinius trial, and how Jon Hopkins has defended his editorial concerning the "drunken" sailor.

Both Bayles, myself and a friend, who were in the courtroom, remember Judge Michael Byrne publicly scolding Hopkins for writing the letter.

Bayles remembers that members of the jury who admitted to the judge that they had read that editorial were excused by Judge Byrne.

Bayles recalled boating laws that state powerboats shall yield the right of way to sailboats. Powerboats are required to travel at safe speeds.

Bayles said it was wrong that Perdock was allowed to move his own boat. Two people should have stayed with the boat. Perdock returned with insurance adjusters to look at the boat to assess damages.

Perdock had the key to the storage unit where his blood sample was stored. Perdock had access to the RIMS computer system that logs persons interviewed for the

investigation. Defense Attorney Victor Haltom proved that Perdock accessed this system.

Bayles said she feels Lyn Thornton and her family got no justice. If anyone should have been put on trial it should have been Russell Perdock, Bismarck Dinius and the owner of the sailboat, Mark Weber.

The jury has the last say, after disseminating truth from fiction, fact from opinion.

We, the voters, must also disseminate truth from lies. Just because Sheriff Rod Mitchell states he is proud of the investigation done concerning the infamous boating accident, does not make the investigation a good investigation. Just because Jon Hopkins states his letter to the editor was justified, does not make it so.

We, as voters, must be like jury members and remember that opinions are not facts. We must decide who is telling the truth and cast our vote for the truth.

Sandy Bayles continues to attend candidates' forums. She still has her six books of notes she took during the Dinius Trial. She does not forget.

Voters in Lake County will not forget either. Jury members have the last say in trials. Voters will have the last say in this coming election.

I will always tell everyone I know, about the problems of lake county. I have been passing the word since 2006, all over CA, about how dangerous it is there! Sheriff Rod Mitchell you can not get away with that crap you call a job. Exposure of you and your corrupt yahoo's is exactly what is needed. In reading over the three canidates websites, I took notice that those who hold a official position signed the CODE OF ETHICS. Back in 2007 I also took notice that HOPKINS NOR MITCHELL signed this document. Now, in 2010 when approaching a major election, I take notice this same document is now signed. Please explain to me #1 - Why you DID NOT SIGN the CODE OF ETHICS in 2007 and #2 - Why you felt the need to sign it now!

Post 8:12 written by Joan Moss. This interview with the juror tells me that Dinius got of because of jury nullification. The juror Moss interviewed stated that all three men should have been charged. If she truely believed Dinius was not guilty, she wouldn't say that he should have been charged. No other way around that one.

The Sheriff in Napa during the Dinius boating accident was Gary Simpson no Koford.

You will also note Simpson did not support Mitchell either. Nor did any Napa (except McMahon) or Sonoma deputy (and a lot of them live in the Hidden Valley area). And the so called ex-mayor of Clearlake could not even gat ANYONE at Clearlake PD including the Chief.

I live in HVL and was at the debate in Middletown. It went good, Mitchell, Rivero and Baxter were answering the questions well. Baxter is funny (jokes) and made the tension in the air feel less than it was. There were some off duty SO deputies and what I believe were their wives?sisters?friends? Everything went smoothly until the end. Baxter and Mitchell finished up their ending comments with Rivero going last. During Rivero's ending comments he voiced his opinion of how he felt that there are several SO deputies that conducted themselves poorly with the public. At that point one the the females with the off duty SO deputies YELLS "that's ridicules"! Rivero addresses the woman and asks her to "please be quite", that it is his turn to speak. The woman jumps up (drama) and huffs out of the room with the rest of their little group following. How ugly those SO deputies/wives made themselve look! Rivero was not angry, he was indignant at the woman's behavior. No one interrupted Mitchell or Baxter. The same respect should have been shown for Rivero also. The SO deputies had their own debate where the public was NOT allowed. What was their purpose of going to Middletown's debate if not to be disrruptive. To me it was a "no class-low class act"!

Mitchell’s IA never revealed what action was taken in that regard but the matter was quietly dismissed and McMahon was promoted 18 months later, and again 12 months after that. McMahon later left LCSO for a job position in Napa County. The big question, then, is whether Napa County Sheriff Douglas Koford knew that McMahon had pointed a firearm at a fellow officer and chosen to ignore this when he hired McMahon, or whether Rodney Mitchell failed to disclose this to the NCSO when they conducted their background check.

Ok let's look at the at the possibilities as we currently see the election un-folding. First the demographics, these are based a lot on the voice of the voiceless people who are in this county.

Hispanics---We believe this voting group is in the Rivero camp
American Indian---This is a strong demographic and we think is majority Rivero

The LCN group---This group are the voters who have rejected LCN and their media bias and may have voted for Baxter but have swung into the Rivero camp solidly now, and we want to thank John and LCN for that.

Also remember as a side note why John Jensen and Liz are really so angry and have gotten that way since appox. 2 months ago. That is Marty McCarthy remember him? A good friend of John Jensen by the way. Liz's quote when Marty entered the campaign was this "He is the front runner, and a great guy he is a good friend of John's. He has a great background and could win" end quote. Well that was a cool idea till our group and the citizens had a chance to get at old Marty and of course that idea was crushed. No LCN you don't have election bias, no your opinions are not part of your reporting or lack of it!!! Hmmmmmmmmm

Ok back to the overview:

Middle town
Upper lake
Spring valley
Pillsbury
Bluelakes
Hiddenvalley
Clearlake city

We believe the above listed cities including the Oaks, and Glenhaven with the proper work on the streets in the next 4 weeks will be Rivero all the way.

Kelseyvill and Lakeport are currently 50/50 splits with hard work needing to be done in those areas.

The nexst issue will be Baxter where to his votes go to and how many will there be. If there were to be a run-off could it be Baxter and Rivero yes that is a possibility. We would like to think however with solid hard work in the last few weeks Rivero can win it outright first time around.
 

You may be right on most of this but Middletown and HVL are NOT solidly Rivero. You need to do more work there. Hidden Valley especially is mostly Mitchell. Ignore this at your own risk.
 

If it comes down to Rivero and Mitchell Baxters votes will go to Rivero. One idea Rivero and Baxter share is Mitchell has to go.

Yes that is a good point and in fact I believe in the Rushing campaign @$#$%@!^% was in their face and watching right over their shoulder. Also Rivero needs to use another tactic as well which is to be sure we have people at the various voting locations to ensure no one gets turned away or hassled by anyone. I think when it gets a little closer to voting day we need to make sure that is in place. Ms Rully made the accusations publically by calling in to a radio show and repeatedly accusing Rivero of serious criminal behavior. She clearly was not concerned about the publicity or the effect it might have on her. I am not a journalist, but I simply don't understand how it is wrong to publish information about the complaint and the alleged victim's past when the complaint is so potentially damaging to a candidate for public office. I understand that there are ethical lines that should not be crossed, but I really don't think this is one of them. Perhaps if more scrutiny was focused on issues such as this Lake County wouldn't be in such dire need of a Clorox wash. I doubt the Dinius case would have ended favorably for him had it not received such international attention and condemnation.
 

Let us not forget Ostini who falsified the testimony of the two boys in the fishing boat and was responsible for the whole foney baloney investigation . Where in his report did he mention that he let perdock and an insurance adjuster access to the boats the morning after the accident . How in the hell did he contact his insurance and have them send an adjuster after hours .Something smells Fishy .
 

For us that has said to most of the bureaucrats in this government "You can't be a liar,cheat or dishonest.For it will fall around you,with the fallout on all of Lake County.With my complaint you choose I was the problem and not the employees that were dishonest. I guess I first wonder why a bus has been assigned to transport children to the Cobb school from Middletown. Could it be that the Middletown school is full and they need to send the extra children to the other Middletown District school which is on Cobb?
I don't believe the only child on the bus is Rivero's child and I am sure he did not force the district to have a bus to transport the children. Also, I know that he picks his child up almost every day from school. I don't know if he takes his boy to school every day, but, knowing the type of parent he is, I would suspect he does transport his son without using the bus.

OMG!!! I just went to Rod Mitchell's web site and looked at the private party endorsements!! Now I know, having spoken with quite a number of the parties listed on his page that they do not endorse him, however I surmise just like not being able to even give away his bumper stickers, individuals are in fear of saying no/and or publically supporting someone other than Rod.
This should not be!! The public is in fear of our Sheriff and his department!! Amazing!!
